Light leak in camera during flash iphone 4s?

All photos are cloudy when using flash -- there is a light leak.  Does anyone have a solution?

I got my iPhone 4s a couple months back from 3 and since getting it the camera hasnt worked great. With the flash on I get a white haze on my pics and they don't really seem 8mp quality to me. Will the apple store fix or replace my phone and has anyone else had this problem and if so had a resolution to it?
There are several possible causes for the problem you describe:
You haven't removed the shipping film from the back of the phone
The lens is dirty
You have a case on the phone that is scattering light from the flash or reflecting it back into the lens
You are too far from the subject (the range of the flash is only about 5 feet).
So remove your case, make sure there is no plastic film over any part of the back, clean the lens and take a bunch of pictures under varying light conditions with subjects at varying distances. If the pictures are still disappointing take the phone to an Apple store for evaluation. Make a genius appointment first (www.apple.com/retail). Don't take it to 3; they don't repair iPhones and don't know anything about them.

  • After instaling the ios 8.2 my camera and flash light stoped to work. I have a iphone 5c.

    iPhone 5c
    ios 8.2
camera and flash light stoped to work

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • I have light leaking from the right top corner of my iPhone 5.is it a problem or a major thing. Is there anyone, who hasn't got this problem?

I noticed light leaking from the top right corner of my new iPhone 5 from a small area. I noticed first, when I changed the brightness to higher and when I changed back the light was still there.

Personally I would take it to the Apple Store cause the iPhone is still under warranty. You should try your carrier first if your not near an Apple Store and then go from there based on what help or lack of help they provide.
    Best of luck.

  • Does the iPhone 5 'light leak' affect function?

I just recently received my white iPhone 5, and I have a small light leak near the power button along the bezel. Does this affect the function of the phone, such as the screen brightness? And Would Verizon replace it?

There may be a possibility it could affect the function but not likely. I would call Apple and report it though as they may replace it, Verizon would send you straight to Apple. Being that this is still such a new product they like to capture new products with hardware problems.

  • Iphone 5s had white light leaks on lcd after unlocked with touch id

My iphone 5s had white light leaks on lcd after unlocked with touch id. It's a bit confusing because if I unlock with passcode, there's no white light leaks. Does anyone have the same issue? What should I do?

Title: Burst of White Light on iPhone 5S and iPhone 6
    Description:
On unlocking the device with Touch ID a burst of white light is produced from the Top Left/Right corners of the screen.
It happens when more than two folders are created i.e three/four folders each having some applications and the phone is locked while on the same screen.
If no folder or maximum two folders are created then no such burst is produced when unlocking with Touch ID.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Configure Touch ID
    2. Use Black/Dark wallpaper on Home & Lock Screen.
    3. Create minimum four folders either on the home screen or the second having some applications in each.
    4. Being on Home Screen lock the phone.
    5. Unlock with Touch ID and a Burst of White Light will appear on Top Left/Right Corner.
    6. Now move/drag two of the folders to the other second page.
    7. Go back to Home Screen and lock the phone.
    8. Unlock with Touch ID and there is no Burst of White Light.
                        OR
Repeat step 1 and 2 as listed above.
    1. Go to the second screen (after home screen) and create three or four folders with applications in it.
    2. Lock the iPhone while on the same screen.
    3. Unlock with Touch ID and there is a Burst of White Light.
    4. Now drag or remove the folders with only two left.
    5. Lock the iPhone while on the same screen.
    6. Unlock with Touch ID and there is no Burst of White Light.
NOTE: If iPhone is LOCKED and UNLOCKED when on the screen with no folders NO WHITE BURST is there.
    Problem Since:
Burst of White Light when apps added to a folder and unlocked with Touch ID. This is noticed since the update iOS 7.0.6 [11B651]
    Devices:
The burst of light on iPhone 5s is easily recognized but on iPhone 6 its for a fraction of a second. Not checked on iPhone 6+.

  • Is there a life proof case that accommodates the camera and flash on the iphone 5s?

is there a life proof case that accommodates the camera and flash on the iphone 5s?

I think stedman1 met to say no 16g has a back camera and flash. The iPod 5 32g and 64g have both front and back cameras, and the back camera does have a flash.

  • Light leak iphone 5

    Dear all iPhone 5 users!
I am very happy I bought the iPhone 5 on launch day. To be precise I got the white 32 GB version. Just after 2 days I started to notice that there was light leaking between the sleep button and the display. I have read some articles on the net and it seems only white iPhone 5’s are having this problem. You might think it’s a cosmetic flaw… but I am worried. It means there is a ‘gap’ between the unibody and the display. A gap means it’s also susceptible for moisture and damp (i.e. keeping device in pants).
I went to the apple store (Amsterdam) and the didn’t have any new iPhone 5’s in stock so I got a iPhone 5 replacement unit that looked like refurbished unit. The service was excellent but when I got home the leak was also present in this swapped device. It seems like it’s a wide spread issue.
    Anybody have this problem?
    Thanks,
    D

    Hi all,
Just to update you guys. I have been back to Apple. They recognised the problem and replaced my iPhone 5 with a brand new one. I had a white 32gb and now a black 32. The light leak is gone and I am very happy with the black iPhone. The service apple gives is topnoch!!!

