Licence for the studo 10 on OpenSolaris

I'm confused about the licensing on the sun studio 10 free download.
Is it possible to use this for commersial sparc (non open solaris) development using the SUNPRO55 compiler that we have bought and licenced.
I know I can make it pick up the different compiler/dbx with an env variable but I don't know if it is legally sound.

The Entitlement portion of the Sun Studio 10 license
agreement states
Permitted Use: Provided that You are a participant of the OpenSolaris community, You may use the software for Research and Instructional, Individual, and Commercial Use to design, develop, test, or otherwise engineer software.
So, by participating in the OpenSolaris community, you
can download the Sun Studio 10 software and use if for both
OpenSolaris and Solaris development.

Sun Studio 10 includes all the compilers, tools, and a complete
IDE for development, so I'm not sure what you mean by the
portion of your question that refers to the SUNPRO55 compiler.

Wanting to purchase lightroom photoshop deal but will be getting a new Laptop in a few months time how does it affect the licence for the pc its installed on? and do I need to have 2 licences to use on 2 computers?

It's not silly , but I'm assuming you're referring to a cloud offer. If so, if you'd looked in the terms of use, you'd have seen that you can install your software on two separate computers as long as it's only used by one person, and activated with the same Adobe ID. So you can put it on your present computer, and then install a copy on the new one when you get it.

How to find licence for Hyperion Software

Hi,
I want "Essbase Application Manager" for one of my team member but somehow our desktop support team is not able to find this software in their catalog . I think name of the software may be changed.
I have same software on my desktop but it is inside "Hyperion Solutions" SOftware . Does anyone have any idea on my situatuin.

What version of Essbase are you running? I think Application Manager was decommissioned in Version 6 (although it might have been Version 7). It was replaced by Essbase Administration Services(EAS). Application Manager does not need a license as it is just an administrative tool for Essbase. For the license number again it depends on the version. Later version do not have a license number, earlier versions do. In some cases you can get it from App Manager by getting server properties and it will show you. In other versions, you would start Essbase in foreground and it will show you the license as it starts. Essbase 7.16, System 9.3.1 and Version 11 do not have licenses that you have to enter.

Is there a workaround for the thumbnail regeneration issue in CS5?

A friend uses my old version of CS5 and she is stuck with ACR 6.7, because this is the last version available in CS5.
She seems to have huge problems in Bridge with the thumbnail regeneration bug described here, for instance: Cropping to an edge confuses Adobe Bridge?
Concretely, although she has a relatively powerful machine, she is unable to work because there are always tens and tens of thumbnails being generated and her eight virtual cores completely fill the disk bandwidth, making Bridge impossible to use. I am not 100% sure that it is exactly this bug, but everything seems to correspond perfectly well: hundreds of DNG files with lens correction activated and very many cropped manually.
Now, this is a confirmed bug of ACR 6.7 until ACR 8.2. She cannot switch to the latter without purchasing a newer version of Photoshop/Bridge.
Does Adobe provide any fix for this bug in CS5? Could someone kindly point me to it? Her version of Bridge is simply unusable as is....
If the answer above is no, I would be interested to know if this seems legal (not to say ethical...) to anybody: she is (otherwise) pretty happy with CS5 and she would need to buy a new licence for the sole and exclusive reason that the product Adobe sold me has a known and proven bug which makes it virtually useless in her setting.

There are two similar bugs:
The LPC+crop bug started with ACR 6.1 and was fixed in 8.2.
The LPC mystery bug started with ACR 7.3 and was fixed in 8.6.
Both bugs cause repeated thumbnail extractions in Bridge on some images with Lens Profile Corrections enabled.
As you are on ACR 6.7 it can only be the first bug. The only workaround I know is to ensure that the crop does not touch the edge of the corrected image. A few pixels gap will do it. Also, it helps to keep less images in a folder--but this can't be avoided when using Collections or Finds.
I'd imagine that Adobe won't fix CS5 just for this. Presumably there's something in the smallprint which admonishes them from responsibility after the shelf life of the product ends. To be fair, it's not like they fixed it straight away in CS6, unlike the Bridge CS5 database bug (thanks, Adobe). They were only able to reproduce the fault in summer 2013.

If you have a large number of users (say > 50) it may be cheaper to purchase a processor license for the server. You will need to check this with your local Oracle sales representative as processor licensing has its own licensing metrics e.g. O/S platform and CPU.
Note that what my sales rep says is ok may not be what your sales rep says is ok, so get confirmation in writing for reference.

Need licence for plugins ?

There are several plugins for Oracle Grid Control, for instance: Microsoft SQL Server Plug-in.
Are these plugins free of licence ? Cant find clear information about the licence for the plugins.

Data Guard, except Active Data Guard, is included at not additional cost with Enterprise Edition.
Indeed Dataguard is included in the enterprise edition licence but you must licence both the primary and standby database(s) using the same licencing metric, this includes peopple who configure poor mans dataguard with standard edition and manual log shipping scripts, failover clustering (VCS, Oracle Failsafe etc) can be used without paying additional licence fees provided the database is not run on the failover node form more than 10 days per year.

Hi All
We are working on ECC 6.0.
While doing J1IH ( Additional Excise) with Subtransaction Type 01, we are getting a warning message as -
Licence is not included for the material
Message no. 8I993
However if we process without any Subtransaction Type, no warning is flashed.
Please let me know the reason for the same and what could be done so that system doesnt prompt it?

When I am doing Additional Excise in J1IH system is giving the warning message as "Licence is not included for the material" and it is not picking any G/L accounts. Where as without subtransaction , it is picking concerned G/L accounts. Please suggest, what I have to do?

Norton antivirus says my licence have expired when switch my computer on for the first time.

I just bought new touchsmart 520-1002 ru (LN649EA). It had norton antivirus preinstalled when i started it for the first time. After few hours of working antivirus informed me that the licence have expired. But before it was like 60 days. What to do? I'm affraid of sirfing the web without antivirus protection. I think you miss read it It flashes a reminder all the time. You can still use your computer. Until you purchase or install an anti virus software. The only thing Norton will not do is up date it's self but it will still scan your computer when you open it up and click scan. Try to get anti virus software. Titanium Maximum 2012, McAfee, and Norton are the top choices to choose from. Try to stay a way from the real cheep ones like Kerpsky that will not protect your computer. My freind installed Kerpsky asked to fix his lap top. Well I did fix it first thing I did was get it on line and run Trend House Call it found over 250 different virus. Some of the worst ones I had to manually removed. Trend House call is a free scan. Trend.com are the one who make Titanium Maximum Security 2012.
You just bought this computer Mac's are great computers but you are very limited to what you can do on them. This one will last you for a very long time ounce we get the bugs out it. My Touchsmart 600-1050 is going strong going into it's third year now. Just had it's frist full recovery done now my computer runs faster and much better then when I first bought it. Yes I had some minor issues fixed on it at first like anything you buy today is not perfect HP covored it all during the one year warranty. My recovery was performed because I picked up a new virus that no anti virus on the market could delete it had to be manually delete it but to much damaged was caused in the operating control software. Why do you need InDesign CS (that is version 3) or InDesign CS3 (that is Version 5) to install InDesign CS5.5 (it is version 7.5)?
If it is an upgrade and asks you to input your serial of an older version, you have to get an find it. No one will help you here. If you can't find it and if you have not registered it, you are out of luck. You will have to spend money for a new version.
