Licensing with Smart Forms

Are Smart Forms included as part of the standard SAP licensing agreement if my client has purchased SAP ERP? Does this apply even when I create my own custom Smart Form? We are investigating the decision criteria of when to use Smart Forms vs. Adobe Interactive Forms. I would appreciate any references out there that provide insight as to when to use one versus the other. Thanks.

Smartforms come with your standard R/3 only.
as for choosing between the two, Adobe forms are next version of smartforms they can give better look feel and as addition they can also provide you facilities for user inputs which is not there with smartforms.

Replacing Adobe forms with Smart Forms for printing FPM based forms

Hello All,
This pertains to HCM Process and Forms with Floor Plan Manager (FPM) based forms.
SAP has provided Adobe Forms as the standard print option for FPM based forms, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We want to use the FPM based forms without using Adobe Document Services (ADS). I am checking the feasibility of replacing the PDF forms with Smart Forms, either through configuration or customization.
System Landscape: ECC 6.0 EhP6
Any inputs or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Irrespective of the process or scenario, we would like to use Smart Forms instead of Adobe Forms. As seen in the screenshot, SAP has provided the default option of generating a PDF form. This requires installing and using Adobe Document Services. We would like to remove this dependency on Adobe Document Services.
Instead, we would like to use Smart Forms for printing purposes.
This requirement is not tied to any specific process or scenario, but to any business process implemented using HCM Process and Forms framework.

Production issue with Smart Form

Hi ,
Issue is:
Data getting poplutated in Dev system but not getting in Production system.
we are using standard FM CRM_OUTPUT_SINGLE_READ
which contains FM SSF_FIELD_LIST to which our smartform name is passed.
FM SSF_FIELD_LIST returns all the global definition fields of the smart form.
It has a statement
import fields to fieldlist
         from database stxfcontr(sf) id l_fullname.
Now in Dev system we get all the required values but in Production system it doesnt show any value.
Also in table stxfcontr i can see two values for my Form
Entries from Development System :
SF    ZCLSDXT_YI01_PRINT                                   0 1815
SF    ZCLSDXT_YI01_PRINT                      X            0 1830
Entries from Production system:
SF    ZCLSDXT_YI01_PRINT                      X            0 1584
I think problem is with IMPORT statement which is inside the FM SSF_FIELD_LIST ...
Is it has to do with ABAP memory or something like that? or something i need to do in FORM ..but since in dev system same FORM is getting value why i am not getting in Prodc.'
Please help...
If anyone can help me why it is not populating the fields?

yes its been transported properly..
even when i execute this FM SSF_FIELD_LIST by passing my FORM name it doesnt displays the Global defined fileds in production but in Dev same FM displays all the fields.
Any idea how this table STXFCONTR gets entry in it..

Is it possible to CREATE an XML data with Smart Forms??

i have an Smart Form Formular, which contains all information about a customer.
My question is, if i want to send this Formular to another System, can I send this as a XML File or something else???
I have no idea, how i can send my smart forms formular to another System.

I guess you want to send "spools" in XML format, not the definition of smart forms. Using Continuos Printing stationary with smart forms is that possible ?

Hi All,
there is an instance where we have to use continuo's stationary for printing Payment Advices for the vendors with bankers cheque attached to the payment advise is that possible in smartforms also i have know that is possible in scripts but the requirement is in smartforms and can we do that in Smartforms.
If any one have seen the same instance earlier, take your time to guide me the process.

With smart forms i have dropped the idea as it is not that flexible as script..
if am not wrong~
I have resolved it and have done the needful for printing the cheques and Payment Advices... in scripts with any kind of printer.. using Scripts.
Any one dealing with FI ABAP having any kind of issues with the Payments advices and cheques can always ping me for any doubts...
payment advices ,
cheque printing,
vendor aging,
customer aging,
brs upload program,
Service tax reports,
TDS reports,
vendor master upload,
customer master upload,
gl balance upload,
NCR Report,
and some co Reports..
these are some of the things where i have masterd for now..
any one i need of these can always get in touch...

Problem with Smart Form ('RLE_DELNOTE')--Please Help

I am facing a problem in the smart form.
So far I am printing certificates (QM module) for the finished goods. i.e. first level batches. Now I should incorporate down level batches info also. i.e. semi finished goods info (second, third... level batches). I am not aware of how to find out the semi finished goods info of a finished good. Each finished good may have one or two levels of semi finished goods....The print program i am using is 'RLE_DELNOTE'.
Can any body suggest me what i have to do?
I have tried with FM 'CHVW_BATCH_WHERE_USED_LIST'. But is of no use.....please tell me...