  • Iphone screen is basically black, but sound still works aswell as the light beside the camera

Hi. I have an iphone 4s and the screen is barely readable. it is nearly completely black. The light beside the camera seems to come on every time that I turn on the phone but yet the screen doesn't seem to come on. i have restored the iphone and done everything it says in other forums but yet nothing is working. it is on the set up screen ready to set up as a new iphone but it is so hard to see everything that i cannot set it up. im planning on bringing it back to vodafone tomorrow to see if they can do anything. Any suggestions on what to do?

Sounds like it may be a hardware issue.
Did the issue happen over time or did something cause it (dropped it, water, etc.)

  • Can you take pictures while having your flash light on, instead of using your camera's flash?

Hello I have a 5s and want to know if you can take pictures while having your flash light on, instead of using your camera's flash? Having a constant light seems like a better way to take pictures. If this is possible how? Do I need certain apps? or just adjust settings? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Pat

The Flashlight uses the camera flash as its source of light.  You are in fact using the flahslight when you take a picture with flash because they use the same light source.
The Flash is timed to light the picture when the camera snaps the photo.

  • IPhone 3G Light Leak

Hi, i got my iphone 3G yesterday, and in very low light situations, light leaks out from between the chrome bezel and the screen. The leak is very thin but it is about an inch and a half long; even tho it is thin, it is still very noticable. I checked the web for more information about it and found that it has happened to MANY iPhone 3G owners.
What I want to know, is if Apple is doing anything to fix this problem.
I plan on exchanging my iPhone, but i dont want the new one to also be leaking light.
Does anyone have any idea what Apple is doing to eliminate this problem, or when it would be 'safe' to exchange my phone? (so the new one wouldn't have a light leak)
    -Thanks
(sorry for such a long post)

I went to Apple store tonight (8/21) with light leakage purchased on 7/19 and got a new one real quick. The gentleman that took care of me was nice and he didn't even check to see if what I claimed was true. Real smooth experience.

  • Light leak ear speaker Verizon iPhone

I have a small light leak under my ear speaker it's a line of light from top to bottem. And it's like on the right side of the speaker. Should I be concerned? Or does anyone else have this problem?

I seriously doubt that the factory applied screen protector or dust is the cause. My Apple unlocked 4s ear speaker just failed recently and there is widespread reports of this issue all over the web. Apple seems suspiciously mum on the matter. Mine goes back!
Tammy, based on my online research thus far, it seems that this is an issue Apple has yet to correct. My personal opinion is that it isn't worth investing in until they fix the problem. There are great options with Android and Windows devices from Nokia.

  • Anybody know the name of the little rubber plug designed to keep light leak from entering eyepiece

anybody know the name of the little rubber plug designed to keep light leak from entering eyepiece. It is usually found attached to the strap supplied with EOS cameras. The larger eyepiece can be removed and the smaller rubber plug is inserted into the view hole. During long exposures, it prevents light from leaking in via the eyepiece area

Uh, clever name. lol. I've attempted to order one various times fromB&H and always end up with the standard eyepiece. Talked with customer service but they didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I wish canon would make an eyepiece with an open closed switch. I would buy that. Thanks for your help Scotty

  • Orange Pictures in certain indoor light w/or w/o flash

I am on my 3rd iPhone 4 with the exact same problem. Pictures come out Pumpkin Orange in certain types of indoor light. They are over saturated in color and noisy. There is also flare and trailing burn in from lights.
Compared to a friends iPhone there are no issues or discoloration at all and the pictures look great. His iPhone 4 was purchased at the same store the same night as I purchased mine.
My wife has the same issues. This scenario goes for Video as well as Still Shots.
I have compared my friends iPhone 4 to my original and two replacement phones, all with the same result. Same exact side by side pictures, and mine are all Orange. I need the Camera to work correctly. I will keep bringing it back until I get a good one, as they are out there.
I have friends around the country who are experiencing the same issue. I am a 20 Year FanBoy so I am forgiving, but I wish I did not sell my 3GS. Hopefully they can fix it with Software and a WhiteBalance correction or some other fix. SOON!!!

    Hello,
The issue here is that Chrome includes a built in version of Flash Player that it maintains and it updates.  You can verify you're using the latest version of Chrome by going to it's "About Google Chrome" menu.
It does appear that you've successfully uninstalled the other versions (used for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.)
What kind of crashes are you getting?
    Chris

  • Screen light leak!!!!!!

    hi there,
i got an iphone 4, and it had replaced once aready about 2 months ago, there is a spot light leak on the bottom of the screen, when i just get it, it not really matter, but now the little spot becomes 'bigger', it is really obvious to see when the turn on and off my phone, that makes me SHOCKED by the "growing" light spot!!!!!
i m wondering if i can get another replaced phone with perfect condition that would not disappoint me again!!!
    cheers

It was bought from the online Apple Store.
I'm just hoping that they'll do something about it; I know that there's some people that damage things themselves and try and return them, and it affects it for people that do have genuine claims like myself.
One thing that pains me is that I got it as a graduation present from my parents, the second is that this is the THIRD iPod that I've had problems with over 2007 and 2008 (half way through last year my 30GB iPod's hard drive failed, it was only seven months old, and earlier this year my 1st generation iPod touch had to be replaced because it kept freezing). I guess I've just had bad luck, because I've always taken absolute care of my iPods...they've always been in cases, never been dropped, never been in a position where they could be damaged.
