"Library.lvlib on Main Application Instance" Window Title, is this Lib still associated with previous project?

Hey folks,
Hopefully this is a quick and easy one- I have a device that I already have a driver for which was placed into a lvlib along with the subvi's inside the driver (etc etc). This lvlib was put together while I was working on a past project which I think was called "Main Application".
I'm new to lvlibs I guess, I just want to know if there is some sort of association between this lib and the old project I had, because after saving as, in a new location, opening up the lvlib shows the lib windows that says "Library.lvlib on Main Application Instance"...
Can anyone confirm that this is normal? Does this title show up on all lvlibs regardless of where it's used?

I haven't had a chance to test it yet, I'm still working on the project that it's going to be implemented in... Talking to a few other people at work I think it's normal.

I just bought an I-Phone 5S. When plugging it to my Macbook for the 1st time to copy music from my I-Tunes, this message comes up: "The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library on “localhost". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
Pls help. I'm always so scared I can loose all my contacts if i am to answer "yes". Also, why am I being told the IPhone is synced with another ITunes Library when it's litterally not been connected to any at all? I dont get it.
What shall I do?

This would indicate that you bought a Used iPhone and/or have Connected it to another iTunes Library.
By design an iPhone can only sync to One iTunes Library at a time.

I am fighting the same error. I gifted an album to mydaughter and she got that when she tried to cash it in. iTunes support was quick to respond saying the would refund in 5 to 7 days. That was 13 days ago and they will not respond now. Try to contact support to see if they can help. Also be sure you do not have restrictions enabled in settings. If your parental controls are set to block certian content ratings this will give you an error as well.
You could also try to purchacs through the iTunes program on Mac or PC. Check your restrictions there too. If your device is company owned your employers may have restrictions enabled preventing certian apps from being installed. Hope that helps.

After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. This didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?

It also tells me that home sharing isn't on even though it is and then I have to turn it off and on on the PC so the Apple TV even recognizes the photo library. These issues didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?

Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'. Followed the instructions to the foot of the page, restarted PC, normal service resumed on windows firewall, added itunes to list to communicate through firewall. restarted itunes, restarted appletv, success!!!

Windows 7 won't allow file association with CC apps. Why?

The title says it all. Any app I installed that replaced a prior version won't link. I go in manually and attempt to create a file type association and Windows simply ignores the request. There are no error messages. I hestitate to dive into regedit with really knowing what I am doing but I did look and see that Photoshop is showing 2 versions (12 with a path to CS5 and 70 with a path to CC). Indesign has no folders and apaprently no value set and the same is true of LR. Acrobat on the other hand, works fine. All programs function correctly as long as I open the program first and then open the file.
I realize thids is a relatively minor thing but I teach these programs and have to download the files from a university website shell. Having to manually do this with 30 files/assignment is a royal pain.

So you have use the backup and Restore to restore your files from Windows XP to Windows 7 directly?
This should be considered not work.
If you would like to transfer files between Windows XP and Windows 7, you need another tool called Windows Easy Transfer.
See the article below if you would like to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7:

If possible, follow the steps there, then things should be OK.

My husband and I have one computer and we each have our own iTunes, but now when I go to download purchased songs to my library, I get a message stating that an Apple ID is already associated with this computer, and I cannot use my Apple ID for 28 days...

If you selected open a new Apple ID account, go back a step and enter use existing Apple ID.
You will have to set up a separate iCloud account or your iPads will mirror each other.

Multiple application instances and inter process communication.

I am looking at having a main application instance spawn individual application instances. But when launching another instance I need to message the main application so it can spawn a window.
How do I go about communicating between application instances in order to do this ?

RMI is your best bet - or, if the IPC is pretty simple, then you could just open a simple socket listener in the primary app...

Application causes Windows fault in lvrt.dll among others...

I have an application that will occasionally crash due with a Windows error. It states that the error is in the lvrt.dll file. It lists 80 different modules in the technical information area of the warning. I have tried to reinstall all NI hardware and software and the error will still occur. it always happens at the same point in the software if it is goign to happen. This occurs right after pushing the start button the first time through the software. If I reboot the PC, the software will normally run fine for a while. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem? I have included the main application. I am running this application as an executable on the PC in question. The PC is Windows XP SP2, with a Pentium II 863 MHz and 512Mb of RAM.