To check to see if you have an OpenGL problem:
In Photoshop choose Edit - Preferences - Performance.
Is [ ] Use OpenGL Drawing checked?
If so, uncheck it.
Close and restart Photoshop.
Does the problem persist?
If so, you probably can correct it with a video driver update.
Don't forget to go back and re-enable Use OpenGL Drawing.
To update your video driver:
Right-click on your desktop and choose Screen Resolution.
In the dialog that comes up, choose Advanced settings.
Click the Adapter tab, if it isn't already current.
What Adapter Type is listed? Note the brand and model.

Is there any smart form avalible for PO form ME32n ans ME22n transaction.. If so can you please provide the details of driver program and standard form name.

Problem with smart forms.......

Hi friends, I m facing a strange problem while using smart form. I am using values from standard smartform for invoice n just modifying the layout. The problem is tht,the value i m getting is like '14.223,56' bt the actual value that i want should be '14,223.56'. That is the '.' and ',' are interchanged. Please tell me some way by which i can make it right.

Have you checked your user defaults in transaction SU01
under the defaults tab there is a section for decimal notation.

APP - Custom program created with smart forms

Hi Experts,
In the automatic payment program, the ABAPer has created a custom program for payment methods for check. The program is assigned in the payment method for country in the payment program. However went the APP is run we are unable to generate a printout for the check payment. Also when the program is run in SE38 we are able to generate the output. The forms have not been assigned in the payment method country as he is not using SAP script and is using a samrt forms. Any pointers as to where we have missed out would be really useful.

Goto table likp and pass the delivery note to LIFEX field and get the delivery number if the output type is abc then print this delivery number.
else
with above logic u have delivery number go to VBFA table pass the delivery number as Subsequent sales and distribution document and Document category of preceding SD document as O (Order ) then you will get the sales order.. then goto VBSS table and pass the sales order number that you just got and get required field from VBSS.

Have you checked the Schlumberger web site?
What do you mean by "parsing from applet to php"? Parsing really isn't a data transfer method except maybe in a very tenuous sense.
And do you really mean an applet (a small program run on the client and embedded in a web page) or are you using it as shorthand for any java program?
If an applet, I suppose you could:
1) use javascript to connect the applet to the web page, which would just happen to be created using PHP. So it would be all client-side operation.
2) use HttpURLConnection (or, God help you, direct socket connections) to connect to a web server and interact with PHP to give/get data. In this case it would be client/server behavior, but the applet would have minimal interaction with the PHP page it's embedded in.
3) Make it really fun (i.e.: complicated) by using javascript to connect to the page, and then use AJAX to connect to the server. I have no idea whether that's even possible using PHP.
Maybe there are other options I haven't thought of.

How to print selected page no. with smart forms?

Say hello to everybody,
    I just want to print page from 4-6 for example, how can I make it?
    I have a mothod that we can use T-code sp02 to print page 4-6, and it works.
    Is there any other way to make it? Such as setting some parameters for the function of smartforms? Any help, many thanks!

Printing of pages is controlled only after the generation of spool
though we use the variables &SFSY-PAGE& for page number
to display some data based on page condition, but for printing i think we can't put a condition based on this field.
The way you are doing is the way to do/control page wise printing while printing the spool pages

i can do it as alogo in form but where as in background it was not getting and could u please help in this regard,

Hi,
Go to SE78 picture editor and upload a picture. Then go to window in smartform and select background picture tab and give the name of your logo or picture in object field which you defined in SE78.
Your image should be of BMAP type

Smart form ; Misalignment.

I have a problem with smart form alignment. A Variable is assigned to a line in the page on the left side and a static text on the right side of the same line. Whenever the value of the variable changes(bigger value) the static text in the right side comes down to the next line .How should I overcome the Problem?

I think you should know the variable size exactly.
Create a new window and place that window exactly where you want to print that page number.
For Example suppose variable size is 10char,
page width is 25 & height is 30,
then in Page window output conitions provide upper margin as 25
                                                                 left margin     as 15
                                                                 height           as 02
                                                                 widht             as 10

I am new to smartforms. I have a report which is to be integrated with smart form. I want each PO should start from a new page. I have tried putting an alternative and command in main window but it doesnot solve my problem. Please help me out as i need the solution very urgently...

Hi Ajay,
If your question is regarding break point, then create a program line node before the alternative condition and code "break-point". Next time when you execute the program it will stop at this point.
Please let me know what are you displaying in the form. I understand that you want to have a page break for each PO. Are using Table node?
