Lighting Styles Missing cs2

All Of my Lighting Effects Styles have disapeared, I am using photoshop cs2. I have checked the folder Plug-Ins Filters and the folder Lighting Styles is in there with all 17 of the different styles. yet when I load photoshop and go to filter render lighting effects in the window that pops up the styles tab [I think that's what you call it] has a drop down list which is fully blank nothing there at all. I tried changing the advanced properties of the lighting styles folder from index this folder for faster searching and tried it without the checkmark. this did not help and i have since discovered that was for windows XP were as I am using windows Vista. Please can anyone give me some advise on how to correct this problem.

Lighting Effects Missing in PS CS6

I am using the trial version of Photoshop CS6 Extended on Windows. The lighting effects filter appears to be missing. When I go to the filter-->render menu, it is not there. I have gone into the edit-->preferences-->perfomance menu and selected Use Graphics Processor, however the lighting effects filter is still not present. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get the filter? Thank you.

If you are using Windows XP, then it is expected for that menu item to be missing. We do provide the ability to download an optional LIghting Effects plug-in that will work for both 32-bit anf 64-bit Ps CS6. However, it is the legacy interface and not the new interface which relies on OpenGL support.

After downloading the Win_Optional_Plugins, copy the Lighting Styles folder and LightingEffects.8BF plug-in to the \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins folder (copy from the 32-bit category to the 32-bit application directory, 64-bit to 64-bit where applicable).
Then on launch, you should see a menu item Filter> Render> Lighting Effects Classic...

Traffic lights are missing on Safari

Traffic lights are missing on Safari. Please help.

To regain your 'traffic lights' go to top of screen and minimise, then drag the screen to the required size. Every time I maximised the lights disappeared, but when I minimised it they showed up. I eventually caught on and then dragged the minimised screen to the required size, Easy when you know how!!

Nested styles in CS2. Absence of property appliedNestedStyle

In task I'm working on there is a subtask of extracting overrides from the text.
The way I implement it is pretty straightforward: I iterate through all textStyleRanges. With each textStyleRange object I compare its style properties with style properties of paragraphStyle and characterStyle that are applied to it.
Things are getting harder when nested styles come into play.
When they are applied, they should be taken into account along with appliedParagraphStyle and appliedCharacterStyle.
This issue also affects Drop Caps. When the character style is applied to Drop Cap this character style becomes nested.
In CS3 scripting objects (textStyleRange, text, etc) has property appliedNestedStyle. So to extract overrides I can use it.
But in InDesign CS2 there is no such property...
So the question is how can I get applied nested style in CS2? Or maybe some workaround to accomplish the same goal?

Scripting indexes has changed a lot. It finally works, and it works well. The property 'subtopic' has gone, instead you iterate the property 'topic' (up to three times). The following lines illustrate:

You can address (sub)topics by asking for topics embedded under topics:

is the first subtopic of the first subtopic of the first subtopic of the first topic.
A new property is allTopics: myIndex.allTopics returns an array of all (sub)topics. This is a flat, one-dimensional, array, i.e. it returns the whole index but without structure.

Photoshop CS6 light widget missing

Has anyone experienced the light widget missing in the Lighting Effects filter in CS6?

First ensure 'View > Extras' is enabled. If it is and the LE widgets are not visible then you need to know that their visibility is controlled by 'View > Show > 3D Lights'.
Unless you're working in a 3D layer (which you won't be when using the LE filter, of course), the 3D Lights item is inaccessible in the 'View > Show' submenu, but the widgets visibility can always be controlled by 'View > Show > All' and 'View > Show > None'.
So either make a temporary 3D layer to access 'View > Show > 3D Lights' or use 'View > Show > All' then disable visibility of the extras which you don't want to see.
Hopefully, that's all that's needed to solve the problem.

How can I get back my lighting styles?

I took away all the lighting styles (17 of them) from my Photoshop Elements by mistake, not understanding that they would disappear
completely. I cannot seem to find them anywhere on my coomputer any more. How can I get them back?

As to R Kelly's comments, yes, I am talking about the styles in Filter-Render-Lighting Effects (although my version is in Swedish). The problem is, I likely do not have another version at home or anywhere else, plus I am afraid I have thrown the disk away when cleaning (why did I ever do that? sigh!) - the program came with my desktop in 2007 and I never bothered much about it until I started playing with it lately - and then this mistake happened. I believed the "take away" button in lighting effects just meant that the style then on top would go away from the picture I was working on, but I was wrong...

No Notification LED Light for Missed Calls Since Update

I used to get a LED light notification when a call was missed. Now since the new "update" I no longer get the notification. Anyone else notice this? How do I get the LED notification light back?

This happened to mine right after updating, and was easily fixed by clearing the Cache of my texting and email apps. None of my LED indicators were working, but it's a simple fix. Just go into Settings -- Applications -- Manage Applications -- Select your texting and email apps, and select Clear Cache. That will also fix your call/voicemail notifications. No need to go buy an app.

Problem Mapping Tags to Styles in CS2

Hello, I am running CS2 (V4.0.5) on XP SP2. I have XML-tagged text that I am mapping to styles/map by name. While the paragraph styles apply correctly, character style sheets that shouldn't apply are being applied as well. I have replicated this multiple times.

Getting style missing errors while rendering ADF trees in JSF page

I am getting the following message while rendering a JSF page with af:tree. Based on other posts on this forum, I verified servlet-mapping in web.xml and it is already set to /faces/*.
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

All Layer styles missing from CS5 Photoshop.

