Lightning to 30 pin to Yamaha iMX1 cable

According to my experiments and endless endeavors this kind of connection doesn't work on iPad Air with iOS 7.1.x.
Any clues?
Thanks
Michele

Peter
thanks for your reply. The adapter is Genuine Apple and I bought it just to connect a MIDI keybard with that Yamaha MIDI cable to the iPad Air.
Honestly I don't know what other gear could connect to that lightning to 30 pin adapter.
I bought also the lightning CCK and it works with Roland Audio Capture EX. The MIDI keyboard sends and receives MIDI data. At present I was not able to record any audio with Cubasis, perhaps it's a matter of configuration.
Unfortunately I heard other people who had issues with this lighting to 30 pin adapter.
i'm still clueless and ****** off because I hate wasting my money for expensive accessories.

  • APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A

I have just bought a new iPod Touch 5th Gen.
Will the "APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A" let me connect the iPod to my surround sound, which has a 30 pin dock, and allow the music to play through the system?
Have been doing some searching and have seen varying answers.  The APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A cable is not cheap so I don't want to be paying out for something that will not do the job.
    Thanks

Thanks - hadn't considered the surround controls controlling the iPod so handy to know

  • No longer able to use non-apple lightning to 30 pin adapter cable with IOS 8

Do any of you use an Apple iDevice with a digital transport docking station to get your music from your device to your speakers using an external DAC?
I have an Onkyo ND-S1 which was great when using my iPhone 4S plugged into the dock sending digital audio through to my active speakers with built in DAC….
But since upgrading to an iPhone 6, running IOS 8.1.1 which has a lightning port, I purchased an aftermarket ‘lightning to 30-pin female adapter cable’ to continue using the dock with my new iPhone.
It doesn’t work. The adapter is not approved by Apple and somehow they have managed to bork all non-apple cables, ie it won’t charge, it won’t send digital audio. It’s essentially useless. Now, this is a cable that was manufactured & marketed specifically to allow iDevices with a lightning port to connect to digital transport docks, and I believe that it used to work with IOS 7.x, but it appears that with the rollout of IOS 8.x, Apple has done something that renders all non-apple cables redundant.
Apple sell their own £30 adapter cable, but that has its own DAC built in to the unit – now stupid question time: If I used one of these cables, would it (a) Do nothing, just like the non-apple cable, (b) Convert the audio to analogue, then send the converted audio to the speakers (by analogue cable only), resulting in a lower quality reproduction?  Or (c) Would it bypass the DAC in the cable and send the digital signal to the speakers?
Does anybody have any experience of this?

If the 3rd party adapter doesn't work it is because it is a counterfeit device The manufacturer has failed to licence the lightning technology from Apple ergo it does not work
Of course the Applr product will work ,infact most of the copies in very very small prin tsay in advert it does not support sound intended for charging only

  • Can iPod touch 5g connect to an audio amplifier via lightning to 30 pin adaptor and through a 30 pin to RCA cable adaptor

Can the iPod touch 5g connect to an audio amplifier via lightning to 30 pin adaptor and through a 30 pin to RCA cable adaptor? It works on the latest iPod nano but it doesn't on iPhone 6. I have spoken to the apple reseller sales personnel but he has no clue.

If it works on the 7G Nano and does not on the iPhone 6 I would not expect it to work on the 5G iPod..
Just what adopter are you talking about? Can you provide a link?

  • Lightning to 30 pin adapter with a lightning end is the same size as the cable that comes with the phone?

Has anyone found a lightning to 30 pin adapter where the lightning end is the same size as the cable that comes with the phone?  I know there have been some non-apple versions, but I can't tell if they are the same as the Apple versions where the lightnin end is slightly bigger than the cabe that ships with the phone.  Most iPhone bumpers only accomodate the original charing cabe ad the adapter cable is just slighter bigger and doesnt fit.  Also, i'm not referring to the square, cable-less adapter.

Depending on your caes I shaped mine carefully with a craft knife seems all the case manufacturers designed the cases for lightning cables but seemed blind to the adapter and it's likely use

THis is means they are not charging on a 30 pin cable and the touch won't work in my Apple iPod dock - no audio out or charge. Have re powered both devices to no avail am wondering if the iOS version is the problem
    Help!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • What adapter do I need for my ipod Nano 7th Generation to connect to a Sony home docking station (30 pin). I purchased the one recommended (Lightning to 30 pin adapter), but it says 'this accessory is not supported by this device)?

Could someone please tell me the correct lead I need for an Applie Ipod 7th Generation 16GB for a Sony docking station. I bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor that fits the dock but not the ipod (this was recommended to me by someone from the Apple shop believe it or not). I need one that will fit the ipod and then slot into the 30 pin dock. The dock pulls out and my old ipod (5th Generation) just slotted straight in, but this slot obviously doesn't fit. It would really help if someone can recommend what I need to use or even if there is one that just slots in or whether I need some sort of cable and can't use the docking station. I've had a lock at the Apple store but just keep getting confused about what does what and can't seem to see anything unless I need an additional cable to slot into the 30 pin adapter I already have?

  • Lightning to 30 pin connector not charging my nano from my dock

Is it just me, or does the Apple Lightning to 30 pin connector not pass charge correctly?
I bought a new iPod Nano a few weeks ago, not realising I would be getting one of the new Lightning connector ones, so when I ordered my iPad from Apple I also bought a Lightning to 30 pin connector so that I can properly use my JBL dock (which is quite old, bought it with my old 5th Gen iPod). Although it's great that it connects and allows me to control the iPod with the remote control and is a **** of a lot neater than dangling it by a cable from the headphone jack to the RCA input on the dock, I'm getting really frustrated by the fact that I'm not getting any charge being passed through to the iPod from the dock. This was one of the best things about having a dock, not only could I play my music with a good quality sound from the speakers, I could also play it all day long without worrying about the battery consumption as it was being charged at the same time. Now, if I've been using the iPod at the gym through the week, I find that I'm having to take the iPod off the dock and charge via a wall charger or my laptop - the latter allowing me to rever to the old way of hooking the iPod to the dock via headphone jack. It's really annoying that I've spent so much money on something that doesn't do everything I'd expected of it. I'm wondering if it's faulty or if it's the age of the dock - which I haven't used with an iPod for about 5 years!
Has anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried resetting the dock by removing it from power?  What about resetting the iPod Touch? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Looking for an extender for lightning to 30-pin  adapter

The .2m, or the longer lightning to 30-pin adapter for the Iphone 5/5s/5c, is too small.
I drive a 2008 VW Jetta with a 30-pin iPod adapter dock in the center that was stock with the car. I have the adapter, but, it is just not long enough at all. I don't mind it, but I would prefer, of course, to have something longer, and safer.
I have already tried Cablejive cables, and they are not compatible with VW systems.
I don't care if the solution is bulky at this point, I just want something safer when I drive, so it is easier to pick my music.
I was reading somewhere someone using a firewire cable or something? And just to let you know, I do not have an MDI connector.
    Thank you all.

If you're using a case on your iPhone 5, the problem may have something to do with the way your case was designed. Many of the most popular cases aren't compatible with the adapter becasue they prevent it from being flush with the bottom of your iPhone.
The workaround solutions are to cut out part of the bottom of your case so the dock connector will fit, or to exchange the adapter for the adapter cable, which is $10 more but plugs in to the bottom of your iPhone like the USB cable that came with it.
Personally, I just cut two small rubber parts of my case out (an Incipio DualPro that otherwise offers great protection, which I got at the local Verizon store). That solved the problem for me.

  • Lightning to 30 pin adapter

I currently have a 5th generation 30GB ipod that I use in my car with a cables to go 3.5mm to dock connector audio cable.
I want to upgrade to a 32GB ipod touch and I was wondering if I use the Apple lightning to 30 pin adapter and connect it to my cables to go cable in my car will the touch give me a line out signal the way my current ipod and cable does so that I can listen through my cars audio system?
    Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks
    Frank

I ended up cancelling my order for an iPod touch 4 and instead ordered an iPod touch 5 32GB.
I received my iPod touch 5 yesterday and tried using the Lightning to 30 pin adapter in my car with the Cables to Go 30 pin connector to 3.5mm cable connected to the AUX port in my car and heard nothing through my cars stereo system.
Fortunately when I ordered the iPod I also ordered another 30 pin connector to 3.5mm cable by Comprehensive and when I hooked up that cable in my car it seemed to work perfectly. Not sure what the difference in the cables could be, but I think I will pick up an extra one.

  • Case for iphone 6 plus with lightning to 30 pin adapter?

