Lighting to 30 pin charging but no audio

For more than a year my iphone 5 worked well in my car with the solid 30 pin to lighting adapter. Then one day out of the blue it quit..(maybe after an update?). My 30 pin devices still work, so I thought it was the adapter. So when I got my iphone 6 I bought another adapter, both have been purchased from apple. My 6 still does not work, nor does my wife's, or any of my friends 5's, 5s, or 6's. The phone will charge, but the audio comes out of the speakers, like the adapter isn't plugged in.

Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro! Thank you for providing all the information about what is going on with the charging issue.
Firstly, I found some information on page 11 of the MacBook Pro User Guide about what each color of the LED means on the Power Adapter:
When you first connect your power adapter to your MacBook Pro, an indicator light on the
MagSafe connector starts to glow. An amber light indicates the battery is charging. A green light indicates that the battery is fully charged.

It sounds like you are not getting the amber light indicating your computer is charging, and you are noticing that the battery level is depleting. I recommend resetting your System Management Controller when something like this is occurring:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

I need cable that can do lighting to 30 pin that supports audio

Does anyone know of lighting to 30 pin adapter that can do audio out does the apple one do that because that's what I'm trying to figure out plus I'm also want to know about any other 3rd part adapters that can do audio out to because I'm trying to convert it to my iHome that can only take old 30 pin adapter I have iPad 4th generation comparability issues that kind goes on to convert to older stuff I'm trying to explain here.

And, it is committable with Iphone4 & 4S but, I have Iphone5 I tried to buy (third party) adaptor of Lighting to 30 pin convector to make it work but, got message on Iphone5 " Accessory not authorized". Later, purchased same from Apple store and it transmitted only Audio but, not Video. So, have to return.

Does the dock manufacture say it is compatible with the 5G iPod with iOS 6.0.1?
Have you went to the manufacturer's support site? Contacted them?
Try resetting the dock. How you do that depends upon the dock

If you have not already, I would shut down (power off) your computer. Do this to Reset your shuffle

Start up computer. Run iTunes. Connect shuffle.
If you have added a new USB device recently (since the last time it worked properly), you may want to try disconnecting it to see if that makes any difference.

Good grief! I had not plugged the USB jack all the way into the headphone port on the iPod. Having taken that action, the iPod shuffle works great. My bad, as they say.

Have you tried resetting your iPhone, press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignoring the red slider, then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing this.

Can you use your Mac? If so, turn it on with the charger plugged in and see if your Mac detects that the charger is plugged in. You should see the connected icon in the battery icon on the menu bar.
If not, the charger is damaged. If your Mac is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller with your MacBook and it will be replaced for free.
If you see the connected icon but the battery is not charging, reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 Then, open System Profiler or System Information (in /Applications/Utilities), select Power in the sidebar and copy here "Charge Information" and "Health Information". This will probably be a battery problem

The battery's probably drained and the power brick on the fritz. Unfortunately, if she won't start there's little we can do for software-based diagnosis. You'll have to take it in to a Store or Service Provider for assessment.
