Library not showing up

This morning, my library was fine.  Now, I get this....any thoughts?  (I'm sure it's going to be something embarassingly simple...)  I am using Captivate 4.0 on a Windows NT machine.

FINALLY (thanks to an apparently more brilliant friend of mine) found a similar post, that was solved by Captiv8r.  Bad .dat file.

Content Library not showing.  No answer found.  It is NOT at the top as some say.  Where did it go and where is it?  What's the best alternative to this stupid iMovie program.  So frustrating.  It was working a month ago.

So what happens if you choose to proceed with opening the library?
Do you have a library backup, for example on Time Machine?
I have automatic dated backups of all my iMovie 10 libraries but I can't remember how I set it up and there is no mention of backups in iMovie help.  (It is doing the same thing as FCP 10.1 does).  I have never tried to restore from them though.

  • I purchased a new computer.  Why when I log in to itunes does my library not show up

I purchased a new computer.  Why when I log in to itunes does my library not show up?

I'm confused....if itunes is basically storing your music for you and you log in, why doesn't that automatically default to your account and display all of you music.  What's really strange is, if I have my old laptop on and I am logged into itunes it showed up on my new laptop.  But when I log out, it's gone

  • Library not showing on iPad

I downloaded some TV shows. They show in the library on my computer but do not show up as a selection when I connect my iPad.
    Any ideas how to correct?

    Hello smokin01,
In iTunes on your computer, you can stream purchased media, but the TV shows will need to be downloaded to your computer before you can sync them to your iPad.
You will see an iCloud icon on the TV show in iTunes if you are streaming it:
If this is the case, there are two options transfer your shows to your iPad: (1) download the TV shows directly to your iPad from your previous purchases list on your iPad and (2) download the TV show to iTunes and then sync.  You can find the steps to download these purchases to your computer or your iPad at the following link:

  • Films in itunes library not showing as available to sync?

I have around 8 films listed in my itunes library but 6 of them are not showing up as available to sync to my ipod touch. I have bought all the film through itunes with the latest only the other day; it is this film and the previously bought film that are the only ones showing up as available to sync. I have successfully synced film and TV before to my ipod but out of the blue seem to be having trouble this time.
In saying the only 2 are seem to available to sync when I do try to sync them they are not showing up on my device, even though the memory bar of the ipod shows that a number of GB of data has been added; they are there but they're not no matter how much I search my device or tick and untick 'sync' and 'unsync'.
Can anyone help me find out why the films I do 'seem' to be syncing aren't showing up on my ipod touch and why none of my films in my library are showing up for syncing anymore?? Thanks.

    - Have yo used the Spotlight search on the iPod. Maybe yu just can't find them
    - Do the non-syncing ones play in iTunes on the computer?

  • Photos in Library not showing on Apple TV

Have recently found that new photos I have saved to iphoto that can be viewed on my Mac do not appear in my library on Apple TV. 'Recent Imports', 'events' etc. do not show them.  I have tried restarting my Apple TV, switching off and switching back on Home Share but they do not appear.  Have checked preferences in iphoto and correct boxes ticked but still no joy, any suggestions please.

Yes, tried that but all that happened was that my Home Sharing although shown turned on on both Apple TV and iTunes did not allow me to connect to my Library, could access You Tube so WiFi connection O.K.. Tried switching Home Sharing off and then on again on Apple TV but that didn't access my Library so had to go back into iTunes on my Mac and switch off Home Sharing and switch it back on again there which then allowed me access to my Library. This resolved the problem as photos I had just taken were now viewable ( This however has happened before so not a new problem, suspect the router but as I am changing ISP soon, going to BT Infinity, hope that will solve that problem.)

  • Aperture library not showing up in upload browser

When I go to upload Aperture photos to the web, my Aperture library is not listed in the media browser. Only iPhoto and Photo Booth is there. I've had to go into Aperture and export the photos to upload them. This started to happen after I upgraded to Lion. Any suggestions?

Aperture did not show up in any other apps, but I found an discussion started by someone with the same issue, and the issue was resolved by creating a new library, then swicthing back to your original library. I tried this and it worked for me also. Here is the discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2338518?start=0&tstart=0

  • Aperture library not showing in mail, iweb or iphoto

After upgrading to 3.1 my Aperture Library is not coming up in other applications. It also is not showing up as an option for screen saver. Anyone have this issue?

Do you have everything looking right inside the library? Can you go into your Aperture library bundle and see if you have the following files: an ApertureData.xml file, an iLifeShared folder, and inside the iLifeShared folder a file called ApertureDatabaseTimestamp?

of course it disappears when you close your laptop. itunes has to be running for appletv to connect to itunes!
the appletv has no user storage, it is streaming only.

  • Library Not showing in New Install

    Hi there
Just reinstalled a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) on a SDD.
I installed Itunes and it detected that I have songs purchased and downloaded them... I can see them in my main Music Library.
I then went to import my entire music library which is on a Internal HDD but seperate from the SDD where I tunes is installed. (221GB of music and Vids)  the program imported all the files and took forever to do it... once complet I opend Music Library and there was nothing there except for the purchased music I downloded before importing all my music.
The Imported music does however show in Recently Added playlist. I have created a New playlist and added all my songs from Recently added to this new playlist called 'All My Music'  though this play list contains all my downloaded iBooks books, Videos and Music.
I have tried everythign I know but can't get my library to show in my Main Libraries instead of just in the playtlists!
Olease Help, it will be greatly appreciated!
    Regards
    J

That article is for moving the folder in the same Mac. Those steps won't work as given when you want to move to another Mac. That's why things were pointing from the old Mac to the new Mac; all you did was copy the tracks and then reset the library on the old Mac. And changing the location of the iTunes Music folder in the iTunes Advanced preference only changes where future additions will go; it does not change where iTunes looks for it's existing content, so changing that on the new computer didn't do anything.
If you have everything working correctly again on the old iMac - all your content is located and plays correctly, all your playlists are intact - then see the section titled "Moving your Content to a New Computer" on this web page:

  • Library not showing up in iTunes

New Windows 7 computer; iTunes downloaded okay, but doesn't recognize my library either on my external hard drive(was original location noted in "preferences") or on the copy I made on the computer's hard drive (updated preferences). Tried re-loading iTunes and turning off the firewall, nothing has worked - library still not showing on the screen when I click in the left-hand bar (movies, music, etc.)

    Close iTunes.
Hold the Shift key and launch iTunes.
When prompted to create a new library or select an existing library, choose the option to select a library.  Point iTunes to the library file.
