Lightning-to-digital-AV-adapter

I am interestd in if i connect the Lightning-to-digital-AV-adapter to a TV Is the subtitles from a film  also displayed on the TV?
I have tried with Airplay but then the subtitles is not transfered, just audio and video.

Yes, the subtitles is shown on the IPAD.
What i have understand there is some limitations ( rights or similar) in Airplay, therefor subtitles are not always transfered when using Airplay. (my problem occured when i am streaming from Viaplay (swedish movie services)
Therefore  am i interested if the digital AV-adapter is solving this problem.

How can I connect my Ipad Air to my PC to see the Ipad screen on the PC?
I have connected them via the Ipad to a LIGHTNING DIGITAL AV ADAPTER-ZML connected to a APPLE HDMI TO HDMI CABLE (1.8 M)-ZML, and to the HDMI port on the PC. But now I don't know how to show the Ipad screen on the PC, as if it was a monitor / screen, so that I can then use Lync and share my PC screen with people virtually.
    Thanks for any help! Regards

Hi Rob - thanks so much for your help!  Could you tell me what "air sever or reflector apps." are? and where can I look for information about them?
Do you use them on the Ipad or on the PC?
Do I need a cable too and which one?
Sorry... I am not very technical as you can see, thanks for your help.

  • Please confirm whether a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter will work with Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter?

Please confirm whether a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter is suppose to work with Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter?
The Packaging of Lightning to 30-pin Adapter suggests it does.
But I have tried this today and my IPad just stated Unsupported accessory.

Expect Lightning extention cables in black shortly. Since extention need no special circuitry 3rd party's are already working on then.

  • 30-pin Digital AV adapter with lightning to 30-pin adapter on iP5S?

Hello, I have an iPhone 5S, and I am trying to use the 30-pin Digital AV adapter (MD098ZM/A) with a lightning-to-30-pin adapter (MD823ZM/A) connected. I want to mirror my iPhones screen onto my monitor but it is not working. I get the "accessory not supported" message on my phone. I can't see why the AV cable wouldn't work for this phone with that adapter since Apple made the adapter... anyone know if this setup just won't work? Maybe the AV cable can't be used with the newer idevices even with the lightning adapters, huh?

I would check when you connect he device for dust or lint. Also if you are using a case that can sometimes prevent a good connection. If these two suggestions don't work I would return it baring someone else's input.

  • Lightning Digital AV Adapter output 5.1 sound problem

    Dear all,
I tried search over web and could not find the actual answer for my issue with Lightning Digital AV Adapter
I bought Lightning Digital AV Adapter that wanted to output movie (with AC3, AAC track ) to my LCD TV via Yamaha Sound Bar YSP 2500.
But I could not get the 5.1 AC3 sound pass through from my iPhone 6 or iPad Air to Yamaha Sound Bar YSP 2500. It did not detect any 5.1 sound.
If anyone know Lightning Digital AV Adapter having hardware limitation to output or pass through 5.1 AC3 . Hope to find some answer in this forum. Thanks.

    Hello abnaji1984,
It sounds like you are able to see the video from your phone on your TV but cannot hear the audio from the phone on your TV. This is expected behaviour, and in the article that you used it shows that the iPod Touch only support video mirroring with the lightning AV adapter:
iOS: About Apple Digital AV Adapters
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,

  • HT4108 I bought 2 Apple Digital AV Adapters "HDMI" (30 pin Digital TV Adapter "for IPad 2" - Lightning Digital AV Adapter "for IPad mini") three days ago.

    Apple Crew ,
I bought 2 Apple Digital AV Adapters “HDMI” (30 pin Digital TV Adapter "for IPad 2" - Lightning Digital AV Adapter "for IPad mini") three days ago.
I’ve used my iPad 2 to connect with Samsung Smart TV via 30 pin Digital AV Adapter “HDMI”,
The iPad 2 instantly connect to the television, but the problem is that the TV displayed screen (mirror) isn't full screen. I tried with every setting on my iPad and also on the television but still no luck and the screen still appear in small size.
I’ve used my iPad mini to connect with Samsung Smart TV via Lightning Digital AV Adapter “HDMI”,
    but also the same problem
I tried connecting with other televisions but the same result
It only works with iPhone with Full Screen!!!!!
I need to solve this issue as I paid almost 95 $ and for the first time I didn’t get the service I need from apple!! (Which I didn’t expect)

  • Apple lightning digital av adapter cable vs apple tv?

    ?

