Lightning port to AUX?

I only have an AUX port in my Toyota Corolla.  Ok with iPod.   Not with new Ipad with lightning port.  Is there an adapter that will convert this so I can connect my lightning port to AUX port.

Picture, please? Anything like this?
If YES, then you need a cable like this, and you can leave the lightning port alone:

  • 1 Lightning port as both 2nd monitor AND storage SSD? - 21" 2011 iMac

    Hello!
I am considering picking up my first SSD drive for use as a work horse for streaming video and audio for my prosumer use.  My 21" 2011 iMac only has the one lightning port, which I plug my old 19" LCD monitor into for the extra screen real estate.  Not wanting to bottleneck the SSD speed by connecting it to USB 2 or even FireWire, does such a throughput device exist that would allow the one lightning port to support both  my 19" display as well as a mounted, external SSD drive?  I know that the lightning port had an expandable future, but I'm not sure if this is possible.  If it IS possible, I would imagine doing so would still be expensive.  Thanks a bunch!

Haha, THUNDERBOLT!   Sorry, mate.  I must have been thinking of the newer iPad/iPhone connector.  Goes to show you how much mind I've paid to apples new port.  Anyway, that's great news.  Thank you.  I was pessimistic about their being enough bandwidth to fully support my 2nd monitor in addition to the top notch speeds of an SSD.  I was curious to know where there might be any sacrifices one way or another.

If you are still under warranty, contact Apple to get it serviced. You can also visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it looked at.

  • IPhone 5 bricked by mysteriously clogged lightning port

Last month, my 2.5 year-old iPhone 5's lightning port suddenly did not allow a lightning connector to plug in completely.
Of course, this prevents one from charging the phone, so I ran to the Apple Store expecting them to take out whatever was in the port.
The associates at the store said that unfortunately, whatever was in there must have melted from the high temperature that is present in there when the phone is charging, and there was not way to repair it. I ended up spending $300 for a replacement iPhone 5.
Has anyone else had such an experience?
I am extremely hesitant to purchase anything with a lightning connector in the future, since it mysteriously became physically non-functional under regular use.

This is the case... unless I understand what happened... thus this post.
I have many devices with mini-USB connectors... none have ever clogged up.
I have 3 pre-lightning port iPhones... none have ever clogged up.
I have had half a dozen or so iPods...none have ever clogged up.
I have one device with a lightning port. It mysteriously clogged up beyond repair.

  • IPod nano 7th Generation broken lightning port

I noticed that my lightning port on my iPod nano 7g is not making a good connection when I try to charge it. As I wiggle the connection, the lightning bolt charging icon will flicker on and off.  The connection is apparently loose.  Does anyone know of a DIY fix on YouTube, etc, or repair service other than the $75 Apple one?

  • IDevices with Lightning Port - Silent Mode after Charging

    Hi,
I have been tracking and troubleshooting an issue with iOS devices - iPhone 5 (two units) and iPad 4 since its launch and iOS 6.0 until now at latest iOS 6.0.1/6.0.2 (dependent on device) without much success to narrow the cause.
It appears that the various iOS devices with lightning port that I (and my partner) have exhibits the issue of it going into "Silent Mode" after charging. And once it gets into this "Silent Mode", the toggling the silent switch on and off will not have any effect, and so does any of the sound settings. The only way to resolve this permanent "Silent Mode" is to restart the iOS device.
All the lightning cables used are Apple genuine ones purchased direct from Apple Online Store (during the initial weeks of iPhone 5 launch, total purchased 3 on top of those that came with iPhone 5 and iPad 4). The charging adapter/device varies though, from Apple 10W iPad charging adapter, Apple 12W iPad charging adapter (that cause with iPad 4), to Dell Latitude E6400 laptop and Apple Mac Mini (2011). This issue has been random irregardless of which charging adapter/device used, but has been more prone to occur when charging from the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop (the most number of times it has happened on both iPhone 5 and iPad 4).
Is anyone experiencing similar issue? Or have any suggestions to reproduce the issue?