I recently upgraded to a iPhone 6 plus from an iPhone 5.  I have been using the square lightning to 30 pin adapter to adapt the 30 pin plugs on both my bedside clock radio/dock for overnight charging and in the glovebox connector in my 2013 VW Jetta.  I had no issues connecting the plug with an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone 5.  However, there are very few cases on the market right now for the iPhone 6 plus, and the Otterbox was not readily available when I purchased the phone 2 weeks ago, and I'm also not so sure I want to fork over the $60 since Apple isn't recommending the Otterboxes anyways.  I'm not sure I buy into the Lifeproof concept, although I know some people love them.  The Tech21 cases also have to be ordered, and don't have integrated screen protection like the Otterbox Defender.  Admittedly, as careful as I try to be with my phone, I am a dropper and need a protective case.  I ordered a cheaper Caseology case, but it does not allow the lightning to 30 pin adapter plug to attach, so I cannot charge my phone on my bedside dock or in my car with the adapter.  I looked at the Spigen cases online as well as several others, but none of them seem, from visual inspection of the online photos, to have the large opening that the Otterbox for my iPhone 5 did that allowed the adapter to be connected.
Yes, I could buy extra lightning cables and reinvent my whole charging system, but I have found the cables to be not nearly as durable as the adapters (I've gone through many cables in the last two plus years, but still have the same two adapters.)  I would rather find a case that accommodates the adapter.  Any suggestions for cases that will allow the adapter to be attached with the case still on?

Have a look at cableJive they make the dockStubz which might do what you are looking for

  • Please confirm whether a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter will work with Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter?

Please confirm whether a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter is suppose to work with Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter?
The Packaging of Lightning to 30-pin Adapter suggests it does.
But I have tried this today and my IPad just stated Unsupported accessory.

Expect Lightning extention cables in black shortly. Since extention need no special circuitry 3rd party's are already working on then.

  • Lightning to 30 Pin Adapter Charging Starts and Stops Intermittently

I purchased two Lightning to 30 Pin adapters, and both are exhibiting the same problem.  They seem to start and stop charging intermittently on my iPhone 5, which, to be clear, is not in a case, nor is the adapter obstructed in any way.
I purchased one for a dedicated iPhone/iPad charging station that I keep by my nightstand.  The adapters fit flush with the 30 pin connector on the charging station side.  At least three or four times during the night, the phone vibrates twice with the "you've just connected to power" alert and wakes me up. Trying the same thing in the car with the other adapter, the iPhone charging starts and stops while connected to my 12v power converter via a Twig cable.  When I connect the standard Lightning cable to either the charging dock (through its included USB ports) or directly to the same 12v converter plug in my car's cigarette lighter, I have no trouble charging at all.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?  Could I have two faulty adapters (which doesn't seem likely), or is there something in the nature of the adapter that makes it turn on and off the charging on occasion?

I have the same problem. I bought the same type of Speck Candy Shell case that I had for my 3GS iPhone. The $34.00 Lighting to 30-pin adapter will not fit through the case and into the IPhone 5. I just talked to Apple support and after being on hold 5 mins while the tech talked to her supervisor, the Apple solution is "take your case off the phone when you want to use the adapter". I hope thousands of us complain and Apple fixes this. If Apple had not been so secretive and talked to accessory manufacturers they would of know that the Adapter they designed was faulty. Now I how to drive to an Apple store to return the Adapter to get my money back. Only the USB cable will fit through the case into the iPhone 5.
Bad Adapter design my Apple. Thats what happens when you design a product for millions of people - in a secretive bubble.

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m) (A1450) is not recognized by my Iphone 5s!!

I Just bougt the Lightning to 30-pin adapter (0.2m) (A1450). I'm now connecting the cable (device)  to my Iphone 5s (Ios 7.0.4) without any other device connected to it and I receive the message "This accessory is not supported by this device."
When I connect the adapter to my car stereo with my 30pin connector my iphone won't give me the option to play audio to the dock connecter. Lukyly it is charging.
Why is my iphone not regocnizing my (genuine) lightning to 30 pin adapter? If it would, I think it will also playback music via the connector like my old Iphone 4s.
    Thanks for reply

I am getting the same error. After a 30 minute drive each way to the Apple store, and not discovering the error until I got home, I am pretty upset. This is the reason we all buy genuine Apple accessories, so we don't have these kinds of warning messages and errors.
Time to go back to the store and have a Genius actually plug the next adapter into the phone to be sure it works before I leave the store. Grrrr.