If you are trying to decide between the two here is some input.
The Apple TV is easy to use with the iPad since the connection is wireless. Moreover, the Apple TV provides a lot of functionality on its own. Since the Apple TV cost is $99 which is not that much more than the $49 Digital AV Adapter I'd recommend just getting the Apple TV.

  • Lightning to USB camera adapter.

I recently purchased an IPAD MINI and a Lightning to USB Camera adapter.  I went to plug my Sony Cyber Shot digital camera into my Ipad Mini via the adapter and it says "USB DEVICE REQUIRES TOO MUCH POWER.  Yet, when I plugged in my big Nikon D5000 SLR camera, it works fine.  My problem is, we like to carry around the smaller Sony camera more often, and it wont work with the new adapter.  Any suggestions?

Please try to disable USB charging (if available) on your Sony Cyber Shot or set USB connection type as  [PTP] (Picture Transfer Protocol) or Mass Storage Device.
If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content. If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.
    Good luck!

  • Can i use the lightning to usb camera adapter for sony cybershotdsc-w380

DDoes anyone know how to use a lightning to sub camera adapter for a Sony cyber shot doc-w830

    This discussion may help.
It mostly depends on the camera. Some cameras have a Transfer Mode, which does not attempt to charge while transferring pictures. does yours have such a setting?
Alternatively you can try to plug a powered USB hub between the camera and the USB connector so the power is provided by the HUB rather than the iPad.
Other than that, yes the Memory card reader may be a better option assuming your Camera uses Secure Digital (SD) type memory cards.

  • Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector.

Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector?

The lightning to 30 pin adapter does not support video as per the item description in the Apple online store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.
You will need to the Lightning to VGA adapter directly
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD825ZM/A/lightning-to-vga-adapter?fnode=3a
Or the Lightning Digital AV Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
If the projector supports HDMI input.

  • Can you use an iPhone 5 and the lightning to 30 pin adapter with the Scosche IPNRFCS wireless Car RF remote?

I'd like to use this remote for my iphone 5 in my car to listen to music. The iphone will be plugged  into the stereo and be stowed away but I want a way to change the song because my stereo doesnt allow complete ipod control. Can i use the 30 pin adapter with this remote to hook the wireless adapter for the remote to the iphone? So i guess what im asking is does the lightning to 30 pin adapter support whatever kind of data is going between the iphone and wireless remote adapter? If not are there any good alternatives out there? Thanks!

I am pretty sure that will not work.  Does your TV have HDMI?  You will need this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter?fnode=4 5&fs=m.iphoneCompatibility%3Diphone_5
The adapter your purchased has this note :
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.

  • Can you mirror iphone 4 to macbook pro using 30-pin digital av adapter?

I have an iPhone 4 and I want to be able to mirror my device onto my Macbook Pro, without using the internet. So for example if I was not in a location that had internet, I would still be able to do so. I purchased the 30-pin Digital AV Adapter online only to test it and not get anything on my screen but have iTunes open. Is this because I have an iPhone 4, would this accessory with with an iPhone 4S, or get the lightning adapater to work with the iPhone 5. Does anyone else know of other options that do not involve using internet.

I use the 30 Pin Av Adapter from Apple, and it works on my iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3. So not sure what those reviews would be talking about.
Just to be sure there's no confusion: there's a difference between the 30 Pin Digital AV Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD098ZM/A/apple-digital-av-adapter
And the 30 Pin to Lightning Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter
The 30 pin to Lightning in fact does not support Video output, but if you have a newer iPad. (4 or a Mini) you can use a Lightning Digital Av Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
For older iPads the 30 Pin Digital Av Adapter works just fine, in all iOS versions I've tried it on.  In fact I can use it on a first generation iPad running iOS 4.3.3 to view movies from the Videos App just fine.
All of these will require an HDMi cable and a TV with an HDMI input.  Most recent TV's have this.
The Apple TV will connect to an iPad wirelessly, but is also double the price of the adapters, and still requires the HDMI cable and port on the TV to connect to.
I'd suggest the adapter that fits your iPad over the Apple TV unless you really need to have the connection be wireless from the iPad to the Apple Tv box.
For Apps that don't have Video Output, the only eay to view the is to Mirror the iPads screen, and for that you need an iPad 2 or newer. As the First Generation iPad  cannot do this.

Lightning to 30pin adapter support this configuration?

    Hey JHYODA,
Thanks for the question. The following resources provide an answer to your question:

iOS: About Apple Digital AV Adapters
