Licence required for Business Package download ?

Hi,
I like to download the "Business Package for Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004)" for the integration to the SAP Enterprise Portal.
I found it here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio
But instead of a download link I can only see that a licence is required for the download.
I think that my company already has (or will buy) the licence.
But what steps are now needed to activate the licence for my SDN account?
Or whatelse must be done by my company to download the business package?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
in case you are sure that you hold the required license, please check the following:
- you need to be signed with your S-User ID (the ID to Service Marketplace) at SDN
- additionally, you need to maintain User Mapping for this ID for the data source 'Service Marketplace' in 'My Profile'
If you still do not see a download icon, please check with your SAP account manager if you hold the required license.
If there are other technical problems, you may also contact [email protected]
Kind Regards, Anke

  • Is a separate licence required for clustering?

    Hi.
Is a clustering licence required for Weblogic 6.1? Using the downloaded
bits, can we not setup even a simple cluster? In short, what are the
              limitations of the download bits?
              Thx,
              - deepak

You don't need another "cluster license". The downloaded
              version is clusterable.

  • New portal forum for business packages?

I think it might be useful to have a separate forum under the portals area for business packages. There is often confusion if a question is related to portal content or portal implementation and a separate forum would help this.
    Cheers

    Hi Marilyn and Uri
Potential forum name: Pre-packaged portal business content
Forum description: This forum is for discussing the installation and configuration of business packages mentioned in the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio">Portal Content Portfolio</a>. Topics might include licensing, portal version compatability, and back-end configuration.
Reason for separate forum: A lot of the business packages have a backend component or extra development requirements which goes beyond straight portal details. For example, the XSS (old ESS and MSS) make use of Web Dynpro for Java and some backend ERP or R/3 configuration.
The portal content development forum would still be aimed at those using the PDK and the portal implementation forum would be more about user management and PCD.
    Cheers

Now you may have text files backups of your source code, that have been used previously to create the packages, but the database won't store any info about the file used to do this.

  • Business Package download from SDN

    Hello,
I am trying to download business package from sdn it is giving following error with page cannot be displayed
and displaying my userid and password on the browser.
Can you please suggest me how to proceed further to download BP from SDN
    Regards
    SIVA

You need a SAPNet S-User-Id to download the business packages. If you have an SDN-ID and a SAPService-UserID Like "S000xxxxxxx" (which your SAP-Admin can order for you) you can ask to merge these two IDs and then you are able to download. If you have no connection to a licensed  SAP-System, you cannot download the BPs.

  • CFolders System for Business Package Buyers

I am very new in KM and cFolders area.
Currently we have already installed EP+EPC on Netweaver04s and trying to apply
    business package Buyers.
The installation guide of Business package said that we need to have SM59 RFC
    connection to cFolder system.
Anyway, as I have little knowledge about cFolder system. I don't know how
I can navigate to that and do the initial testing.
    Kindly advise.

    Dear G,
As I see your back-end system has 2 app servers... to cofigure the portal iViews to use both app servers you need to define that in the portal system object that is defined to connect to the backend system... You should look if the system object you use for connecting to srm is of the type: "SAP_R3_LoadBalancing"
    See also: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/1f/bddf3d48b05d5ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
In addition because you are talking about ITS you could configure a WebDispatcher in front of your Backend SRM system...

  • Multiple backend systems for business package ESS/MSS

    Hi,
I would like to know whether there is a smart solution for connecting the business package ESS/MSS with multiple backend systems (up to 10 systems).
I am aware of the possibility using parameter "sap-wd-arfc-useSys", but this implies, that content needs to be duplicated n-times in order to be able to maintain the Jco destination suffix.
Any hint, also for custom built solutions are very welcome!
    Best regards,

  • Disk space required for business content activation

    Hi everyone,
I'm looking for information about how much disk space is required for activation of differents parts of business content (or ultimately, ALL business content in NW04S). I'm also looking for that information on extractors side on R/3.
Reason why i'm asking is that I am convinced that it is better to activate as much Biz Content as possible straight at the beginning of an implementation project even though part of it should not be used in the first place(mostly because if you activate BC later while already in production you have high risks of overwrite or conflicts with existing objects). However I am often opposed the argument that this consumes useless diskspace blah blah blah...
I'd be curious to know the exact diskspace Biz Content actually takes when activated, so any information about it is welcome.
    Thanks!
    Christian

iam also agreeing wih ur opinion it is better to activate as much business content  a implementaio level

HIi Siddharth, thx for confirming, this was my guess.
It also appears that much of the new ECM analytics integrated with BW in EP5 is being moved under the TMS 1.51 (Talent Management Specialist) Application.
If they are moving ECM reports there, I don't understand why you would not just incorporate all the BSP links / folder structures so that  'BP Compensation Specialist 60.2' could be officially retired.
