Lifeblog issue

Hi, I am new user to this Nokia Discussion.
I have searched and went through the topics with "lifeblog" issue inside the application manager.
But I still have a few doubts here.
Scenario:
I installed the lifeblog from Nokia CD into my Nokia N80's phone memory. Then I tried to run the application from my phone (inside My Own). Then it run an installation of lifeblog in the phone itself. I guessed the first installation from the CD to phone was the transfer of installer(.sis) file? Then I went to check on the Application Manager under Tools.
I found 3 "lifeblog" appeared in the application manager. Then I went on checking their details. They are 3 different files with different file sizes, 453kB, 14kB, and 1kB respectively.
Questions:
01. Does this mean I have only 1 installation of lifeblog or..1kB stands for the shortcut; 14kB stands for the installer; and 453kB is the app that being installed??
02. Any one of them could be removed? If one of them is the installer, I guess it could be removed?
Please help. Thanks

Hi
The version of LifeBlog that came on the CD is out of date as v2.5 is out.
I would recommend you do the following :
1) Download the most recent version of LifeBlog (both the PC and mobile versions) from here :
http://www.nokia.com/lifeblog
Ensuring you have DirectX9 and PC Suite if required.
2) Uninstall your EXISTING LifeBlog on PC
3) Reboot your PC
4) Uninstall all 3 versions of LifeBlog on your mobile
5) Power cycle your phone (switch off and then on)
6) Install the mobile version of LifeBlog on your phone - the size should be 863k
7) Install the PC version of LifeBlog
That should sort your issue out.
Hope it helps.

Edward

  • Lifeblog Issues on my N95

    Hey all!!
I recently updated my N95 to the newest firware version. Instead of doing a restore afterwards I just decided to reset my phone using *#7370# and reinstall my apps.
Today when I tried to open Lifeblog I received this message:
    'Lifeblog Database cannot be found'
After that the app just closes. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a sis file anywhere to reinstall the Lifeblog application?
    Thanks

Ok guys I finally got it working!!!
One of my readers left a comment suggesting that I delete the Lifeblog folder from my c:\ drive using Y-Browser and once I restarted the Lifeblog app it worked flawlessly!!
Wish I had of known that before I accidently deleted all the images and videos from my sd card.

  • N73 - Lifeblog issues on PC

    Hi
Ive just started to play around with the Lifeblog software bundled with the phone (N73).
Installed PC Suite and Lifeblog2.1 onto my PC (Fujitsu Siemens laptop, spec within requirements for Nokia software); PC Suite works fine (Outlook sync, photo up/download etc), but errors keep coming up on Lifeblog.
When you doule click the Lifeblog icon, it starts up and then kind of hangs for bout 15 seconds. Once it has finished that, it reports the following:
    "An Error Has Occurred"
    I like that error message!
When you "OK" that, it pust up the following message:
    "Timeline Rendering Failed"
Again with an "OK" option. If you "OK" it, the same message appears again... and again... and again. In fact, it wont stop coming up, the only way to terminate the application is to close it in Task Manager
Any ideas? I really like the idea of the Lifeblog app, and want to start using it properly!

