Licensing system

Hello, I have the Presenter 7 installed on my netbook (Windows 7 Starter, Microsoft Office 2007, 32 Bits) and when I click on any tab appear this message:
Adobe Presenter failed to open due to lack of a license or an error in the licensing system. Close and restart PowerPoint and insert the serial number for the license. If the problem persists, reinstall this product and try again.
I have license of product, but...
How I do?

It appears you have IE9 on your system, in presence of which the licensing agreement is not displayed. Please see this blog post which details the steps required to get around the problem:

Catastrophic Failure Licensing System

Hi. My OS is Windows Vista. A couple of years ago I purchased CS3 Design Premium. I've only had to reinstall it about 3 times; the disk in in perfect condition. But for some reason, when I go to reinstall all of the products, only two from the disk are successfully installed. The first thing I tried, after receiving the notice that my license was no longer working, was completely uninstalling everything, then doing the recommended "clean" uninstall, downloading a link from this site. Followed instructions about deleting all adobe products, etc. Then tried to reinstall and only two products installed, nothing usable(Photoshop, etc). I repeated this multiple times, variating procedures, but nothing fixed the issues. Then I did a system restore and am now trying to solve this problem without uninstalling(because reinstalling fails), and I get this message that the licensing system has failed catastrophically. I'm not sure if it will help, but I copied the amt file and am posting the report below. Licensing system error

A customer of ours has a problem configuring the license for Indesign Server CS4 for Mac. The software will install as expected, but when the Indesign Server is run for the first time in the console with -serialnumber (and the key) it returns a 'licensing system error'. Every subsequent attempt at running it (with or without the key) has resulted in this error. As there seems to be no mention of this type of error anywhere I was wondering where I should look to solve this.
Some information on the server: it runs Mac OSX 10.6.1 with 24 GB of RAM and 2x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors. The version of Indesign is Indesign Server CS4 for Mac.
The exact error we get is: ERROR [server] Adobe InDesign has encountered a licensing system error (1) and will now quit. This is then followed by the usual commandline help-screen information.
Any suggestions on the cause or solution are much appreciated.

I was able to solve the problem myself. Appearantly entering the key without root-acccess requires you to very rigidly uninstall all of Indesign Server before a new attempt at entering the key can be undertaken. Without the uninstall any new key that is entered (even when performed with root access) will result in the error message that I posted earlier. Hope this can be of help to someone at a later date.

After fixing "catastrophic licensing system failure, I can't update CS3

Hi,
I had a stable installation of CS3 on a Matrox Axio system on XP 32 that worked flawlessly for years. One day, the AMT licensing subsystem failed requiring me to reinstall CS3 as a new user. Appearently, Adobe feels that restoring the system to a partial functionality is sufficient because Tech Support would only deal with the registration issue and not help with correcting the updating issue.
I currently have the version of CS3 as it came off of the CDs. I need to update PremierePro to 3.2.0 so that I can edit Sony XD Cam files. I have tried updating from within Premiere, as well as downloading an update to run after a clean boot. From within Premiere, checking for updates reports that there are none. The external update starts, but then fails.
I gather that there is a switch or path that can be reset to allow the update to run properly. Given that it took days to bring the system back from total non-function, I am unwilling to uninstall and reinstall and hope for the best. I want to update with the system as it is now.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Adobe non-Cloud Based Applications Will Not Stay Licensed

Hi All - been banging my head against the wall on this problem for days. 5 hours with Adobe Chat support has made the problem much worse. I have InDesign CS6, Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements 12, as well as Acrobat X Standard on my PC. They are all bought from Adobe on-line, and have worked fine for months. Suddenly, every few times I launch any of the aforementioned applications the Application Manager pops up and says that the software is in trial mode, and I can either continue in trial mode or enter a serial number. Entering the number allows the app to run 3-5 times before it again reverts to trial mode and forces me to re-enter (again) the serial number.
Endless hours with tech support has gone nowhere. They all focus on the SLCache folder and making it universally accessible, which it is already, and in any case that was never touched before this started, A few other file deletions they did only made things worse. The problem was initially only with InDesign, and now it is on all the apps.
One last piece of data - all of these applications are upgrades of previous versions that I had. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the apps, and even have gone so far as re-installing the older app and then installing the upgrade app. Same behavior.
Anyone have any idea what I can do? This is killing my ability to work. Thanks.

I did review the case notes and I would concur with the suggestion of removing all installed Adobe Creative applications. All of the referenced applications utilize the same licensing system. Only with a complete removal can the SLCache and SLStore folders be safely removed. I would also recommend the use of the CC Cleaner Tool after removal of all Adobe Creative applications and Adobe Acrobat X Standard. If you need a new copy of the retail installation files they are available at Other downloads. I reviewed the registered software titles under your account and they are all for retail licenses.
It wasn't completely clear from the case notes or your post 1949live. What occurred on the computer prior to this issue occurring? Was the security software updated or a new security software title installed? Was a system restore/migration performed?

How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

We're deploying new Dell pc's.
Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines. Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path. We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.

Adobe Presenter failed to open because either it is not licensed or there is an error.. Help!

