I need a help if you can really transfer an itunes music library to another PC that has itunes also?

Probably the most straightforward way to get iTunes onto your new computer is to network it with the old one and copy your iTunes folder across. This works fine if you have been using iTunes to completely manage your music and all your songs are in iTunes Music not in different folders. You can also use this method with an external hard drive, you drag the folder from the old computer to the external drive and then from the drive to the new computer. If the songs in your library are not all in the iTunes Music folder you can consolidate them. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. This has to be the exact same place, on a PC this is \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will be the same as on the original one Songs, Playlists, Play Counts, Ratings etc. When I moved iTunes a while ago for my daughter I was also using the same version of iTunes, not sure how important that is but it's probably worth keeping them the same.

My Photoshop CS 5 has some strange actions when I copy a portion of a photo using the clone stamp to transfer to another part of the image. It carries the entire layer (not just the stamps selection) across the screen and I cannot place it where I need to. It appears as if I selected the entire layer on purpose (which I did not)
The below items appeared when I opened Photoshop CS 5:
“Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled G & U enhancements. Check the video card malfunctions website for latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the performance panel of preferences.”
(I believe this started after the automatically updated Windows was applied. It was coincident with the before mentioned problem . . . but I don’t really know if it had anything to do with it. )

For the Clone Stamp problem, check the Clone Source panel and Clipped is probably unchecked.
If so, check Clipped and see if that makes a difference.

Which version of windows are you using?
What is the make and model of your graphics card?
Do you know which update windows installed?

Right-click on one of the other section headers. In the context menu that appears, make sure there is a checkmark in File Handling.

HT4527 did library transfer from old to new computer but some files can't be located

I did a itunes library transfer from my old computer to my new computer. However when I select to play some of the songs from my new computer I get a message saying the file can't be located. This does not haqppen on the old computer. Any suggestions that might fix this problem.
Both computers have Windows OS's and I have the newest versions of I Tunes.

I cannot find the .muse file, I have a lot of muse files but I cannot retrieve any information as they wont open in vista. when i search muse on mu comp I cannot find .muse files.
When I right click the icon I can send files to a memory stick, about ten file folders from assets to welcome, plus muse application 382kb and muse on air 6152 kb it is a ten page site with lots of images.
Once I get to my windows 7 pc I copy from the memory stick and paste the files into the muse file on my c drive
It looks like it is starting to open but stops, not recorded on tack manager as running bug muse logo freezes on screen.

Your iTunes library isn't deleted when you uninstall it, so uninstall iTunes without worrying about this

Transfering clips from one 'project library' project to another

When I copy and paste clips from one 'project library' project to another 'project library' project it somehow brings along all the deleted material that was taken out of the finished product. Can't even figure out how this is happening... I'm trying to make different versions of a music video with most of the same clips and transitions. (imovie '09)

Thank you soooooo much! I don't know if this is possible, but I wanted to add beat markers to the music first before I added the clips from the other project. When I duplicate the project,it also brought along the music. I know you have to add beat markers to the music before you add clips. So is there anyway to lay the music down first then add the duplicated project (minus it's original music).

Music Library Transfer

I have a new PC laptop, assuming the iPod 60GB library would sync itself onto the new laptop when I connected it, instead I found it reporting, the iPod/music library belonged to another computer (my old PC laptop) and that I could overwrite the contents 700+ tracks with the 90+ I had copied onto/downloaded from iTunes (on the new laptop). Not too happy at this point, I checked some sppt articles tried the yam application but that isnt compatible with latest version of iTunes 7.1. Surely if the tracks are on the iPod it should just populate the almost empty iTunes library on the new laptop with its contents?
Can anyone help?

Attempt transfer to another subscriber takes 20 seconds

In UNITY , a subscriber is set up that when a caller presses zero, caller input is set to “Attempt Transfer” to another subscriber. The called subscriber is forwarded to VM and the subscriber to which the call is being transferred is also forwarded to voice mail. It takes 20 seconds before the caller gets a message from the “transferred to” subscriber. Most callers won’t wait that long. Do I have something mis-configured? Any way, to reduce the time that a caller is waiting?   I have other subscribers set to "attempt transfer to operator" and had both phones call forwarded to VM and it only took 5 seconds.

Which did you change last night, the VM Pilot # or VM Port 1?
It still sounds wonky to me, although I hate to doubt TAC as they've always been very helpful to me. What happens if the
phones in question aren't on Forward to VM but just using FNA or FB to VM? Are we sure they are not on Forward to each other?

Ipod touch library transfer?

