Lightning connector makes noises

I have an ipad mini, and when I plug in the connector and move it a little up and down it makes clicking noises. Am I breaking it? Shouldn't a connector be able to hold that?

I recently tried resetting all my settings. This did not work either.
The cable may appear to be charging, but no juice is flowing. If I reverse the cable, however, it starts charging.
I can't be the only one with this issue, as it appears to be firmware related. There's a chance it's hardware related, but my iPhone was working fine for weeks, with all cables. Now, all my "reversible" lightning cables only work one way.

  • IPhone 5 Lightning Connector.

I have the iPhone 5 and the problem is with the Lightning connector.
When I charge my phone or use the phone during charge, and when I am handling the phone while charging, the lightning connector makes the phone come on and off charge constantly. it keeps switching between charging and not charging, like the connection is loose or something, any ideas why its doing this or how to fix it?

That sounds like a faulty cable...take the iPone, charger and cable to an Apple store and have the techs check them out.

  • Will Apple make a 30-pin to lightning connector that will work with a case?

Why did Apple make the 30-pin to lightning connector useless when you have a case on your iPhone 5/5s? The lightning connector part isn't long enough to fit inside when using Apple's own cases (i.e. the new leather cases for the 5s). Does anyone know if there are plans to correct this mistake and lengthen the connector?

From the reviews on Apple's site, the cabled adaptor does NOT work with Apple's own case - the lightning plug is too fat :-(

  • New iPod Classic with lightning connector in 2013?

So I am slowly stepping my apple products game up.  Now all my stuff has the new lightning connector.  What about my ipod classic?  I use that mofo erryday.  I wanna get rid of it but only if they come out with a new one with the lightning connector.  Apple needs to step they game up.  I for one am a heavy ipod classic user and Apple needs to get off they high horse and make a new one, so i can use the same charger for errythang.  And, I know one of you geniuses that read this post is going to say just buy the adapter.  Ummm NO, i dont want to!
So to the people at Apple, get your shyt together and come out with a new iPod Classic and make that bytch 500 GB.  LOL

Speculating about future Apple products is not one of the topics "encouraged" on Apple's user forum.

  • I have difficulty charging my iphone 5. The nearest service center said that there are missing pins in my lightning connector.

My phone is still under warranty but the service center said that it is voided due to the missing pins inside the lightning connector.  What do i do with this? My phone can charge but you need to press on the cord a little for it to click.  My cord is not the issue because I just bought it and it is brand new.

Well, your service is handled by an Authorized Apple Service Center. If they refuse to handle the claim, that is well within their rights. Apple as well could void a claim under the same circumstances. I'm not saying that you did or did not modify the device, but you could try and talk to a supervisor there and make another request. You can also try and contact Apple by obtaining a number with this support document and describe your problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

  • Are any radio/alarm clock docking stations with a lightning connector coming out soon?

I've had the iPhone 5 for a while now, and I've been waiting for a product like the iHome to come out with the lightning connector.  However, I haven't heard or seen any news about this.  Is anybody aware of any products coming out?

iHome already makes docks that support the Lightning connector:

  • Lightning connector issue

New iPhone 6 with Lightning connector .
I have Spigen neo hybrid iPhone 6 case
The lower port Has thicker bottom frame that make connecting Apple's Lightning to 30-pin Adapter impossible.
Any advise how to solve the issue ?
    Thanks !

Has anyone found a solution to this scenario?   Equipment:  iPhone 6 plus, slim case cover, eKey supra and Apple adapter.  Problem:  The adaptor pin is too short (or the adaptor plastic is too wide) for the pin to be able to reach and connect.  To remove the phone case every time I want to use the adapter is not an ideal situation.  Thank you in advance!

  • HT201269 Is there a right, and wrong way to plug the lightning connector into the phone?

The lightning connector dosen't want to plug into the slot and I don't want to force it, ... is there a right and wrong way to do this bisic and simple step?  Thanks

No, it is a reversible plug. Either way is fine.
Just make sure you plug it in straight until it "clicks" into place. It may take a bit of force if new, but check there's nothing in the port first.

  • Is the new lightning connector strong enough?

I plan on getting an iPhone once i can but when i hook it up to a set of speakers and the phone is held up the lightning connector will it be strong enough.  I dont want the thing snapping if the phone gets bumped or something.

As roaminggnome said, none of us have one yet so it's hard to tell. This being said though, I think apple may include one of those docks (you know the ones that used to come with iPods)... That would help cradle the phone and make sure the phone fits into wherever you plan on plugging it into comfortably...
If they don't include one of those, I assume it should be strong enough...
But again, none of us really know..

  • Any problems with lightning connector?

New 5c charged only twice and now lightning connector feels loose and wont charge.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby taking the cable along with the iPhone. All package contents are included with the iPhone's warranty if determined to be a problem with the cable. If determined to be a manufacturing problem with the iPhone's lightning connector port, the iPhone will be exchanged.

  • The lightning connector for the iPod touch 5th Generation jiggles

The lightning connector for the iPod touch 5th Generation jiggles just slightly up and down in the iPod itself. I think the lightning connector is slightly smaller than the port which is why it jiggles, but I am not sure. Can you guys confirm my theory, or did I damage it.
    Thanks for any help.

    Could be either.
    Try another cable

  • My D800 SD card is not recognized by my new IPad. I have the lightning connector and tried but RAW and small Jpeg files...nothing!! Why not?

Cant use my IPad lightning connector for SD card with D800 even though I have tried RAW and increasingly smaller files with JPEG. Nothing works...HOw can that be that the files are recognized on a Mac but worthless for using an IPad??
