  • When I plug my connector cord between my iphone 4 and my laptop, it suddenly does not charge anymore like it always has before, although iTunes sees my phone. Any ideas?

When I plug the connector cord between my iPhone 4 and my laptop, it does not charge now (as it always has in the past), although iTunes definitely sees my phone (so the connection is good). This also happened when I tried to charge my iphone in my car with an adaptor which used to work before too. Any ideas on why my phone is suddenly not charging anymore??

I removed the AMDS as part of the instructions for completely removing itunes. Nothing changed unfortunately. I don't understand why it is happening!
I have already checked for lint, etc as you suggested, but don't have another USB cable on me at the moment. I'll be returning home tomorrow so will try then, but I would have thought the cable was fine as it still charges the phone through an AC adaptor fine. Thanks for the suggestions!

  • IPhone not charging/syncing! Please help! :S

    Hello everyone!
I have a big problem with my iPhone...
It is not charging anymore on both my dock and wall charger, and only on my UBL On Time iPod player. Therefore, I cannot sync my iPhone with my computer anymore :S...
This happened since this morning. I used my iPhone calculator app. and fell asleep while it was still on. I woke up later and my iPhone was boiling hot. Coincidence?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hey Allan Sampson,
    I have tried:
    - with dock (with 2 different docks)
    - with just the cable from the dock (with 2 different cables)
    - with iPod cables
    - wall chargers
    - with my iPod player connected to my computer (which is the only device that will charge my iPhone, but even connected to the computer, will not sync)
    - different USB ports
(And the keyboard doesn't provide enough power for the iPhone to be recognized.)
I even went to an Apple store and tested on a few other iPod/iPhone players.
The guys there told me that maybe it was a pin problem, but they're not sure. And even if it was the case, they say they don't know where it can be fixed... They gave me an estimation price for a pin fix procedure of the equivalent of 200~250 US$.
I don't understand why it will charge on ONE iPod player that I have and nothing else.
Does that means I have to get another phone or what? That súcks...

  • My iphone 4s is not charging anymore.

My iphone 4s is not charging anymore.  But the strange thing is if I turn off the phone, it is charging without any issues.
So the issue seems to be like it cannot charge when ios is loaded.
    I have tried to,
       1. Reset the phone ( No luck)
       2. Confirmed its not charging port/battery problem
Also, when connected to pc, it says usb device cannot be recognized
Please suggest what to do to fix it

    Try a different sync cable.
Clean the dock connector on the device.
Plug the device into a wall outlet, does it charge?

  • The battery of my two months old iPad is not charging anymore. Somebody knows what is going on?

The battery of my two months old iPad2 is not charging anymore. Somebody knows what is going on?

    Hi there Dan Laven,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery

About battery life and the battery
Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. Find more information about batteries for iPhone and iPod.
Find information on how long the battery is expected to last between charges.
Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced.

  • My iPad 2 is not charging anymore...

My iPad 2 is not charging anymore when connected to my iMac by original USB cable.  Connection exactly same as before, still syncs and shows up in iTunes etc but just no longer charges.
The cable is obviously fine otherwise I wouldn't be able to see it or sync in iTunes and there's nothing wrong with the USB port as I have tested it with other devices.  It's not going to a hub but directly into my iMac so that means either the iPad is stuffed or someone has changed something in the updated OS X 10.7 or iOS 7...  Have updated to latest versions of all software but still no luck.
iPad in iTunes also shows no battery/charge info in the Summary or in the Devices in the sidebar.
    Um, what the...?

After checking my adaptor, USB cable and blowing debris out of iPad connector port, I still got the same message about the unit not charging. After a couple hours of research (and no useful suggestions from the Apple reps) I came across this solution:   Go to settings on your iPad and turn the Airplane mode ON.  Then turn the iPad OFF by pressing & holding the power button. Leave unit off for about 20 seconds.  Turn the iPad back on and it should now show "charging."  Turn airplane mode OFF and proceed as normal.

Guys, i am actually trying using a solution provided by the article shared by dominic23,
It says "Another option is to get an ionizer to help the atmosphere in the workplace be more conductive and pull charges away from contact surfaces, including yourself."
So in my home, we have such device that could clean the air using ion, and i am using it in my room...
Result: BANG!!! The electric shock on my macbook has gone!! I don't really care about physics but somehow it works! You guys should give it a try.
    Thanks again dominic23

My iPad is not charging anymore. There is a lock sign beside the battery on the screen

How are you trying to charge it, via a computer's USB port or its wall charger ? A lot of computers don't provide enought power to their USB ports to charge an iPad at a sufficient rate.
If you are using the wall charger then have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it still doesn't charge then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?

  • Iphone not charging or connecting.

Hi - wondered if anyone can help me.
My iphone will not recognise any cable that is connected to it - either from the mac or the wall socket - it will not charge either. there is 20% battery warning when I turn it on as it's gone flat.
I have reset, restarted flicked the mute button etc.
Oddly when the phone is switched off if I connect it to the wall socket it turns itself on - but then nothing - no charging - nothing.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Billy

Look for a bent pin...use a magnifying glass...look closely...it doesn't take much to create the situation you're in. If its not that, then most likely your dock connector is bad...an Apple store can confirm. If under warranty, they will most likely replace your phone. If out of warranty, they have an out of warranty replacement program, cost is $199.

  • IPhone not charging, not recognized by computer

Last night I plugged my iPhone in via its USB cable and the AC adapter and nothing happened... I tried my iPod's cable and AC adapter and it started charging, but when I got up this morning, the battery was still about 25% and not charging. I don't know when it stopped working.
I tried the iPhone dock with the iPhone's cables and AC adapter, the dock with all the USBs on my computer, the USBs without the dock, and nothing. When I plug it in to the computer, a notification pops up that a USB device is found, and then one a few seconds later saying something has malfunctioned with the USB device and that windows does not recognize it. iTunes never opens.
I've restarted the phone and reset it. I have not updated to 2.0.
The phone plays through the inMotion speakers I have (connected via the dock and the "line out" cable), so I think the connector on the phone itself is ok since it's sending music through.... is the cable bad? I'm a little nervous since my battery is so low and I have no way of charging it. There isn't an Apple store anywhere around me so going there is out.
    Please help

Had the same problem with my 2G. I fell asleep and left it playing the ipod all night, the next morning my phone was completly dead. That day I charged it for 10 hours, the battery indacator only showed 10%. I thought the battery was a goner. So I turned it off for 2 to 3 hours and when I turned it back on the battery was fully charged. Dont know if this helps you are not but you can try it.
Now I have a question. How can I uninstall an APP?

  • Iphone 4 will not charge anymore from the car stereo

Ever since I have updated to iOS5 my IPhone 4 will not charge via the car stereo connection. It worked fine before this but now no charge. I am using a scosche adaptor that was recommended by the nice people in my local Apple store but the IPhone has stopped charging.
I use my IPhone a lot as a sat-nav and find that when I get to my destination there is little or no power left in the battery.
    Any ideas?

Check the bottom of the iPhone and make sure there is no lint or debris on the connector that the power/sync cord attaches to.  Also with a very low battery, you may have to let the iPhone charge several minutes before you get any indications. If none of the above solves the problem, try another cable.  You might also want to try a car charger if you've got one.
