Lightning adaptor damages

Found tiny arc marks/damages on both side of my iphone 5 lightning adaptor's copper surface. I believe this caused my iphone 5 unable to charge ! Please help~
Will attach the photo of my lightning cable ASAP

Thanks for your reply. I think I created a new apple id on my new ipad.   Bear with me as I am a "silver surfer" as they say.
I did what you advised go to settings>store>apple id. Signed out and created my new apple id with the new password that was created on my new ipad
Now my apple id is my new sky email address and I can log in with these.
But still when I try to update apps it still states my apple id as my old email address
I dont mind if i lose everything as there is not that much to lose.   I just wanted to keep the old ipad for my grandchildren as they use a lot of the game apps but obviously not much good if I cannot download any new apps
Also to confuse matters and to find out if it solved anything I clicked settings apple id i forgot and typed in my email address they stated that an email would be sent but nothing arrives which makes me think they are sending to my old e mail address.
Also when I want to download an app on my new ipad it does not prompt me to put in a password.
From what you say should all of my apps on my old ipad have been automatically been transferred to my new ipad - but perhaps not if the email addresses were different on each one.
I have i haven't confused you - should i just reset - i think it would make it easier for me anyway.

Lightning adaptor

I Recently updated my iPad 2 with the new iOS 8.2 software, since then I have been unable to use my lightning adaptor.
i Didn't have any issues with previous software, but I am now receiving an error message stating "this accessory is not supported by this iPad"
i have tried a factory restore, with no joy.
My device is not jail broken.
Any suggestions?

That message is frequently caused by dirt in the connector on the bottom of the phone. Try cleaning it.

Can I still use the ipad charging dock with the lightning adaptor

I have just purchased the ipad with retina display + another lightning adaptor - can I still use my ipad dock?

Yeah, it doesn't look like much, but I'm leaving in the player dock and you can't see it when it's plugged in. Better than taking case on/off all the time. I didn't wanna cut my case because I don't think there'll be enough of it left to hold together very long. Good luck with yours! I wish ape would have just included a little extension stub with their adapter.

Hdmi Lightning Adaptor

I am about to purchase an 8pin HDMI lightning adaptor for my iPad air, however having read some reviews I'm not sure if it will meet my expectations of being able to stream my favourite shows from BBC iPlayer etc... Also I would like to know if this works on a jailbroken device and if so to what extent will there be restrictions to mirroring.
Im really not sure wether to purchase this product or AppleTV. IF you have any other cheaper alternatives please let me know.

It should work fine unless the site you are trying to display has blocked streaming it to your TV. I prefer using the Apple TV and avoiding the adapter and the cable.
Can't help you with your questions on a jailbroken device you need to go to a site for whichever one you are using and ask your questions.

Lightning to Lightning adaptor?

I recently purchased a USB to Lightning adaptor but the thickness of the iPad cover prevents me from being able to plug it in. I don't want to have to take the iPad out of it's cover every time I wish to use the adaptor so I was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of Lightning to Lightning adaptor I could use which may assist?

But I think you will have the same issue. The problem is your cover, not the Lightning cable.

Iphone 5c with 30 pin lightning adaptor wont work on my sony clock dock?

Have a Sony ICf c7ip clock radio dock which works no problem with ipod touch. Plays music through speaker on clock. Bought 30 pin lightning lead to use with iphone 5c, but nothing? Why won't this work. Apple shop say it should, but it doesn't.

For anyone else, I contacted Life Fitness, they told me that the issue is the new lightning plug to 30 pin adapter. On Life Fitness equipment with the old 30 pin plugs the adapter only transmits analog not digital signal. So music will play but none of the other options that require digital connections work.

It's a disgrace for Apple to charge for this adaptor. I spend £100's each year on their products and am now feeling ripped off while they hold back on features to make money on future releases but this is the last straw, making me pay for something THEY decided to change!!!!

Yes, an adaptor should have been included with every device.
But lets play devils advocate.
What if I was a brand new customer. Never owned an ipod or iphone with that old connector before and lets pretend they will never encounter a time when they need to borrow or use a charger or accessory from a friend. Why would that person want the adapter?
How about 5 years from now and the old connections are starting to become a memory like Firewire versions are now. If apple were including the adapter in the products when would it be ok for them to stop including it?
I'm not really ticked off about not including the adapter. My complaint is that they should be selling these things for far cheaper. It should be one of those rare items where Apple doesn't make any profit on selling them. Make it a $5 item. Cheap enough you can just buy one for every charger and dock device you have laying about and leave it there.
Lets hope it's a simple enough product that third parties can license the connector and produce cheaper versions and versions which might work better.
I'm thinking if I were a third party accessory maker I would be looking to make a converter that fits nicely into the old docking cradle space and covers it nicely with a new cradle to help the new phone stand up nicely.

You need to have your headphones inserted - they're the aerial.
I've tried a variety of headphones and they all seem to give reception. Not sure how you're affected when using your dock ie whether you can still have earphones inserted. You may need to get a double male cable and insert one end in the ipod and one in your dock (if it has that facility).

I cannot upload photos onto my I pad from the SD lightning adaptor, it is not seen on the photo app

I have turned off the iPad as directed then plugged into the lightening SD card adaptor , when the iPad was turned on it activated the photo app but no new photos were on show from the plugged in adaptor, the SD card when plugged into my iMac all the photos can be viewed , I have the iPad fully charged so charge is not an issue, the iPad is the retina ten inch one.

How did the photos get onto the SD card ? If you copied them onto it yourself then the card needs to have a DCIM directory on the root of it, and the photos need to be underneath that with filenames that are exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

Lightning Adaptor Plastic Thickness Consistency

Is apple going to fix the thickness issue with lighting adaptor ends? i.e. The end on a video adaptor is thicker then the end of my usb cable. This makes plugging into phone cases a problem when the opening on the case fits the usb cable but not the video adaptor. The case by for #Lifeproof iphone 6+ claims this is the "manufactures accessory" opening.

The accessories made by apple are different sizes (plastic around the end of the metal plugin). How can a case be made to fit the apple adaptor if apple changes the sizes; then still calls it a "lighting adaptor" was the point I was try to make.

That happened to me too. Check your Y-cable. Make sure the 3.5mm cable is fully connected to the auxilliary jack on your 2012 MINI Cooper. You may also want to slightly twist the cable connections in the middle box part of the Y-cable if the first solution does not work for you. Good luck!

I used to be able to connect my iPad 3 to any TV using either the 30 pin to AV adaptor or HDMI adaptor. I could mirror, watch Netflix or Hulu, and Videos. Now I have an iPad Air and nothing works. I tried a 30 pin to lightning adaptor and the first thing I noticed was that Apples own adaptor does not work with their own Smart Cover, the end is too fat. So, I popped the cover off and connected the adaptor. I first tried it with my Apple AV adaptor, no output. The I tried the HDMI adaptor, no output. When traveling, I like to connect my iPad to the hotel TV, using either option. What a step backwards for Apple. Accessories not working together, accessories not working! Any body else having this problem?

I see that chart, and yes, it does say that. I guess I will try that $49 item. Still, it does not fit with Apples own Smart Cover on. Still a bad on Apples part.

Lightning docks and what cases works with them!

Being racking my brain for couple weeks now and trying to find info and get hope from people on various mac forums but to no avail, so thought I would ask on here
I currently have an old 30 pin connector dock with the lightning adaptor on it so I can play my iphone 5 on it, now as you probably know, when the iphone 5 is docked , if it had no case on it whatsoever it will not reach because it seems the connector is too small which IMO is a massive oversight
So to solve it I bought the speck flip case which if you haven't seen it flips up at the bottom so it docks easily.
Is there anything anyone recommend? I really fancy one of the new iPhone 5s cases to fit my iPhone 5 but as I have seen if I want to dock it I have to remove the case which is a real pain!
I'm also looking at a new lightning dock, is there one anyone recommend? Can you get one where the lightning adaptor on the dock itself is a bit longer so it docks with a case on? Or am I going to have to resign that no case, mostly notably the 5s case docks with the case on?

You should be able to 'see' the BlackBerry memory in the Meida Manager, and you can transfer small files to the Content Store on the BlackBerry using the Media Manager. Just remember that you are using the base memory on the BlackBerry for media files and you shouldn't get too crazy with files transferred to it.
Try installing v4.2 Service Pack 2 and using the Media Manager and seeing if the BlackBerry device memory option shows up at the bottom of the screen. When you open the memory you should see some file folders and you should store the files directly into the file folder appropriate to the media, and not use folders inside the original folder so the BB will 'see' the files when you use your Profile options to select ringtones or background photos.
