Lightroom 1.2 flipped images horizontally

I've noticed since my update that several Folders have the images flipped Horizontally. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas for a fix other than manually selecting images in bunches and flipping back. PITA..
On a Intel iMac.

No, mostly from a Nikon D200 and I really don't use Bridge anymore. It only happened recently after the update in files I hadn't gone into before the update, so I'm assuming, though that's a big if with computer stuff, that it happened because of the update. I also don't have mirror enabled. In fact, honestly, I'm not sure what the mirror function is,but I haven't ever used it.

  • Does iPhoto flip images horizontally or is it my camera?

As a Serious stamp collector, I am trying to scan all of my collection into iPhoto.
(Only because there is NO dedicated software for the Stamp Collector).
Problem is that images are flipped (Reversed) horizontally.
Rotate will only turn the image upside down.
I am forced to use (Preview, Photoshop, GraphicsConverter) to correct the pics.
This seems to be a camera problem, as iPhoto and iChat images are FLIPPED.
This fault could be easily fixed by simply adding a FLIP IMAGE BUTTON to iPhoto and iChat.
    My system uses a:
    1 yr old PowerBook 1.67 ghz 12in.
    OS X 10.4.6
    iPhoto v6.04
Sony DCR-HC40 video camera using the Firewire option and from MemoryStick. ( I Haven't tried SONY USB or S-video output)
Now that I wrote this post, I should give SONY a buzz and see what they recommend.
Any Input on this subject is appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You're taking pictures of the stamps for inclusion into iPhoto and they are coming out reversed, right? You're not actually scanning them.
Check all of the menus on the camera to see if there is an option to flip the image. It sounds like there should be one. Are normal photos flipped? Are you using a "macro" mode on the camera? Check those out to see if the answer is in there somewhere.
    Do you Twango?

  • How do you flip image Horizontally

I'm sure I'm looking right at it but can't find out how to flip an image Horz. I see rotate, but not flip.
    thks for help

You can't flip horizontally in iPhoto. What I do is to export to the desktop and then open with the contextual menu item QuickView (you can get it at VersionTracker.com), rotate and save, and then import back into iPhoto. If you have a different 3rd party application that have flip images you could do that, even using it from within iPhoto by setting it up as your editor of choice for that particular item.
    Do you Twango?

  • Flipping images horizontally?

I am currently using iPhoto '08 but am about to upgrade to iPhoto '09. I have a number of images that were scanned from old slides. In some cases the slides were scanned in reverse (it's only obvious in some cases where there is a sign or other text in a photo).
Does iPhoto '09 have the capability to flip an image horizontally? If not, can you recommend a lightweight image editor that would do this? I think I was previously using something called "Acorn" but to be honest it's been quite a while since I've done any image editing.
    Thanks!

iPhoto doesn't have this capability but Preview on your Mac does.

Bridge is categorically NOT "editing software".  It's just a file browser, no more and no less.  Period.
Bridge does not "edit" anything.  Bridge doesn't even open anything.  It just hands files to the appropriate application, whether this be Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, or even Microsoft Word.
No, there will most likely never be "an update" for this.

  • Need Advice: Which Camera 4 Capturing HDTV & Flipping Monitor Horizontally

I have CS4 Premiere and need to buy an HDTV camera and have questions how to achieve the following:
    1) Capture hours of continous video direct to PC hard drive without stopping.
    2) Display in real time a monitor image with the video flipped horizontally on a consumer LCD HDTV, so the monitor image is reversed as if you were viewing yourself in a mirror (we're recording a makeup artist who is applying makeup to a woman and needs his monitor to reflect a mirror-like image)
Any idea how to flip a monitor signal horizontally? I know how to do this in post production, but I need to do it on the realtime monitor feed from the camera.
Your recommendations for HDTV camera that works well with CS4, probably feeding a USB-2.0 signal to the PC.
    Jonathan in Atlanta

I've learned that Adobe OnLocation when capturing video has a setting to flip video horizontally in the monitor display, so that would be a solution. (Few LCD consumer TVs have any ability to flip in hardware, except for Sharp LCD's which seem to have a mirror command, or professional video monitors which often can flip.)
My nagging problem now is apparently OnLocation cannot capture video from the newer HD consumer cameras which only have USB 2.0 and HDMI outputs, whereas OnLocation CS4 at this moment appears to only support 1394 firewire. New cameras no longer have 1394 outputs, the trend is to USB 2.0

  • Flipping images in Aperture

Is there a way to flip images like you can in Photoshop? I want to be able to flip certain images horizontally and vertically, but it doesn't appear that Aperture offers this function. I have been doing it with the external image editor, which I have set to Photoshop, but I would rather not do it that way since the newly saved image is a huge tiff file. Does anyone know if and how you can flip images?

Go the adjustment hud or the inspector add a flip adjustment from the + menu.

  • Mirror or flip image

Has anybody found a way within Aperture 2.0 to do what Photoshop calls "Flip Canvas Horizontal / Vertical"? (In Photoshop: >Image>Rotate Canvas>Flip Canvas) Is it possible that this feature is not built in to Aperture? This is an essential image evaluation tool I always use on the first run through a set of images; if you've never used it, try it out (in Photoshop). Aperture 2, are you reading this? Is there any difficulty adding Flip? I am really liking native RAW on my MacBook Pro, and I'm ready to dump Photoshop, but I need this feature!! Please let me know soon.

