Licensing fees

If I purchase a complete copy of developper 6.0 and use it to create an application, when I am finished, does developer 6 provide me with run-time copies of my application?
Do I have to pay any fees everytime I sell my application?
Assuming a customer buys my application with a copy of oracle 8i standard edition 5 users, does he or I have to pay more then the cost of the 5 users license of oracle 8i standard edition?

To compile into an exe you will have to have LabVIEW Professional development (I'm not sure without looking it up what version(s) have the ability to compile), The ability to compile into an exe isn't with every version. If your application uses any add-on toolkits there may be a deployment fee, not sure which ones. If it is "plain vanilla" LabVIEW then the end-user will have to download, or install if you include it with your distribution, the LabVIEW Run-time Engine. This can be done for free, but is a pretty big file. It isn't unlike Visual Basic or VC++, they too require run-time components, theirs just get installed as a part of Windows.
So, if you have a version of LabVIEW that allows you to build exe's, and you aren't using any components that require additional licensing, then there isn't any additional license/fees due National Instruments, As Far As I Know.
Do you have an idea of what components, or how you intend to use it?

  • License fees for NetWeaver?

This might sound stupid, but I've been looking for license fees for Netweaver but I can't find any. I'm trying to estimate the cost for a project.
    Could anyone help me please?

    Hi,
I do not believe SAP posts any license fees for any of its products.  There are a number of variables in the price.  I believe the biggest one is the number of users.   If your company already has any SAP products licensed, may already have a price negotiated for NetWeaver.  I would check with the contracts department in your organization.
Otherwise you will have to contact your companies SAP account rep.  They should be able to give you an estimate.
    Hope this helps.

  • Additional runtime license fees per user in order to use the Java connector

    Hi All,
    I have one question.
Do we require to pay additional runtime license fees per user in order to use the Java connector (Jco) supplied by SAP?
We're currently not using the Jco but are looking into the possibility of using it.
    Thank in Advance.

    Hi All,
    Please answer my question
We need to use Jco to connect to our 4.6C SAP production system. We do not have Portal or any other components. It's just a plain 4.6C system, service pack level is 23.
We are currently paying license fees for using the system on a per user basis.
    Thank You.

  • License fees

    Hi,
I'm wondering about Oracle license fees for a production
environment on Linux. I read a few articles saying Oracle was
free on Linux but they were dated quite a while back. Also I
tried getting in touch with sales but have not yet received a
response. Looking for a quick answer.
    Thanks.

No, license is not requred as such. You can distribute it..
When you create and installer for your AIR app, you will be asked for certificate (which you can create on your own).
Further if you want you code/app to be signed (Authorized) you can get a digital certificate from any certificate provider as Thwate etc..

  • License fees for commercial use

    Hello everyone,
We are developping a software that uses JDK. I would like to know if there will be any fees to give to SUN when we sell the software or if it's a just a contract. I would appreciate the advise of someone who sold a software using JDK or who has some information about that.
    Thanks in advance!

You are free to redistribute the JRE. See sun's pages:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/runtime.html
    (The Java 2 Runtime Environment
    Notes for Developers)
    and
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/j2re1_3_0.license
(The Java 2 Runtime Environment License). The latter is in legalise, but does state that you are free to redistribute it as a complete and unaltered package.

  • Adobe Interactive Forms license fees?

I'm trying to find out what costs are involved with the custom built IF's. In my company, we've not implemented a real SAP based workflow for converting over all our paper to because it just wasn't 'user friendly' enough, until now with IFs. So part of our needs at this point is to know how much in licenses will we have to pay to implement. My sales team from SAP is taking a little too long to get any licensing costs to me and I'm really interested more whether we're talking $10USD per custom form, $1000USD, 50,000USD or is it per user that would use the form or what. If there's a model to determine the cost, that would be even better. We have mySAP Business Suite and for our initial usage, we'd be talking about 3000 users that might touch a form in a workflow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jonathan,
I can shed some light on your question.
If you look at the last <a href="http://sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/2a8a0a37-0301-0010-f794-aecd1bb426e0">FAQ on Interactive Forms</a> , you can see the cases where licenses will apply. These are basically custom-developed interactive forms, or SAP-delivered interactive forms that you as a customer add interactive elements to.
The licensing scheme relates the number of form templates in a production system to the potential number of end users filling in the generated PDF. The smallest 'package' comprises up to 30 templates and up to 500 users.
While there are general global pricing guidelines for Interactive Forms licensing, I cannot reveal any figures as pricing is handled exclusively by the SAP local organizations. This information is communicated exclusively by your SAP sales contact.
    Kind regards,

  • Can you please drop licensing fees for Air runtime on BlackBerry OS?

BlackBerry is about to drop their built-in support of Air on BB10 operating system V10.3.1 and I am told it is due to the cost around licensing issues. Developers are being told to package their Apps as APKs with captive runtime and I would have no issue with that if it actually worked properly!
APKs with captive runtime do not behave correctly, there are some weird bugs:
Keyboard support does not work properly - I have a game that when packaged as an APK none of the keyboard buttons do anything on any BlackBerry with a keyboard. I noticed if I paired a BT keyboard, the arrow buttons work but nothing else...
Whats the deal with keyboard buttons not working with Air captive runtime, yet it works with the Air runtime built into the OS??
I'm aware the drop in built-in OS runtime support is pretty much a done deal, but can you at least fix bugs like that keyboard bug in your AIR runtime and prioritize this? There are loads of apps that are about to die in about a month or so due to issues like this and developers are getting fed up.
Here is a thread on the BlackBerry forums where people are complaining: https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Adobe-AIR-Development/It-s-OFFICIAL-Adobe-AIR-supp ort-dropped-from-10-3-1/td-p/2855618

    Hi ;-)
    1) I have used LR since V1 and since V4 this software along with ALL adobes software has been fiercely deteriorating.
    2) Adobe according to themselves ARE reading and responding to these forums... Unless they support pages are as bull as their "alleged" real human behind a chat ;-)
    3) I process around 30,000 images per week in Lightroom (paid work) and let me tell you at that amount of images... This app is not in the pro league... BUT it COULD be... If only adobe would test their software prior to embarkin on the PAYING public... Perhaps because so manu are using pirated versions of adobes software, they have stopped caring.. As a long time paying client I feel *****-slapped !@
I do NOT beta test for adobe ! If they wanna get rid of their bugs, all they need to do is to contact me and add me to the list.. That will fix at least 100 bugs currently IN the ware... But I highly doubt that they beta test this software... If they do, they should REALLY skim thru their testers and relieve them of their duty - No personal offence meant !

  • ADF Licensing fees info

I am doing an ADF POC for my company. I realize that there is no cost for development. And we already have paid for Weblogic 11gR1,  on which currently forms 11g is deployed.
Based on my online research, I saw some posting where it says if we already have Weblogic paid for then there is no cost to deploy ADF in production. I would appreciate if anyone from
Oracle/Jdev product team could confirm this.
One of the point I am making on my POC is that since we already have weblogic, there is zero cost for developing/deploying ADF.  Is this a valid statement?
    Thanks a lot.

  • SQL Server Express - License Confusion

    Good day everyone,
We were audited for Microsoft Installations recently and the auditing company indicated that we need to pay license fees for SQL Express installations as core components like Reporting Services have been installed with the SQL Express Instance.
Please advise if that is the case, because as far as I know SQL Server Express is free to use and free to deploy. Honestly this sounds like someone trying to make money for something that was provided free of charge to the community.
Thank you in advance for any wisdom shared.

  • The need for the option to purchase perpetual license of Production Bundle

My business has used Adobe products for 15 years. I am a big fan. But I wish to continue purchasing the Production Bundle line of products with perpetual licenses. I have no need for the Cloud. I also want to upgrade from my current version of CS6 as I have done in the past, for about $350. Month to month rental does not work for my business. I also dont feel paying $600 for the Cloud is appropriate since my standard yeaarly upgrades are usually $350. If you folks dont give me a choice I will have to end my use of Adobe software. Many other professionals feel the same way. Please give us an option for ownership. Otherwise you may find you have a mass exodus from folks that have happily purchased your product for years.

    Hi Todd and 001andrew,
I was going through the discussion we were having in last 4-5 post in this thread and it made me reply to your query and concerns.
I think you are mixing up 2 things here "Adobe Creative Cloud" and "Adobe Marketing cloud". Creative cloud comes under Digital Media whereas Marketing cloud comes under Digital Marketing.
Adobe® Marketing Cloud gives you a complete set of analytics, social, advertising, targeting, and web experience management solutions and a real-time dashboard that brings together everything you need to know about your marketing campaigns. So you can get from data to insights to action, faster and smarter than ever.
You can explore more about Marketing cloud on the following link:
    http://www.adobe.com/in/solutions/digital-marketing.html
On the other hand Creative cloud gives you a simple membership which gives you the entire collection of CS6 tools and more. be it print or Interested in websites and iPad apps or Ready to edit video? You can do it all. Plus, Creative Cloud members automatically get access to new products and exclusive updates as soon as they’re released. And, with cloud storage and the ability to sync to any device, your files are always right where you need them.
Adobe Creative Cloud is an ongoing membership that gives your team access to all the Adobe Creative Suite® 6 desktop applications, plus other tools and services including Adobe Muse, Adobe Acrobat XI and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 software, Adobe Edge Tools & Services, and more. Creative Cloud also includes new Internet-based services* and enables the delivery of high-impact content experiences such as interactive websites and stunning digital magazines. By offering connectivity with Adobe Touch Apps†, headlined by Adobe Photoshop Touch, Creative Cloud enables a mobile workflow, from ideation to publishing, to bring the power of Adobe innovation to iPad devices and Android™ tablets. Creative Cloud gives you freedom to create, offering immediate and ongoing access to industry-defining tools and technologies, to serve a vibrant worldwide community of creative talent.
to know more about the creative cloud offering you can visit:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/buying-guide.html
Hope this helps you to understand the concept.
Also on the point where you have mentioned that where Adobe's Quarter result indicate that "Deferred revenue grew by $80.5 million to a record $700.0 million. " This Mean that Adobe has invested a lot in new offerings which is a liability as of now and this will turn into regular revenue in the future financial results.
Just to make it easy to understand deferred revenue means that we have advance payments or unearned revenue, recorded on the Adobe's balance sheet as a liability, until the services have been rendered or products have been delivered. Deferred revenue is a liability because it refers to revenue that has not yet been earned, but represents products or services that are owed to the customer. As the product or service is delivered over time, it is recognized as revenue on the income statement.
Companies generally have sizable amounts of deferred revenues on their balance sheets, typically representing license fees and annual maintenance charges. Analysts study trends in deferred revenues of such companies for a better indication of their financial performance.
So yes it is a good indication for Adobe and promise a great results in future. And obvously we can do it only with our esteemed and respected customers coming along in this great journey for Adobe.
    Cheers!!

