Well, they have addressed a couple of substantial issues, besides the new camera support: the Auto-Write XMP was a real problem as we all know, and the noise reductions issue has caused some real image quality concerns, especially if you can't turn it off, as in an auto on-off switch. Having those two features will win over some unhappy folks!
'Course there is much more work to be done...I'm sure they've been rushing this one due to the 40D release.

The Mac App Store policy is not now nor has it ever been "free upgrades for life."
The Mac apps store policy is that dot point updates are free. Major upgrade releases are paid if the developer so chooses. So if you bought Amazing App 2.0 then all updates, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc., are free. But when amazing App 3.0 comes out, it is a paid app, if the developer wishes to charge for it.

Unbelievable. All it took was one iteration on the Mac App Store and we're back to being forced to buy the hard-to-install-and-likely-to-be-wrought-with-problems-DRM-delight version of the upgrade direct from Adobe?! I wish Adobe would decide on a distribution model and stick with it for the sake of its customers. I'm getting awfully fed up with having to navigate a different way of upgrading the software every time it becomes available. I might not bother this time. Get it right, Adobe. You can no longer assume you have a captive audience.

Lightroom 5 not available on Creative Cloud

I had the Lightroom 5 trial version on my computer and then I bought the Creative Cloud license. After the 30 days trial the software stoped working and then I decided to uninstall and install again, but now only Lightroom 4 is available. So, what comes in Creative Cloud membership, Lightroom 5 or 4?

Yes, it looks like they've screwed up. Some people have been able to update CC to LR6, some people get half way through the download and it fails, some people (me included don't get any option to upgrade to LR6 in the CC app... It's all very annoying. I tried the help chat, and I got "log out of the CC and try again in 2-3 hours". Well, that was half an hour ago, but I'm not holding my breath for getting LR6 today.

Is Lightroom 5 only available in the Cloud now?

I'm trying to upgrade from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5 but can't seem to find the upgrade page at Adobe. Everything sends me to a Creative Cloud subscription which I do not want. Is Lightroom now only available via Creative Cloud? Is there no longer a stand alone desktop application?

Lightroom 4 Images available on in Library Mode

Lightroom 4 Sometimes when uploading a file of pictures, they are only available in the Library...when I try to go to the Develop mode...it says "No Photo Selected" Theres really no rhyme or reason to it happens as I'm sourcing the images the same way. Any help would be appreciated.

Fortunately I had backed up the catalogue earlier in the day and I have the
option set to optimize it after it gets backed up, also the option is set to
check the integrity prior to back up. I'll back it up again since I've made no
changes since recovery from the hang up.
Any suggestions on steps to take the next time this happens to help in
diagnosing the problem as I have lots of metadata work to do?

Good news guys...
I just downloaded LR 2.1 from the following link:

Since it doesn't have the rc extension I assume it is the actual 2.1 version we've been waiting for.
There weren't any problems noticed while installing it. However, I was disappointed to find out that they still haven't added Focal Length as an option to filter and/or create smart collections on! :-(
Oh well, back to LR 2.1 to check it out further.

Eric, it's been a few days since the release of LR 5.3 and ACR 5.3, and I cannot download ACR 5.3 via Help>Updates, as is recommended. LR was able to acknowledge that an update was available within hours of its availability, but my copy of CS4 Extended (as part of Production Premium) hasn't yet.
Is there a delay in providing automatic updates through Help>Updates, or could there be a problem with my copy of CS4 Extended?
I would appreciate any assistance given with this, as I prefer the automatic download process, compared to the additional steps necessary when downloading the installer.

Lightroom 5 not available in CC App Mgr

Purchased a CC Complete membership. Lightroom 5 does not appear as a choice in my CC App Mgr. I currently have Lightroom 4.4. OS is Win7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Why is LR 5 not available to me. Also other apps show Try instead of Install.

Thanks again Jeff for assisting. I am a CC subscriber. However I think I might have figured out the issue. I signed up as a CC Complete subscriber, taking advantage of the $19.99 special for a year to a CC Complete membership since I had purchased Photoshop CS6 last year. But when I check the CC "My Account", it shows me as a Single App (Photoshop) yearly subscriber at $19.99. I should be a CC Complete status not a single app status.
This is why I think Lightroom is not appearing in my CC AAM listing. What is wierd though is that other apps like InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc...do show up and I've downloaded some of them already.
I guess I need to call customer support to get my subscriber status cleared up. Maybe then AAM will show the complete listing.
For others not seeing Lightroom or other apps, check you "My Account" status and make sure you are registered correctly. Especially if you bit on the $19.99 CC Complete for a year hook.

Is Lightroom 6 only available in US and Europe?

I live in Thailand and try to upgrade from Lightroom 5 to the new Lightroom 6. That seems to be impossible when I select South East Asia. Is only the CC subscription available in this part of the world?

Lightroom Knowledgebase not available ?

Tried to get an answer to why my Lightroom continually opens up when I plug in any USB device like a GPS unit that might have an internal drive with images on it - but the Knowledgebase (which I am told has a solution for this) is not available. When I try and acess it - I am kicked out of the Adobe site altogether ? Where is the Lightroom Knowledgebase ??

Did you start with the LR FAQ at the top of the forum? It has answers that are links to the Knowledgebase. Maybe, if your answer is not there, s=at least it will get you to the Knowledgebase.

Lightroom mobile not available in Sweden

I signed up today for a Creative Cloud photography membership and paid in advance for a year. I was really looking forward working with Lightroom mobile on my iPad but it seems it is not available in Swedish App Store.
I am so disappointed, there was nothing in the agreement saying Lightroom mobile not being available in Sweden.
Adobe's Swedish Lightroom site even has a download link for Lightroom Mobile.
Does anyone know what to do?

Click on any of the download links for iPad or iPhone on the page.
You will be connected to App Store and the app can then be downloaded.
This seems to be the only possibility for the moment, it is not searchable in the Swedish App Store.

When will new Lightroom update be available with support for new cameras

Just purchased a fugi XT1. Any idea when new Lightroom update will be available for support for the raw RAF files?