This is the fourth time I have gone through this. i open my photoshop to see all my layer styles are gone. Since I have 1000s and most custom made i don't remember all the creations. I have searched all over and the only place that had anything close was a discussion in Elements, but that solution did not work for me. I know I can't be the only person that has gone through this?? Is there anyone that knows how to retrieve all the styles i had just hours ago?

this has happened before when I left my computer on and MS did an auto update that restarted my computer...
This points me to the additional potential for a video driver issue. Simple OS updates and even some hot-fixes, have been known to render the video driver obsolete. That is one reason that nVidia and ATI/AMD issue updates about once per month.
I have Windows set (on all computers) to ONLY notify me of the availability of an update. That way, I manually download and install it/them, and know to keep an eye on the video driver, should an issue arise. I have all nVidia cards, but do not religiously update drivers (there have been some from both nVidia and ATI/AMD, that have been problematic), as so long as my Adobe programs function perfectly, I will wait until something goes awry. I also have all programs set to NOT auto-update, as I have had two auto-updates really mess things up, and once very badly - one was a simple Logitec Set-Point mouse driver update, and it totally killed my computer, requiring a complete rebuild and low-level reformatting of my system HDD. The other was a Java update, that killed a large PSD file, that was Saving, when it started - that one only cost me a redo from an earlier, previous version of the PSD, and the only time that I have had my Preferences corrupted. I had forgotten to turn those auto-updates OFF - my bad.
Let us know more about your display sub-system with make/model and driver info. That would be my "prime suspect" right now.
As for the Elements material, I recall similar in Premiere Elements Styles going missing, but that was many versions ago, and doubt that anything in the solution to that problem would apply to Photoshop, but will go searching for that thread, just in case.

ATM Light and Missing Fonts in Designer

When I try to open pdf files created on my computer in Designer, it suggests that all of the fonts are not in my system and wants to replace them. Of course they are there, they were just applied to text in the design program before I made the pdf file. I have ATM Light installed to manage fonts on my Windows 2000 computer. I'm wondering if others with ATM Light see the same behaviour. I've read that fonts need to be in the system fonts or designer subdirectory in order for them to be used by Designer. With ATM Light, I am able to store fonts anywhere on my computer and have Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc use them with no trouble. Is this not the case for Designer?

For some reason i tried booting in safe mode before i wanted to reinstall things. And in safe mode everything was ok, all the fonts were working, menus were ok etc.
So i went back into normal mode and it looks quite ok, but context menus are still missing fonts and even more odd... when i'm in fontbook for example the finderbar has the default font, but in safari and finder itself the font changes to something old again.
I'm kind of scared to reinstall and archive things because i have lots off settings for wireless printers and internet locations on my mac school set for me. And i think i cannot really move those files back and let them work after the install...

CS5 - Styles missing in CSS class menu

I have noticed that a number of my CSS styles are not visible in the drop down menu in the HTML property inspector. There is however an empty space where they should be in the alphabetical list and although I can select the style I want by guessing which empty line to select, its name never shows in the menu.
All the styles are however listed and visible in the drop down menu of the CSS property inspector.
The missing classes include for example:
.boldmid {text-align: center; font-weight: bold;}
.lowerita {text-transform: lowercase; font-style: italic;}
.tour1 {font-weight: bold; margin-left: 10px; width: 75px; float: left; text-align: left;}
The menu has been like this for a while now, but did once list all the classes properly. What might have happened?

Have you installed the latest updates? Updater 11.0.3 fixed a few bugs not addressed in earlier versions.

Operator CSS-Styles missing

Hello. I have the following problem: In my Dreamweaver there is missing the operating area "CSS-Styles". When I try to open it by clicking "Window" it is missing there as well. So it is not possible for me to create a new CSS-Style.

CS6 Lighting Effects-Missing Control Handles / Crashing

I have read several other threads on this issue where the control overlays are missing when you go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects. The "answer" from Adobe always seems to be, "updated your video card drivers."
I have a ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 560v for my Dell laptop running Windows 7 64bit. I have checked both through Dell and the ATI page and I have the latest drivers but Lighting Effects don't work properly. So now what?
I tried messing with the Preferences for Performance based on other posts. No luck. When I go to View>Extras>Show All I do then see the controls, however, the program freezes then crashes every time.
So is there a fix for this or do I have to go back to CS4 to do all my lighting effects?

99% SOLVED! I think the problem here is that Photoshop users don't know the tech speak surrounding driver technology.
For instance when you started talking about AMD I was thinking, "I have an ATI driver, who is AMD?"
Also, quite frankly the AMD/ATI site is a very poor unser experience. I searched for my Dell Studio 1747 Laptop driver (ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 560v) several times and it found no drivers to update even though there is a whole page dedicated to that processor.
I never did find what you called a "driver cleaner" on the AMD site, however I stumbled (yes, stumbled after looking at tons of pages on AMD) on this AMD Driver Autodetect. I installed that and it recommended I replace my driver with AtI Mobility Radeon HD 4650. The process went smooth other than everything on my screen getting tiny for a bit. After the forced restart everything looked right.
I opened a Photoshop doc and tried Filter>Lighting Effects and still NO CONTROLS / HANDLES, however this time when I went to View>Extras>View All the handles showed like before BUT PHOTOSHOP NO LONGER CRASHES. I can now manipulate those controls/handles and use lighting effects.
I know this is not all of Adobe responsiblity, but I'm writing this post hoping anyone wlse who is frustrated will taked your advice, go to the AMD Driver Autodetect link and get it sorted out.