  • What is the Partitioning Option license methods with E-Business Suite

I have an E-business suite instance that have some database objects modified but not the objects that use the partitioning option by application defaults and also we didn't implement or use the partitioning option with any other objects; so I'm wondering if i have to pay the license fees for this option or it included in the restricted-use license as long as we didn't use it in any other objects or even modifying the objects that use it by the apps defaults.

  • H.264 Licensing Hassle

I see a lot of articles on the forums talking about making
H.264 work which is a good thing. I'd like to use it myself as a
small web provider of video content. However I don't think I can.
H.264 requires a license for decoding of content for commercial
purposes even if the end user is not paying. For example a site
distributing video that is supported by adlink advertising (the
most common internet model) would seem to require a decode license
to allow the internet broadcast to the end users. This is cost is
well in the thousands it appears and beyond what many small
operators would pay. Does anyone disagree with that anaylsis?
If this is true than H.264 video in a Flash Container is
completely useless for any commerial purpose unless the license
fees are paid. That would be most Internet sites operators that
carry advertising. Anyone have a differing opinion, otherwise I
think we are stuck with VP6.
    BigRockies.com Your Home in the
    Rockies!

I encoded to H.264 from a 1.45GB YUV 4:2:0 file. The new .mov file was just 277MB. This is 500 frames and no sound! I have no problems with encoding times - just wish they were made shorter by using more available CPU!
Like another poster said, the load didnt hit 70%. To improve performance, have you changed your system setting to 'Highest' in the Energy Saver part of system preferences? On my machine it makes a great deal of difference - especially in playback of 1080p trailers from the web! Its enough to make the Quicktime playback constantly full FPS even when doing something else on the machine

  • Acrobat 9 License: No Service Bureau

I just noticed section 4.6 of the Acrobat 9 License Agreement, which is:
"4.6 No Service Bureau. You will not use or offer the Software on a service bureau basis."
I'd be interested to hear any opinions on what this might mean. The term "service bureau basis" is not defined in the agreement or used elsewhere in the agreement. I've found a number of different definitions, so I'm unsure what to make of this.
    Thanks,
    George

I am an IP lawyer and drafting license agreements is one of my specialties.  The term "service bureau" (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/service+bureau; and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_bureau) was an somewhat archaic term dating back to the early days of computing (i.e., 1960's) when having the huge mainframes and software programs were so expensive that only big universities and companies could afford them.  IBM and other mainframe manufacturers offered a time-sharing arrangement to allow users access to these computers, which became the first offical service bureaus. See this quote from WikiPedia:
"Centralized hosting of business applications dates back to the 1960s. Starting in that decade, IBM and other mainframe providers conducted a service bureau business, often referred to as time-sharing or utility computing. Such services included offering computing power and database storage to banks and other large organizations from their worldwide data centers."
The term's use (or its concept anyway) has been revitilized, but the latest nomenclature is SaaS or Software as a Service.  Obviously, if the software author is the provider of the Saas, it does not care about prohibiting the service bureau because it controls the software's use.  However, if a licensee has a broad enough license to offer the use of the software to third parties (ala a service bureau), the licensee can undercut the software author's ability to receive license fees from the ultimate end users.  Hence, most license agreements expressly prohibit licensees from operating a service bureau using the licensed software.

  • E Recruitment Usage (License costs)

We are planning to   set up E recruitment services ?     But the management would like to have an idea of the license costs associated with this .   So I would like to know the following in the case of production environment:
Is there a cost associated for activating and using  this functionality ? I understand the E recruitment can be activated through SWF5 swiches.
Are there any other license fees to be borne ,  like say based on the  number of users  or employees...?
In the Development environment ,  I would like to know the following:
Is the company liable to pay license fees even in the case of testing and checking the functionality in TEst environment?
    Regards,
    Srivatsan

    Hi Srs,
1/ There can be two approaches for installing SAP E-Recruitment:
A: SAP E-Recruiting and SAP ERP run on same instance
B: SAP E-Recruiting and SAP ERP run on different systems- preferred approach. However, includes additional cost of maintaining a server
In the Approach B- the master data is integrated using standard ALE.The info you came across must be referring to this approach.
2/ I haven't come across a scenario where licensing is done based on number of candidates/applicants. Please refer to SAP Buyer License Guide for further details..
