Life without Itunes is quiet...... pleeeeez help!!!
Ok, here's what happened. I had itunes7, hated it. Got a message to upgrade to 7.0.2 (yay, maybe they fixed it). Dowloaded it, and now itunes won't open... at all! It sends a message saying "itunes cannot open because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration." I did not change ANY of my settings before or after the 'upgrade.' So I did a system restore to this past Monday, thinking maybe something got changed by accident.. same result. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled itunes like seven times and still....nothin' please help, I'm at a total loss.
thanks*
OK alot of HP models and SOME compaq PCs have issues with iTUnes after doing a system restore. The affected models they offer a patch it fix it, so you need to goto HP.com and look for the patch (If it applies to your model) to your PC. While there install all updates that apply, especially SOund/audio updates.
Now for extra measure goto microsofts windows update and update windows.
Scan the PC for adware with ewido http://www.ewido.com
Disable your antivirus and security programs, then go here and download/install "Quicktime 7.1.3" And NOT the one with iTUnes http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html

I'm new to itunes and need some help. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to download an album which has explicit songs without actually downloading the songs that are explicit?
See if there's a non-explicit version and download that? Just download the individual songs you want, and not the others?
Honestly, your phrasing doesn't make sense. You're asking how to download an album without downloading its tracks? -

I have imported a Zip files, mp3 music to my Desktop. How do I move it into iTunes. I have tried d/drop and also Import to Library without success. Can anyone help, please?
Many thanks to Limnos and King Penguin.
I have discovered! I needed software to Unzip and was directed to Stuffit from the App Store. Suddenly it is simple.
Download Zip File to Desktop.
rt> Zip >Open with..... >Stuffit Progress Bar: 'Expanding' follows. Then a blue folder (manilla) returns to Desktop.
Open iTunes >File >Import to Library From drop down select the now expanded contents of Zip file, then >OPEN
iTunes takes over and imports - Job's Done!!

If you Restore using last computer you synced to the password will be removed and you can restore the last backup on your computer, which includes your camera roll.
If you enabled Photo Stream in iCloud your photos are in Photo Stream.
If you had installed one of the many apps that can upload photos to a photo sharing site and had used it you will have your photos.
If you have done none of these things you are out of luck. The phone comes with many tools to preserve content, but you have to use them. -

A friend and I shared an itunes account, as we both had ipod touches. I no longer have access to that account. I have created an account of my own but I need help tranferring the content that is on my ipod touch to my new itunes. I am scared to update my ipod or syncing it because it might delete my content. I recently had to wipe my computer (PC), because of virus, etc destruction, so I'm reloading programs, etc. and now my newly reinstalled ITunes account is only reading I guess the initial library that I had when first using it, so many years ago...not reading purchases or updated playlists, etc...which ARE ON MY IPOD, (classic, 30G), and very importatn for me for work because I teach dance and need my music and playlists, etc. How can I sync my IPOD to my ITUNEs library without deleting or currupting all the music on my IPOD???! How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?
I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. If my account has been compromised or if I have been incorrectly charged for something, I would like to get the issue handled immediately. I do not want to install iTunes on my PC (nor should I have to for Pete's sake), but I cannot see anything recent at all in my app or music history on my iPad (not that I would ever purchase anything for $12.99 anyway...I just don't). Thanks in advance for any tips!

What is the procedure for a hard boot of my iPod touch 4th generation
without iTunes, and without computer, and without iPod data screen?
6 months after purchase I updated my iPod touch as recommend by iTunes.
It has not worked since that day. It frozen (disabled) with a "connect to
iTunes" icon displayed...that is the only thing it does. itunes does not
recognize the iPod. My Windows7 computer recognizes an Apple device.
Other computers recognize the devise but if iTunes resided on that
computer it did not recognize the iPod
I suffered a setback with deep depression and am just now getting out of it enough to do something. The depression prohibited me from taking action.
I have done every procedure recommended from Apple help and external
sources. I did this thoroughly with help for other owners and IT experts,
Apple employees etc etc. I and associates have perform reboots utilizing a
number procedure using only button on the iPod. These were unsuccessful
also have performed.
Please do not ask me to do the usual.
Online I saw a process using the buttons on the iPod to completely
reformat
the iPod. It was NOT the hold buttons for 10 sec let go of one wait 8 sec
etc. I can not find the process now...a friend showed it to me in passing
I have lost contact with him. This is the procedure, I believe, that with
enable me to update and use the iPod.You need an internet connection and likely a computer with iTunes but an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the FindMy iPhone App may work by:
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
Otherwise
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
Yo may have to go to an Apple store or a friend's house with an internet connection and iTunes. -

How to restore Ipod database without iTunes?
Hi,
My iPod mini is visible to any aplication except iTunes. I have tried all it sugested on the manuals to fix it and nothing worked.
Others applications like RealPlayer and Anapod can see that the iPod is connect but can´t show its content. RealPlayer says that the database file doesn´t exist or is corrupted.
The only way I can see my files is accessing the iPod-Control directory using windows.
If I disconect it from the Pc I can´t see the musics that are on it.
I have made a copy of the songs that were on it and now I want to know how to restore it without use iTunes, because nothing makes iTunes see it.
Is there any update link that still work on apple website, so I don´t need to use iTunes?
I need to restore my iPod without iTunes because unistall, check register, restarts,... did not work.
The only way I can see the iPod is runing the diadnosis under the help menu. Nothing have worked to make it be showed as device.