When the problem occurs, it happens at the same time, once you double click on the executable.  I was doing some testing last night, it seemed better once I reset the compact daq device in Max.  Do you think it has anything to do with the Daq device and how it sets up?  Is there a way of programatically reseting the the daq device at startup (right now daq (digital and analog) start right away once the program is executed).
I looked ath the error log file that was created and it points the ApplLib - don't know if this could help.  The system has just left to the customer for a "demo" but will be back in a few days.

Getting a VI reference from specific application instance via ActiveX

I have a DLL that a C program calls to pass data into my application. For performance sake, we had to use ActiveX to get the data into my application. I Open an ActiveX reference to my application and then open a VI reference to a Packet Stack and throw the data right into a queue. If I am developing, I change an INI setting to use the LabVIEW ActiveX server. This worked fine in 7.1 with the EXE and LabVIEW.
I recently upgraded the project to 8.5. The EXE still works with no issues, but in LabVIEW, the DLL always opens up the VI in the Main Application Instance. If I start my program in the Main Application Instance, then everything works fine. The problem is if I launch my program froms its project. Then my program is running in the My Application Instance, and when the DLL calls the Packet stack, the packets don't get put into the queues in My Application.
I saw this thread where Ben used VI server to find out what project a VI belonged to. This started me looking into using a similar method, but it seems I have to traverse the entire project to get to the VI to open a reference to it. What I would prefer to do is look in two places, Main Application and My Application for the VI and determine its run state. I was hoping there was some way in the VI name for open VI reference that I can specify the instance.
Please note that I am using ActiveX, not TCP/IP VI Server, so I do not believe the method outlined here can be used.

I think this should help. I have never used the ActiveX interface but this is what I think that you want.
Off course you need to translate this into C but that shouldn't be the problem

Change icon & window title - for Mac projectors? (but not Zinc)

I need to change the icon and window title for a Mac projector made with CS5 (on Windows).
I know there are a few solutions for the Windows exe.
But I can't find an affordable solution for the Mac projector. Any ideas?
I tried the Windows version of Zinc, it created exactly what I need for both the PC and Mac - but there's no way I'm paying $800+ for Zinc just to change the icon and window title.

My feeling was that there was a residual window spec left
over from a previous build. (You can go on adding windows via
Project>Windows rightclick.)
Now - if you Open <yourprojectname>.hpj the project
summary is displayed in dialog format. The first line reads 'This
file is maintained by HCW. Do not modify this file directly.'
Nevertheless, it is possible to do so - doubleclick on any of the
sections to bring up an editable dialog on its settings. There are
buttons at right, too, that replicate several of the doubleclicks.
I'm annoyed that I can't remember which file stores all this data
in an accessible form.
In the General tab of the resulting Windows dialog there are
the options to Add, Remove and Include window types and enter/edit
Title texts. It's worth having a look at what's shown here just in
case there is an Include being copied from another (and possibly no
longer available?) project file.
Perhaps try this (having backed up, of course!!):
1 Note the required spec for your second window.
2 Open the .hpj windows dialog and Remove any and all windows
apart from Main.
3 Open the project and see if the ghost is still there.
4 Is it??

Load/Unload Component from Main Application

I want to load in my main application 2 components. At this moment I load them with this:

and I only set visible to true. Inside this component there is a canvas.
But, is there any other way to do this using an AS class file? I would like to load/unload it on click, not only set true/false to visible.

For dynamic creation and destruction of objects, you want to use ActionScript.
So in your main app file, you might have a button that triggers a click handler that does this:

Utilities and SDK for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications in Windows 8 doesn't install

Trying to install the package and well into the process I get an error message saying that my processor isn't supported and to contact my vendor.. I have a Lenovo U 410 LT with Win 8 Pro. It has an Intel Core i7 processor. I also tried the AMD version thinking they may have been swapped but it also does not install. How to get it installed? I really need the NFS in it.

I’m sorry to hear that there is an error message displayed in your U410 Laptop while installing “Utilities and SDK for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications in Windows 8”, make sure you are installing this application as an Administrator User, if the issue is same even in this user account, I suggest you to download the package again and right click in the downloaded file select “Run as administrator” to get it installed in administrator mode, below is the link to download the SDK package:
