Library photo folders

My photos were all separated in Library photo folders but some how they ended up in 1 library photo folder.  How can I get my photos back in the separate folders.  Or, can I add library folders to separate the photos again.

You're referring to Events, right?  Folders in iPhotoi appear in the left hand pane and can only contain other folders, albums, slideshows, books, etc.
The best way to restore your Events is to restore you library from a backup copy made just prior to this problem occurring.
Otherwise you can set the Event splitting options in iPhoto's General preference pane:
Then select all of the photos in the 1 Event and use the Events ➙ Create Event menu option:

  • Aperture Library photo folders are not updated in iTunes view

The list of photo folders in Aperture doesn't update which doesn't allow me to select them and sync with my iPad. Selecting ALL would be too many for the iPad (60,000 plus).
I put new photos into Aperture 3.0 and can't get them onto my iPad.
    Suggestions?

I can't really help, but I have the same problem. I really need to convert one of the RAW images in Aperture to a DNG using the Adobe DNG converter, but the converter can't find the image because the folders haven't updated.
I have restarted Aperture, the computer, all of the programs. Nothing seems to work. I don't know why the folders in the Pictures folder wouldn't match the folders in the Aperture Library. Most of them are the same, why not all?

  • Photo folders in Finder disappeared

My photo folders in Finder from 6/07 to present disappeared after a crash and a rebuild. The library reverted to the last time I crashed and rebuilt which was in May. I've tried finding .jpgs over 30kb using Finder,I tried the File Salvage program, nothing. Just boom gone. iPhoto doesn't see them, presumably cuz they aren't there. I'm using iPhoto 5.04. Oh yeah, I did Disk First Aid from the boot disk as well. Any ideas? Could my database before the (most recent) crash be in the Mac bowels somewhere since apparently my rebuilt db from 5/07 was?

  • New Photo Folders for Ipod Touch

How do I make new folders for certain photo groups for my Ipod Touch.I have folders already made up on my computer with the photos I want in them, but when I go to upload them on my touch,it puts all my photos under photo library.I know you can make new folders and name them,so could someone tell me how?? Thanks

It's simple. On a Windows system you place all your photo folders in the My Pictures folder. When you sync and tap on Photos on the touch you'll see at the top Photos Library with a count of every photo you have. That is created by the iPod and you can't remove it (you can, but it will come back). Then you'll see each folder you put in My Pictures. Tap on any one of them and you'll see all the photos in that folder!
So just set up your My Pictures to have a set of folders, each of which has the pictures you want under each name.

  • Photo folders or albums

Photo folders or albums in the camera. is there a way to initiate folders or album while photos are still in the camera? I know I can do this with apps... but how about photos?

    You don't.
iPhoto works on a Library system, like iTunes.
So, like iTunes, where every song is in the Library, you make play lists. Songs can be in many playlists and use no extra disk space. In iPhoto all the shots are in the Library and a shot can be in many albums using no extra disk space. If you remove a photo from the Library it's also removed from the albums.

  • How to delete new, unwanted photo folders

I just got the brand new itunes update and put some new photos on my iphone and now i have 2 new photo folders: photo library and the name of the folder from the computer i put on there. Both folders contain the 2 pictures i wanted to put on the phone but now i don't need them on there and i can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of them. I tried going into itunes and deselcting the folders like i'd read to do on here but there is no option to deselect folders or anything and i can't swipe right to delete them on my phone or anything. Any help would be appreciated cause this is ******* me off lol Why do apple make it so god **** hard to just delete unwanted ****?!

  • IPhoto crashes when importing photo-folders that contain aliases

When iLife '06 came out I decided to move my iPhoto-library to a bigger disk by simply creating a new library and re-importing my >10000 photo's. All I got was crashes.
It has taken me quite some time to find out that an alias to the TOP of my photo-folders inside one of the folders deep down in the tree was causing this.
Removing the alias 'cured' the problem...
I suggest Apple writes a fix that makes sure iPhoto does not follow these kinds of aliases, that cause some kind of endless loop...

    Suggest that at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html

  • How to eliminate multiple invisible "Recovered Photos" folders?

    Background:
    OS 10.7.5
MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    iPhoto 11 9.4.2
    iTunes 11.0.2 (26)
    15,258 photos
When I go to sync any iDevice in iTunes 11, multiple "Recovered Photos" folders appear as folders in the "Albums" list.
These folders "Recovered Photos," "Recovered Photos(1)," etc. do NOT appear in my iPhoto 11 Albums.
At present they appear to cause no harm, but I'm one who believes that "where there's smoke, there's fire" in the "computers behaving weirdly" department, so I set about to find and eliminate these phantom folders.
I tried all the "rebuild/restore" functions in iPhoto. This did not work.
I tried iPhoto Library Manager 3.8.6 (have not paid to upgrade to 4) to rebuild the library. This resulted in the "Recovered Photos" folders all appearing in the iPhoto Albums list where they were deletable, but all my Keywords and Smart Albums had been wiped out.
Any ideas on how to end up with a clean iPhoto library, complete with keywords, albums and smart albums preserved, but without these phantom folders, or is this library FUBAR?
    Thanks,
    Rob

You can use the free demo of iPLM 4 to rebuild the library.
    You can try the following:
    1 - close iPhoto.
2 - open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder:
3 - move the AlbumData.xml file to the Desktop.
4 - lanuch iPhoto and check to see if there's any change.
If that doesn't help you can move the file back into the package if there's any problem with the library.  If not then trash it.