Haven't experienced this on either of 2 iPhone 5's or an iPad Mini.
Try restoring one of the devices. See if that helps. Since you have multiple devices to test on, restore a different one as a "new" device.
If the one restored as 'new' does not have problems, and the other does, then it can probably be traced to an app that they have in common or corruption in the backup used to restore them.

  • On the usb port lightning port broken off inside port

ON THE USB PORT LIGHTNING PORT BROKEN OFF INSIDE PORT

If you have a very fine nosed pair of tweezers you can try to pull it out. However take care, if you put any scratches on the device and something goes wrong with your port in the future, someone could use those scratches to void the warranty. (ANY visible damage can be grounds to not honor the warranty)
If you have an apple store nearby, I'd make an appointment and take it in and see if they can remove it.

  • IPad 4 keyboard case with Lightning port? (NOT micro-USB)

    Hello,
I have an iPad 4th gen and looking to buy a keyboard case for it.
All the cases I've seen so far use micro-USB for charging. I'm trying to actively reduce the number of cables on my desk so I'm looking for a case that has a Lightning port for charging, so that the same USB/Lightning cable I use to charge my iPad can also charge the case.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Considering the cases available are generally produced by third parties its very unlikely you would find one that charges with an Apple charging cord. Usually they use some type of micro USB

  • Lightning port charges but no audio out

Audio out sour stopped working from lightning port.  Still charges.  Audio out worked previously.

Check in Control Center, is audio being directed to the lightning port, bluetooth, headphones, speaker?

Since there's no one side on a lightning cable, make an appointment with genius bar for an evaluation.

  • Lightning port is a little wobbly, should I worry?

    Hello,
I recently purchased a 128gb iPad 4th Generation about a month ago, and it has been used only lightly, but already the lightning connector port (the inside of the port) feels a little "wobbly." There's been no trouble connecting and charging (thus far) and the connector stays latched to the device, and I think it's "too soon" to exchange it, since it's still mostly (sans the aforementioned port) in mint condition, my question is, should I worry? Is this common in similar iDevices, am I just noticing this slight rocking back and forth (vertically towards and from the "home" button only, not right and left) of the inside of the connector port just now? Is this normal? Will this become an issue?
I've noticed similar posts across the web regarding the issue with the lightning connector port, and iDevices are not cheap in price or in construction, hopefully Apple will address this design flaw in their otherwise spectacular products.
    Thank you for the advice.
    Dwayne

I actually figured out the problem.
Because of the shape of the iPad4 the bottom part of the metal tip of the lightning connector is exposed (much like it was with the 30 pin connector), so the plastic part of the lightning connector cable's end doesn't "rest" against anything which basically (literally) gives it, it's "give," or a very, very minute "wobble;" to one direction (away from the home bottom).
Also, I had it in its Smart Case, which definately made the movement seem like much more than it was.
    This is all very embarrassing.

  • Lightning port too tight - is that normal?

I'm satisfied with my iPad Air, but I've noticed one thing that bothers me - a lot. When I insert the lightning connector, it seems way too tight. I have to jam it in much harder than with the iPad Mini.
This is a new unit. Should I demand a replacement? Am I doing something wrong?

Both pieces of advice make sense.
However, my iPad Mini and iPad 4 use the Lightning connector easily; the iPad Air almost needs a wrench. I'm still in the first days of ownership, and I can only imagine how many connectors I'll damage over time. I'll demand an exchange - or, if possible, a fix.

  • I'm looking for a compact flash card reader that will work with the ipad 4 with the lightning port. please help?!

I purchased the ipad 4/retina diplay 64 GB model today and i need a compact flash card reader that works with it.
has anyone had any luck with this??
    thank you.

I found this with a simple Google Search:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Camera-Card-Reader-Connection-iPad/dp/B005NN8V3M
But Diovonex is correct, use the standard Camera Connection kit and transfer them from the camera directly as described in this other thread.

  • Is there going to be a FM car transmitter which works with lightning port for iPhone5?

I don't want to use my old one with an adaptor really because my old FM transmitter was a wireless one and was poor quality.

I've looked around and there currently isn't one planned, but I'd keep an eye on Belkin and Griffin Technology, they are the two companies most likely to make one.