I have been using registered version of Adobe Presenter ( I have a serial number) for some time. Now I receive the following error message:
"Adobe Presenter failed to open because either it is not licensed or there is an error in the licensing system. Please close and re-launch PowerPoint and enter
serial number to license it. If this problem persists, reinstall this product and try again."
The registration page pops up but just briefly--too fast to click the accept/decline buttons. I have tried deleting the Office and Adobe preference files under User as well as uninstalling/reinstalling but the error message persists making presenter unusable. I also tried to install just a a trial version but also receive the same error message.

The hardware for recording audio is simple mini-phone plug to mini-phone jack in the back of the computer. The driver is HD compatible (Microphone High Definition Audio Device)
After recording, I am able to replay it, but Powerpoint crashes soonafter, and not predictably.
So far I have added no markers or specified any actions.
Specifically, I have taken enumerable actions-- some of these per suggestions made in this forum (to the letter). Perhaps the most frequent action is to drill into Powerpoint options, and re-enable the Adobe Presenter add-in.
I have been able to apply neither the 7.05 patch nor the 7.06 successfully. Both failed (the error message said it wouldn't apply to this version of Presenter. Again, it's Presenter_WWE.exe).
I can see that you have ramped this up to known bug status. I appreciate that and am sure you'll come up with a rock solid solution.
As I've said earlier, one of Adobe's strengths, for me, is that they understand the needs and idiosyncracies of faculty. Faculty cannot handle geek solutions (like changing registries). After frustration, they will abandon and move on.

DS license with Solaris: 5.1 vs. 5.2?

My understanding was that Solaris 9 comes with a license to use Sun ONE DS 5.1 with up to 200,000 entities (having userPassword) primarily for Naming Services, but that this license didn't extend to DS 5.2.
I'm seeing a lot of traffic about using 5.2 and less about 5.1, plus references to getting 5.2 off of the Solaris CD's. I haven't got Solaris 9 04/04 yet. But my understanding (URL's below) was that 12/03 and 04/04 still came with 5.1 for Solaris and a separate copy of 5.2 as a part of the Java Enterprise System, which has a separate licensing system.

Has this changed? Does the DS license included in Solaris now allow use of DS 5.2? Or are a lot of people buying the full JES or a separate copy of DS 5.2 when they get 5.1 for free?

Directory Server is now delivered as a component of Java Enterprise System, that's true.
You can also download 5.2 from http://wwws.sun.com/software/download/products/3ee79e69.html it seems.
Concerning the licensing, if you've had a maintenance contract starting from the first entry, then you can upgrade to 5.2, for which Sun is continuing to release patches until that version is retired. As far as I know anyway.

Background job failing with license check error

In our ERP 6.0 system ,all the background jobs are failing with license check error.
Have checked the license in SLICENSE and the license is fine.
There is no warning while users are loggign in ,but when any background job is runing its failing with error

In SLICENSe the Hardware key field is not BLUE or BLACK and its showing the exact hardware key which i can see at OS level with saplicense -get command.

Note is good refrence, i reiinstalled the Digitally signed license with saplikey command and it was successful.
But still the license test is failing at OS Level..below is the command prompt output.

The hardware key was changed and we requested a new license with new hardware key,system was runing fine for couple of weeks with all background jiobs for SPAM./SAINT Ok .We performed EHP4 on this system.
But now this issue is here,so i guess we should troubleshoot.

Oracle server license difference between Standard & Enterprise Edition

I have basic folowing question for Oracle server "Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3)" version.
I ahve to purchase license , which one should I purchase , standard or Enterprise edition.
1) Is there different license required for Standard Edition & Enterprise Edition of above given Oracle version?
2) Or same license will work on Standard & Enterprise edition ?
If I have to use Oracle 10g Release 2 *(10.2.0.4)"* , I have to purchase new license or "Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3)" license wil work for (10.2.0.4) ?
I need above infromation on urgent basis....

In general, you purchase either a Named User or a CPU license for a product. At the time of purchase, you decide whether it is a perpetual license or a term license which has an expiry date. You get a contract (which you should read) in which the limits are described - the limits may include which (or how many) machines you can install the product on.

License upgrade program for demo NSP version

My NSP 2004 preview has expired and I requested a new license from the website. I got the email with a new license. But when I tried to update the license, I got the following error. What is wrong? Urgent, please help.

You can use SLICENSE in ABAP, however for me it started to hang.

Hi,
During system refresh, are all types of data - master data, transaction data as well as <b>customising data</b> get refreshed from prouduction environment?
Could you please suggest what is best way to get back project specific new customising data on a refreshed environment? Is there some sap recommended best practice on this.

     Refresh from PR1 to QA1
1.     Before the copy

MOS-01012 during Oracle Pre-Load phase system copy

The problem is in phase 'Oracle Pre-Load Actions', we have error:
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: '/sapmnt/Q02/exe/saplicense -R3Setup Q02 "OMLRUURS" TRACE=2' returned with '254' which is not a defined as a success code.
Homogenous system copy, AIX, ORA 9.2.0.8
I've checked a few things:

Did you install the Oracle 9.2.0.8 client? Or did you link the binaries from the ORACLE_HOME? Or are you using the Oracle client from the installation DVD?

Go to administration->Licencse->License Administration and then the user you are logging on must have SAP add-ons ticked.Also on the components tab ensure all the licences dates are correct, for all of them
