Hey, my (original, 16gb) phone was working fine all day. I started to download 2.1, and tried to add some movies (I have manual synch enabled) when I got an unknown error message. I ok'd, and continued on, and now whenever I connect my phone, I get a message "The iPhone _ cannot be used with iTunes because the information required for activation could not be obtained from the iPhone." and in smaller text, "check that the SIM card is inserted and that it is not PIN-locked." The iPhone screen says to connect to iTunes, and restarting it didn't remove this message. I'm positive that the sim card is inserted, as I used my phone multiple times today, and I've never PIN-Locked my phone. Could this issue be caused by the phone being in airplane mode? I put it in airplane mode to use some old iPod speakers, and forgot to take it out. I've never gotten this before. Please help me.

I may have figured it out. I called apple (which you may want to do rather than try this alone). I had them stumped at first but then he had me force the phone into recovery mode. I held down both buttons until I got the apple logo and it went black at which point he said it is completely off.
Then he had me unplug it which it already was. Then I held down the home button and plugged it in until I saw the usb plug again then I let it go. As I say, you may want to call them and tell them what I did to fix mine. I am sitting here watching it as it restores from my backup. Good luck and reply back if you have questions. I will try to answer them but I am no expert.

The information required for Activation cannot be obtained!

While upgrading to the 2.0.1 iPhone Firmware the phone locked and now it won't sync with iTunes in that it states that "The iPhone cannot be used with iTunes because the information required for activation cannot be obtained from the iPhone." Does this mean that the iPhone needs to be returned, or is their a manual way to fix this problem?

To enter recover mode:
1. Turn your phone OFF. If you can't turn it off, FORCE a turn off by holding down the Power and the Home buttons together for 5 seconds.
2. While your phone is turned OFF, HOLD DOWN the Home button. Keep it held down.
3. Connect your phone to the USB cable on your computer. KEEP the Home button held down during all this time.
4. Keep holding the Home button down until you see the iTunes/restore screens appear on your computer and your iPhone.

License key requirement for OSX server

I am confused about the licensing requirements for commercial copies of OSX server. I have an old G5 Xserve that came with no software and the system drive was toast. I have been running Ubuntu on it and hardware-wise it is fine. However I would like to get it running OSX server, preferably Leopard as I think that is the last version that is compatible with the PPC hardware.
Anyway I am confused about the software license. If I buy a copy of Leopard server from Ebay or another source, should it come with the license number or whatever is needed, or was this only available as part of the original hardware issue? If so, is there anyway to recover this from the hardware or from Apple so that I can run this as intended.

Couple of things:
OS X Server 10.5 is the terminal system for the PPC G5 systems so that's where you should be looking.
You do need a serial number for OSXS and that should come with whatever discs you purchase. (There's a sticker on the outside of the disc wrapper like most software.)
The Xserve came with system disks but I don't think Apple has a policy of resupplying OSXS system disks if you lose your originals, if that's what you're asking.
The good news is that G5 Xserves are much more liberal about accepting non-Apple replacement disks so you're probably ready once you get the system disks.

What license is required for import/export AcroForms and Submit button

I want to know what kind of license do I need to programmatically interact with AcroForms and AcroFields for a asp.net web application.
I use a third party software (Aspose) to import/export AcroField data value and also dynamically modify some of the fields.
I also want to place a Submit button on the PDF so users can submit field data to a web server with free PDF readers.
Have anyone done this before?

Here are the steps I'm invisioning:
1. The PDF form template is created with Acrobat Pro and Reader Rights is DISABLED.
2. The user logins in to a web page and then clicks on a link to download the PDF template.
3. Before the PDF is streamed to the client browser, the PDF template is modified with Aspose to fill in some personalized user data.
4. User downloads a PDF with his/her data pre-filled.
5. User saves and opens the PDF with PDF reader, fill in some more data and clicks on the Submit button on PDF.
6. Submit button sends all the AcroFields that has data filled in back to a web server.
7. Server processes the data accordingly.
So, will a regular Acrobat Pro license be enough for this use?

From my reading of it, the free licenses that are obtained by registering are only valid for development purposes only - not deployment as you are doing. So I believe that a professional license will need to be obtained for each server that the product will be deployed to.
Note: I am not a sales rep / lawyer - so I would recommend talking to someone on our sales team who can give you a better idea of the requirements - what I have stated above is my opinion.

Usage / License Agreement required for login

Hi,
Has anyone implemented a required usage agreement in 5.x?
I am moving from 4.5 where I would show the usage agreement inside the portal.
I have no problem with creating a login PEI, but am not sure what is the best way
to show the agreement page (inside the portal framework or as a pop-up)or to log them out if the do not agree.

The Licensing FAQ explicitly mentions
"Under cloud computing, Oracle Standard Edition One may only be licensed on EC2 instances up to 8 virtual cores."
I'm not clear where your application sits in relation to your database.
If the database is not directly accessible to the internet (ie you are not giving them SQL access), then the user is interacting with the application, and the database is 'internal' to your company. Generally you have a firewall to make sure it is internal.
If you are using XE's default Apex as the application, the situation may be different as they are interacting directly with a component of XE.
If you are using an updated Apex, you'll be guided by the license on that, which is slightly different to the XE and standard OTN license. A careful reading of the license indicates that you are only licensed to install it either on a paid-for Oracle db, or for development, though Oracle have documented and coded it to be installed on XE.

IPlanet performance information required (for sizing a new system)

iPlanet performance. I am currently sizing a nre system and need some information around the performance of iPlanet. For example, the number of pages served against CPU usage. Is License transfer required for what I intend to do?

Adobe has an enticing offer of 50% off off the Production Premium suite. It's available in many markets, but not here in India. However, I have an uncle who lives in Canada. I intend for him to make the purchase from the Adobe Online Store. A cursory search indicates that a few people have done this before. However, a couple of queries:
1) if my uncle creates an Adobe ID and buys the software as an ESD, does he automatically become the original licensee or just remain the purchaser until it's registered? He won't download the software after purchase, unless I ask him to. Does the same answer apply to retail box purchase?
2)If he does become the original licensee, just via the sale transaction, the License Transfer form should suffice to get it in my name, right?
3)If he does NOT become the original licensee, can I then register the product with my Adobe ID?

All download software is pre-registered to the purchaser's user account, so yes, a transfer of license may be required at some point. It has no influence on activation, though. So as long as you're on good terms with your uncle and get the serials, you can "keep it in the family", I guess and need not rush the transfer.

Definitely 2 million billing documents is a huge amount of datas and in foreground, I reckon, you will get a dump error. Instead, go to VF05N, click from top menu bar "Program -- Execute in background", set date and time (should be for night) and save. Next day check the report how it is generated.

Information required for all currency formats settings.

I need information in Web Dynpro Java for currency format.
currently I have following fields in application:-
1.Wrbtr Amount in document currency
2.Waers Currency Key
In local dictionary I could see Amount type as simple type in external representation I could see #,###.00## format.
This format has a problem with Yen currency that if ECC shows 1000.00 then Portal shows only 100.00.
Please let me know how dictionary works about pair of keys an values of above fields.

to correctly format BigDecimal price values depending on a given currency YOU MUST apply structure binding:
- define a dictionary structure with a currency field AND an amount field and relate the amount field to the currency field.
- bind a context node to this structure so that the context attributes are created from the sturcture fields.
In this way the Java Dictionary Runtime will correctly format the decimal places for the amount depending on the given currency key (see ISO 4217). For the Jordanian Dollar JOD three decimal places are rendered, for the Japan Yen (JPY) zero.

BAPI's are what xMII uses (usually) to communicate to ERP. Information on BAPIs use to be available at ifr.sap.com and was very useful. For some reason (grrr) that site is no longer available. However, you can still find information on BAPIs by using transaction code SE37 from SAP GUI.
BAPIs are basically web services that xMII passes XML formatted data to and from to either query ERP, record data, or perform transactions against ERP. There is a boat load of information on xMII and ERP Templates using the BAPIs on the sdn at:
