Library sub vi's
I need some sub vi's- Ai aquire waveform.vi,Ai group config.vi,Ai hardware config.vi,Ai buffer config.vi,Ai clock config.vi,Ai single scan.vi
These sub-vis are part of the NI-DAQ driver install. Either you have not yet installed NI-DAQ or they have been deleted.
You can download the currnet NI-DAQ here for all OS's.

On left side of iPhoto page in the column entitled "source" the first topic
is called "Library". When I open "Library" the following sub folders are "Early Photos" "2003" "2004" "2005" and "2006".
Question is it possible to add and change the names of these folders?

You can't change the name of those folders as they are hard coded into the app.
You can however make smart albums for each year. You can also use the calendar pane and click on a year to see the photos in that year. -
Creating a static library with XCode cross-project references.
I have a project and am trying to move a lot of the code into a static shared library, and added a cross project reference to this library in my app.
However, when I moved a file from my app to the library (removing the reference in my app and moving the file to the library's project directory), and try building my app, I get compiler error messages as if the file I have moved doesn't exist.
When I build my library project, it says the build has succeeded, but the library.a file remains red. It is also red in the my referencing app project.
If anybody has any experience setting up cross-project references in XCode, I'd appreciate any help.
If it helps identify where the problem is, I've performed the following steps to setup the library and cross-project reference:
1. I created a new Cocoa Touch static library project in XCode which would house the shared code.
2. I changed the global settings in XCode to place the build products in a shared build directory (rather that the project directory), and made sure the intermediate build files are placed with the build products.
I changed this using the Preferences menu, but have also gone into the project info for both my app project and the library project and made made sure it is set to place the build projects in the custom shared build directory.
3. I then added a Source Tree, and made sure that the Path of the project directory of the library project.
4. I added a project reference to the library project's .xcodeproj file in my application project. I changed the library project reference so that it was relative to JIGSAW24LIBRARY.
5. I configured the library dependencies by going to my app's target's info, and adding a direct dependency to the library project.
6. In my app's info build tab, I changed the user header search paths so that it uses the search tree I setup (I used the $(SEARCHTREE_NAME) notation, but checked that this resolves to a valid path). I also made sure that the Always Search User Paths checkbox is checked, and that the Library Search Paths is blank.
7. I click-dragged the library.a file under the library project so that it was under the Link Binary With Library sub folder of my app's target.
For step 5, I've also tried adding the reference to the other project as a linked library, rather than a direct dependency, but this doesn't seem to work either.I managed to fix the problem. The steps above seem to be correct. The problem seems to be related to the source trees that are defined...
I was previously using an absolute path for the source tree which pointed at the folder containing the library project. I changed this to a relative path to the same folder (relative from the calling project) and this seems to fix it.
I'd double checked that the absolute path specified was correct, so it looks like the user header search paths specified must be relative to the current project. -
Updated iTunes and my library is gone now...
I updated my iTunes on my iMac to the 10.3.1 version. When I went to reuse it again after rebooting, I noticed my desk top was wiped clean and placed into a folder called "Desktop" in my HD.
Then when I went to open iTunes, it opened as if I had never had iTunes installed on my comp before. My music was wiped out, playlists gone, etc.. I found my music on my HD, however I could not get iTunes to load up with my personal information. What did I do wrong? Or what can I do to get my iTunes back to what it was (with playlists, play counts, music, album art, etc.)
**I think I made a mistake by dragging my music from my HD into iTunes...**
I also noticed that my desktop was restored with my files and folders again when I rebooting my computer for the second time...and these items were no longer placed in a "Desktop" folder on the HD.
Not sure what's going on with that iTunes update.
I also have a Time Machine...so if need be I can restore my computer back to what it was before I updated iTunes, right? And if I do...how do I prevent this whole issue from happening again when I update iTunes?
Thanks so much for your time everyone...hope someone can help!Sounds like Itunes lost your Library file right after update for some reason. You should not have copied the music again. Quit Itunes, In finder go to where your music is stored and drag the Itunes library file from there to the desktop. In the Itunes Folder, open the Previous Music library sub -folder and see the library file w/the date of when you upgraded Itunes (not the one where you dragged the music back in). Drag this file from this inside folder to the Itunes Folder and name it Itunes Library. Now open Itunes and it should be all there.If it it did not help, may yyou used the wrong "previous library file" You could check your library files to find the one you need--Quit Itunes and launch it while holding Option button, click on Choose library and navigate to the Music/Itunes folder and go inside the Previous Music and try one of those library files to see if they have your staff as you remember it. If you find the correct one, you would need to switch your Itunes Library file w/the one you found (drage the original out of there and then put the one you found in its place adn name it Itunes library) and then switch Itunes library back to it.

