  • LibreOffice 4 crashes at startup

    I upgraded a few days ago all my packages with pacman -Syu. I upgraded for the first time to LibreOffice 4. Ever since, when I run it it crashes giving me this message:
    terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
    I read some similar topics here that helped other people with the same problem, but none has worked for me. I deleted:
    ~/.config/.libreoffice
    ~/.config/libreoffice (I think this existed as well)
    I uninstalled the only one extension that I had installed from AUR, then I rebooted, but STILL the same problem. Can anyone help me? LibreOffice is a major program for my job. Thanks...

    Today this happened to me, too. I'm running Arch x86_64.
    Here's the output of libreoffice --backtrace:
    warning: Currently logging to gdbtrace.log. Turn the logging off and on to make the new setting effective.
    warning: no loadable sections found in added symbol-file system-supplied DSO at 0x7ffff7ffa000
    warning: Could not load shared library symbols for linux-vdso.so.1.
    Do you need "set solib-search-path" or "set sysroot"?

  • Libreoffice Calc crashes when click on "Format cells" - "Numbers"

    As the title says, Calc crashes every time when I do right click -> "Format cells" -> "Numbers" for any files (including newly created ones). This is still the case even after I deleted the whole .openoffice.org folder.
    I have tried to reinstall all the packages, but the problem continues.
    Do others have the same problem, and is there a solution?

    The latest libreoffice in extra, on gnome.
    I have been trying to find a solution in the forum of openoffice.org. It turns out that this is a longtime issue which have appeared on different versions. Some people solved it by blanking the user profile, but this does not work for me.. Anyway, this does not seem to be a problem of Arch packages, though upgrading to the newest version did make it happen by chance..

  • GDM crash when launchin LibreOffice [SOLVED]

    Hi,
    I have a problem whenever I launch any LibreOffice application, it appears that GDM or Xorg crashes. I end up back at the login screen.
    See below for my journal log of around the time of the crash.
    I've tried resetting the libreoffice profile as other forums have suggested. I've also re-installed libreoffice.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Cheers.

    I'm not using GNOME, but it appears to me that one of your GNOME plugins is causing trouble. However, as I don't use GNOME, I cannot quite see which one - it's just what I interpret from this line:

    EDIT
    ugh - too slow
    Hey ayekat, I disabled all the gnome extensions from the gnome tweak tool and it appears it cleaned up them "addon" errors (well they haven't appeared again since replicating the crash). From what I can understand, libreoffice is crashing xserver. I'll try re-installing the graphics driver to see if it helps?

  • Libreoffice crashes on "Save As..."

    Hi all, whenever I try to save a new document in Libreoffice, it crashes when trying to bring up the "save as" box. Saving documents that previously existed (Ex. documents that were created and saved in OpenOffice, then opened with Libreoffice) works just fine. Using "save as" in Openoffice works just fine. Any ideas?

    We had something similar in the past. Look for this in go-openoffice threads. What LibnO version do you use (the one from testing or an AUR version), what desktop+theme do you use and what file dialog do you use?

  • Libreoffice Crashing on Save again

    Several months ago I noticed that there was a bug in which Libreoffice would crash while in the "save as" dialog. I simply waited it out for a while, and then a new version of Libreoffice fixed it. In retrospect, I believe it was the same issue as described here:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1378361
    Just as this fellow mentioned, the package libreoffice-kde4 seems to be what's causing trouble. In that thread, they said the fix would come in Libreoffice 4.2. This makes sense, as for a while, it was better for me.
    Now, I'm running Libreoffice 4.2.3.3, and I'm having the issue again. This is the output if I try to start Libreoffice from the command line:
    Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceAdded(QString)
    Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceRemoved(QString)
    LibreOffice(7972) KSambaSharePrivate::findSmbConf: KSambaShare: Could not find smb.conf!
    QWidget::repaint: Recursive repaint detected
    (Note that the first three occur when I open a save as dialog, and the last entry is when Libreoffice crashes completely.)
    Removing libreoffice-kde4 seems to solve the issue, but I'd rather keep that KDE-dialog box.
    Does anyone have any thoughts, or should I just re-open the bug report?

    I noticed exactly the same issue last year. I also noticed another issue. If you go to Tools >> Customise >> Toolbars and you try and rearrange the buttons by dragging them up or down the list, libreoffice will freeze. Both these issues are only present if libreoffice-kde4 is installed. libreoffice-gnome works just fine.

  • [SOLVED: By Downgrade] LibreOffice Crashing

    Greetings,
    After updating my computer today, LibreOffice has continually crashed.
    * I open the file I am working on a 300+ page file.
    * I start typing
    * CRASH - want to restore?
    * No Profit... me has a sad.
    I have searched the forums and all mighty google for answers. I have deleted ~/.libreoffice, ~/.config/libreoffice. I have removed and reinstalled LibreOffice. But still no profit.
    So, any help on this matter would greatly be appreciated! Thanks, in advance!