Hmm ... an interesting one ...
You could try what I am about to suggest but it involves going into your registry on your laptop which is somewhat akin to doing open heart surgery on your laptop - get it wrong and you could lose all your data (although your laptop will be physically OK). Whenever a program uninstalls, it very rarely deletes everything of itself from the computer, hence I'm going to describe going into the registry to delete the remnants.
Also make a printout of this message first so you don't have to keep coming back to the internet
Before I begin one thing to do at your end is to do a Backup of your phone before proceeding by using the Backup program within PC Suite - and check that the backup went OK ! (You will get error messages if it doesn't)
I'm also assuming that you have FULL administrator privileges on your laptop and it's not a company laptop of any sort which has security policies etc. on it.
If you don't feel confident with computers or can not afford to lose anything on your laptop (I'm just looking at the worst case scenario here although everything should be fine), then don't do any of what I am about to suggest and carry out a full laptop backup before continuing respectively.
Also make sure you have the copy of LifeBlog (both mobile and PC software) and DirectX and PC Suite to hand that you downloaded previously.
You can leave the LifeBlog application on your phone, but one thing to make sure it's not a problem at the phone end is to load LifeBlog on your mobile and make sure you can see a chronologically ordered list of messages, pictures etc. on your phone ...
Right - the next stage is to uninstall LifeBlog totally from your PC, and then followed by PC Suite (don't worry it shouldn't delete your Backup that you created earlier) - then reboot your laptop. I'm presuming that you don't have the Nokia Software Updater installed, but if you do uninstall this too.
Once your laptop has rebooted, download the PC Suite cleaner from here :
    http://nds2.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/Nokia_PC_Suite_Cleaner_3_3.exe
    and run it.
    Then reboot your laptop again.
Once it has rebooted, load up the Registry Editor by going to the Start Menu, Run and then typing "regedit" without the quotes and press OK.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU DO IN HERE !
The application will be divided into two panes - in the left pane navigate to :
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia
Right click on Nokia and select delete.
    Reboot your PC again.
Once rebooted go ahead and install the DirectX, LifeBlog and PC Suite application you previously downloaded above and once complete reboot your computer one more time. Since I haven't had to install all three applications at the same time, I don't know whether the installation process prompts you to install each separately, but if prompted you should install them in the order given above.
During the installation process of LifeBlog it'll probably ask permission to reinstall LifeBlog on your mobile - say yes to this.
Then check whether PC Suite works, and finally try LifeBlog again.
If it still doesn't work then one more thing to try is to run the DirectX diagnostic utility called dxdiag (Start->Run->dxdiag).
This tool is written by Microsoft and checks whether DirectX is correctly installed on your laptop. Once loaded goto the Display tab and press the "Test DirectDraw" and "Test Direct3D" buttons and follow the instructions given.
If it doesn't work after all this then I'm stumped unless I got your laptop in front of me !
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

    Edward

  • Lifeblog issues with N95

Computer recognises the phone (N95), but won't allow Lifeblog to transfer anything (or in fact sync at all) . Used to be fine till the firmware was updated.
    Any suggestions ?

cant recall now...usually your warranty is either a card or part of the back of the manual...but to prove a warranty you need a purchase receipt with date of purchase clearly shown...usually you would return a copy of the receipt with the phone for your warranty claim....
i dont think and imei number will supply a fixed date of manufacture..and even if it did i doubt it would be enough to prove you have a valid warranty claim...
if it was a private sale can you get the original purchase details from the person you bought it from? that way you might at least be able to paperchase a supplier receipt and get a firm date of supply from Nokia or the original suppliers....
the problem with private sales is you are always going to suffer with warranty pit falls....
Nokia Customer services might be able to track through with the serial number from the side of the box or from the phone....again whether that will enough to validate a warranty claim im really not sure....
you might have to contact Nokia and explain the situation and just see what they are willing to do...
    *addition*
happened to have my old 9300 manual in my desk here at work..the warranty is listed near the back of the manual...
the only thing i can find that might harm a warranty as explained in the manual read something like this:
Limited warranty is not enforcable if the product has been opened, modified, accesory date code, imei tampered with etc etc by anyone other than a NOkia service engineer...any warranty in such a case will be at Nokia discretion...
again i think its going to come down to "proof or purchase" date
hope this helpsMessage Edited by kirisute on 06-Jun-200703:19 PM

  • N95 Internet/Lifeblog issues

My phone won't connect to the internet or vodafone live or any sort of wap anymore and it's frustrating me. When i try to connect, the screen just "pauses" for a half a second and then does nothing.
In addition, the Lifeblog too won't work anymore and it produces the error message "Cannot access Lifeblog database!"
(I don't remember dropping the phone or anything)
Is there a way to reboot the phone so i can get access once again to these features?
    Many thanks

    Hi Vico
The problem you are experiencing could be caused by a numbers of factors.
I'd first suggest that you send the over the air settings to your phone. You can use this link to do this http://europe.nokia.com/A4144889.
If this doesn't solve it your service provisions may need checking or there may be a network fault in your area.
If you'd like this looking into further please use the following link http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_BOS_... and use the email contact form.

  • Moving to a new PC - how do I move my Lifeblog and...

    Any advice?
I am moving all my software to a new PC but want to keep my current Nokia Lifeblog etc and port it across to my new PC.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi drjarmin,
Regarding your Nokia Lifeblog issue :
    1. Open  > Nokia Lifeblog > Tools > Backup. Remember where you store this.
    2. Install Nokia Lifeblog on your new pc and open goto Lifeblog - Tools - Restore the file which you got on your old pc and check.
    Hopefully it should work
    Regarding Imagestore
    1. Goto the folder where it stores those pictures of yours and copy them to your new pc. This is what as of now i can suggest you
Please let me know if it helped you

  • Lifeblog won't copy from phone?

I have an n95 with latest version of pc suite updated as of today, latest firmware on phone (again as of today). When I use lifeblog on pc suite and tell it to copy from phone I get the error message "You have an incompatible version of lifeblog on your phone." Hmm am I missing something here?

Yep I agree. The camera is really pretty good whereas the iPhone camera is (well, I could get offensive but ...). The 95 is a good 'un and I've taken some quality shots. Shame that the lousy operator MMS inter-network gateways make it such a random experience sending those pics to friends tho. I reckon 50% get through.
Returning to the topic of rubbish Nokia software I have just discovered a new "feature" of PCSuite that exemplifies the problem. There are 2 versions of PC Suite out there. One is the Nseries version of PC Suite which sort-of solves the Lifeblog issue by converting everything into Nokia Photo (although you can't see the photos you've taken in the lifeblog timeline like the old version). However if you try using One Touch Access in the Nseries PCS on the N95 8gb it doesn't recognise the modem. WHEREAS if you download "regular" PC Suite version 7 it is exactly the opposite. One Touch Access works as intended and without a glitch, but v7 doesn't synchronise with Lifeblog.
What I would *really* like is one version of the software that works with both applications. This however is obviously not cool enough for the developers to worry about ...

  • Nokia Life Blog Nokia Photos and Nseries PC Suite...

    Hi
    I'm a power user and own N95.
I try to install almost all available applications on PC related to my mobile.
So I installed PC Suite 7 and using the same successfully.
But now I installed Nokia Photos (latest name of Nokia Life Blog, as they say). The same installed correctly, but when I run it, it gives the error on the splash screen itself (something like "Nokia Photos has encountered a problem and needs to close").
I've tried uninstalling, then rebooting, and then reinstalling/repairing etc.
    2. When I try to install NSeries PC Suite (after exiting-- not uninstalling-- normal PC Suite V7), I get some error in the end of installation: "NNPCSUI has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    Any clue?
Wish#1: MP3 Tag Editor capable of editing ratings.
Wish#2: Android type Video player, highly efficient player capable of playing all formats.
Wish#3: Without Google Maps (and products), no gadget is worth keeping.

    Hi zopfan,
Could you please confirm your PC details??? What all you have uninstalled already from your PC? You have informed that you have uninstalled Nokia NSeries PC Suite? So you can decide which applications you are going to use? If you want to send SMS and contact editor please do stick with Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 or you can install Nokia NSeries PC suite on your PC or you can also install Nokia OVI Suite too. As far as i know, you can have both the PC suites on your PC without any issues. To resolve your issue, you can uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, Run some reliable PC Suite cleaner, which will clean unwanted registried from your PC. Then you install any of the three PC Suite
    Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 or
Nokia NSeries PC Suite 2.0.262.0 or
Nokia OVI Suite 1.0 depending on your need.
Then try to install Nokia Photos on your PC reboot the system and then try :0 You can follow in the same discussion forum for your nokia photos and lifeblog issues, as some of the issues were discussed already in this forum, or google and check for the posts related to Nokia photos and nokia lifeblog