Accessing library vi that has no icon
Hi, my name is Matthias.
I am working (as a noob) on LabView 7.1. After I have done some vis myself I am facing some troubles now and hope, someone can help.
1.) I have installed lvwutil32 library, that offers some system functionality. Part of this library is WINUTIL.LLB. The library offers most of the functions I will need for my project. But something is very strange about this library: Some vis do not appear/ are invisible/ are not usable through the user library menu, although they are part of the library (and listed as vi). There is a Screenshot attached, showing the content of my WINUTIL.LLB. I have marked all vi that have an icon in my user library menue. As You can see, there are some vis (plz ignore the control) that are part of the library, but I can not use them in my own vi as I can't select them. The Icon is missing in my user library sub menue. As You can see, I already marked all vis as top-level vi (this was a hint of a pal). But that didn't fix the problem. The icon of the vi "Set Window Z-Position" is still not available (see also second Screenshot).
How can this problem be resolved?
2.) Another Problem is, that I was experimenting/ trying some features and I created a second library Icon that I cannot delete. The option Tools/ Advanced/ Edit palette views.../ Delete SubMenue is not active/ can not be selected. The second screenshot is showing the two (similar) icons and in adition to that You can see, that the vi "Set Window Z-Position" is in fact not accessible from the menue.
How can I delete SubMenue Icons that have been created by mistake (are existing twice)?
If there are any more details to mention, let me know.

How do I move my contacts from TimeMachine to my new Mac?
Hi all. My old MBP was one with a faulty nvidia graphics card, and it conveniently went out 22 days after the warranty was void, so I've since bought a new MBA currently running 10.7.2. I have a few contacts on my TimeMachine backup from my old MBP that I'll never get again in my entire life if I can't move them over from my external hard drive. Is there a way to do it? I don't particularly want to restore my old machine on the new one—only the contacts from AddressBook. Can it be done? Help!
-stewartNormal files are relatively easy, via the Browse Other Backup disks option, but this is a tough one.
AddressBook contacts are, well, weird. The way they're stored makes it very difficult to find them; and you can't use the browse option with the special handler for Address Book contacts.
They're stored in the <your home folder>/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder. Each contact is a separate file inside the Metadata folder there, but you can't tell which one is which, since they're named with UUIDs that look like gibberish, not anything recognizable to us mere mortals.
Here's what I'd suggest:
Use the Migration Assistant app to transfer part of the user account from the old Mac's backups (temporarily).
For details, see Using Migration Assistant on Lion. If that user account has the same as an existing one on your new Mac, rename it, per the last sample in the pink Migrating User Accounts box.
Select only the user account that has the contacts, and exclude all its sub-folders. That will transfer everything in the Library sub-folder, including, of course, all the contacts.
Log on to the transferred account. Start the AddressBook app and locate the contacts you want.
For each one, select the contact, then File > Export > Export vCard from the menubar. Select a destination (such as the default of the special Shared user account) for the contact.
Log on to the account where you want the contacts and start AddressBook. Click File > Import from the menubar. That should default to the Shared user account; select all the contacts and click the Open button to import them.
When done, delete them from the Shared user account, and delete the temporary user account. -
NWDI setup, problem while deploying .sca files on SAP PI 7.1 server

Flash Player keeps failing in safari
I am using mac OS X Yosemite.
For some unknown reason flash keeps failing in safari, but works in chrome. I can't seem to resolve this issue, This is what I tried so far from answers I received in the apple support forums:

We have also run diagnostics on my mac but could not resolve this and eventually I was told the only thing left to do is seek support from adobe.

Any reason NOT to create subfolders under user folder?
I'm switching over from a 5+ year old MacBook Pro to a new one. I do a lot of audio recording and production work. On my old machine, which was my first Mac, I created a subfolder 'Recordings' under my user folder (let's say it's named "bob"). I don't remember why I did that. Probably I was thinking well, this stuff isn't documents.
On the new machine, running Yosemite, I discovered that Apple in it's wisdom had made my "bob" user folder hidden, which meant I had to go figure out how to show it because there are some audio plugin settings files I needed to add manually from the old machine into my user/ Library area. Did that.
BUT... I'm wondering if there is some reason why Apple changed the user folder to hidden (other than "you dumb users don't need to know about this stuff"), and specifically, if I should avoid creating any subfolders under my user folder? I would really rather not have my 'Recordings' folder inside the Documents folder, but I guess I can if there's some good reason not to create subfolders under 'bob'.
Thanks in advance.They didn't make it hidden (like the Library sub folder), but I believe it is no longer included in the sidebar by default. Probably for the reason you state. As you've found, you can add it back through Finder Preferences menu.

I have done this using the tutorial :

Deployement finished successfully.
But from GP design time, while creating callable object
of type backround execution, I selected,

implementation class name : the java class which implemented background callable object.
But error in gp: is
"Cannot find this class name"

You just need to repeat the steps described in the tutorial, i.e. define the references and create a class that implements the GP Background callable object interface.
Don't forget to define the sub-type of the library in the .dcdef file.

