Licensed copy of Lightroom at end of CC subscription

I am currently trialling Creative Cloud (Photography package).
I currently own a licensed copy of Lightroom 5.5. If I subscribe and, during that subscription, Adobe updates Lightroom to Lightroom 6, what happens to my licensed copy?

Thanks for the fast response John. I'll give it a try.  Follow Up. I "uninstalled" Lightroom but the cloud won't let me download another copy. Since there's no uninstaller with Lightroom i just deleted the app file. I was uncertain whether to delete the files listed as optional in the forum uninstall procedures - (actually was afraid to do it). Any suggestions?

The latest update, LR 5.6.  And make sure the computer’s OS is OSX 10.7 or Windows 7 or newer.

  • How do I update a licensed local copy of Lightroom 5.7?

I shoot with a Leica, and Leica owners receive licensed local copies of Lightroom with the purchase of our camera bodies (lucky us? I'm sure the price is built in!)
I gave the Photography Creative Cloud a try, but I don't have use for Photoshop and the CC version of Lightroom caused frustrating conflicts with the existing licensed copy on my Macbook Pro.
When I attempt to update my local copy of Lightroom 5.7, I go to "Help" > "Check for updates..."
A window appears titled "Lightroom Update Available" and it lists the new software's features. HDR Merge in particular looks like something I might like to try.
When I click the "Download..." button, no download starts. Something really funny happens.
My internet browser opens and navigates to the product sales page for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC.
How can I download the update to a local licensed copy without a subscription to the Creative Cloud?

OK, wasn't entirely clear.  Adobe also posts updates on these pages:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows

I own a copy of lightroom 5 (a download copy) and have had to install a new hard disk. I can't remember how I got the current copy but I think I may have downloaded a monthly rental copy because the program is asking me to pay a subscription fee.  I was expecting to get a message to install my serial numbers.

You downloaded the trial version for the creative cloud. It doesn't work with a serial number. It is licensed differently. You will have to uninstall it and then download and install from here:

  • No longer can launch a licensed copy of CS6 Design Standard

After being unable to install the 16.0.3 update to Illustrator either via manually or via software update several days ago, I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling my licensed copy of CS6 Design Standard which I had bought and downloaded from the Adobe Store.  Moments ago, I tried to launch Photoshop.  Instead Adobe Application Manager launched and informed me that I was required to sign in to start my software trial.  Why am I now getting a message to start a software trial when I have installed the software suite and entered the license code Adobe issued me?

Yes.  Each time that I have installed CS6, I have reached the "Welcome" screen which includes 2 options: License (I have a license code.) and Trial.  I click on the License option and, when the next screen appears, I have entered my license code which has now been verified by Adobe.  The installation proceeds normally but, when I start to work on a project in any of the suite apps, I start getting prompts to sign in again.  I might also point out 2 additional things When I installed CS6 for the first time, I was prompted to enter a license code from a product (CS5.5 in this case) qualifying me for the upgrade version of CS6.  In my latest uninstalls/reinstalls, I have not been prompted for this qualifying license code.  Second, this nightmare began when I, like many others couldn't get the latest update (16.0.3) to Illustrator to install either through software update or by manually downloading the installer.  Some other users found that, by uninstalling/reinstalling Illustrator, the update would install.  I tried this but that didn't work for me and, when I started receiving dialogue boxes that said I could use this trial version for 32000+ days (I kid you not.), I decided to uninstall/reinstall CS6 from the original dmg file downloaded from Adobe.  Earlier today, I contacted Adobe and was issued a case number.  I have reinstalled CS6 using the verified license code so we'll see what happens.

  • LR3 - Cannot edit in Photoshop CS4 ("Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments")

Having just purchased LR3, it seems that when I select "Edit a copy with Lightroom Adjustments", that the LR adjustments aren't being carried across into CS4. I am only given the original file in PS.
    Is this a known bug?

So what do you think might be the problem, Dorin?
I don't know. I haven't seen a bug (assuming it is indeed a bug, and not an operator error) like this is mentioned here in the forums.
This issue is going to affect my business in a major way.
If this is so critical to your business, you can use a workaround meanwhile.
Use the regular export command with the following options:
File type: PSD/TIFF; other relevant filetype options.
    Location: same as original photo.
Add to this catalog: checked. Stack with original: as needed.
    Post-processing: open in Photoshop.
Save this as an Export presets and invoke it from the File->Export with Preset from the menu.
The end result is the same as Edit in Photoshop.

  • Copy of lightroom on pc and desktop?

i need to send my laptop away for repair,so i have recently bought a desktop and i was wondering if it was possible to have a copy of lightroom on both with one license for £9 per month?
    thanks in advance, Ewendykes

Also, when I look up my order history and downloads on Adobe, my serial
number is associated with an  "LR5 Mac/Win, English version but says its
"not applicable" but there is a download version "Multiple Languages"
available, which doesn't have a serial no.  Is english one of the multiple
languages included in that version, do you know?

  • Is the serial number the same as the license key for Lightroom 5?

I have Adobe Lightroom 5 on my Mac and Lightroom works great.  I want to do a clean install of OS X on the Mac.  That means I will have to erase and reinstall Lightroom.  I will need the license key for Lightroom.  I couldn’t find anything that says License Key, but I do have the serial number of my copy of Lightroom.  Is the serial number the same as the license key?

    Yes.

  • How to install purchasedt copy of Lightroom on laptop without DVD drive?

I bought a copy of Lightroom 5 from Amazon and loaded onto my desktop where it works very well.  However, when I downloaded the trial version onto my laptop, and I tried to license it with the serial number from the disc I just purchased from Amazon, it said serial number is invalid.  Hard to believe I would not be able to use my purchase on the various platforms that I use regularly.