  • PC Suite Issues after Firmware Upgrade of N73

    Hi,
A new Firmware finally became available for my N73. The version number of this firmware is 4.0735.3.0.2.
After upgrading my firmware, every time I connect my phone via bluetooth or USB i get the "The connected mobile phone does not have PC Suite support installed" message. When I try the Help -> Reinstall PC Suite Support option, nothing happens on the phone.
I am able to view my messages via Windows Explorer (but they do not appear in PC Suite below the phone image), do a sync with Microsoft Outlook, sync with Lifeblog, etc - no problems. The only thing that does not work is installing applications via the Nokia Application Installer. Whenever I try to install an application, I get an "Operation Failed" error on the PC, and nothing happens on the Phone. I have tried installing various apps (fring, snake, Conversation) but all result in the same error.
I have tried this in Windows Vista (with latest updates) and on a clean install of Windows XP SP2.
    Summary of my Configuration:
    Phone: N73 (RM-133)
    Product Code: 0542457
    Firmware: V 4.0735.3.0.2
    Operating System 1: Windows Vista
    PC Suite Version: 6.85.14.1
    Bluetooth Stack: IVT BlueSoleil 5.0.5.178
Operating System 2: Windows XP SP2
    PC Suite Version: 6.83.14.1
Bluetooth Stack: Standard Microsoft Bluetooth Stack
Has anybody experienced similar issues? Can anybody help me? Any help will be appreciated.

I have never had such issues with my N73 - same firmware on three different systems. I have upgraded the firmware 4 or 5 times. The fact that your phone refuses to install via Application Installer makes me think that there is some issue with the phone itself - corrupted temp folder or something. If the problem irritates you too much, backup the phone and do hard reset (hold *, Green key and 3 while powering on).

  • Lifeblog system error

hey there im new here and i have a nokia 3250 with nokia lifeblog v1.8 on it i am running on my computer windows xp 3.4GHZ p4 2gb ram gforce 6800 and over 800gb in storage i have plenty of free space on my computer and on my phone aswell
my issue is that everytime i go and try to sync lifeblog it says
Lifeblog encounters problems transferring items. Please check the connection and try again. If the problem persists, restart Lifeblog and/or the PC and try again. Possible reasons: An item that you are trying to transfer may be opened in an application on your phone or PC, the multimedia card (MMC) on your phone or your PC hard disk may be full. i have checked everything! rebooted comp and phone uninstalled from comp and phone disabled firewall and antivirus cheked that lifeblog on the phone was adding in new content updated to latest versions
once i noticed this error i tried to sync it from the phone to the computer instead from lifeblog on the comp and when i click the lifeblog sync profile on my phone it said "system error". now im lost i have no clue how to fix it

  • Using Lifeblog to copy images to my computer from ...

Help please and sorry if this has been posted before (new to this forum).
At the moment I can't transfer images from my N95 to my computer via Lifeblog. Each time I try I'm told there's a system error. There's no issue about space on either the phone or the computer so it's a mystery to me.
Has anyone out there had this problem and resolved it?

I have had this problem also. It was copying fine until I received a phone call during the copying process which disrupted it. Now every time I try to copy from the phone, I get system error message on the phone and no items were copied message on my PC. I am trying to copy all content to my lifeblog not just images.
I hope Nokia answer this soon. It's 7 months since this question was asked! Great response time!

  • N82: issue with sett. wizard

    Hi All,
I'm using a black N82 with the latest FW (V20.0.062) and whenever I try to open the Sett. wizard the phone is freezing (only the wallpaper is displayed). Only a restart (by removing the battery) recovers the phone. I tried also a reset to the factory settings but the problem remains...
Anyone knows a solution to this problem?

Thanks again for your prompt response.
I've never installed additional applications on my phone.
The following 'items' have gone 'into' the phone since purchase:
    1. Mp3 songs.
    2. Contacts via the sim directory.
    3. a Powerpoint presentation via data transfer mode (nearly a month ago, but my issues with the phone surfaced a week ago....so no problem with the ppt i guess)
    4. camera pics, MS outlook calender, to-do and Text messages routinely syncd between my phone and laptop.
    5. Bluetooth transfer out of my phone to another phone for a transfer of pics taken.
Again many weeks ago not followed by adverse effects...
Thanks, it'll take me a while to understand SYNCML. Ill read and try to understand soon.
But then wont PC suite take care of contacts backup n restore, etc?
If so, where can i find the contacts stored in my computer and in what format?
For instance, the photos and text msgs - synced - are stored in Lifeblog folder under my documents folder and can be easily accessed via the LifeBlo application both on the phone and the computer/laptop.
PS: I also managed to update the software today, with the help of Nokia Software updater app on my laptop.
    Keeping this all in mind:
I reckon, the m-card and perhaps phone memory are affected. Maybe the camera application as well.
If this is proved, i think, then i m-card format and hard reset is the way forward.
    Thanks again.

  • Problem posting items to lifeblog - N95

I have been able to post items with lifeblog to my (typepad) account for about 3 weeks. Then, from one moment on another, I am unable to post items. I didn't change any webblog properties (double checked it hundred times).
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards
    Rob Zoeteweij

thats unusual, if something like that is happening then you could assume two scenarios:
    1) the blog service has fallen over in some way, so the phone is waiting for a response from the site but isnt getting any so it sits there forever...
    or
    2) the application on the phone has broken in some way, the only way to see if that is the issue is to either reinstall the app if it is third party, or reset the phone if it is built in.
mind and take a backup of everything if you want to try restting the phone.
At least you know its not a connection issue, would be good if you could try updating your blog from another device to see if it is the site itself causing the issue.

  • N95 Lifeblog

    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes.
I have an N95 and have used Lifeblog in the past to download my SMS to my computer. It's been a while since the last time I used it and I think I may have updated my phone's firmware since then. Now that I try to use it it says that Lifeblog cannot work as the version on my phone is not compatible with that on the computer. I have looked but cannot find updates for either the phone or the computer software to rectify this issue?
    You assistance is much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Zack

I downloaded Nokia Photos yesterday but it appears that this did not get rid of the older version. I have now removed it and reinstalled and it has synchronised with the phone.
However, I now have two issues:
    1) I tried to import my previous Lifeblog using the import feature and navigating to the Lifeblog file which contained this data but it has imported my messages as text files with no dates or times etc so they are all lumped together under todays date. Is there another way to migrate the old Lifeblog information into Photos so that it is chronologicaly synchronous?
    2) It does not seem to be importing my notes; how do I get it to do this? I have synced with PC Suite also to try to get these; if this has stored them I have no idea where?
    Thanks.

  • Web server error from lifeblog

When trying to "Post to Web" (LiveJournal) from lifeblog, I get:
    - connecting
    - posting 1/1
    - Web server returned error
Is this a known firmware issue, a config issue, or a problem with the server? Any suggestions on how to identify *what* the error is, short of setting up a proxy server for logging? :-)
    steve

More info: I set up a proxy to find out what error I was getting. It turns out that LiveJournal is responding with:
    Unsupported MIME type: text/plain
But as far as I can see, the only text/plain in the request is:
    <content type="text/plain" mode="escaped">LJ text post here</content>
...which appears to match the LifeBlog spec. The only difference I can see between my post and the example one in the LifeBlog spec is that the spec prefixes most tags with "a:".
LiveJournal's support just responded with "We don't support Lifeblog", but I can see that it works for other people. Any clues?
