You can redownload previously purchased apps from the App Store using the same Apple ID on all your authorized Macs for free.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

J2ME KVM from scratch - Licencing issues (offtopic?)

I have some SIMPLE questions about licencing issues.
If I decided to write a new J2ME VM for Pocket PCs, for instance. What should I do regarding licencing?
-Would it be necessary to pay SUN some Java or J2ME licence?
-As everyone knows the J2ME APIs, I could write the J2ME APIs too. Without paying a licence, it's legal?
-If I don't have to pay anyone, where the hell Sun makes its money with Java?
-I've seen systems where people is using Sun KVM for Palm - the one suposed to be "reference implementation" - and distributing the Sun VM without paying royaties, licences, anything. Is this correct?
I couldn't understand the business model yet. Maybe some of you can point out how Java licencing issues work. If possible, keep it simple :-)

IANAL, but I believe you can create a clone of Java (including API's) without paying any fees if the end result is not called Java.

Licence issues

I have photoshop elements 11 and premier elements 11 on a desktop and a laptop, if I uninstall from the laptop can I reinstall on a new laptop without any licence issues?

There is no need to uninstall the program. Simply deactivate from Expert Mode:
Help >> Deactivate
You can deactivate permanently or temporarily which gives you the option to use again in the future.
Then install PSE11 on your new machine.
Basically you can have as many installations as you wish, but only two live activations at any one time.

BT Netprotect PLus - Renew Licence Issue

Quod Core PC with Vista s/p2 64bit
BT BB with option 3
I have enjoyed BT Netprotect Plus for sometime and every now and again I get a stupid licence renew issue occur as do others. Well it has happened again but this time I have been unable to fix it. According to Microsoft's Windows Security Alert I have no McAfee Firewall or Antivirus installed or initiated. I can't even switch over to MS's firewall.
According to the BT BB FAQ's it is just a simple matter of right clicking on the "M" icon and selecting the renew licence. Except in my case the icon disappears after the desk top appears on boot up. The desktop icon fails to work as well and I've run short cut fixes and even selected the program from the list of programs all to no avail as the program fails to boot.
I have even tried to uninstall and reinstall BT Netprotect Plus but every time I do this I lose access to the internet. A yellow triangle appears stating "Local Access" only. To regain internet access again I have to invoke a restore going back 5 days.
When I boot up McAfee Security Plus it appears in red and tells me my PC is at risk and when I run the "fix" button it takes me to their pay and download web site which is rich considering I pay for these services in BB option 3.
I have looked up BT's FAQ page and have seen similar experiences and it is recommended to download McAfee's Virtual Technition which I have done and run a scan. No feedback received that there is a problem or indeed whether it was fixed and there is no change to my PC as I still can't renew the licence. Just to make this a little more annoying and weird I have two other PC's connected to my LAN. A laptop running windows 7 and an ancient beast running XP. Both have access to the internet and and there are no issues with updating BT Netprotect antivirus s/w. I have even used my laptop to invoke licence renewal on that PC thinking that would satisfy McAfee but I still can't fix the problem on my Vista PC. Please help. Incidentally I think it is bad customer service not to warn customer's of a licence renewal. It was bad enough when BT supplied Symantec A/V products. I'm on my Vista PC every day and auto updates for McAfee are set up. Look forward to the answer on this one. Please don't tell me to re-install Netprotect again. Regards Dave

Licence issue in the delivery not in sales order

Dear SD Experts,
I am facing one differnt issue please check this if you have faced any time.
In sales order licence is redtermined perfectly with having any problems for Four line items
In the delivery also created 4 lines but if we check in the license log 2 new line items added and not triggerd ... in this case how we can sort out this issue, please tell me.

Nokia Music Licence issue

rather annoying problem. I downloaded some tracks from the Nokia music store onto my 5800. Each time i did a software update i lost the licences for the tracks. even though i had backed up the phone beforehand. No Problem, i just re downloaded the licence.
It has now got to the stage where i have used up my 3 licences for each track and The music store wants me to pay for the tracks again that are in my music vault. however, it won't let me do that. instead it comes up with an error.
If i search for the tracks manually and try to purchase them, it takes me to my music vault where it comes up with the error again
I can't even find a way to remove the tracks from the vault so i can go back and purchase them again.
is it possible to remove all the tracks i have purchased so i can start over again?

Software licence issues when upgrading to Leopard with a new machine

Hi,
This is a question about my licence for Logic, but also on a broader scale, all my plugins and AU instruments etc. of which I have bought many.
I want to upgrade to Leopard (currently on Tiger 10.4.11), and realise that it's going to be a long and painful process to re-install each program/plugin etc. as I want to start from a clean Leopard install.
I also want to do this on a new MacBook Pro, but am wondering what kind of complications I'm going to run into when doing so. I can't just close one machine down while I transfer across the programs as I need it to work with, so I was going to prepare an external FW (or USB?) hard drive with Leopard, configure it and install all I need, and then clone that to my new MBP once I've got the money together to buy it.
Will this void the licence for Logic (and all my other programs) considering I'll essentially have two different machines with the same software? Is there an easier way to do this (particularly without installing each program again)?