I don't think you can "flip" an image in Aperture - If I am wrong, someone please tell me
I would recommend against dumping PS - I don't like it either, but there are some things I occasionally need it for (like flipping an image

  • Flip Image w/ Text

    Hello,
Is there a way to flip an image horizontally and keep the text from reading backwards?  I have an image with the word 'Enter' on the right side of the image. I want to flip the image so that the word is on the left side. However everytime I flip the image (regardless of where my reference point is) the word winds up in the lower left corner and written backwards.
I'm using CS4 Photoshop on Win XP.
    Many thanks.

OK, it is not on a Text Layer then. Can you separate it to another Layer. How is the image constructed? I do not recall seeing an attached image. If you have one, please let us take a look at it. There might be some way that you can get what you want.
    Good luck,

  • Flipped Image

When I run the isight camera in xp via bootcamp by double clicking the isight icon under my computer a screen pops up allowing me to take pictures with it. However, the image is flipped horizontally meaning when I move to the left I can see the image of myself moving to the right. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

Nope, printing to a PDF "unflips" the image. And I get the same behavior printing to both my Epson photo printer and a Samsung laser printer. Not a huge deal, if I un-rotate the image and print, it prints flipped. Tried it with a recent digital (not scanned) image and got the same behavior. I discovered the "problem" after scanning a B&W negative taken back in 1973. I use an Epson V600 scanner and normally flip and rotate as part of the scanning process; however the scanner had problems determining the edges of the 35mm frame since it is a picture of a window surrounded in black. I had to resort to using the marquee and manually selecting the frame to scan. Doing so doesn't allow you to flip and rotate during the scan, so you have to do that in Aperture.
Again, not a big deal as long as I know how to manage it. And I rarely flip images - only in the type of situation noted above. I almost would not have noticed it, except that I was comparing the inkjet print to a silver print I made of the negative back in the '70's.
Thanks for all the suggestions to try and narrow this down, but I am perplexed that you do not seem to get the same behavior.

  • How do I get a recordset to display three images horizontally?

    Hi,
    I'm using DWCS3 with MAMP.
I want to display three images horizontally in a recordset. I have downloaded Tom Muck's extension horizontal looper and followed the instructions.
However when I tried to add the recordset navigation bar I ran into some problems.
If I add a repeat region to Tom Muck's extension then the page doesn't load.
If I don't add a repeat region to Tom's extension everything works really well except only one image displays rather than three.
Here is all of my code for the page.

Use [Dr%] Variable formula as =if(IsNull([Dr%]);0;[DR%])
Here IsNull returns the Boolean value of variable [Dr%] if its true then inserts 0 else the percentage values of failed tests based on the  total number of assembly tests performed.
I Hope this is what you want to achieve....

I am using Lightroom 5 and am hapy about it, but recently I hav encountered a problem when trying to edit an image in another program, i.e. Elements. I used the clone tool, saved the result and went back to Lightroom to open the image there. I did find a second copy, but this is identic with the one I already had in Lightroom, and I can see noe result of the clone process.

At the moment I would say it is uncertain whether Acrobat is completely ignoring the change, or whether the changes you are making aren't affecting the ink density. I have a suggestion for a test you could make to see which is the case.
When editing in Photoshop just add a box or mark on the image, for your tests.
    - If this box does not appear in Acrobat, you know Acrobat is not seeing the edit
    - If this box does appear in Acrobat, you know the problem is that your tool for changing ink densities is not taking effect.

  • After importing an image from cs5 back into lightroom, lightroom is making the image darker

Lightroom is making my images darker after i edit them in photoshop cs5 and I dont know why. When i open the image back into photoshop it looks fine. Even when i save it as a jpeg lightroom is making the image darker. When i imported the raw image into lightroom before i edited into photoshop it looked fine. Is there a way to fix lightroom?

  • Lightroom Doesn't See Images on SD Card

    Hi
Just come back from a photo trip and tried to import my images into Lightroom from my SD Card and Lightroom doesn't see them, all it see's are the images I took on Saturday.
Today I arrived at my location to photograph Pasque Flowers, I took 1 image then realised I hadn't deleted the images from Saturday so I used the 'Delete Images From Card' in my camera's menu and then proceeded to take a few hundred images. During the day I reviewed my images several times, so I know they were definitely saved to the SD Card.
When I got home I tried to import my images in to Lightroom and all Lightroom saw on the card were the images I took last Saturday.
I tried closing down Lightroom and opening it again - nothing, just the images from Saturday!
I tried using the SD Card reader on my iMac - again, just Saturday's images were found.
I then put my card back into my camera and all I could see were my Pasque flower images from today.
So it seems my camera see's todays images yet Lightroom only sees the images from Saturday I had deleted via my camera's menu at the start of today.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Brett
    Things have moved on today.
I have a long conversation with Canon and finally got the images off my camera by connecting it directly to my iMac and using Canon's EOS Utility to download the images. The EOS Utility saw both yesterdays images and the ones taken last Saturday.
I have to say it took several attempts to finally get all the images off the card and a similar number of attempts to get Lightroom to import them - but it has been achieved.
Interestingly the chap at Canon said that they (Canon) believe there is a problem with Lightroom's Library (not quite sure how I go about proving that). Anyway I have tried formatting the offending SD Card and none of the images are deleted which leads me to suspect, as you do that it might be a faulty SD card.
All the relevent serial numbers, invoice and photographs have been sent to Sandisk and I await their reply. Thankfully I purchased the card through Amazon UK who are the official retailer for Sandisk, so hopefully I should get my card replaced IF it is found to be faulty.
