My library is gone, and I was wondering if there is any way for me to copy all my songs from my ipod Nano onto my library?

  • My library deleted some of my songs in iTunes!!

My library deleted some of my songs and when I go to the iTunes to see if I purchased them it says I never purchased those songs. The songs are on my iPod, but I want all of them back on my library. I can't seem to figure it out, can anyone help me?

If you bought them from iTunes (and you are logged in with the same iTunes account that bought them, you haven't changed countries since buying them, and it's the same versions that you bought that are still in the store) then you should be able to redownload them by clicking on your name towards the top right of the iTunes screen (assuming that you are using the current version of iTunes) and clicking on Purchased on the popup :
If not and if they are iTunes store purchases then connecting the iPod and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option should copy them back.
Or do you have them on your backup of your downloads/library - if you do then you can add them to your iTunes library from that via File > Add To Library

  • My Itunes library deleted all my music except two of the songs I bought from the store. They're all still on my phone, but I can't seem to be able to move them all back. I can get the music back another way, but I want to prevent it from happening again.

I'm not sure why it deleted everything. I had rearranged and cleaned up my desktop earlier, but I know for a fact I didn't delete anything. Now, I go onto my Itunes and only two songs I bought off Itunes are there. I had more that I bought, but even the ones I took off my CDs aren't there anymore. I had over four hundred songs and they're all gone. I can put all the music back on because I have it saved elsewhere, but I want to prevent this from happening again. Does anyone know what might have happened? I really want to keep using Itunes, but its becoming more of a hassle than anything.

  • What are the iphoto files I need to restore iphoto library deleted from drive

A few days ago my hard drive started making noises and I was getting all sorts of errors.  I even got errors trying to do a time machine backup with the final error being "backup failed".
Earlier last week I imported a couple hundred photos of my kids from Christmas to present which also included our vacation last month.  I deleted the photos from my camera after the import.  Then foolishly, I didn't think to do any time machine backups between then and the time my hard drive started making noise.
I bought a new SSD drive.  I could still access the bad drive so I moved my pictures directory from the bad drive to the new drive.  It took nearly two hours.  It appeared to have moved everything, but it did not move the iphoto library.  The pictures directory is gone from the old hard drive.
I purchased FileSalvage and recoved thousands of deleted jpg files from my old drive, but none appear to be the pictures I lost.
It appears that FileSalvage will recover specific file types.  There doesn't seem to be a way to just tell it to recover the deleted "pictures" directory or recover "iphoto library".
If I was able to specify specific file names to restore, what files would I even need to specify?   I have iphoto 11.
I came across an article about iphoto library files from iphoto 6 and previous versions which explained the following iphoto files: library.iphoto6, albumdata.xml, Thumb32Segment.data, Thumb64Segment.data, ThumbJPGSegment.data, etcxxxxx.
    mmm
Does iphoto 11 use similar file names?  I'm not concerned with keeping my iphoto database in tact.  I just want my pictures.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong question.  Any advice on how to get my pictures back would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!
    MH

Simply, you can't recover the iPhoto Library. What you need to do is try recover the Photos that were in it. These will be saved as jpeg files* and that's what you need to search for. Recovering all the other files will do no good. You won't be alble to reconstruct the Library. Your aim is to get the Photos and then start over.
The search may find many files of the same name, try to recover the largest files - they are most likely to be your originals.

  • Why are my photos from iPhoto library deleted from my external hard drive when I am only deleting them from my internal drive?

I did a backup of photos (iPhoto library) from my internal to an external hard drive.  I have started to delete photos from my internal hard drive.  It seems that when I delete from the internal drive, photos also delete from the external.  I did a test and deleted one photo from iPhoto internal drive.  When I plugged in the new backup (external drive) and clicked on iPhoto library, it opened iPhoto in the exact place I was working and that one photo was gone.  What do I do?  I do not want to delete the photos off of my external hard drive.

