Lifecam HD 3000 problem

Hi Forum, I hope someone out there can help with this one. I have just installed a Microsoft Lifecam HD 3000 and when video calling, my guests can hear me but not see me yet I can see and hear them perfectly. The camera is supposedly configured for use with Skype and to enable video chat and video recording. Have I set things up properly or is their something further I need to do?

I have exactly the same problem as described above. Microphone works well, I can see the person I'm talking to but they cannot see me. It works once then not again even though I can see myself when I go into options. When I check options during the conversation there no recognition of the cam in the camera box.
Can anyone recommend another brand of webcam, as it seems to me the driver software is faulty and if Microsoft are interested in fixing it I'll go elsewhere ?
Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

  • WIN 8.1 and MICROSOFT LIFECAM HD-3000 compatibilty - Preview screen "blacked-out"

It seems that there are hundreds of Users with Webcam issues since WIN 8.1 has been downloaded. I have trawled sites and Forums for procedures to ensure that my LIFECAM HD-3000 will work otherwise it a waste of £14.99. No solution has worked. Drivers and
software have been re-loaded from official MS site, and/or Safe Starts undertaken, and/or uninstalling and then re-installing and nothing works.
I think that the problem is that the CAMERA APP built-in with WINS 8 or 8.1 is "always on" in the background and stops other programs/programmes using the webcam output. Is one definitive answer to get webcams working in WINS8.1. Even the MANYCAM
software fails to work with WIN8.1.
    Help. Thank you.

    Hi,
This could be driver issue. Please contact the manufacturer to ask for the latest driver for your Webcam in Windows 8.1, and reinstall it to check the results. If there is not, we need wait for the updates from manufacturer.
Meanwhile, to use webcam, we need to get it properly set.

  • Lifecam HD-3000 Drivers only

Does anyone know how, on a large scale, to only install the drivers and leave out the lifecam software?  We have roughly 300 of these to deploy and have already grabbed the drivers only from the install  but when you plug the camera in it still
tries to go install the software.  We do not want to turn off all windows update driver installations.

    Hi,
I just would like to know how you grabbed the driver from the installer.
The installer I can find is below, and I can't find the driver file like inf file after unziping it:
    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-in/p/lifecam-hd-3000#support
And it's just a web installer, it was installed with downloading at the same time.
I don't think the driver can be seperated from the software installer.
I agree with Pranda, let us know how you grabbed the driver out.
To manage the device and make it work fine, we have to install the software.

    Hi,
I would recommend you to perform the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:
    1. Temporarily disable all the third party security programs and boot in
Clean Boot to exclude 3rd party factor’s effect.
    2. Update your video card drivers and BIOS to the latest version.
    Hope it helps.

  • VPN 3000 problem

I have 2 CVPN 3000 at my institution. They have both software version 4.7.2.L-k9. Thay also have WebVPN running.
Lately something strange has been happening. One VPN loses connection (ping keepalives stop working) and no one can connect. When this happens I change the dns A record of the vpn service to the 2nd CVPN and, after a while, that 2nd CVPN stops responding. Can this be an attack? What can I search for in the logfile? The logfile cannot handle more than 15, 20 minutes.
    Thanks in advance.

I have captured some traffic directed to the SSL port. There alots of TCP retransmission packets (ack dup).
Disabling SSL service I have the CVPN running for a day now.. it seems the problems have stopped. Of course nw I don?t have WebVPN service.
Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced such a problem?

  • Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 crashes application on exit

Hello! Crash is reproducable on Windows 8 ( on Windows 7 can't reproduce ). I used slightly modified version of AvCAPWPF. Steps to reproduce:
Play any sound using WPF _before_ initializing HD-3000.
Capture some video with HD-3000 either with DirectShow or with Media Foundation.
Exit application and see this crash. It's not crashing always but quite often.
Please, can you give me some hints on this? I can give you the app if you want.  If you capture video _before_ playing a sound everything is ok. If you play a sound using DirectShow instead of MediaPlayer everything is ok.

  • KT3 ultra2 with amd barton 3000+ problems

Ok so I upgraded from a 1800+ to a barton 3000+, and im having problems running the chip. Iv set the fsb to 166, the ram to HCLK, tried running with just one stick, it runs for about 5min then restarts. Any ideas?
    System specs
    Msi kt3 Ultra 2 (newest bios 5.7)
Msi GF fx 5900 not overclocked

    Sound blaster Audigy
    Enermax 365 watt pws
    20gb maxtor hd (lol)

Well if you purchased an Athlon XP 3000+ which is a 400mhz chip and are trying to run it at 333mhz instead of 400mhz that might be the issue aside from the fact that the KT3 Ultra2 does not support that chip so it could also be a bios issue.
I retract a little of that.  There is an Athlon XP 3000+ 333mhz chip.  But are you sure this is what you obtained?  If not that is your problem.

