Library folders are Grayed out but images are there !?

I have several interanl HDs.
On one of them the images are divided into 2 folders
1 personal
2 work
both have many sub folders
I had just moved one folder from one sub folder to another using LR
After which in the library module
the work folder and all it's sub folders are grayed out and have no image totals
however the images are viewable and load and can be worked on in Dev module.
The image folders do not have question marks as they would if they could not be found.
The images are where they should be when I look for them in the finder.
The personal folder is functioning the same as the other
but all it's subfolders are grayed and without totals
The parent folder does have a total !
I optimized the Catalog.
I sync'ed folders
I shut down and restarted
Nothing has changed
I have no idea what to do.
any thoughts ?

Try rebooting your computer. In previous instances, that sometimes caused these phantom folders to disappear from Lightroom's folder pane.

How many Library folders are there???

I'm thoroughly confused. I copied all my websites from my PC to my MacBook Pro. I can access them by opening Finder and clicking my name (next to the house icon, between Desktop and Applications, then clicking Library > Webserver > sites. But when I navigate to a file and modify it, it still looks exactly the same when I preview it in a browser. It's as if I have two separate websites...and maybe I do.
An error message offers a clue: "Warning: mysql_connect():[etc.] in /Library/WebServer/sites/Geobop/include.php on line 5
The clue is the capital S on "WebServer." When I click on the Library folder under my name, it's spelled "Webserver."
So I'm trying to discover the location of this mysterious WebServer folder and/or the alternate Library folder.
If I go back to Finder and click Network (the first icon on the left), it reveals what appears to be a single page named Library. When I double click it, it says, "The alias 'Library' could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found," followed by option to Delete or Fix Alias.
Another weird thing is that the home page of this website displays whether I type in http://Geobop (as it's supposed to), http://GW/ (a different website) or http://localhost/, so maybe that's the problem. When I type in http://localhost/phpMyAdmin, it defaults to http://Geobop/localhost/
Still, a modified file ought to produce a modified browser display, regardless of the URL it's viewed at, right? The only thing I can think of is that I installed TWO copies of my website and can't locate the second one. Any tips?

This item is the folder /Library/WebServer/ starting from the top level of your hard disk, not from your home folder.

When I tried to back up my computer, Time Machine says 'an error occurred while creating the backup folder.' When I check the side of the partition where I manually saved old files, the folders are there, but NONE of the files are.

So you were doing a time machine backup to another partition on the same hard drive? Just trying to gather some information so i can provide a helpful response.

Try:

Custom will show automatically as soon as you just edit some options. So just go ahead, you don't need to select "custom"

When I type in my account password, the password "dots" gray out and the message "There has been an error" appears. I cannot access my computer in any way. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Old folders deleted from hard drive are grayed out but won't delete

Some kind of error occurred in lightroom 5 that caused a folder of photos I had previously imported to be grayed out and have a question mark. To the right where the number of photos shows, it says inval... (invalid?). The usual process for matching up missing photos didn't work and I got error messages. Finally I removed the folder of photos from the hard drive and copied it to another drive and renamed it. Then I copied it back to the hard drive where I usually store folders. This time the import worked as usual.

IPod applications won't download, apps area grayed out, but everything is working.

I was logged onto iTunes store, bought a new program, downloaded it, and then discovered it would not load into my iPod touch, and my iPod showed it was syncing okay. In fact, everything was updated and all indications were that nothing was amiss and everything was working. The software ran through every routine I tried, and the diagnostics tests showed everything was working perfectly -- just no app on the iPod. The apps area of my iPod in the iTunes software, however was grayed out and not accessible.
I followed several suggestions from the internet and these forums. I checked to be sure nothing was locked up, I reset the iPod, and when that didn't work, I restored it, after which I no longer had any downloaded programs on the iPod.
Solution: I was about to uninstall/reinstall the iTunes software on my PC, but first tried to repair it before uninstalling it in the Control Panel. Took a couple minutes.
Problem(s) solved. I redownloaded all my programs from my iTunes library, and lost no data in any of them.
I'm posting this because the answer was hiding in plain sight, so to speak. If I can just save one person the wasted time that I invested before trying the obvious, it will all have been worth it and there will be one more head of hair saved from being torn out. Too late for me, however.

In Windows, go Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs>iTunes> ...
you have options: repair and remove.

Why are duplicate titles grayed out but shown downloading?

I have an album downloaded from iTunes that shows duplicate titles of each song when looking on my iPod Music on my computer. These titles are grayed out and include the downloading symbol. I have deleted them several times but they always come back. What is going on?

I'm using CS4, have installed the contact sheet II feature since I was familiar with it. Just now tried your suggestion and was able to get all 9 pix as far as output preview in Bridge.

Why already purchsed songs / albums are not grayed out but are available to purchase again?

Songs and albums that I have already purchased appear available to buy again. Even If I try to buy them (again) I get not notification that I have already purchased it before. I have reset all relative warnings in itunes account. Shouldn't they be grayed out? Latest itunes version, windows 7. thanks.

I've just bought an album, downloaded it, and now when I search for it it's there, available to buy again!

Personally loaded music is gone, folders are there but empty.

Updated to iTunes 10, now all my personally loaded music is gone; the folders are all there but every song is gone. All my iTunes purchases are fine, just all the music I've loaded for 3 years is gone.

Can't see files on usb stick - folders are there but no files inside

Hello
I plugged in my usb stick to download some pictures I have on there. The folders of the different albums are there and the info says the folders are of the right size (5gb for instance) but the files do not show so I can't copy them onto my Mac.
I tried it on a pc and it shows all the picture files and works fine.
I originally downloaded the pictures from my camera whilst abroad on a PC in a cafe and then transferred to the USB.
Anyone got any clues?

Is Spotlight indexing the usb stick? Check the menu in the upper right.
If it is, wait for it to complete.

How many library folders are you suppose to have?

When I click on the HD it shows a library folder. When I click on my home folder, I also see a library folder. I am not talking about the individual application library folders i.e. iphoto, itunes and the like.

/Library (system wide library used for things all users of the Mac may need to share - Some apps store stuff here on install, Mac OS X stores system wide stuff here, such as your network preferences)
/System/Library (used by Mac OS X - keep your fingers out )
/Users/username/Library (one library per user where per user specific information is stored, such as application preferences, per user caches, your email, etc...)

Video options almost all grayed out -- but camera works

A number of quite important options are grayed out of my iChat, and I don't know why. For example, under Buddies, I can't select anything under "Send Instant Message". Most importantly, I can't select "Invite to video chat" or "Invite to one way video chat." Here's my setup.
I have a USB camera plugged in and working in iChat 4.0.5. When I say working, I mean that there is a little green video camera next to my name, and I can see myself (live) in the video pane when I select Video>Video preview. The camera is a Logitech Notebook Deluxe. It shows up in the System Profiler and, as I mentioned, it seems to work with iChat.
I tried the suggestions in this post, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9772013&#9772013, but it did not work.
Is there a certain provider (e.g., AIM, google) that does/doesn't work. I tried AIM and google and -- nothing.
Anyone know what's going on?

In Leopard and Earlier you have to set your International Preferences in System Preferences to the United States. Some people have said this works if you are not in the United States but you can only Contact US phones.

My inbox is suddenly empty & won't retrieve new emails (use Thunderbird / Windows 7). All other boxes/folders are there just nothing in the inbox .

From my main computer, all old emails that were in the Inbox are suddenly gone & I cannot receive new emails. All other folders/boxes are there (nothing has happened to those files) and I can send emails. I can see the emails in the inbox through my providers site. I have a laptop and the Thunderbird email account on it is working fine. I've compared all the email settings between the main computer & laptop & both are the same. Can you please tell me how to get the old & new emails on my main computer?

After trying lots of other ideas (including removing a mail account and recreating it), I have deleted my preference files and my Library/Mail folder. Starting over completely from scratch seems to have fixed it.
I'm disappointed that I could find a better solution.