When I plugged in the new backup (external drive) and clicked on iPhoto library, it opened iPhoto in the exact place I was working and that one photo was gone.
When you clicked on the library iPhoto on the EHD iPhoto is op;ending the last library that was previously opened. To change libraries launch iPhoto with the Option key held down to get this window:
Then select the library that is on the EHD if it's in the window. If it isn't, click on the Other Library button, navigate to the EHD and select the library there.

  • Photo Library, Deleting Photos from iPhone, iPhoto

I have read posts about deleting photos from a photo library using iPhoto. I am a novice: do I have iPhoto as part of iTunes? Maybe the better question is: where on my computer is that photo being sync'd so I can delete it?

    JRichson,
iPhoto is a application on Mac Computers. If you are looking a application to use with pictures and to sync with the iPhone then you might want to look at Adobe Photo Shop. Or on a PC you can sync photos from a folder on your computer.

  • Creating space in Aperture Library & Deleting unwanted Facebook/Flickr...

After updating Aperture via the most recent update, Aperture synced ALL my photo libraries from Facebook and Flickr... I didn't want this. Now I keep getting the message "insufficient space in Aperture library" I want to delete the Facebook & Flickr albums that have been added to my Aperture WITHOUT deleting them online. Am I able to do so just by deleting the albums that were synced to my library OR will deleting them from my Aperture will cause them to also be deleted online?
I have deselected the "sync" option from preferences, but whenever I select an album, Aperture proceeds to go into "sync" mode.
HELP please, I have pictures I need to import, edit and get out...
    Thank you

I called Apple and first I was told that if I delete a Facebook or Flickr album from my library that the album would remain on Facebook or Flickr so I proceeded to delete them. As soon as I did a message came up that said something to the effect of "Deleting this album will delete the album on Facebook" I went into my Aperture, file, web accounts and disabled all of them to be sure...
Regarding the other question... I just needed more space on my internal hard drive.

  • Why has my library deleted everything after installing 7.6 upgrade?

Having transferred all my music - album by album (1500 tunes) to my new computer from my old one, I have just downloaded the 7.6 upgrade and ALL my music library has been deleted from i-Tunes.
I had an earlier deletion last week when I tried to transfer all my music from my i-Pod to my new computer, This resulted in ALL the music on my i-Pod being deleted.
Do I now have to start all over again by manually transferring all my albums back into i-tunes?
    Grateful for any advice.

Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

  • Iphoto library deleted

    Oh my what a mess.
I have deleted my i photo library.
I just loaded some photos from my iPad on to a newly created library.
I use time machine and have lots of backups.
Can I load the old photos from time machine onto iphoto or am I out of luck?
If it is possible are there instructions somewhere or can anyone give me the steps?
    Thank you
    Arthur

Quit iPhoto and Drag the iPHoto library to the desktop - launch TM and go back to a bood library time in TM and select the iPhoto library in TM - click restore - after the restore is complete launch iPhoto - if you want the photos form the iPHoto library on the desktop use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  to merge thtem in or switch to it by depressing the option key and launching iPhoto - then export the photos - option launch back to the main library (the one you restored) and import those photos
You tehn should be good to go

  • IPhoto library deleted - How do I get my pictures back?

    Hello,
I have just spent hours categorizing my pictures from my Mac HD into Iphoto folders. Once everything looked good, I deleted the Iphoto library on the HD just to save space. Pretty stupid!
The problem is that I see the grey frame of the pictures (called thumbnails?), but no pictures. How do retrieve the folder?
Has anybody a good piece of advice?
    Thanks,
    MacAms

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions
Did you put the Library into the trash and empty it?
The obvious solution here is to restore from your back up.
Otherwise: you can forget the library that you worked on. There is no way to recover that. It’s gone. The best you can do is recover the Photos and then start over with a New Library.
You will need a File Recovery utility to recover the files. File Salvage is one such. This will scan the HD for the deleted photos. It may find multiple versions of them. In every case choose to recover the largest filesize. This is most likely to be the Original photo.
Then create a new iPhoto Library: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library' import the pics and start over.

  • Deleting photo library, deleting photo library

i've swapped computers, upgraded itunes software etc, and now i'm left with a load of photo library pictures on my iphone 4s that i can't seem to delete taking up all my precious memory.  i;ve tried looking in the sync function, which is how they got there in the first place, but can't get rid of them!

Try going to Settings>General>Usage>Photos & Camera. Swipe to the right over Photo Library, then tap the delete button.

  • Storage showing 5GB of photos even though library deleted?

    Hi there,
I wanted to free up space on my MBA and as I have a Mac I thought I would get rid of all of the photos in iPhoto.
    1. Emptied iphoto and then emptied the iphoto trash
    2. Emptied the trash and then secure emptied the trash
    3. Deleted the iphoto library
Click on About my Mac and then storage and its still showing 5gb of photos...
Any ideas on what they could be and how to get rid of them to free up the valuable space?

    Hi,
icloud drive is not turned on, neither is Photo Stream (on the MBA anyway)
I have even deleted the photo library folder and then set up a new one... - this shows 5GB of photo's but nothing in the photo library?
    I am most confused...
    Thanks

  • Library deleted - Record iPod tracks on cd

I deleted all my itunes library (and all downloaded tracks), and now, I have all these tracks in my iPod, but I can´t record it on cd, or copy at new iTunes library... Any ideas?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You cannot burn a song onto a CD if it is only on your iPod (and not on your computer). You cannot move songs from iPod to computer using iTunes either.
You can use this software to move songs from iPod to computer (and into iTunes)...
    YamiPod
Once the songs are on your computer you can burn them to a CD (through iTunes).

  • IPhoto library delete and use Lightroom

    Dear all,
I've been searching for an answer to my specific issue but no luck yet.
I understand iPhoto and the duplicates it collects in the iPhoto 'file'. I read a few of T Devlin's posts!
However after some deliberation, I've decided to move to Lightroom instead of using iPhoto.
I don't mind manually sorting/collecting my photos in my own folders and not using iPhoto to help me manage them
Therefore, I've been wanting to delete that iPhoto duplicates 'file' but wondering if it is safe to do so without messing up my originals in their folders.
I intend to uncheck 'copy items in photo library...' option but wondering if that auto deletes the massive iPhoto file, or do I have to them go in and delete it manually?
Also, I want to reinstall my OSX onto an SSD and then use my 1TB as an extra drive. I'm guessing if I, at that point, re-check that option, it auto backs up the photos all over again?
    Thanks for your advice

1 -  You do not understand how iPhoto works - it never duplicates photos (it does have different versions - no duplicates)
2 - you should not ever import any photo into iPhoto with the Copy imported items to iPhoto unchecked - it is a recipe for many future problems
3 - to move to any other program including LR simply select your photos and export them - see Exporting From iPhoto - for details
4 - after your photos are safely out of iPhoto trash the iPhoto library
5 - if you do not use iPhoto you will never create another library - and if yo do use it you do not want a referenced library - see iPhoto and File Management
6 - you should not use both iPhoto and LR - they do the same thing in different ways and can not work together in any way

  • IPOD Music Library deleted itself :(

hi everyone....i'm having some very sad ipod problems
i'm using win xp on an asus a7v333 motherboard. up to now i've been using the usb 1.0 socket built into the motherboard to transfer files onto my ipod but i found a usb 2.0 card installed on the same board most recently. delighted, i started to use the usb 2.0 socket with an impressive boost in speed but i began to have problems. my 20gig ipod photo would disconnect itself from itunes and display an "ok to disconnect checkmark" without me wanting it to do so....confused i would disconnect the ipod and reconnect it....well today it did the same thing but this time all of the data on the ipod was removed. i did not remove any of the data myself and was adding songs at the time. this is a loss of 18 gigs of music and i'm not sure why the ipod formatted itself. if i check the library it is empty, including the playlists. if i check the music folder in ipod_control, it states that there is 7 gigs in there but it won't display any of it and like i said there was 18 gigs. where has my music gone and can it be restored?

you can copy your ipod songs back to your computer by:
