Lightroom 1.1 Printing - A Picture Failed to Complete Printing

I tried my first 8 X 10 print, Epson Stylus Photo 870 (which was printing fine under Lightroom 1.0), stopped in the middle of the job and froze the printer.

  • Printer wakes up but never completes print job

Upgraded to Maverick, followed by heaps of problem, scanner doesn't work...great difficulty in getting printer to work in virtual machine. Decided to roll back to earlier OS and reinstalled my fuji zero docuprint cm205 f. Can see the printer listed, and when print job sent to printer, it wakes up but never print. Can anyone help? Thanks

Considering you did not state what version of OS X you insgtalled it's a little tough to help you out. I'd start by using the  Reset Printing System feature

  • Printing square picture. Outside area prints grey, not white

I have been printing from Ap for years, and just noticed a new problem. I'm printing some square photos (cropped from rectangular), and when printed on my Epson 3800 the remainder of the rectangle is grey. This is NOT the case on my Canon 9000 printer, which prints a square pic on a white background. Oddly enough, the Canon has the same problem printing from Photoshop; the Epson prints perfectly from PS. Can anyone explain where there is a setting for the background color outside my cropped image?

Have you tried more than one type of printer? I have seen this happen as a result of the drivers used for a particular printer. Also is the modified color table being passed to the control that's being printed?
Could you post your code (in V6 format) along with one of your pictures?

  • Printing Hungarian characters fails on Zebra Printer

    Hi guys,
we are trying to print hungarian characters like the unicode U+0150 (LATIN CAPITAL LETTER O WITH DOUBLE ACUTE). I have loaded the latest Zebra drivers into our ECC 6.0, loaded the Swiss 721 Font into the printer, but still it doesn't work. Right now I'm a little stuck on the topic, the last thing I have tried was to change the codepage of the printer driver, but even when I use the one that works with our laser printers, the characters aren't printed or they are replaced by other characters in the codepages. Can anyone help us quite fast ;-)?
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Micheal,
we are also facing same problem..
when we raised note to SAP.. this is the response we got..
After consulting with SAP, I found out that our SAP system doesnu2019t support printing Hungarian characters because our SAP system configuration uses CP8000 which is single codepages.  CP8000 doesnu2019t support Latin2 characters. Hungarian is in Latin2 group.
To be able to print Hungarian characters, we need to switch to Unicode system configuration.

  • Trying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.

rying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running?  You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:
    Printer Driver v9.33
Epson Stylus Pro 3880, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:  have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:
How to Reset Photoshop CS6’s Preferences File | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV
    Mac OS
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Mac Acrobat Pro 9.3 can't print : pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13

    Summary
Can't print PDF files from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.2) to Brother MFC-7820N Printer (connected via USB).  Print queue consistently shows "pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13".
    Steps to reproduce
Launch Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2
    Open SimpleOnePageDocument.pdf (attached)
    From File menu select Print
From Print Dialog select Brother MFC-7820N printer
    Click Print Button
    Results
Printing immediately fails.  Print queue shows "pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13" (see attached picture)
    Expected Results
    Document prints
    Things I have tried
Downloading latest drivers from Brother for Snow Leopard (fall 2009 drivers)
System Preferences->Print and Fax->Reset Printing Subsystem
Print->Advanced->Postscript Options->Font and Resource Policy - Greyed out so I could not change from Send by Range to Send for each page
    Notes
I can print PDF files from the Preview application without any problems.
    System Info
    Operating System
Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2
    Product
Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 (installed as part of CS4)
    Printer
    Brother MFC-7820N connected via USB
    Printer Driver
    Brother MFC-7820N CUPS version 1.41

I have exactly the same problem since I changed my Mac for an Intel one (10.6.2 instead of Power PC 10.4).
My printer is a Canon MP610 but this has nothing to do with the printer and it's software. Adobe seems to be completely deaf to this issue which is very annoying as most of the downloaded documents you need to print are pdf nowadays.
I surrounded the issue by copying/pasting the pdf image in a jpeg file... This is very time consuming and I'm still waiting for a proper answer to this bug by Adobe.
Let's continue to write, hoping Adobe will begin to move on the subject...

  • How can I print a picture with a caption and EXIF information?

    Hi,
I want to print a picture and use the caption from the meta data and the information about shutter speed, focal length and so on. I figured out that there is a way to print this information in the print module, but it is attached directly to the image, which does not look good. Question is there another way? Maybe involving Photoshop? I would like to have the flexibility I have with the slide show designer, where I can put caption to the left side of the image and ISO, shutter speed and so on to the right. Is this possible somehow?
I am looking for an easy preset that I could apply to a lot of pictures.
    Thanks!

There's a Lightroom addin called Mogrify that will do this (and a lot more). Just google it. It's something you have to buy but it's not a lot of money.

  • Why can't I print hdr pictures in LR 5?

Is there some reason I can't print HDR pictures in LR 5?

What file format are you coming back in to Lightroom with? I've been doing a lot with Photomatix recently and I've been able to print just fine with a TIF coming back in.
A few things maybe to try...
    1. Is the HDR image "there"? That is, if you exported out of Photomatix and back in to Lightroom and it's in the catalog, but then you (or Photomatix) deleted the actual file, it would show up as a preview, still, but it would say that the original is missing or maybe you only have a smart preview or something. If Lightroom can't find the original image, then I don't think Print or Export or any of the other stuff that requires the original will work.
    2. Try the different file formats (TIF of PSD).
    3. What color space and export settings are you using going to Photomatix? I make sure to set mine to ProPhoto with 16 bit and TIFF with 300 PPI. I am using the Photomatix plug in to export, too. It might be possible that either the way you sent things in to or are getting things out of Photomatix that for some reason there is a setting that is making the resulting file not play nice with Lightroom.

  • Print multiple pictures on one page..so frustrating please help

Just trying to print multiple pictures on a single piece of paper. The drop down menu that says "print multiple pictures on page" is grayed out and wont let me select it. I have read thread after thread , watched tutorial after tutorial and nothing addresses this simple command. What am I missing. Thank you in advance for your help

Select the pictures and type Command+P to bring up the Print window. Then click on the Contact Sheet option at the left. You can change the number of photos per page and their size by clicking on the Customize button and the changing the number of columns on the page. The size of each photo will automatically be scaled to fit.
If you want a specific size, then instead of selecting Contact Sheet select a print size. The size you select will determine how many photos of that size you'll get on the paper size selected.

    Hi ,
The cause of the issue is the standard rdf is set to run for single operating unit. But R12 is a moac setup enable application. Hence The operating unit mode is changed to Single from null in system administration concurrent program setting for the XML report concurrent program.
    This fixed the issue.
