License for iWork: Pages.....

So I bought a new iMac at the same time I bought iWork 09. I understood that they were installing at the store.
Now a month or two later I am trying to print documents and on the third set I get a Pages screen asking me if I want a trial or to register. I can't seem to get past the screen to print. I don't understand because I have printed other documents, may not have used Pages much as I mostly do emails.
I found reference to Apple's new system where one does not need a serial number, nice since I can find none on my iWork 09 DVD box. I am not sure what to do here. The information I found here seemed to suggest deleting iWorks and a bunch of other files reloading iWorks. It seemed to suggest that a serial number would not be required. I checked versions and the version I have is higher than the one on the DVD so I guess I would have to upgrade too. This sounds like about a half days work to get a serial number that should be there.
Is there any solution to this problem that does not involve me wasting half a day?

Apparently that was not the case as the software is not on my wife's 27" iMac purchased at the same time.I think I loaded from the iWorks 09 Box/DVD as I do have an iWorks 09 folder on my hard drive. I did find old versions of iWorks which apparently got moved to my new machine when I used the Migration Assistant.
I can't seem to get past the Pages registration screen to print. I don't understand because I have printed other documents, maybe this set of documents is just going through Pages where the others were PDF's etc?. Apparently my version of Pages is slammed because I tried to create a WP document and it would not let me save it.
I have some documents I need to print ASAP. I plan to go back to the Apple Store and ask why I wandered around the mall all morning waiting for them to load software which apparently did not get loaded. Since I have one on one I think they will have to deal with it but I need copies of the documents sooner than I can set a half day aside to work on finally getting this conversion done. Lesson for me here, do not buy new systems right at Christmas and expect that help will be available.

CON-SU1-AS2A10K9 contract if for ASA+IPS bundle. If AIP-SSM-10 ws purchased as a spare the contract would be CON-SU1-ASIP10K9.
I am not sure whether or not this Cisco Service for IPS contract can be used to cover just the AIP-SSM-10 if it was purchased as part of a Bundle instead of a Spare.
I would recommend that you check with your Cisco reseller or Cisco Sales Representative.

Yes. But you must not keep any copies including any discs. If you purchased the apps from the App Store, then you cannot sell or transfer them to another party at all.

You must buy a new license for iWork '08, there is no upgrade path.

Am I correct in assuming the AppleScript dictionary for iWorks Pages has no hooks for scripting either bookmarks or hyperlinks?

Yes, it looks that way. Similarly, there's no support for page numbers, page count, date/time, placeholder text, address book fields, or comments.

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

You can search Google, eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist to find an old version of iWork for a PPC Mac. Probably needs to be iWork 6 or earlier.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

I purchased the Megapack for iWork & Office two days ago and cannot open Pages or numbers. I've been on to Apple support for 3 days now. They have told me to delete app and re-download it. Having done that, problem persists. I've also been told to contact Nick Maskill, the app developer, but the link they gave me to do this http://keytemplates.miniurl.org comes up blank.
This is driving me nuts........has anyone else had the same problem? Have you been able to contact the app. developer?

I am having the exact same issue as you. I purchased and downloaded SpreadsheetPro and all that shows is a blank black screen. On the advice of ITunes, I deleted and downloaded again. Same issue exists. I have tried to contact Nick Maskill to no avail.
Interestingly it showed up in my Evernote App as a zipfile. Still could not open.
Have you had any resolution at all? I am at a loss and feel ripped off for $30

I am considering doing a reformat and installation of my MacBook Pro. It came with Tiger and I have purchased/installed Leopard(family version) and iWork(family version).
How do I keep the licenses for these products and still keep the used count the same? I don't want to purchase new licenses because I had to rebuild my computer.

There is no "tracking" of installations. With a "Family Pack", you have agreed to install on no more than five computers at any given time. It's up to you to honor the agreement. You can reinstall as many times as you wish or need as long as you limit your installations to five computers within your household at any given time.

No, the iWork apps are only available for the Mac. There are separate versions for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) that are purchased from the iTunes Store. If you have an iCloud.com account there is iWork for iCloud that runs in a web browser, including web browsers on a PC. It is currently in beta & may not be available to all iCloud users yet.

Login to your iDisk on the windows machine and then click on the Home on the left.
Upload whatever documents you want access to on your iPad to your iDisk.
Once you have the desired files on your iDisk you go to the app on your iPad you wish to work with tap the sharing button (little arrow going down into a box) which will give you an "iDisk" option and you'll see the files there.

Using iWork pages for note taking - Outline Mode

I am trying to find a good way to take notes in an organized fashion. The other week a friend of mine was using an outline mode in microsoft office and looked to be a great way to organize his notes. I wanted to do something similair on my mac, and it appears that iWork Pages will support the Harvard outline function which is great, and also it'll sync in the cloud, so if I'm on my ipad, it'll save to the cloud, if I'm on my iMac it'll save to the cloud. I only have one hiccup, when I use my iPad, it doesn't seem to recognize my outline that I'm using in iWork on my iMac. I'll start typing on my iPad and it's like the outline doesn't even exist.
So my question is, is there an outline feature for pages for iOS? I want my notes to be seamless wheather I'm working in my iMac or iPad.
Please help!

i dont think pages for iOS does exactly what your looking for. If i were you i would just google outline apps for iPad. There are some highly rated ones that use icould sync, as well as other methods and services. Those are made exclusively for what your looking to do and most arent very expensive.

Purchasing license online for iWork

I am trying to purchase my license online for iWork. I have a trial version on my MacBook Pro, but when I use Safari to pay it doesn't want to open the link. When I use Firefox it just stays blank. Currenty I click on the link to buy now when the trial dialogue box appears. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem here in the UK. I have searched apple websites for an answer and spoken to tech support but nobody seems to know the solution. I was told I would have to buy another copy of iWork. That just seems a waste of time, materials and the fuel and effort required to get it to me.
The trial is a fully working version (even allowed me to download the upgrades) so please, Apple, just let me buy the serial number.