  • PSE 12 renames my imported photo folders?

Hi, I'm new to Photoshop and elements.  I downloaded a trial version of PSE 12 to my mac, and imported my photo folders.  It looks like PSE has renemed all my folder with strings of letters and characters.  How can I retrieve my original folder names, or figure out how to identify the folders PSE has created? Thanks so much for your help.

Ok, so I'm trying to deduce what has happened...I now see that (relief) my orginal folder names are mixed in with all the (many) newly created folders with the jumbled names, and the new folders represent duplicate sets.  This seems to be because of iphoto, which I think I need to delete altogether--never liked it.  It was extremely confusing bc when I did the 'reveal in finder' function, the location of the folder is a long string of info: /Volumes/Main external hard drive oct 2013/Main photo folder/NC/NC 5/iPhoto Library.photolibrary/Thumbnails/2013/07/30/20130730-110355.
I am trying to keep all photos on an external HD, aka 'Main external Hard Drive', but the iphoto library snuck into one of my folders when I was transferring them from the main HD to the external HD.  This created many duplicates.  I just deleted it.
Do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall PSE 12 to get rid of the many duplicate file folders?  Would that be the simplest fix?
I really appreciate your help.  Thanks.

  • New photo folders.......

For some reason i have two new photo folders on my iphone4s.  One is titled MY PICTURES and the other PHOTO LIBRARY.  I cant delete eithere the folders or the images inside them.  i have browsed the communities for items in this matter.  can some one help me delete this stuff.  i just dont have a need for the images or the folder and im a tech idiot.  thank you

Photo Library is always on everyones iphone and cannot be deleted.  It is where ALL photos synced to the iphone are stored.  My Photos is likely a folder from your computer that you selected to sync.
If you want to remove it then open itunes, connect iphone, deselect the folder and sync.

  • Exporting library to folders

    Hello!
Quick question: is it by any chance possible to export the entire library (~ 20gb) into folders with the same names as the project names? It would be more easy for me to backup more important folders, etc.
I'm using Aperture 3.0 by the way.
    Cheers!
    Per

Well I'd like to have everything in my Library/Photos, categoriezed in folders - not in a Library-file. I think my workflow would be better, that way. When importing photos from my cameras today, everything goes into the Aperture Library-file. I don't want that. Any option or quick resolution to export all my projects in Aperture to Library/Photos/<project name> and in the future to do this automatically aswell.

  • Photo Folders in IOS 7.1

I have an iPad (2nd gen.) running IOS7.1 (latest update).  I want to have separate photo folders in IOS7. I was able to do this on my iPod (3rd gen.) running IOS 5.1. I want to do the same thing on the iPad. I tried to drag and drop the folders onto the iPad but this won't work. I'm using a Win 7 laptop as my computer.

The folders need to be in a single containing folder and sync the container to achieve what yoyu are asking.

  • What's the best way to move photo folders from internal to external HD using LR to track change?

I am trying to move my photo folders from Pictures on an iMac running Mavericks to an external HD as my main photo storage and to do so with LR 5.6 keeping track of the folders. I have 20K plus photos in the Catalog in the iMac's HD and wouldn't want LR to loose track of the photos. I am not creating duplicates but moving all the files w/original photos and edits.
Is there a good and safe method to use LR to perform this task?

In your operating system, move the photos to the external HD, keeping the folder structure unchanged, and then in Lightroom reconnect using these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • How do i download 15 photo folders to my ipad. it only lets me download one. if i try download another folder, it deletes the previous folder.

how do i download 15 photo folders to my ipad. it only lets me download one. if i try download another folder, it deletes the previous folder.

You need to select and sync them in one go. Photos that you sync from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so you've effectively been telling iTunes to replace the folder that you've just synced with a new folder

  • Question about photo folders

I have some photo folders on the Touch, but once they are on, how do you delete them if you need/want to?

    Hi njchalupa,
Currently you can't delete photos or photo albums directly from the iPod Touch.
If you want to delete an entire photo album, you'll have to connect your iPod to the computer and uncheck the correspondent photo folder.
If you want to delete certain photos from a photo album, you'll have to delete or take out those pictures from the folder on your computer.
    Hope this helps!