    UPDATE:
    I got rid of the gnome_keyring error. Basically, I removed gnome. I then turned off testing repo, synced and upgraded. And for good measure I rebooted.
    However, LibreOffice still crashes. So... now I definetly know it wasn't gnome_keyring causing the issue... but no error is given in konsole to help me solve it.
    I am going to attempt to downgrade LibreOffice now.
    Edit for UPDATE:
    I have downgraded to 3.4.5, which was the only other version in the var cache. So far, I am not having any issues. If it continues throughout the day without a crash, I'll mark this as solved.
    Though, I will do so with a heavy heart. Downgrading doesn't really fix anything after all, and I do miss some of the improvements I had enjoyed of the 3.5 series. I wish I could have found the issue causing the crash, and a fix for it besides downgrading. But alas, I could find nothing. I've tried all sorts of tricks, even downgrading java to see if it was a java issue.
    Hopefully the next release will be better, or others having the same issue will discover the culprit.

  • [Solved] Libreoffice 3.6.1.4 don't start

    Hello,
    please excuse my bad english.
    I have a problem. Since the libreoffice update from 3.5.6 to 3.6.1.4 libreoffice don't start. For a short time i see the splash-screen and that's it. In the terminal, when i type soffice or lowriter or libreoffice --writer i can't see any message. Also i deleted the ~/.config/libreoffice folder. But that doesn't help. These packages are installed: libreoffice-common libreoffice-gnome libreoffice-de libreoffice-writer libreoffice-calc. When i downgrade to 3.5.6 everything is fine.
    I have a laptop with openbox and a desktop-pc with gnome. Same problem on both systems.
    Do you have any tip for me?
    Thanks Michael

    Experiencing the same problem here though I found out that the reason for LibreOffice to crash/segfault is the existence of a aquabase-language-support.ttf file which as far as I remember was perfectly accepted in previous versions.
    Once I remove it from my .fonts folder LibreOffice loads as it should (no deep testing performed though).
    Therefore, in case you are using a .fonts folder on my behalf I would suggest to check out its content (back it up and empty the folder and add the fonts again one by one checking each time if LibreOffice crashes or not until you find which of them may be the reason for the crash).

  • Is anyone else having issues with Lion?

    I have been a loyal apple user for years.  I have recommended apple hardware and software to my students.  I use and develop software on Mac (for OS X and iOS).  Since Lion I have experenced more crashes that all of my previous years using Macs.
    Apple, do you care and what are you doing about it?
    Frustrated!

    I had just bought a new Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard.  Like every other Mac computer I had owned, it worked flawlessly for a couple of months with a very complex workflow.  (I have Xcode, iOS Simulator, Instruments, GIMP, Inscape, LibreOffice, Safari, iTunes open at all times).  For both the various macbooks that I've had with both Leopard and Snow Leopard, I never had a single issue.  No slowness, no wake problems, nothing ever crashed, and certainly no kernel panics.
    Then, I got Lion.  Constant Kernel Panics, Finder crashing ALL THE TIME forcing a reboot.  I had NEVER rebooted a Mac machine because of a problem before.  iPhoto just plain broken, LibreOffice constantly crashing and hanging, Xcode crashing, Instruments totally broken. TextEdit totally Broken, Wake from sleep never reattaching to Wireless,  Time Capsule backups screwing up, on and on and on.  I actually stopped using my macbook for a week until 10.7.1 for fear of damaging the system.
    10.7.1 fixed 80% of this.  Now, the macbook is usable and somewhat stable, but there are all kinds of things that are just wonky.  Safari won't let me close tabs sometimes, TextEdit is totally broken for me (can't look at plaintext documents, saves everything as .txt).  Right now, I'd equate my Mac with a pretty good Windows system.  This means that it's the worst Mac experience I've ever had.
    Granted, this is an upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion, but I would say that I have a very stripped down system.  I don't have a lot of extra stuff installed aside from the things I outlined above.  Before Lion, I had a flawless experience with Mac devices and operating systems.  Lion (including 10.7.1) is the worst Mac experience I've ever had.  Hopefully, 10.7.2 will fix some things.

  • Since upgrading to Mountain Lion LibreOffice keeps asking for Java and crashing.

    Java is needed only for Base which I don't use, so I disable Java in LibreOffice preferences, but it keeps asking if I want to enable it. In addition the preferences aren't  being remembered so sometimes LibreOffice crashes when I start to do anything and it has to recover documents. Its all a big nuisance. I have NeoOffice which seems OK, but I'd like to have the option of LibreOffice which I have used for some time. Any thoughts?

    Did you install the last Java update 006 _37?

  • Libreoffice crash on save

    This is the package that generate the crash when I save a file:
    extra/libreoffice-kde4 4.1.4-3 (libreoffice) [installato]
    Once uninstalled the problem doesn't exist anymore.
    Only the save menu isn't a kde integrated menu.

  • Gnome crashes when using libreoffice

    Hello.
    I'm using libreoffice and gnome.
    When I open libreoffice gnome/the whole x server crashes. This happens quite random. Sometimes I'm able to open a file and edit it. Sometimes I can't even open libreoffice...
    Could this be an error with the graphics driver (xf86-video-ati)?
    I've got an almost identical system on a PC with Intel graphics. No Problems there.
    Does anybody have an idea?

    Okay. Update:
