License Problem after formating Hard Drive

Hello,
I'm french, so my english isn't very good, I'm sorry for this.
I have got a problem with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 license.
My Grandfather bought this software 5month ago and installed it in his computer.
He lend me the CD and I installed it in my computer too without any problems.
But Last month I had to format my Hard Drive, so I had to make a new OS installation too.
I tried to install adobe photoshop elements 8 but my License seems to be invalid.
I heard that a license can be used in only two computers. But the software is still on two computers (I just format my Hd), and the software doesn't seem to notice it.
How can I recover my license?

Thank you for your quick answer!
I entered my serial number at the installation (is that the right word for "set up"?) and there wasn't any problem.
But after I connect to the internet, this window appear
So I type my serial number (for the second time) and a red cross appear
And I can't go further.
The software may think that my key has already been registered in two computer. He think that my pc with a new OS is a different PC. But it's the same. (Sorry I'm not very clear^^).
My Key is a legal one.
I would like to remove the older key of the last os from the adobe database and used this key on my new OS.
I think, when we install an adobe software on a computer, if we change computer, we can delete it from the first one and use it on the new pc, it's not irreversible Am I right?

  • Problem - cannot format hard drive even after replacement

Dead hard drive. I was able to recover part of the data in firewire mode.
Rebooting from OSX disk hangs with a circle slash. Same if I try to reboot with Diskwarrior CD or TTPro. Removing the hard drive has the same result.
Booting from an external firewire utility drive is successful, however I'm unable to successfully reformat the hard drive. Disk Utility sees the drive, and begins to reformat, but hangs at about 10%, and it instantly shows more than 10 partitions but none of them successfully are created. Drive Genius just fails to initialize.
I tried a different hard drive, same result.
Apple Hardware Test and TTpro all show that hardware is OK.
    Any ideas?

    Hi James,
I'm not clear on some things:
"Rebooting from OSX disk hangs with a circle slash.
Same if I try to reboot with Diskwarrior CD or TTPro.
Removing the hard drive has the same result.
Correct. I cannot boot from ANY bootable CD except AHT, not even with the internal drive completely disconnected.

reformat the hard drive. Disk Utility sees the drive,

First you say you can't boot with DW or TTP, then you
say AHT and TTP show hardware is OK. So you
can boot with DW and TTP?
I cannot boot from ANY CD. But I CAN boot from an external firewire drive. My iPod is a diagnostic drive, which includes TTP and AHT. Oh, and I CAN boot from an AHT CD but only into AHT, not beyond AHT into the finder.
Are you running an OS on the external HD that's at
least as new as the one that originally shipped on
    the PB?
Yes. It's the brand new version of Protogo that just came out in Jan 07. I've also tried CD's from 9.1 to 10.4.
Have you reseated your RAM? Tried with just one
module? Switched that module to the other slot?
Repeated same process with other module?
Yes, that was actually the first thing I tried.
If still no luck, try removing the bottom cover,
gently snugging up all the screws you can find,
flipping the keyboard up and doing the same, then try
    booting (with bottom cover off).
If still no luck, I would try the
    href="http://www.posner.net/marc/projects/TiBook/TiBoo
    k.html">Orange Ribbon Cable Fix.
If still no luck, sounds like a logic board issue, or
possible the display cables in the hinges.
    Tried that too...no change.

  • Why after formatting hard drive still get error

this is what i recieve after i have formatted the hard drive. how can i fix

The first attempt (as the picture clearly show) was a try to recover data from the disk. Right?
This try failed cause the disk's structure is corrupted as also been clearly showed on the picture.
Then you tried Disk Utility to fix the disk. This failed too, because the disk structure is corrupted. The Disk Utility screenshoot shows that.
If the the Disk Utility's "repair disk" did not fix the problem there is only one last chance.
Use Disk Utility to delete the partitioning scheme, define a new HFS+ scheme and repartition the drive.
If then are still error's in the Disk Utility, I'm afraid your drive is dead and must be replaced.

  • Getting music from Ipod after formatting hard drive

I had to format my hard drive recently...
The music is still on my ipod how do i get it off and into the reinstalled program... music from ipod -> ipod program
I'm not happy about the prospect of losing my music and all of my pictures

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option, enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer" in Windows or Finder on a Mac, open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
    Disk Use.
If you only copied the photos as thumbnails, you can't do this so you'll need a program such as this one.

  • Problems after formatting external drive

I have recently formatted a partition on my external WD drive. One partition has mac os x extended file system on it as a format, the other I formatted using a PC, as the NTFS file system. When I plug into the Mac both show up, but no information can be exchanged between the PC part of it. I get a message saying the drive can't be modified. I want to try and format it again with my Mac but I can not access it through the system utility as a single drive. Meaning it won't let me do anything with the PC itself. Now if I highlight the entire Hard drive, I can only partition it. I have locked the Mac portion of it and would like to format the other half as MS-DOS file system but am worried about loosing information on the Mac part of it. If I format can the info on the locked portion be saved or does the entire drive get partitioned. Thanks

    Hi
Let me confirm - if you go into Disk Utility on the Mac, select the NTFS partition on the left, go to the Erase tab, you are NOT able to change the format to MS-DOS and re-format? Is the "Volume Format" option greyed out?
That would not affect the Mac partition. Re-partitioning the drive using the Partition tab would wipe all data from all partitions.

  • Unable to initialize installer for CS5 after formatting hard drive.

I just reformatted my computer's hard drive and I'm trying to re-install CS5, but every time I try to run the set-up for the installer it errors out with the message, "Installer faled to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." I have downloaded and run the Support Advisor but it has detected no additional issues, and adobe support just told me to come here.

  • My iMovie 9 will not install after formatting hard drive and installing Mavericks what are my options?

I have not used my iMovie ever since I formatted my Hard Drive and installed Mavericks. I went to put the disk in from when ilife was originally shipped with the computer and it just spits the disk right back out of the superdrive. Is there anything I can do to not have it just spit a disk out without asking for user input. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to buy the new version.

Here are the original specs of your computer. The specs state that the original hard drive was 320GB. You have since replaced the factory drive with a 1TB (1000GB) hard drive. The HP recovery routine seems to have issues with hard drives that deviate from the original size. The partition issues you are experiencing may be a result of this. As for the rest of your issues, it sounds like the SP3 install went bad.
If I were you, I would consider reinstalling the OS using your recovery discs by doing a complete "destructive" reinstall/recovery. Afterward, I would post the size of both the c: and d: partitions... and go from there.

  • Problems after changing hard drives

Hello, I have a Toshiba L655 part.no PSK1JE (if necessary also put the serial no).I changed my hard drive by putting a new SSD, but I have problems in choosing the right drivers. I tried on the site, but I downloaded the drivers are not installed, as if they were incompatible. Could you kindly link me all the drivers needed to run my notebook? So save them and next time I have them all available. Thank You.

    Satellite L655-121 (PSK1JE - 03H00HIT)
    Downloads here.
For the laptop to work as designed, you need to install essentially all of the drivers and utilities at that site. The order is important. So start with a fresh install of 64-bit Windows 7. You should install the Intel chipset utility followed by the ATI display driver. I would install the other Intel drivers next.
Install the Value Added Package before any other Toshiba utility.

  • Speaker problem after changing hard drive

    Hi,
Yesterday I changed my powerbook's hard drive to a nice big 250Gb one and proceded to install Leopard on it. However, ever since I've changed the hard drive my speakers have been making a horrible loud noise. When I plug headphones in to the jack the noise from the speakers stops and I get perfect sound through my headphones. The noise starts as soon as I turn the powerbook on but stops for a short period during the boot sequence.
    Any ideas ?
PS: I'm not 100% sure I put the screws back in the right place but I had no screws left after putting the powerbook back together.

    Bienvenue!
First, try resetting your PMU: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431
If that doesn't do it, recommend you reopen the powerbook to ensure that all cables are securely attached.

  • Time machine back up problem after new hard drive install

After having my hard drive replaced I restored using time machine (Seagate backup drive)  There are 2 users of  this iMac.  After restoring I seem to have all my stuff back but the other user has nothing, no pics etc.  I assumed that time machine backed up everything on the computer.  Is it possible that it only backed up my data? If not, how do I restore the other users data.  Appreciate any help with this!

How did you restore the computer? If you used migrate it is important you prepared the computer correctly. If you already setup the user name that pre-existed on the old hard disk migrate will not work properly.. you cannot restore to the same username. So you might need to do the restore again.. (migrate but to a different location eg a USB drive and pick up the files from there).. TM should backup all users that previously were on the computer.. but how you restored will affect how it behaves now.

  • Why can't my Macbook Air startup after formatting hard drive?

    Hello fellow apple users,
I recently decided to restore my macbook air to factory settings.  I held command + R at startup and from there went to disk utilities and formatted the hard drive. I have done this several times in the past. I  restarted my computer before anything else over curiosity (which was a stupid mistake). My computer restarted and nothing happened. Just a blank black screen. The sound from when it turns on was there but nothing else.  I tried literally all of the start up commands but none of those worked.  I tried internet recovery but it could not connect to the internet and it gave me an error saying 2013f.  Does anyone know how i can fix this? I am on a wifi connection with a proxy. Does that have anything to do with it unable to connect?

Because by formatting the hard drive, you erased the operating system... You need to re-install  OS X.
You're probably going to have to connect to a different network. The proxy server is probably interfering with your ability to download and re-install.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.