I have a ipod touch. About a month ago my old computer crashed. That was the computer that my I-Tunes with my I-Pod Library was stored. I now have an I-Pad. What will happen when I plug my I-Pod touch into my new I-Pad with the same I-Tunes account? Will the library transfer or will I have to rebuild. Do I have any way of backing up my I-Tunes library from I-Pad?

Welcome to the discussions,
you need to connect to a computer to sync your device. If you have to sync to a new iTunes library, your device will be erased during the first sync. But you can perform a manual backup to transfer your data and copy your bought apps and media by selecting File->transfer purchases in iTunes.
Disable autosync before you connect in iTunes/Settings/Devices.

To back up manually, make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.

ITunes user library transfer from one account to another on the SAME comptr

Initial information: I have my computer, internet is with SBC Yahoo DSL. It has five sub accounts on it; mine, my wife's and my three children. Each has their own subaccount to make life easy.
I bought my wife an ipod in the August and through ignorance set up the itune to run on my subaccount. So when she wanted to buy a song, she had to go to my subaccount, log on, buy the song, plug in and download to the ipod. No problem.
I then bought my daughter an ipod for her birthday in September. Not knowing any better, she plugged into my subaccount and got all of her mother's stuff. Not a big problem in that they like the same stuff.
December my son gets an ipod. I learned my lesson and set up an itunes account on his subaccount. He therefore buys songs, that go to his ipod only. He wanted some songs from mom's, so I couldn't figure how to get them over. So I read the instructions on this web page. I burned the disk with the 22 songs that he wanted, but when burning the discs, no info (song title, artist, album) came with it, so I manually added the song titles and artists names. He was satisfied.
Now mom and sister want their songs put onto their subaccounts so that they won't have to share, or better, won't have to down load what each other has. I tried burning more discs, but when I got to disc #11, I realized that once again, there are no names or titles, etc to the songs on the burnt discs.
QUESTION: (finally) Is there a way to transfer the songs from dad's itunes, to other subaccounts on the SAME computer. This way not needing to burn lots of CD's without the information that they want.
Final piece of info, in case you don't know how SBC/Yahoo DSL is set up. I have the different subaccount on the computer, but to get from one to another, you need to either log off, or so simply "switch users." For this reason, such functions like "select all" then "copy" then "paste" I don't think can be done. Please make your answers very simple as I am not that computer literate.

I'll try and keep this simple. It gets a bit confusing.
Ok, in the account which you want to transfer songs from, make a playlist of all the songs you wish transferred. After you do so, open the playlist, then go to "File > Export Song List". Put the file in a place that you'll remember. Then, go to the account you want the songs to go to, then go to "File > Import", and find the file you created from the other account and open it. That should import those songs into that iTunes library.

Hard Drive Full Need To Transfer Media Library / iTunes to another Drive

Hi Ive read most of the post on here that I can find about installing or moving library to another drive. I Copied my entire contents of my Itunes folder to another drive and renamed my old folder. when i uploaded a track from a CD it was copied to the original destination and the new drive that i copied my files to. As i have limited space how can i correct this.

How to transfer iTunes library & folder to another Hard Drive

My iTunes library and all data (music, video, apps, podcasts) are stored on an external 250 GB hard disk that is now getting almost full.
I wish to transfer everything on a 500 GB external HD and be able to launch my library from this new HD without losing anything or getting all my files with the dreaded "!".
Can someone advise me where to look for instructions on how to proceed?

If your library files are on the current external drive, with the media folder inside the main library folder, then simply copy this folder to the new drive and use the hold option/shift when starting iTunes method to open the library in its new location.
If your media folder is on the external but the library files are on the internal drive then start by copying the contents of your iTunes folder, *iTunes Library, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel, Album Artwork* folder etc. to the parent folder of the media folder on the external. (You can leave the .xml file behind, it will have a slightly different name in the new location and will be recreated automatically.) Use the option-launch-iTunes method above to open the library on the external drive. Make sure it all works properly then close it and proceed as outlined in the first paragraph.
iTunes uses the folder name for the folder holding the *iTunes Library* file as the window title, so you may get odd results if your library files are now in the root of the drive. As long as the media folder is stored as a sub- folder of the library folder you can move everything to a new folder or path and use the option-launch-iTunes method. E.g. if your media was at *\iTunes Media* then move the libray files to the root folder \ - open, test and close iTunes - create a folder called iTunes - move the libray files, Album Artwork and iTunes Media folder into the new iTunes folder then open the library in the new location.

How Do I transfer my itunes library music onto another PC?

I got my ipod video (30 GB) a few months ago, and I have always transferred my music to the ipod from the same computer. However, now I'm using a new computer, and when I install itunes on it (with the provided CD), and open the program, the library is blank. My ipod music doesn't show up in it, which means I cannot put new songs on the ipod.
Can anyone offer some suggestions?
