From the download page:
Free to download, free to learn, unlimited evaluation
All software downloads are free, and each comes with a Development License that allows you to use full versions of the products only while developing and prototyping your applications (or for strictly self-educational purposes). In some cases, certain downloads (such as Beta releases) have licenses with slightly different terms. You can buy products with full-use licenses at any time from the online Store or from your sales representative.
Further information is in the mentioned licence agreement.

  • If bought NI USB-6800 device, is Measurement Studio free for dev?

If bought a NI USB-6800 device, is Measurement Studio free for VC++ development?
Do I need to buy the Measurement Studio license?
Or is there another way to do the VC++ development? Such as via some free dll or ocx library.
Plus I noticed that there are UNIX/Linux drivers about NI USB-6800 device, but there is no document about C/C++ development under UNIX/Linux!
Can I do the development with NI USB-6800 device under UNIX/Linux?
An individual human existence should be like a river - small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls. Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being.

Unfortunately it is in windows. Windows doesn't recognize the device. I don't know, is this a problem because of running WinXP in Mac?
That may well be the problem.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

    Hi,
Its simple. Check your Output Type in SPAD. where in also check the printer driver name. printer drivers is named in the SAP system with unique four character
    code, such as STN2.
The default will be SWIN: Windows (SAPlpd/SAPWIN). Compare your Dev System.
    Feel free to revert back.

    Hi There,
We would like to inform you that you have got the serial number for Mac, it would not work on Mac machine as it is OS specific.
If you wish you use a mac machine that you can swap the platform please refer the below mentioned link.

  • Separate CSM license required for "Dev" environment

We would like to setup a CSM Dev server - is it necessary to have a separate CSM license for this?

Anyone with a valid Cisco.com account can download Cisco Security Manager and use the software for up to 90 days in evaluation mode. Go to http://www.cisco.com/go/csmanager and access the “Download Software” link.
Use beyond 90 days requires a permanent license.
That said, there's not really a need to have separate CSM instances for dev and production per se unless there's a srict corporate policy enforced in that regard.
For more details on licensing please refer here (deployment planning guide) and here (product bulletin). The lowest entry level license is a 5-device CSM Standard (CSMST5-4.2-K9). If that's too costly for you, the option is to simply use the native GUI (like ASDM).
    Hope this helps.

  • Do we need to buy the license from SAP for EACH 'Z'form

    Hello
I heard that, we (company) have to take license for the development of EACH adobe interactive form (even though its totally custom brand-new interactive form created from scratch), on individual form basis, is it true? (i know, its free of cost to play around with interactive forms in DEV and QA, but, if we want to move them to PROD, in that case do we need to buy the license from SAP for EACH form individually?)
    Thank you

Thats true...license based on end user usage is required for SAP interactive forms. For more information read SAP note number 750784. The license comes in package like per 1000 users one time payment.

  • Is Standard Edition free for development purpose

    Hello,
I am using Oracle 10g express edition on a 32-bit Redhat Enterprise Linux 4. My test database have come upto 2gb and after that the database stopped working. I have been told to change to 64-bit OS through forums because of the 2gb file size limitation for 32-bit OS. When I checked the Oracle downoad site, there is no 32-bit Oracle express edition 10g. There is a 64-bit Oracle standard edition. Is Oracle 10g Standard Edition free for development purposes? What about Oracle 11g Standard edition?

All Oracle software, though, is available for download from OTN with a license that allows you to prototype your application. Once the application is beyond the prototype phase, you'd need to purchase an appropriate license for your development environment, but you may just be looking at prototyping...
As well, note that the database size and RAM restrictions in the express edition would not be expected to change if Oracle ever released a 64-bit version. The whole point of those restrictions is to ensure that the free express edition doesn't cannibalize sales of the standard edition databases.

  • Is the Oracle database free for private persons?

Is the Oracle database free for private developers, just testing the database, or do I have to personally contact them in order to pay them? I just went to the Oracle download page and downloaded 2 pcs. 1 GB install files, installed the database on my Windows 7 machine and then started using it.

Did you pay heed to the license agreement you accepted before downloading the software ? The usage restrictions are spelled out clearly.

The limits for 11g XE are also documented -

  • Licensing XML libraries for commercial use...

After reading the license terms for the XML parser for 'C', I am confused. The license document embedded in the download package, says you need to contact Oracle to license the library for commercial use. However, the click-wrap license for the OTN says you can use the technologies in commercial products. These totally contradict each other. I called Oracle and asked the following question, and after talking with 3 people, nobody knew a difinitive answer.
Here is the question: If I use the Oracle XML parser for 'C' library in the construction of a commercial application that I am selling, do I need purchase a license from Oracle to do this? If so, who do I contact?
    Thanks,
    - Ted

It doesn't matter to me as much that the two agreements are different. What I am most concerned with is that BOTH say that I cannot build commercial/for-sale products using the kit without paying for a license. Who do I contact to get a license to use?
I called the number on the agreement and spoke to people who had no idea what I was talking about, nor who I could talk to.
Also, since you asked, I have attached the two different sections from the two license agreements below.
    Thanks,

  • Is it FREE for commercial use?

    Dear all,
Has been using Skype for the past few years, and mostly for my personal usage.
Just to clarify something about Skype Licensing, is it FREE for commercial use? For example, I myself and my current/ex colleagues are using Skype for working related purposes, be it just texting or calls or video calls. Do we need to purchase licenses/subscription for commercial use? For your reference, we're from Malaysia.
Appreciate if anyone there care to explain on this matter.
    Regards,
    Edmund

I would start by looking at Oracle information - while we can provide hints and give guidance, Oracle is the only legal source for license information.
My suggestion in general is to use the Oracle site and the Oracle docs, and take a hard copy of that information as backup in case of legal challenges.
That said, the intent for XE is to provide a 'no license fee to put into production' version of Oracle Database Server. It has limited functionality (no Java in DB, limited storage and memory) so it is not generally a worry for Oracle. The supporting references are
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/express-edition/overview/index.html - which says "It's free to develop, deploy, and distribute; ..." and
"Oracle Database XE is a great starter database for:
Developers working on PHP, Java, .NET, XML, and Open Source applications
DBAs who need a free, starter database for training and deployment
Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and hardware vendors who want a starter database to distribute free of charge
Educational institutions and students who need a free database for their curriculum
as well as http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/license.112/e18068/toc.htm, in which we read
    "License Rights
We grant you a nonexclusive, nontransferable limited license to use the programs for: (a) purposes of developing, prototyping and running your applications for your own internal data processing operations; (b) you may also distribute the programs with your applications; (c) you may use the programs to provide third party demonstrations and training; and d) you may copy and distribute the programs to your licensees provided that each such licensee agrees to the terms of this Agreement. • Is Oracle free for science?

    Hi
Can anyone explain me is Oracle RDBMS free for scientific research (because research is non-commercial and non-production)?
    Thank you in advance

Licensing questions really need to be addressed to Oracle Sales. Any answers we provide here are not binding on Oracle. And if there is ever a question in the future, relying on advice from "some guy on the internet" is probably not a position you want to be in.
When you download software from OTN, you agree to a license. You'll want to read that carefully
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/popup-license/standard-license.html
Based on my (very unofficial) reading of the clause
"If you use the application you develop under this license for any internal data processing or for any commercial or production purposes, or you want to use the programs for any purpose other than as permitted under this agreement, you must contact us, or an Oracle reseller, to obtain the appropriate license."
I would tend to assume that your application would be used for "internal data processing," and would thus require a license.
Of course, if you have less than 4 GB of data, you could always use the totally free express edition.

  • Is SDM free for CCNA holders?

    Hi guys,
I'm studying for my CCNA Security, and I wanted to have so practice with the SDM firewall.
So I went to the download section of CISCO, and I ended up on :
    5.
That Cisco reserves the right to: (a) charge you for, and you agree to pay for, software /signature file downloads to which you are not entitled, and (b) immediately suspend or terminate your access to this web site if you Download software to which you are not so entitled
I don't have any cisco device yet!, Does it mean that I have to buy SDM? Is it free for Cisco Certified people?
    Cheers

    Alexandre
In general Cisco licenses software to the original purchaser and not to the router. So if a Cisco router is sold the license technically does not transfer with the purchase. I believe that this applies to SDM. So if you purchase a router (like an 861w) you purchase the router but not a license. And the license is the key to being able to download software.
One option to consider might be to purchase a used router and then apply to Cisco to put it under maintenance. If the router is accepted for a maintenance contract then it gives you the ability to download software. This is feasible but probably expensive so it may not be a real attractive alternative.
Cisco has been developing some on line labs. So there might be  a possibility that there would be an online lab that would include hands on experience with SDM.

  • Installed Adobe Fonts free for commercial use

    Hello,
I want to ask if the fonts which will be installed on my system by installing the Creativ-Suite are free for commercial use?
    Does anybody can help me?
    Ralf

It depends on what you mean by “commercial use."  If you plan to create an illustration or piece of art which uses the grass brush to create a grass pattern/texture as part of the image, the answer would be "yes."  If you would like to repackage or distribute a brush as part of another product or application, the answer would be "no."
You can find out more by reading the license agreement for your product, found at http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas.
