Licence Key error re-installing Crystal Reports Xi

CR Xi was installed and working on an employeeu2019s laptop. This laptop crashed an I am now installing Crystal Reports on another employees laptop.
However, the licence key wonu2019t register for him and he has to input it everytime he opens Crystal reports.
Is there anyway to free-up the licence so the new employee can register it?
Or alternatively have a new licence key issued?

Below number, for worldwide Global Support Customer Interaction. Note the phone numbers marked in the note that are available worldwide (24 hours 7 days a week).
Use your Customer Interaction Center to submit support requests and service requests for problem messages and remote service postings.
Use the Customer Message Wizard to enter problem messages on SAP Service Marketplace. If you do not have online access, the relevant Support Center can create a message on your behalf, ask then to create a new incident for license issue.
A service message is create using the same process that is used for creating regular technical support messages with the only difference being in the component that is selected. These components begin with XX- (e.g. XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ) instead of BOJ-.

You need create a customer message [https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message] using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ.

Moreover, there are two ways for Crystal Report customer to get support.
One is customer with bundled product such like BOE and under maintenance. These customers will have an S-user ID and password to log a case in service market place via http://service.sap.com/message

The other is customer with only Crystal report product, the support is via SDN.

We have bought licensed Crystal Reports Server 11 near by 2006.We are trying to install the crystal server but while installing ,we have encountered with an error message that:-

By design, the product is not able to be installed under the superuser account.
1. Create a new user and specify a home directory for the user without a quota set.
2. Copy or move the installation files to a directory that the new user can read. I suggest you move the installation files directly into the new user's home directory.
3. Logon as the new user (or su - newuser)
4. run the installation shell script using that new user's account.
NOTE: Ensure the system meets the requirements from the supported platforms documents.

When i was installing CR 2008 on windows 2008, system shows following errrors during the installation:
error 1904 module c://.../reportSourceBridge.dll failed to register
error 1904 module c://.../reportPromoptEMF.dll failed to register
and i tried to registrate manually buy using cmd:

system display this error:

Invalid Key Code when trying to install Crystal Reports XI

Hi, I was referred to your web site by SAP phone support.
I am trying to install Crystal Reports Developer XI on a Windows Server 2003 machine, and the key code I retrieved from the service.sap.com site is not being accepted by the installation program. It gives me an error message saying that the key code is invalid or expired.
What can I do? I tried posting a message to XX-SER-LIKEY-BOF as instructed on service.sap.com but they only answered by giving me the same non-working key code again.
I tried calling the phone support site, and they instructed me to go to sdn.sap.com. I guess this forum is what they meant.

Error 1305 while installing Crystal Reports 2008, JavaSDK

While installing Crystal Reports from the original media on a new Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro SP3 I get the following error while installing:
Error 1305: Error reading from File: c:\program files\Business Objects\javasdk\jre\audio\soundbank.gm. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I have the option to retry or cancel, obviously cancel exits the installer. Retry just fails again. I have tried to access the file (which does exist) and I cannot because it is in use. I used Sysinternals process explorer to find out what has the file in use and it is msiexec.exe which is the Microsoft Installer service which is running in order to install CR2008.
I have tried restarting, setting permissions on the file and folder, uninstalling and reinstalling Java VM from Sun. I even tried killing msiexec (which killed the install). I even tried taking out all reference to java in a custom install.
I am at a loss on what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Getting an error trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a 64 bit Windows

reformatted my computer and now I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on 64 bit windows 7 box. When the "Registering modules" portion of the install comes up, I get a message that a dll has failed to register. I saw something about not having the Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable pack (x86) installed but that was not it either.
The cd label say Crystal Reports to Crystal Reports 2008 Upgrade, but it does not seem like I have to have the older version of Crystal insatlled.
Any ideas how to fix this ?

i've had the same problem. Tried to install CR SP 2 "cr2008win_sp2.exe" onto an existing CR 2008 SP1 installation, and got the above error. After extracting the cr2008win_sp2.exe to an folder using Winzip (or just start Installation, the source would be extracted to "c:\temp" ), navigate to the subfolder "\package" and execute the CrystalReports.msp (in my case: c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp). This start's the Installation of SP 2. If you get an version mismatch, use parameter SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1 by typing command in an dos prompt "c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1" but remember, you need to have an SP1 installed (somebody said, SP's are incremental).
Reboot and apply then the CR 2008 SP2 FixPack 7 "cr2008fp27.exe". Use this Link to Download CR and Xcelsius Stuff:

I would suggest you not to use IE for downloading, use an alternative browser. I got only bad downloads (IE8 on Win7).

Error installing crystal reports 2011

I am trying to install crystal reports 2011 and I keep getting an error that I need administrative priviliges to continue. I am the administrator and i have tried running as administrator. Why does this keep giving me this error. I am running the 32 bit version of windows 7. I have .net 4 installed.

Ah, worth a try.... Likely your IT guys burn images all from the same master or using the same CD's DVD's to install from. I have installed it on various OS, XP, Windows 7, Vista, 2008 32 and 64 bits and no problems. But they are clean also, no third party app's pre-installed other than Visual Studio 2010. And My PC at home has just about everything on it an no issues with it either...
I can't say why then. I suggest you purchase a [support case|http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjamer/DisplayProductByTypePage&parentCategoryID=&categoryID=38156200] and get into the Report Design queue and get them to get more info from you. Logs and other files cannot be attached to Forums.
It appears to be known issues and they are working on getting it resolved. It likely is a missing dependency or some version specific dependency we and you may have a newer version. In either case you can get a refund.
Or wait until SP 2 comes out and hope your specific issue is fixed.

After installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 server with one error... REGSVR sapldap.dll error. I had to regsvr it manually. Crystal still didn't run. Found out that Crystal Reports XI will not run until you change DEP to protect only windows program and services. Thanks.

Crystal Reports XI was not compiled with the nx flag as it released before Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003 Service Pack 1.
As for the sapldap.dll. I'm not sure where this is coming from. I do not see this dll on my install, however it does come with the SAP portal integration kit. So I'm not sure if that is flying around somewhere on that server(?)

Error when opening Crystal Report in VS 2010 IDE

I recently began receiving the following error when I attempt to open a form containing the crystal reports viewer.
An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redestributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required. I am able to run the reports from within the development environment but cannot open them in the forms editor. I have installed Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 hoping that would solve the problem but to no avail. I have tried to reinstall multiple times and continue to receive the error.
I am running on Vista (32 bit). The project target framework is ".NET Framework 4, The platform target is set to x86.
I also now receive errors when I try to run reports after deploying to client PCs but I don't know if that is related or not.

Uninstall CRVS2010 that you currently have installed.
To remove the assemblies from the GAC use gacutil. Google will get you a number of links on how to. Can not install Crystal Reports 8.5

We have some reports developed on Crystal Reports 8.5. I needed to modify one of them. I have Crystal Reports XI is installed on my PC. I tried to install Crystal Reports 8.5, when I enter the Key from the CD case it did like the key. The error is u201Cthe product key is not validu201D . Where would I find a valid key for version 8.5? Or how can I install it. Appreciate your help.

From where are you trying to install the CR 8.5, from zip file or through CD?
You can't install 2 versions of Crystal Reports on one machine.If you want to install other version, install it on another drive apart from the drive in which you have already installed the Crystal Reports.

CR 8.5 does support side by side installs. Also if you save an 8.5 report in CR 9 or above it no longer becomes usable in CR 8.5 due to changes in the files format.

I got this error message -2147206460 Crystal Reports Activex Designer invalid directory. any idea guys how can i fix this. I tried using Crystal Report viewer in the server and its working perfectly.

is your report working on SAP from server machine or it only works on Crystal Report on server machine
IF your report is working on SAP server then, the problem is on sharing the .rpt file with client
Place the .rpt file in shared folder whichi is accessable from all the clients then use that .rpt file in SAP CR addon and update it
updating the path from each client system SAP towards shared .rpt file
do you have any firewall installed, try disabling within your network and check
This should Fix your problem
make sure the printer is shared and correct printer is set as default printer
if possible give a test print page from client to make sure the printer is online

Getting error while running crystal reports on SAP BW Query

I have installed Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 and then SAP Integration Kit. I'm able to connect to SAP BW but after adding the query to crystal and while refreshing the report i'm getting an error
Database Connection Error: 'BAPI Error #:0' Error occured when starting the parser: timeout during allocate/CPIC-CALL:'ThSAPCMRCV'.
Please help how to overcome this error.

This error occurred on server side and I changed the report directory to network directory. But still got error. Please advice. Thanks.

Hi Simon.......
Try this........
1. Uninstall the Crystal Report Version from Control Panel
2. Delete all the Temp Files
3. Go to Program Files--> Business Object Folder and delete this folder so that all the corrupted DLL files will get deleted.
4. Restart Machine Once again
5. Then Install Crystal Report freshly........
This may solve your problem........

Error al ejecutar Crystal Report

Hola a todos!!
Estoy haciendo un reporte en Crystal para una BD que cuenta con Factura Electrónica con un addon (En una máquina que no tiene el addon instalado, la idea es sustituir la FE del addon, por el de SAP)
Sin embargo al momento de querer abrirlo en SAP me aparece el siguiente error: "Error al ejecutar Crystal Report" (Así, tal cual; según yo Crystal es Crystal ReportS...).
Si yo monto este reporte en una BD que no tiene el addon, el reporte sí se abre, normal.
Alguien sabe qué me puede estar deteniendo el abrirlo en SAP?

Supongo que para la fecha en que publicaste esto ya encontraste la solución jeje. Pero igual para los que entren a este post, hace poco hice el UpGrade a la version de SBO 9 este ya con la version de crystal report 14.0 o la 2011, y pues me dio el mismo error.
La solución: Instala el cliente SAP y el DI API de 32 bits, lo que sucede es que Crystal Report 2011 no corre con el cliente SAP ni DI API de 64 bits.
