Lightroom 2.0 - Not Responding - Catalog Corrupt (HELP!)

Macpro 2 x 3ghz quadcore, 8Gb Ram, OSX 10.5.4, Kernel:Darwin 9.4.0
In develop LR 2 froze, after kill catalog seems corrupt.
Lost 10 hours work!!$%^%^@
I keep getting the error message:
"An error occurred while attempting to change modules" when trying to change between modules.
After going back to last backup I notice that changes using brush, etc are missing. So I presume the brush changes are stored externally not in the xmp files despite my prefs being set to write changes to xmp automatically.
Any suggestions how I can get my changes back?
(BTW it is very slow using the brush, though useful.)

Yes that worked.
But the setup seems strange. I now I have to try and remember every image I changed. Some of the images after the I restored the last catlog showed the changes and some do not.
Before reading from the xmp data as you suggest I reedited some images so now will both lots of edits be on top of each other?
I noticed that before I did the metadata read from xmp that the images in LR2 did not reflect the changes but when I used command-E to edit in an PS the changes are reflected in the new image that comes up in PS.

Try force quiting the app. From the users guide:
Force quit an app: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until a red slider appears, then press and hold the Home button until the app quits.
You can also remove an app from the recents list to force it to quit. See “Opening and
Switching Apps” on page 23.

Lightroom CC sync not responding

Hi all
Just upgraded to lightroom 6 CC and when i try syncing a few photos it is not responding. I have made sure all things are checked in the boxes and have logged out of CC shut down and started up again etc.... getting frustrated

Have you installed the Lr Mobile app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone and logged into the app with your Adobe id? Are your photos to be synced in a collection in Lr CC?

I have started using Roboform Lite 2.0.0, after Roboform it takes to much time to open Firefox and when i open a new tab, until the tab is fully loaded, Firefox is not responding. Please help.

After installing Roboform 2.0.0;
Starting Firefox started to take too much time.
When i open a new tab, until the tab is fully loaded and Roboform realizes which website it is, Firefox does not respond.
When i tell Roboform to fill the username and password fields in a tab, until Roboform submits Firefox does not respond.
I mean, as if Roboform is not working background and Firefox cannot work multithread because of it. When i navigate from one tab to another, Roboform is also checking the tab and meanwhile Firefox is waiting for Roboform to finish its work.
Please help me about this problem.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Firefox is constantly crashing when I am in the Pogo Games app - it even crashed when I was on live c hat with a Pogo helper - this is SO frustrating - all I see lately is the (not responding) message - please help!!!!

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). Lightroom 2.7 not responding

I use Windows 7 - 64 bit OS and Lightroom 2.7. Frequently, when I'm on develop module, I get a message (on title bar in parenthesis) "not responding", which is usually followed by flickering of screen and sometimes screen gets frozen. Any suggestions as to how to address this problem?

Sounds like the OS has detected that the application is no longer being a good neighbour, and is cycling hard. The key is finding out what Lr is doing in these cases. Unfortunately, there is no easy way for mortals to get a thread/stack dump on Windows.
Is it cycling hard on memory (is virtual memory being hit)? Is the CPU pegged?

I am a new Mac user and I have a new Macbook Air.
Currently, I have about 30 folders opened up on my screen. Finder is not responding and there is a multi-color disc in place of my pointer. Even when I try and press the power button, the shut down screen comes on, I press shut down, but it does not power down. When I enter my password, the folders pop right back up. Can anyone help me?

Try holding the Option+Command+escape (esc) keys at the same time to bring up the Force Quit Applications window. Select Finder/Relaunch and see if that helps.

Well basically, i bought an iPhone4 about 6 months ago and i i didnt realise it had a screen issue, i took it to a local mobile store and had the screen and digitzer replaced! 2 months later same issue.. the screen just stops responding to my touch..if i press the home button it still works but the touch is still not responded to.. and if i lock the phone after a few times of continuous clicking of the lock button it finally responds to touch only for a while..
what should i do? whats the problem? what can i do? how should i do it? i need help.. thank you in advance!

Since you had a 3rd party open your phone, Apple will not assist you further. I suggest you bring it back to your "local mobile store" and have them check it out.

RE: Icons/Applications not responding, possible corruption in HDD

Hi, I'm having several problems with my sidebar and a few applications related to icons on the sidebar.
I recently tried to access my system preferences and i'm finding that when i click on the icon on the sidebar it does not respond, i have the same problem with Adobe Bridge, Toast Titanium and Front Row.
With regards to sys pref, i cannot even find the application in the master hdd folder window, this is causing me some concern as i purchased my macbook via a student deal and most of the software minus the audio programs <Logic Express, Reason 4 and Pro Tools 8> Disc Burning <Toast Titanium> and Media <Adobe CS4> all of which are legitimate versions purchased direct from the suppliers, were pre-installed.
My question is twofold.
If i have to do a re-install of 0sX and i do not have the physical copy of the software disc, will my apple care package extend to a free re-install? I paid for the 5 year package <to my knowledge> so i am hoping that this could be the case.
If i need to re-install the individual SW how can i ensure that the problem does not occur again. As i need to use Toast on a frequent basis and sys pref to change certain settings i would like to be sure that this won't happen again during a session or ever again.
While i'm asking questions i may as well ask if there is anyway to pinpoint where the problem lies, after growing up on speccing and programming PC based systems the transition to Apple has been quite pleasant although i need to troll through the OSX troubleshooting forums to understand how i might be able to open the system portal to run some debugging programs. If anyone can point me to the right area of the forums and perhaps suggest some debug programs for OSX it would be appreciated.

You don't say who your student deal was with. When Apple preloads optional software on a new system, it provides disks so the software can be reloaded. You should have the original OS X disks for your system, plus disks for any installed software. Applecare is a 2 year extended warranty on top of the standard 1 year warranty, for a total of 3 years, same in Australia as the US. If you think you have 5 years of coverage, you should find documentation to support that, and read the terms and conditions.
On the original OS X disks that should have come with your system, there is an Apple Hardware Test which is a good tool for testing the hardware. In the US, Apple provides TechTool Deluxe with the Applecare agreement - don't know if they also do that in Australia. TechTool Pro is another tool, more powerful than TechTool Deluxe, to examine your system.
You can run some preventative maintenance too. I use OnyX periodically to keep disk files in good shape. It's available from http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english/apps.html
