Licens chart library VS datavisualization licens library

Hi I am Carlo and this is my first time that write here.
Recently I up grade my application from flex2 to flex3. The passage it was quite simple but I have a problem with the new chart library datavisualization.swc. I have the license of the old library (chart.swc) but this license don't work with the new.
I must buy a new license or I can use  my old license ? if yes, how can i do it? if no, I must buy only datavisualization license or I must buy all flex3 builder license?
thanxs in advantage
Carlo

Your Flex 2 charting license will not work--you must upgrade. Furthermore, Adobe decided to bundle the Flex 3 Data Visualization license with the Flex Builder 3 Pro license. As far as I know, there is no way to purchase these separately--you must buy a Flex Builder 3 Pro license to get charting.

    Anyone know of a good charting library for use in a servlet/jsp environment.

    Use JFreechart combined with cewolf.
    www.object-refinery.com/jfreechart/
    To use charts in a jsp page you can use cewolf ( a taglib) based on jfreechart.
    http://cewolf.sourceforge.net/
    Both are free.

  • Charting library with JRockit

    Using Weblogic Platform 8.1.4.
    When using JRockit JVM with JFreeChart sometimes the JRockit will crash. Apparently this is a bug with JRockit as when we switch to Sun JVM we don't have this problem.
    So since switching to Sun JVM is not an option for us and I don't have resources to try every charting library out there if it works with JRockit, is there any graphing library that BEA recommends using with JRockit.
    Or if anyone knows any workarounds.
    Thanks for help.

  • Where can I download the sap.viz chart library?

    Hi,
    I develop a web software with using sap.ui.communs, sap.ui.table, sap.ui.core and sap.viz chart libraries.
    I found where I can download sap.ui.communs, sap.ui.table, sap.ui.core libraries to perform my software (OpenUI5 - Download)
    But there's no sap.viz chart library... so for the moment I have to use in my page html this javascript code:
    src="https://sapui5.netweaver.ondemand.com/resources/sap-ui-core-nojQuery.js"
    I would like to use a local src and not a online src... so where can I download the sap.viz chart library (without jquery)?

    Hi guys,
    Can any of you recommend a good graphics library (free or cheap) for realtime time-series charting? I need to plot samples on a scrolling line-chart. I've tried JFreeChart but i'm having problems with flickering and distortion in the charts.

    HI,
    I've been testing the chart component library for JSF:
    http://jschart.sourceforge.net
    And it's very powerfull, but I think, is necessary more info about to develop appz with this.
    Anyone knows, a blog or a web that contains any example of the use?
    I've been working for days with the HOW TO in this web but it's very simply.
    Thx in advance!!!

  • Java 1.6 won't download library jar files

    I am developing 2 applets for use on an embedded web server, similar to what you would see when you connect to the web interface of a network router. I need charting functionality in both applets, so I'm using an open source Java charting library called JFreeChart. I have very limited disk space, so I want to keep the JFreeChart jar seperate from my applet jar, rather than zipping JFreeChart with each applet. So I've placed the files on the ebedded web server like this:
    applet_1.html
    applet_1.jar
    applet_2.html
    applet_2.jar
    lib/JFreeChart.jar
    When I open applet_1.html with Java 1.5_11 installed, the JFreeChart library jar downloads with no issues, but for some reason when I install Java 1.6_1 it just hangs. The java console shows the following:
    network: Cache entry not found [url: http://10.0.1.200/lib/jfreechart-1.0.5.jar, version: null]
    network: Connecting http://10.0.1.200/lib/jfreechart-1.0.5.jar with proxy=DIRECT
    network: Cache entry not found [url: http://10.0.1.200/lib/jfreechart-1.0.5.jar, version: null]
    network: Connecting http://10.0.1.200/jfreechart-1.0.5.jar with proxy=DIRECT
    1.5_11 actually shows the same thing, except the jar downloads just fine.
    In researching this problem I've found that there is apparently an "entirely new downloading engine" in Java 1.6, which is supposed to help with Web Start applications. That leads me to beleive that this is a bug with the new engine.
    Should I submit a bug report? I have a packet sniffer program that I could use to capture the packets between the host PC and the web server, should I try to get this info to help diagnose the problem?

    I am seeing similar entries with another applet.
    I see three attempts on my Windows XP machine with JRE 1.6.0_10-rc2
    one for /lib/QTJava.zip (which isn't there, nor should it need to be)
    one for /lib/plugin.jar
    and one for /lib/lib
    Why on earth the applet or JRE is looking for stuff in those folders in beyond me, but it is adding 4 seconds to the applet load time while it goes off on a shopping spree trying to find things.
    The same applet, when loaded on Windows Vista with JRE 1.6.0_07, the console doesn't show those errors at all.

  • Burrito mobile project charting components

    I have a problem when trying to use the charting components in a Flex Hero mobile project with Flash Builder Burrito.
    The release notes(http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_SDK_Hero) of Flex Hero state that the charting components aren't included in a mobile project by default, but that you can add the swc's manually.
    So I created a new "Flex Mobile Project" in Burrito and added the charting swc's (datavisualization.swc and mx.swc) to the project. But when I try to use the Barchart component or any other chart component I get errors in my Flex application because it cannot resolve the component.
    I have a feeling this problem has something to do with the com.adobe.flexide.project.multiplatform.multiplatformnature used in the .project file in a mobile project, but I'm not 100% sure.
    Anyone else having this problem and is there any way to resolve this problem?

    ok, so here's another problem with charting in a mobile project... if I'm not mistaken there's a problem with the mobile skin.
    Although this renders (if you have the datavisualisation.swc and mx.swc and sparkskins.swc in your libs folder) you will not see any text on the axis or in the tooltips.   Does anybody have an explanation and solution?  I'm not understand how the skinning is put together in spark :

  • Using Flex 3D Charts in Flex Builder 3

    Hi all,
    has anyone successfully used the Flex 3D Charts library in FlexBuilder 3?
    The component is at
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1047 990
    and having trawled back there was some chatter about the library back in 2007, but few people seemed to have got it to work.
    I can draw a blank chart area (ie carefully not adding a data series to the chart) but as soon as a series is added I get an error starting
    Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
        at com.adobe.flex.extras.charts.series::Column3DSeries/describeData()[C:\perforce\depot\flex \components\FlexComponents\com\adobe\flex\extras\charts\series\Column3DSeries.as:870]
    with a whole load of stack trace following on. This happens whether I use MXML or create at runtime in an AS class.
    I notice that the library only claims compatribility with FB 2.0 but had hoped there would be backwards compatibility.
    Thanks,
    Richard

    We have added 3d versions of the charts to our Spark based Flex charting framework : http://blog.flexicious.com/post/Flexicious-30-Release-Flex-Spark-Charts-with-Skinning-Supp ort.aspx

  • A problem with servlet  mapping , using a servlet to produce some chart in

    Hi
    Thank you for reading my post.
    My problem is about using a Chart library which works well in jsf application but it does not works in JSF portlets.
    I think i find the problem but i do not know the solution.
    to use this charting library we should add a servlet to web.xml
    something like :
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Jenia internal servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>org.jenia.faces.util.Servlet</servlet-class>
    <load-on-startup>2</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Jenia internal servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/jenia4faces/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    so , when we try to load a chart , it will make the chart image source
    something like
    http://localhost:28080/Adv/jenia4faces/chart/OAReport.jspBarChart3d_id0.png
    in the above sample , adv is the name of web application which is
    deployed in a servlet container.
    and filter applied to make the chart render-able.
    to use the chart library in jsf portlet , i add the servlet
    description as i did for web application , so i add
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Jenia internal servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>org.jenia.faces.util.Servlet</servlet-class>
    <load-on-startup>2</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Jenia internal servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/jenia4faces/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    to my portlet web.xml file.
    when we have portlet , the url to access that portlet (which indeed is a
    web application) changes
    for example
    url for a sample portlet with same web application name
    will be like
    http:// localhost:28080/pluto/portal/Adv/
    as you can see there are some prefix to web application name in the url
    , but when i use chart component to show
    same chart , it still look for the chart in url like :
    http://localhost:28080/Adv/jenia4faces/chart/OAReport.jspBarChart3d_id0.png
    As you may already sugest , the image will not render because browser is
    looking in wrong place.
    now i
    think if i find some way to map that servlet to correct url
    pattern it will works.
    my question is :
    1-what will be new servlet url pattern ?
    2-is my assumption correct ?
    Thank you very much for reading such a long post

    i wrote an app i.e servlet which would select the data from the database and retrive the data.but i want to send this data to normal java file(which is not a servlet) and i want to display results in the normal java file.
    can any body help this concept........

