Lightning to 30 pin adaptor

I have iPod nano 4th gen with 30-pin (female) connector. I also have Bose SoundDock Series III with (male) lightning connector. Where can I get an adaptor to connect them together and listen to music stored in my iPod through the Bose docking station ? I live in the UK and need to be able to buy on-line.

Have you gone back and explained to them the error of their ways?
I would include the manager of the Apple Store in that conversation.
You might ask the genius to purchase the cable that he suggest back from you. To me that sounds like a fair deal.

THis is means they are not charging on a 30 pin cable and the touch won't work in my Apple iPod dock - no audio out or charge. Have re powered both devices to no avail am wondering if the iOS version is the problem
    Help!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • Can iPod touch 5g connect to an audio amplifier via lightning to 30 pin adaptor and through a 30 pin to RCA cable adaptor

Can the iPod touch 5g connect to an audio amplifier via lightning to 30 pin adaptor and through a 30 pin to RCA cable adaptor? It works on the latest iPod nano but it doesn't on iPhone 6. I have spoken to the apple reseller sales personnel but he has no clue.

If it works on the 7G Nano and does not on the iPhone 6 I would not expect it to work on the 5G iPod..
Just what adopter are you talking about? Can you provide a link?

  • Does the lightning to 30 pin adaptor work in speaker docks?

My old 3rd Generation iPod stopped working (the round scrolling dial won't work), so I bought a new 7th generation iPod last week.  I realized I couldn't play it on my fairly low-end Memorex speaker dock, so I got one of those $30 lightning-to-30-pin adaptors.  The new iPod charges, but it won't play music in my speakers.  Is this a problem with my particular adaptor, or do those not work to play music?  I am hoping there is some kind of setting adjustment I can make...  Thanks!

There are reports that 30-pin adapter does not work in all types of speaker docks. If it should, there should not have any trouble interfacing it with the ipod. If you are planning to get a new dock, check with the store first if it is compatible before you purchase it. Cheers!

lightning to 30 pin adaptor giving no sound when connected to docking station

I am always amazed in these forums by the number of people who think they are helping by asking obvious questions about the problem with no clue what the real issue is or how to help.
    That being said:
I had the same problem after upgrading.
Could boot your tablet, should fix the problem.
    1. power off the unit.
    2. Power on by holding the power button and volume up button at the same time.
    3. using the volume up and down button as a right and left curser, selectt the Android icon and press the power button.
    4. this will cold boot the system and the various dock functions should return.
Warning: Selecting anything else but the android icon will reset the device to factory defaults and wipeout all your info.

  • Just bought a Bluetooth headset second hand it comes with a transmitter that plugs into the iPhone but as my phone is a 5 will the Lightning to 30 pin adaptor work?

II've just bought a second hand Bluetooth headset which comes with a separate transmitter that plugs into the base of the phone. However it has a 30 pin connection and as my iphone is 5 I need an adaptor,
MY question is, will the Lightning to 30 pin Apple adaptor (£25.00), do the trick?

    Hi biggles83,
Your iPhone 5 has Bluetooth available without using an external transmitter - see its specifications page -
    iPhone 5 - Technical Specifications

So you can set up the headset using the methods described on this page -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Lightning to 30-pin adaptor not compatible w 30-pin digital AV adapter?!

We purchased the two subject adapters, along with an HDMI to HDMI cable for a friend with a new iPad.
When we connected it to view pictures on our tv, we got that hideous message about not being compatible with iPad.
The 'genius' at the Apple store said it would work.  I guess they were wrong.  Very aggravating.

  • What adapter do I need for my ipod Nano 7th Generation to connect to a Sony home docking station (30 pin). I purchased the one recommended (Lightning to 30 pin adapter), but it says 'this accessory is not supported by this device)?

Could someone please tell me the correct lead I need for an Applie Ipod 7th Generation 16GB for a Sony docking station. I bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor that fits the dock but not the ipod (this was recommended to me by someone from the Apple shop believe it or not). I need one that will fit the ipod and then slot into the 30 pin dock. The dock pulls out and my old ipod (5th Generation) just slotted straight in, but this slot obviously doesn't fit. It would really help if someone can recommend what I need to use or even if there is one that just slots in or whether I need some sort of cable and can't use the docking station. I've had a lock at the Apple store but just keep getting confused about what does what and can't seem to see anything unless I need an additional cable to slot into the 30 pin adapter I already have?

  • Mini Cooper not working with Lightning 30 pin Adaptor for iPhone5

I have a 2012 Mini Cooper with a "standard" stereo.  I used to plug my iPhone 4 into the cord provided by Mini and it played my music & podcasts.  Now, with the Lightning to 30 pin Adapter to connect my iPhone5, my music is now only coming out of 1 speaker and the phone information will not appear.  I do not have Mini Connect.  Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks.

That happened to me too. Check your Y-cable. Make sure the 3.5mm cable is fully connected to the auxilliary jack on your 2012 MINI Cooper. You may also want to slightly twist the cable connections in the middle box part of the Y-cable if the first solution does not work for you. Good luck!

  • I need a lightning to lightning extention cable for my lightning digital a/v adaptor

Why doesn't apple make a certified lightning to lightning extention cable?  Not just a longer lightning to USB cable like they have on their site. Need to extend the reach of my lightning digital a/v adaptor. I know there are 3rd party foreign versions but I would rather not risk my money or devices on cables that don't work or are dangerous.

Google lightning connector to 30 pin connector and see how many hits you get.

  • No longer able to use non-apple lightning to 30 pin adapter cable with IOS 8

Do any of you use an Apple iDevice with a digital transport docking station to get your music from your device to your speakers using an external DAC?
I have an Onkyo ND-S1 which was great when using my iPhone 4S plugged into the dock sending digital audio through to my active speakers with built in DAC….
But since upgrading to an iPhone 6, running IOS 8.1.1 which has a lightning port, I purchased an aftermarket ‘lightning to 30-pin female adapter cable’ to continue using the dock with my new iPhone.
It doesn’t work. The adapter is not approved by Apple and somehow they have managed to bork all non-apple cables, ie it won’t charge, it won’t send digital audio. It’s essentially useless. Now, this is a cable that was manufactured & marketed specifically to allow iDevices with a lightning port to connect to digital transport docks, and I believe that it used to work with IOS 7.x, but it appears that with the rollout of IOS 8.x, Apple has done something that renders all non-apple cables redundant.
Apple sell their own £30 adapter cable, but that has its own DAC built in to the unit – now stupid question time: If I used one of these cables, would it (a) Do nothing, just like the non-apple cable, (b) Convert the audio to analogue, then send the converted audio to the speakers (by analogue cable only), resulting in a lower quality reproduction?  Or (c) Would it bypass the DAC in the cable and send the digital signal to the speakers?
Does anybody have any experience of this?

If the 3rd party adapter doesn't work it is because it is a counterfeit device The manufacturer has failed to licence the lightning technology from Apple ergo it does not work
Of course the Applr product will work ,infact most of the copies in very very small prin tsay in advert it does not support sound intended for charging only