You can run Logic on two different machines; just not at the same time. So there are no logistical (ha ha) problems from that point of view.
As regards the more general issue of copying over data…
There are applications such as Carbon Copy Cloner (shareware) which can make exact copies of your volumes, & there is Migration Assistant (part of OS X) that will allow you to move over the bits you need.
But if you are going for a clean install, you might prefer to do everything the hard way & re-install everything.
Personally, what I usually do is first a clean install, & then use my carefully-prepared back-ups to put everything from their previous locations directly into the corresponding locations in the new system. But this isn't recommended unless you really know what you're doing!
However, it does work perfectly for most things, as long as you take a few precautions & do everything in exactly the right order.
You can search in other Forums for lots of good advice on this type of move-over.

CS6 - Licencing Issue (Error 213:11)

Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice regarding a recent issue I've had with CS6.
I have been creating a package using AAMEE and then deploying it via SCCM. I work in a Further Education environment and we have a site licence.
Previously I have deployed the package successfully to XP machines without a problem. I then successfully created and deployed the package to a couple of WIn7 PCs.
At around this time the licence was due to expire and our admin renewed it - the licence keys appear to be unchanged.
However, since then I am having issues running any newly deployed package. Trying to run any of the CS6 programs results in the following error:
I notice there are a couple of entries on this site for fixing the 213:11 error involving changing Read-Only access to certain folders, but this did not work.
I have tried recreate the package using the Adobe ID of the admin person who renewed the licence, but this does not seem to have made a difference.
Strangely, running each program 'As Administrator' seems to work, however that is not an option as none of my end users will be allowed this option.
Any advice gratefully received.

It seems that either the files you extracted or the package created doesn't have full admin rights, please start from the scratch and re-create the package with Admin access and make sure that the extracted files have admin access to.

Safari Licencing issue

There seems to be a rather large issue with the licence agreement in the safari software.
We were planning to deploy Safari for web application testing and development on our machines, however we were directed to the fact that written clear as day in the EULA, the software can only be installed on ONE APPLE LABELED Computer.
Because we do not have any apple machines in our organization, we have already breached the terms of the EULA. This is because some of our users didn't read the Eula before installing, and therefore have opened ourselves up to potential legal concerns.
This is an issue because our business unit we deals with government and some critical projects that require us to strictly adhere to legal constraints. Including those wihtin software EULAs and other legal binding documents.
What should we do, should we contact Apple's legal dept? or can this simply be ignored?

One thing worries me much.
Let's start with my story ..
I installed Safari 2 days ago and I found it a kick-*** browser - Really great! I was very happy that I had 2 great browsers: Firefox and Safari (I'm a php developer and I enjoy to compare my website's layouts between browsers - to make them look the same). I don't like IE, and Opera doesn't stun me either, so I was really happy to use Safari. And then one thing came to my mind ... "let's check the license ...." and I found this:
Paragraph 2:
"A. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time."
There's no problem for me to install and use one copy of ... but my machine IS NOT Apple-labeled .... so what are my chances?
If I'm right iMacs use Intel Processors nowdays, so it is probably possible to install Windows OS on them AND then install Safari-for-Windows - there won't be any problem. My machine is a DIY set with Vista Home Premium ... and I'd really enjoy using Safari, but I'm not sure about the license ...
My 2nd question is:
let's assume, that I can (license grants me the rights to do so) install Safari on any Windows machine but: may I install it on my home (personal) computer OR/AND the one that I use at my job (that's not personal)??

Final Cut Pro Upgrade Licence Issues

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can advise .
I had an old version of Final Cut Pro and recently bought the upgrade , which I installed successfully.
Then, seeing that I had a whole new box of manuals, in a moment of madness, I threw away the old box . In doing so, I have thrown away my old licence.
So now if I ever need to re-instal Final Cut Pro , or instal it on my laptop (it is only installed on my desktop) , I have no licence key for the original ( which I must instal before the upgrade ) .
Anyone got any ideas how I go about getting a re-issued licence key?

Creative suite 5.5 Trial Licence Issues

Hi,
I have downloaded and installed the trial version of Creative Suite 5.5 but any time I try to run one of the programs a licence agreement window appears. If I click 'Accept' it will dissappear for a few seconds and then reappear.
How do I get past this and actually use the product?

By running with sufficient user privileges and permissions. It simply cannot initialize the licensing service and/or create the key file. Make sure to run with admin priviliges the first time you launch any of the apps.

Licence issues when updating?

I recently installed an update to adobe elements 13, when I restarted to computer I only had the trial version. When i tried to enter the activation code it informs me that I have exceeded to number of licences. how do I get around this and avoid it in future?

You will need to contact Adobe support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations. For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

You are allotted two current activations per single user license - you can deactivate and reactivate as needed, but you have to remember that you only have two to work with.. If you have installed more than twice without deactivating you will get the notice you indicate you saw. To avoid it in the future you need to remember to deactivate before you uninstall/reinstall, if you are able to that is. When a system fails you might not have that opportunity. But if you are knowingly disabling/uninstalling Adobe software then be sure to deactivate it first. To deactivate you normally just have to open a program and choose Help -> Deactivate.
If you did not uninstall/reinstall in this then I cannot explain why you got the message you did.