Perhaps you downloaded the CC version rather than the perpetual license version.
Try downloading from here (PC): Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows
or here, if you have a Mac: Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh

  • I own a licensed copy of LR 5.4 and Photoshop CS5. If I lease the LR/Photoshop combo, and later decide against it, will I still have my purchased copies of LR and Photoshop?

I own a licensed copy of LR 5.4 (downloaded) and Photoshop CS5. If I lease the LR/Photoshop combo, and later decide against it, will I still have my purchased copies of LR and Photoshop?
Also, if I lease LR, will the downloaded copy have to be started from scratch or will the pictures I already have be in it.
    Thanks

Yes. Those are perpetually licensed products with their own serial numbers. They'll keep working provided you have the hardware and operating system to run them.
Subscribing to Adobe Cloud products - including the PS + LR combo - has no effect on your ownership of your perpetually licensed products.
Also, if I lease LR, will the downloaded copy have to be started from scratch or will the pictures I already have be in it.
Lightroom is database driven via the Lightroom Catalogue.
Once you've successfully installed the subscription version, open your existing Lightroom catalogue and everything will be the same as before.

  • I cannot use my own copy of Lightroom, after changing PC.

Hi, I recently changed my PC (Windows) after a hard drive failure.
I own my personal copy of Lightroom, registerd under my adobe account.
When I tried to download the installer, I could only dowload Creative Suite, with 30 days LR trial. After 30 days of use, I thought i could register the program with my license key, but I only got option of buying a Creative Cloud membership.
So the question is: how can I register my LR5 license and use full stand-alone product (as I used to do before my PC failure)0, without spending more money on CC membership?
    Thanks for your attention.
    Alessandro

    Try below step once.
    Close Lightroom window
hold windows key on your keyboard and Press R key.
In Run window type %programdata% and click on ok
    Open Adobe > Lightroom folders
Delete Lightroom 5 install cookie file and Lightroom 5 registrator file
Then launch Lightroom and check if you are getting the option to enter serial number.
    normally it should work
If not working, uninstall lightroom, then download it from
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1 : Thank You

  • My licensed copy of CS6 downloads but won't accept the serial number

I have a licensed copy of Photoshop CS6 (supplied only as a download by Adobe).  Following a computer crash, I needed to re-install CS6, the download completed, the software then asked for the serial no. which I duly entered, and despite the fact it is the registered number for this software (also shown in our Adobe account and from my own records), adobe will not register it, instead a window pops up after entering the required details, claiming that the registered number is not for the product it just downloaded.  This is a total contradiction of what is clearly shown on their own log of my purchases, which show exactly the same number entered for my copy of CS6.  Of course, despite the fact I only bought the damn software 9  months ago, they do not allow access to support in order for them to correct something that is clearly Adobe's own bug.  Basically, I have bought a very expensive program and they, in their wisdom have created a problem that means I can no longer have access to it.  This is daylight robbery and a shameful way to treat loyal customers who have spent thousands of pounds over the years for licensed copies of Adobe software.  All I ask is that a customer service advisor, correct the fault and register my copy with the number it has on record, because, for some reason, it won't let me do it.  I have today worked with a kind Microsoft technician for 6 hours, trying to re-install my licensed copy on to my restored version of windows to no avail, Adobe really do need to give people access to their own staff so that registry errors like this can be solved.  Lets face it, a forum is not going to be able to fix this one is it.

I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS6 (standard) from Adobe, once finished it then opened a window asking if I want it activated as a 30 day trial or as a licensed copy and once I choose the latter. It requested the serial number, so I entered the serial number applying to the licensed version I have of Photoshop CS6 (the same program I downloaded) which was then rejected, with an error message that stated that, although the serial number is valid, the program cannot be found on my computer (that is a mystery to me, given that it has just spent half an hour downloading it and has followed the download with the prompts), I was then prompted to choose from a drop down menu below.  The drop down menu shows the extended version of Photoshop CS6 but not the standard version that I bought last May, effectively preventing me from installing my own version of the software.  Is this a way that Adobe have of forcing everyone into ongoing contracts on cloud.  I just bought the program, I don't want to go on cloud.  Adobe's security was breached before and why should I be forced to pay twice.
After helping me reinstall windows 8.1 on to my computer an Engineer from Microsoft struggled with this all afternoon and most of this evening, and even he could not get it to work, so what chance have I got if he can't do it and Adobe refuse to help.

  • My computer with a licensed copy of CS4 died. I want to install it on my new computer. I cannot deactivate CS4 on my old computer, because it no longer runs, and I no longer have it.

I want to install my licensed copy of CS4 (from the CD--Windows version) onto a new computer that I recently purchased. My OLD computer died in July.  I cannot deactivate the CS4 software on that computer. It has now been gutted (because a local tech guy was trying to fix it, but he couldn't) and I no longer even have the computer. So I would like to transfer that license to my new computer.
I have been able to "install" the software from the CD, but it doesn't completely "work". It looked like everything was OK initially but it won't recognize certain keystrokes, etc. and is not functional, which I figure is the software's way of saying "too many installs on this license."
So now what do I do...is there any way I can get "permission" to install this so it will work?

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • How many computers can I install the same licensed copy?

When I purchased LR4 in April, I thought, I could install one copy on up to two computers that I owned (my desktop & my laptop).  Tried to install my licensed copy of LR4 this morning and was asked if I wanted to buy a number to install LR4 on my laptop, what gives?  Did I miss something!
    Jack

Just enter your serial number (didn't it ask for one)? There may be a fixed number of installs the EULA allows, like two computers are specified but I don't believe LR, like many other Adobe products tracks this with activation or anything like that. The licence states what you can legally do, you should of course follow this. But I don't know you are forced to.