  • 3000+ Problem

    Hi!
I have a strange problem. I bought a AMD ATHLON 3000+ 333 FSB and installed it to my motherboard that is a KT4M ms-6596. When I run att 133 buss it all works fine but that is on 1773 mhz and it doesn't identify it as a 3000+. When I changed to 166 buss it could identify my processor as a 3000+ and everything worked fine untill i reached the windows flag that loaded. Then a blue screen appeared and said that I should try to uninstall antivirus software and showed something about my harddrive but it works all fine when I use 133 buss. My bios, chipset and other drivers are uptodate because I use the MSI LIVE MONITOR. I really want to run my 3000+ at full speed not 1773. Does anyone know what the problem is?

OK, thanks for your help. I have written in other forums but they said that my ide's got too hot wich explained why I got an blue screen error from windows 0x24 and some said that windows couldn't handle so many changes that I needed to reinstall windows. I am unsure what to do but I think you're right. You mean I should buy a new PSU and RAM-modules that are 2700 or over? Thakns anyway!

  • Emsg/signal 11 and REP-3000 problems after tweaking a PDF/XML report

    Hello everyone,
Just wanted to check if anyone has encountered similar issues?
We have a custom rdf report installed by our Consultant/VAR, and is called / run from Oracle EBS using the Request Manager. This is an XML report that outputs a PDF file from a template. This report runs without problems.
We made a very slight tweak to the report's query, but now when we run the report, it reports an error, with the following message in the log file:
    EMSG:was terminated by signal 11
REP3000 internal error starting oracle toolkit
When we revert back to the earlier report, it runs without problems, but this new report reports this.
I am pretty sure the changes made to the report weren't the cause of this issue because the tweaks are very minor AND I remember our Consultant/VAR encountering this issue when they first developed the report. However, they kind of forgot how they solved the issue before.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks!
    Derrick

This is just to close off a post I submitted years ago...in case it might help someone else in the future ...
Everyone keeps saying to change the display configuration. And actually, they were correct!! We just had to change the s_display.
In our case, we just set the s_display to :
    :0.0instead of
hostname:0.0Then, we ran autoconfig for the Apps Tier.
For some reason or another, this worked.
This was on Oracle Linux 4, on EBS 11i.

  • Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 not supported

Since upgrading(?) to Win8, my webcam not longer works with skype. I have tried every possible option, including using the Microsoft support desk to see if there is a compatible driver for this camera. Apparently it is not supported by Microsoft (at this time ... and probably won't be). The same thing happened in "upgrading" to Win 7. I'm not willing to give up yet and buy another camera. Anyone experiencing the same problem?  Is there any other solution?

    You are very welcome.

    Hiya,
Does Mac Mini support the USB microphone on VX-3000? Maccam gets the video bits to work,

Ah, I forget to mention, there is a "USB camera" at sys pref/sound input, yet it doesn't seem to work...

  • MS-6570 AMD 3000+ problem....

these are the specs for motherboard
    Mainboard Manufacturer MSI
    Mainboard Model Name MS-6570
    Mainboard BIOS Ven dor Phoenix-Award
    Mainboard BIOS Version 3.90
    DDR 333 mhz  1 G
    256 DDR video card NVidia
    4 harddrives
    1 dvd+r cd r/w
    1 dvd-rom
i just bought a AMD 3000+ for it, and it shows that it is running at a AMD Athlon 3000+ 2.17 ghz... but this processor came with 333 mhz Front Side Bus, so i ran a utility to see if the Front Side Bus was working, and it isnt... do i have to upgrade to 400 mhz ddr memory... or do i need to move a jumper, when i bought it, i wanted the 33 mhz front side bus that is why i got it and the representive for PC CLUB here in vegas said it would work... but it isnt... does anyone have anything for me... in bios, or jumper.... please help

Are you confusing the speed of the processor (that is correctly running at 2.17Ghz) with the speed of the front side bus, also correct in your case running at 333Mhz, which is double the data rate (DDR) that the motherboard is set to run at of 166 Mhz.  There is no point in you getting 400 Mhz DDR memory because although you can run the memory at that speed your CPU can only run at 333MHz (or perhaps a bit higher but not 400Mhz).  Running your memory faster than your CPU (i.e. asynchroniously) has no advantages.
So don't worry, your PC is running how it should.

hugoar, like dr stu said, the AMD A64 3000+ runs by default at 1.8GHz. the 3000 after the name is only a marketing designation for the CPU which shows that the CPU will have the same performance as a Athlon Thunderbird overclocked at 3GHz.