  • Pdf generated through API's does not display pie chart

    I'm using BIP 10.1.3.4, running on Oracle Linux 5 connecting to a 11g database.
    I developed an RTF using the word template builder and included a pie chart. Previewing from within Word works fine, running the report directly from BIP works fine. I then used the API's to generate the pdf programmatically to have more control.
    I use RTFProcessor to convert my RTF into a XSL, DataProcessor to generate the xml data and FOProcessor to generate the final PDF. This works fine running from local JDeveloper, connecting through to the remote database.
    I've now loaded the java class with the API's into the database, and as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12188/T421739T517850.htm#T520954, loaded up the following jar's
    xdocore.jar - the core BI Publisher library
    aolj.jar - although this is an Oracle E-Business Suite library, it is required for standalone implementations as well
    i18nAPI_v3.jar - the i18n library used for localization functions
    xdoparser.jar - the scalable XML parser and XSLT 2.0 engine
    xmlparserv2-904.jar - the main XML parser/XSLT engine
    bipres.jar - a charting library
    bicmn.jar - a charting library
    jewt4.jar - a charting support library
    share.jar - a charting support library
    collections.jar - you only need this if you are working with the delivery APIs or bursting engine.
    The report works fine, all data tabels are shown but the pie chart is missing. I originally got the jar files from the TemplateBuilder/jlib directory. I also tried using the jar files from the BIP/xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib directory as well. Problem remains - everything works fine except for the lack of the pie chart !
    Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
    Cheers,
    Brent

  • Flex 3.0 Charting

    An issue which I was expecting to be trivial ended up becomin a nightmare:  Using Flex Charting with Flex 3 builder.
    During the release of Flex 2.0, the charting library was released as a sperate licensable component.  As such, a seperate license key was required to enable charting.  WIthout the charting license key, all charts would display a watermark indicating that it is an evaluation version.  Flex 2 builder licensing manager form had a seperate edit box for the charting license.  Once the license was provided, the watermarks would go away.
    Moving on to Flex 3, the seperate chartin license edit box is no longer present.  Running a charting application within the Flex 3 builder produces the evaluation watermark.  After consaiderable search, I stumbled upon http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403860.html, indicating that once the license.properties file is updated, all should work just fine.
    Well ... it did'ntwork for me.
    I attempted the following:
    1. Update the license.properties file as recommended by BK403860;  the watermarks did not go away.
    2. Copy the license file from th Flex 2 Builder section; the watermarks did not go away.
    3. Sam as #2 above, but replacing the flexbuilder license with the Flex 3 license number; the watermarks did not go away.
    4. Uninstall and reinstall Flex 3; the watermarks did not go away.
    Today, at 10am, I called Adobe support.  I was on the phone until 1:50pm, on and off hold, forwarded in circles through a dozen different individuals, and no answer.  No one seem to know who the correct person is.  I called the technical support number, and I was still goingin circles: I was always forwarded to a different department.  In one case I was told Adobe does not support this product anymore.  Can this be?
    HELP!
    Is there anybody who could help getting the Flex Charting component to remove the watermarks with the Flex 3 builder?
    Eddie

    Are you using Flex Builder 3 Professional?  Only the fb3 Pro serial will unlock charting, not Standard.

  • Angular Gauge chart in flex

    I have been using fusion charts in the past. Now I want to add an angular gauge chart like this one in my application:
    http://www.fusioncharts.com/widgets/Gallery/Angular7.html
    I couldn't find any thing similar in flex.
    Does any body know any charting library to get similar charts?
    Thanks

    Can you just take the min and max from the data source feeding your line chart, build a separate line chart with start and end corresponding to those two points and y-value corresponding to your goal, and add a second series to the chart? You may need to build a custom lineSegmentRenderer if you want a dashed line but a thin, low-alpha line may look fine.

  • SAP UI5 charts sap.viz OR sap.makit?

    Hi All,
    Just wanted to know which one is preferable / suggested for implementing charts for mobiles using SAP UI5 ? sap.viz or sap.makit?
    I know that the VIZ charting library (sap.viz) relies on the open source component D3 which in turn relies on the availability of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). As SVG is not supported by IE8 and not fully supported by FF ESR, the VIZ charting library is also not supported on those browsers.
    With this point can we say that it it better to go with sap.makit?
    Please advice.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I'd recommend to use sap.viz if possible. It is the one that has development focus and it now also works on touch devices.
    For IE8 there seem to be compatibility libraries, google for them.
    (e.g. javascript - D3 IE8 Compatibility? - Stack Overflow and Home · mbostock/d3 Wiki · GitHub) https://github.com/shawnbot/aight might be the solution for IE8.

    On the JFreeChart web page you will find links to some of the other free chart libraries also. Evaluate a few, and use whichever works best for you.
