Lightning Cables TOO FRAGILE... Need Upgrading

I'ts been about 1.5 Years now since I've had my iPhone 5.
But, within the last 3-5 months the Lightning Cables are extremely crappy.
I carry my Charging Cable everywhere in my pocket. I would have it on the go anywhere. Even when on the job sites.
But. I've been going through these cables like a mad man... It's like someone that's a smoker and can't stop..
I've gone through almost 20 lightning cables within the last 3-5 months...
Why can't the lightning cables be more reinforced where the cable and connectors meet where you plug in your devices?
I sleep with my iPhone 5 on my bed and I hold it when I'm charging it.
Why is it i can't do that much and the cables keep breaking? But, when I were to use an different charger for a different electronic device. I can use the cables that way and they last for months on end?
My 2nd Gen iPod Touch cable was less fragile then the Lightning cables.
Why do these cables have to be so fragile?
I even took a course in college where I learnt how to coil cables properly for concert mic/lighting cables and when I open a lighting cable out of it's package. I know how to coil it back to what it was like when I first opened the package.
Why are the Lightning Cables so fragile??? Please Upgrade them..
My iPhone 5 battery is almost on its final charge and dies @ 25-40% battery life left. And i think these cables have a thing behind that trouble.
Please fix these fragile Lightning Cables. I'm getting fed up of needing to lose the use of my phone for a day because the stores are closed and I can't get a new cable only because the cables don't last at all.

what do you mean by this?
you use those:

  • Why is the lightning cable so fragile that in less than 3 months I have had to set 3 cables aside because they don't charge anymore?

In less than 3 months I have had to buy 2 more cables... None work anymore... Why is this cable so fragile that even though I don't twist or turn it, it ends up malfunctioning all of a sudden? The regular 30 pin cable has a much longer "life cycle". I bought an adapter and am charging my devices (iphone5 and mini Ipad) with it. Is there anynsuggestions to what i should do with these cables that are no longer working and are still almost brand new?

Had a similar problem.  Lightening cable is not up to the job, it gets twisted easily and breaks.  Had the old type on an IPhone 4 that has lasted over 2 years, but the lightening lasted less than three months.  Cardiff store did not want to know about this problem and tried to sell me a new one for £14.00, absolutely shocking aft sales care.
Contact Apple direct and you will get much better service

  • Is the iPhone 5 lightning cable also covered under AppleCare?

My iPhone lightning cable is starting to fall apart.
I never take it anywhere. It just stays plugged in at home and all I use it for is connecting to my iPhone 5 for charging, etc. So it's definitely never been abused.
It came with my iPhone 5 which I got October of 2012, so the iPhone 5 itself is still under the 2 year AppleCare warranty. Do they cover the lightning cable too? I can't believe it has started to wear out like this just from daily plugging in.

Of course. AppleCare covers your iPhone and the accessories that came with it, including the Lightning cable. Just make an appointment at an Apple Store or reseller and take the iPhone and the cable to get it replaced for free.
Here in Japan it was even easier than that. I just had to call AppleCare and they will deliver one by express service, and pick up the old one. No need to make an appointment, or to actually go anywhere.

  • What cable do I need for a full migration from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a new current one-wireless migration way too slow.?

What cable do I need for a full migration from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a new current one-wireless migration way too slow.?

All you need is an Ethernet cable.
Just plug it into both machines. Don't bother with a crossover cable, just a plain old Ethernet cable will do. The Ethernet ports on the Macs are smart and will adjust appropriately.

  • Why don't third party lightning cables work? Apples are too short

Why since updating my iPhone 5 to IOS7 do none of my lightning cables work. I dismissed the message that came up and had it on charge over night but nothing. This is ridiculous, how can Apple do this to their customers, if they actually made longer charging cables and at a reasonable price people wouldn't have to buy thrid party party. I don't think my Apple cable is even working either.

If the third-party cable is MFi (Made for iPhone) approved, it should work.
    Apple now sells longer cables.

Belkin has an even longer one.
    <http://store.apple.com/us/product/HB560ZM/A/belkin-21-amp-lightning-to-usb-charg esync-cable>
It's being sold by Apple, so is probably MFI approved.  Its Lightning connector may not fit some caews, though.

  • My original Apple charger and lightning cable doesn't charge my iphone 5 and ipad 3rd generation.

Both my devices are low in batt and i need to to use it tomorrow for work. Who would compensate my losses???
Pardon me i'm not trying to create a scene here. When i first gotten my iphone 5 (new and sealed) and before upgrading to ios 7, everything works fine. After i upgraded to ios 7, the phone main camera lost its focus after a few days usage. Fortunately the phone is under warranty and was replaced at an authorised lab BUT unfortunately i lost a fair deal of data (sms, whatsapp chat history) along the way, although most of the things have been backed up. Since there is no turning back, there is nothing i could do but to face it. And that's not all...
After a good usage of just 3 weeks, with the exact same charger and cable (both original from that came with the phone), it suddenly failed to charge. I have tried plugging it in and out and still to no avail. By the way i have not mention, the ORIGINAL lightning cable sleeve gave way after just a few weeks use. And do mind that it was HOME USE. Havent been brought out to use roughly.
And guess what, I JUST TRIED PLUGGED THE ORIGINAL LIGHTNING CABLE TO A SAMSUNG CHARGER AND IT WORKED.
I hereby swear to God that every word i said here is nothing but the truth. Not spamming. It has already caused me countless inconvenience but still i will bring the charger and the phone to the authorised lab once again to have it checked, and looking forward to get an explanation.

Both charger and cable are covered under warranty as well.  Get them replaced.
    Who would compensate my losses???
    Nobody

  • Issues transferring photo/video from iPhone 6 to Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 via USB-to-Lightning cable

    Hello all—
Recent upgrader to iPhone 6. I have a mid-'09 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and I'm seeking to transfer video I just shot on my iPhone 6 to my Macbook Pro. They are large files so I need to transfer via USB-to-Lightning cable as I don't have wi-fi capability to do the upload. However I can't access the iPhone 6 as a storage device through finder or image capture and can't figure out another way to transfer the files non-wirelessly. Any suggestions? The old iPhoto '09 on here won't let me import, either.

Why virtualize Leopard and not Snow Leopard?
I guess I did it once in Parallels:

But to be honest, I have forgotten how!
Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed into Parallels is another matter altogether!

  • What cables do I need for CarPlay?

Now that the CarPlay firmware has been released, I'd like to buy the necessary cables to get it working.  Does anyone know which cables I need to get everything working?
I currently have the Pioneer AVH-4000NEX in my truck.  I also have the MirrorLink cables that came with the stereo already installed.  I just need to know which Apple cables/adapters to buy for my iPhone 6 to finalize everything.

Maybe you have already answered your own question...
I also have the 4000NEX and upgraded to CarPlay yesterday as well.  All you need is a standard USB to Lightning cable and connect it to the USB1 connection on the back of the unit.  My installer, like most, have a cable coming out from the back of my unit that I can plug directly into.  Very easy!
You don't need all the extra cabling that was required to use the AppRadio part of the NEX.

  • What is the length of the Lightning cable that comes with the iPad Air?

    Actually have three questions.
    1. What is the length of the Lightning cable that came with my iPad Air? I ask because I might need to purchase a new one.
    2. My current Lightning cable, the one that came with my Air, the end of the cable, the rubber is coming off, it's stretched. Would AC+ send me a new one?
    3. I have an iPhone 5s also, does the iPhone have it's own unique Lightning cable or can I use my iPad Air Lightning cable to charge my iPhone and vice versa, are the Lightning cables universal with the newer products?
    Thanks.

  • Why did my hdmi lightning cable stop working?

Was able to watch on the tv screen using mirroring with my new ipad and apples hdmi lightning cable.
Suddenly today no mirroring occurs. The screen goes blank, then "no signal".
When i try with my husbands ipad mini, no problem, his still works, so its not the cable...
I do not want to stand in line for an hour and then have some 'genius' reset my ipad and tell me to go home and try again.
    Any ideas?

  • Original Lightning cable doesn't work

Hi , first of all sorry for my bad english.
I bought an original Lightning cable with the apple logo and all the stuff printed on the box, but when I tried on my phone it doesn't work. And a pop-up appear with the text: "the accessory may not be certified" or something like that. But this can not be possible because I bought it on a original apple store.
So then I plugged it in to another iOS device and it works with this devices!, maybe someone is thinking: 'oh is dirt in the Lightning connector on the iphone'. But that was the first thing I checked and it is ok, no dirt, no humidity no nothing.
The most bizarre of all is that a friend give me his original lightning cable (the one who came with his iPhone) and it works on my phone!
I've tried with other original cables such as one from an iPad for example and it works too.
So I went to the Apple Store where I bought the cable and they changed it for a new one, and surprise... it doesn't work. So what I can do? Looks like I'm not able to use other lightning cable who has not came with the original iDevice. I suspect is something with the iOS system, but I have resetted, and updated to iOS 8.2 and nothing. I've tried many things, and I don't know what else I can do. I'm really disappointed of apple this time, also I'm surprise with the worldwide problem of the quikly battery draining on iOS8, and apple fall on deaf ears with this
Does anyone has an idea what could be the reason for this annoying problem?

Unless you have one of those pad that claim to charge by laying a device on, you're out of luck until you get a new cable (assuming the cablie is at fault).  If you know anyone with a new IP5, you should plug the cable into it and see if it charges their phone.  If so, there is sometihing wrong with your phone.
Re the Apple store, you can order a cable online for home shipment. Also, keep checking eBay.  I'm sure the Hong Kong guys are working 24/7 to build a supply of knockoff cables.

  • HT4623 I was updating my iPod Touch 5 iOS from Ver 7.0.3 to Ver 7.0.4 and my iPod locked up. Can not reset. The only thing I get is a picture the lightning cable pointing to a circular iTunes icon. Any idea on how to unlock my device? Thanks. Stroke72

I was updating my iPod Touch 5 iOS from Ver 7.0.3 to Ver 7.0.4 and myiPod locked up. I can not reset or restore the unit. The only thing it will do is show me a graphic of thr lightning cable facing up to an arrow and then to a circular blue iTunes icon. I interpert this to mean "connect the iPod to my computer thru the USB cable while iTunes is running. I do this and nothing changes. Total lock up. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Lightning to HDMI.

  • What cable do I need to transfer files to my 2013 iMac from my 2009 iMac?

what cable do I need to transfer files to my 2013 iMac from my 2009 iMac?
    Thanks in advance,
    Braden

There aren't any ports in common between both Macs except the USB, that can't be used to connect both Macs. The easiest solution is to connect both Macs with a FireWire 800 cable and get the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter, which you will have to connect into one of the Thunderbolt ports of the 2013 iMac.
Then, to transfer files to the 2013 iMac, you have to put the 2009 iMac in Target Disk Mode, so start it holding the T key, and you will see the FireWire icon on the screen. Now, the 2013 iMac is detecting the hard disk of the 2009 iMac as an external disk, so open a Finder window and select it, under "Devices", and you will be able to transfer the data you want to your 2013 iMac.
If you have to transfer applications and settings, too, I recommend you to use Migration Assistant with both Macs connected with the FireWire cable, too > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4889

Try doing it without a cable!
    Use AirDrop, described here:

UPDATE - Oh, sorry, I see the article points out the MacBook is too old for AirDrop.