Then add a new empty file named "build.vm" under the folder "cfg". Add the line "#BuildSecondaryLibrary()".

"new document or drag files here" not visible
Hi,
I gave "Collaboration" permission to Visitors (read only users) in a document library
sub folder.
My problem is:
users can't see the "new document or drag files here" option, so the only way to upload a file is in the ribbon: "File" -> "Upload document"
That's confusing for the users.
Setting Collaboration on the entire doc lib will solve the issue but users will be able to add/edit/delete on the root folder.
Is there a way to see the "new document" option or avoid collaboration on the root folder?I ended up creating an event handler, I think it's the only way...

I've created an event receiver on the Document library that disables collaboration only inside the root folder

There is a bug when doing “export mailbox” and import mailbox functionality.
Workaround:
> Open Finder and under the “Go” menu, hold down the option key. The “Library” sub-menu will show up.
> Copy the entire “Library > Mail” folder to a USB disk (it will not work if copying to a shared drive for some reason)
> Take the USB disk to the new computer and do an “Import Mailbox” and select the copied Data file. There will be LOTS of folders that come up for import, you can browse through and deselect what you don’t need (e.g. trash or junk mail), OR just import everything and then clean up from your mailbox.

SHAZAM!! You solved it for me. When you told me to check the directories before, I was already in Users/yourname/etc. I didn't realize there was another Library at the System level. The profiles were there, glaring at me like they'd been there the whole time. Imagine that.
All the subfolders you mentioned were in there respective places too.
But that brings up another question... One always leads to another, right?
Why do I have three 'Library' folders that all have Colorsync folders with different profiles in them???
I've got one at StartUpDrive/Library/subfolders
another at StartUpDrive/System/Library/subfolders
and a third at StartUpDrive/username/Library, though this one hasn't been modified since 2004. Can I delete it?

Is there a way to change the size of a menu background?
I would like to use my own photo as a menu background and reduce it's size to less than the full size of the menu.
The photo selection sticks over a save and re-open but the size of the object reverts to the full menu size when the project is reloaded.If I were replacing a Background in a Menu Set, and only wanted it to occupy a smaller area, than say 720 x 480 for an NTSC DV Menu, I would go to Photoshop, Set my Background Color to black, do New Image, and choose the NTSC 720 x 480 (Standard, or Widescreen, as required) w/ Guides. Then I would Open my desired Image, drag it to that New Image, and Scale with with Free Transforming (Ctrl+T), to fill the area that I want, Flatten and Save_As PSD. That would be the Image that I would use for the Menu Set.
Now, if you wish to see some of the original Background, around your smaller Image, there are two methods to accomplish that. As the structure of PrE's Menu Sets are Layered PSD's, and that structure is very strict, I am not sure if there would be issues with either of these ways.
Do the same, as above, but choose Transparent for the Background. Then Save_As PSD, to use the Transparency in the PrE Menu Editor. If that does not work, move to #2.
Do the same, as above, choosing Transparency for the Background. Open one of the PrE Menu Set Menu PSD's, and drag its Background to your New Image. Drag your Image over that, and Scale, as required. Save_As PSD, and drag that to the Menu Set in the Menu Editor.
To work with Menu Sets, that do not allow one to add a Background Image, one could Open the MM (Main Menu), and the SS (Scene Select) PSD's in PS. Then, one would basically do the drag operation from above, to add their Image over the Background. I would then Save_As PSD, without Flattenng (very Important), and increment the first part of the name in some way. Do not alter the last part of the Menu Set's MM, or SS file names (very important). Create a New Folder in the DVD Menu Library sub-folder hierarchy, and name it something like "My Menus." Before you close out PS, Flatten each the MM and the SS, go to Image>Image Size, choose 160 x 128, and create PNG's the same Image Size of the other PNG's in the Menu Sets' folders. Note the required file naming convention for those PNG's also. Increment the beginning of the file name, to match what you did above. Place those PNG's (they are the "thumbnails" in the Menu Set Viewer) in that New Folder, that you created. When you start PrE, and go to Create Menus, your New Folder should show in the drop-down, where you placed it.
Note: NEVER Save_As the exact same name, as your DVD Template Menu Sets' name, or you will overwrite those Menu Sets. The only way to get them back is to reinstall the Functional Content material.
If you get lost, do not hesitate to look at the naming conventions in PrE, as a guide. Same thing for the Layer Set order. The structure is VERY important. Though I do this a lot, I still need to use one of the Library Menu Sets, as a reference guide. There is little latitude in the file naming, and almost none in the Layer Set order. It's the same for the folder/sub-folder structure.

PS - The same instructions should work fine in PSElements, but as I do not know, or have, that program, I cannot be 100% certain. With the above operations, one should not run up against one limitation of PSE - its inability to create Layer Sets (the Buttons). However, PSE can edit Layer Sets - just not create them.
