Lightning to Composite A/V

Hi, all.
We've recently purchased a 2014 Murano which has audio L/R jacks as well as a video jack (all RCA). I'd like to be able to pipe audio/video from my iPhone 5 into these. I've been poking around the web and TIL that it may be problematic unless you have the correct adapters, converters, etc.
What is your recommendation for a solution? Do I need to purchase some sort of converter that will take the digital A/V signal down to analog? If so, which product would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

100% sure that composite support was lost when pin30 connector was gone
also these days tv out is mainly using airplay mirror which well mirror and when composite don't support
a high enough resolution to mirror the display of iOS devices then I doubt the connector will be reintroduced as an option

  • What do I need to use my "IPAD MINI" on a TV without HDMI?

    Hi all,
I hope you guys can help as Apple Support on the phone and in store were useless!!!!
    Dilemma
I had an IPAD 2 and brought the Apple AV composite lead (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable) so I could watch my IPAD 2 onto my TV.
Now I have upgraded to an IPAD MINI. this has the new lightning adapter, so I was looking to purchase from Apple their Lightning to 30-pin adapter (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=45) so I could reuse my AV composite lead into my TV. And this is where the problems start.....
    1. The Lightning to 30-pin adapter does not support "video"!
    2. My TV does not have an HDMI, so rules out Apple TV, etc
    3. Apple do not do a Lightning AV composite lead and are unlikely to produce one apparently (as there is not the demand)
    My restrictions are as follows;
    1. My TV has scart and AV connections only (but no HDMI)
    2. I need to have audio and video supported (for photos / videos and sound)
    3. I can't afford to buy a new TV... by the way that was the Apple solution, then buy an Apple TV.... they are on a different planet..... lol :-)
Any help, pointers in the UK where I can buy a lead elsewhere would be great or any decent solutions (and they wouldn't have to be great to beat Apples thus far!).... thanks community!

I haven't found any Lightning-to-Composite Video adapter anywhere. You'll probably need the Lightning Digital AV adapter and then an HDMI to composite video converter, as suggested in Patrick's response in this thread:

I've found that suggestion echoed in other places, so that may be your only option.

  • What cable to buy for ipad 4 to connect to TV?

    hi all ,
i have ipad 4 retina display ,now i have a composite av cable which i used for me old ipad 1 to connect to the tv to watch movies etc,now that Apple have changed the adaptor connections this cable is no longer useful ,so now i would like to know which cable to buy now for my ipad 4 to connect to my tv.
    thanks

If your TV has an HDMI input, then the onyl choice would be the
    Lightning Digital AV Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
As I don't believe theren is a lightning to composite adapter at this time.
You may also need to buy an HDMI cable to go with it if you don't have a spare lying around.

  • Does Apple do a cable that will work with an Aiptek T15 pocket projector for iPhone 5?

I have an iPhone 5 and I have an Aiptek T15 pocket projector, when I purchased the projector I had an iPhone 4S so the cable I needed was an AV cable that connected my iPhone to the projector to play videos from YouTube, Netflix or any other video playback there was. But now I have the iPhone 5 so I need the same cable but of course with a lightening connector, does apple do such a cable or does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks in advance, and I apologise if this makes no sense! Thanks! :)

You might be able to use your existing cable along with the 30-pin to Lightning adapter .
If that doesn't work, though, you'll need additional equipment to get the signal converted as Apple does not make a lightning to composite/RCA cable.

  • How to get Composite video output with Lightning devices?

I am replacing my last 30-pin device this week, and now all of our devices are Lightning cords.  I have the Apple Composite AV cables in my vehicles, but Apple does not offer a Lightning version of them.  From what I read on the 30-pin to Lightning adapters, they do power and audio only at best, and so don't support video.  So, does anyone either know of a lightning AV adapter (with composite out), or a 30-to-8 pin adapter that will work with the above cables?
    Thanks.

I should add, I saw this (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD824ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter-02-m?fno de=3c) but reviews said they had issues with video.  Does anyone know if that works with video?

  • Lightning connection for new iPad. What do I need to watch movies on my TV as composite cables have pin connection?

Have been using composite cables with my old iPad to watch movies on TV. About to purchase new iPad with lightning cable, so will the lightning to 30 pin adapter do the job of connecting my ipad to the composite cables? Will it play the movie successfully on my TV?

  • Will a 30 pin to composite cable work with a lightning to 30 pin adaptor?

Does anyone know is a 30 pin to composite cable work with a lightning to 30 pin adaptor?

    Hi - this article may help - http://www.imore.com/lightning-connector-drops-video-out-support-wants-you-use-a irplay-and-apple-tv

  • Will there be a composite av adapter for the lightning plug

They have the composite av adapter for the 30 pin connectors so you can hook the older phones to a TV with the yellow, red and white cables.
Will they come out with one for the lightning?
Or is is best to use the lightning to hdmi and get a hdmi to composite cable if they are available

The best solution I've found so far is using an Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter -> HDMI cable -> Mini HDMI2AV Converter -> AV composite cables. I haven't used it myself but people over at the MacRumors forum have reporeted success.

  • No picture on TV with composite cable

i-Pad 2. Can get picture on TV with HDMI cable using Apple's cable but get sound only if using Composite cable. What am I doing wrong? Have even gone back to the apple shop and got a replacement cable as I thought the one I had was faulty. But same result. The yellow video socket on the TV is OK because it works with my digital camera.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I am pretty sure that will not work.  Does your TV have HDMI?  You will need this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter?fnode=4 5&fs=m.iphoneCompatibility%3Diphone_5
The adapter your purchased has this note :
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.

  • HT5498 Is this information still valid after one and a half years? Are the lightning-to-HDMI or lightning-to-VGA cables the only available options to send video to a TV set?

There is a relative using an iPhone 5s and is interested in streaming video from her iPhone to an old TV set; unfortunately the TV set does not have either HDMI or VGA connectors; therefore we figured out getting a "lightning-to-30 Pin adapter", plug it to the iPhone 5s and use an old "Composite AV Cable" to do the trick. However, I found this post informing video streaming is not possible through the "lightning-to-30 Pin adapter", but -considering its post date- I would like to know if that info is still valid or if something has changed since then. Obviously changing the TV set is not an option, we have a limited "budget" to solve this.

Thanks for the feedback Rudegar. We're not planning using airplay mirroring using AppleTV, but directly as it used to work with old iPhone 4S. Just attaching the composite video cable (30pin-to-Composite) to the iPhone 4 worked on almost any TV set equipped with composite jacks. Maybe I have to rewrite the question to "...available wired options to send video to a TV set?"

  • Lightning male to male cable?

Hi guys, I am upgrading sound/video in my car to be compatible with an iphone 5s and am in need of a lightning male to male cable.  Let me explain...
Inside the dash, I'll be installing an hdmi to composite video adaptor.  That will be fed by the apple lightning to hdmi adaptor.  I will be extending that with a lightning female to female so that I can flush mount the 8 pin connector so I don't have an 8 pin male connector sticking out.  But to plug the phone into that, I need a male to male cable which I haven't been able to find.  If one doesn't exist, I guess I could cut two cables and splice together.
    Any thoughts?

  • Using iPad Composite Video Cable with Mini

I have an Apple composite video cable that worked beautifully with my 1st generation iPad.  The 30 pin to lightning adapter will allow me to make the physical connections of that cable to my new Mini, but thus far I've been unable to get it to work.  Is this a lost cause, or can it be made to work?

    Thanks IIIass

    - my iPod Touch is a 3rd gen so I referred to that guide, but have upgraded software on it to iOS5.1... so that may explain why the TV Out option has disappeared.
    - I normally use the AV leads for my Wii into my TV,  and so have taken those out and put the Apple leads in then gone to the "game" input screen option I normally use for the Wii. I then connect the iPod Touch to the composite lead, and then press play on the video. The screen is black with no sound !
    - I have a portable TV I can test if it has the AV lead input sockets.

  • How do I use edge commons composition loader to load multiple compositions with a next and back button?

I am working on an interactive book and have set up each page as a separate composition in edge.
I am using  the edge commons JS library to load multiple compositions into a main composition.
You can see how this works here: Edge Commons - Extension Library for Edge Animate and Edge Reflow | EdgeDocks.com
The way the edge commons tutorial is set up requires a button for each composition i want to load. I am interested in loading multiple compositions with a "next" and "back" button, and a "swipe left, "swipe right" gesture on the content symbol that each composition is loaded into. I also need the swipe features on the content symbol not to interfere with the interactive elements on the loaded composition.
Please suggest a solution that will work without adding additional scripts beyond edge commons and jquery.

Sort of. I'm using this code inside an action for a button symbol. But it doesn't work perfectly. Trying to debug it.
Let me know if you have any luck.

  • Mini DVI to S-video and composite giving complete distorted output!!

I tried to hook up my 20" Sony Trinitron either through S-video or composite to the powerbook without any success. I got completely distorted picutre. I have tried all the video resolution setting that is available on the Displays reference window with the same result. Does anybody out there run into this problem at all.

I have a 12" PowerBook 1.5ghz and had the same problem with garbled video today. When I plugged in the Mini-DVI > Composite/S-Video adapter the PowerBook would consistently think it was attached to an ordinary VGA monitor, and could not sync with the television. This caused a B&W, warped, split in half picture.
I took the adapter back to the Apple store, plugged it into one of their demo units, and saw it behaved the same way. They gave me a replacement and everything has been fine since.
