Lightroom 2.2 - Canon 5D Mark II

When I try to import photos direct from Canon 5D Mark 2 the previews are not visible - blanked out. However if I download to hard dr
ive first and then try to import the previews show normally on the import dialogue.
Now I find version 2.2 will not recognise 5D - worked perfectly with version 1.4
When I reinstalled Lightroom 2.2, I now have addition issues:
I now notice that I cannot rename files without the renaming process stopping part through the renaming process.
Wrong previews show against the selected file in library.
Cannot drag and drop photos between files.
Any clue guys what could be wrong?

Dave- O/S? Reinstalling isn't that common for Macs; often when a reinstall is indicated on Windows, deleting Prefs onna Mac is the thing. Not always, of course.

  • Lightroom 3, CS5 & Canon 5D Mark III Issues

I have read the product support and am I right in understanding the you need camera raw 7 to import RAW files into Lightroom with the Canon 5D Mark III?  And that this is not supported with CS5?  I am unable to import RAW files into Lightroom 3.  I use a Mac OSX platform.  Please help...

You need ACR 7.1 or LR 4.1 to open 5D M3 raws...either that or download the free DNG Converter 7.1 and convert to DNG so LR 3.x will read them.

  • Lightroom and the Canon 5D Mark II

Does Lightroom V2 support the Canon 5D Mark II?

Support was introduced in LR 2.2 (ACR 5.2) and refined in LR 2.3 RC so you should be running the latest version.

  • Canon 5d mark III  tethered to Lightroom 4

Any info on when canon 5d mark III will be able to worked tethered in Lightroom 4

You know Adobe needs to give money to the camera manufactures so they can have access to a special SDK's that allows ADOBE to develop software that the manufacturers are not willing to develop themselves. The ability to tether in Lightroom with my 5dMKIII is just one of the features that I am missing out on. I have a cobbled workaround, but it is lame. Capture one can tether a 5d mkIII but they have some weird stipulations, for example they cannot bring a Raw M or Raw S file into the application. The Canon SDK for the new gen of Cameras is really a tough nut to crack, so it seems. Speaking to Julieanne Kost in person she say the tethering option is not available and she does not know when it will be available. She didn't give me specifics, she did say if more customers complain about not having the feature that the Lightroom team would make it a priority. So Here goes, Dear Lightroom Team Please get your stuff together and make tethering in Lightroom 4 a top Priority!

  • I have a new canon d7 mark ii and I can not get the raw picture to download in lightroom 6.  Lightroom says it does not recognize the raw format.  Is there a solution?

Lightroom 6 will not open raw files from my new canon d7 mark II camera.  The program says "The files are not recognized by the raw format supported in Lightroom.  The Lightroom 6 is up to date.  Is there a quick fix to this issue?

  • Canon 5D Mark II, Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom 2.4

    All,
I know that this has to have been answered elsewhere, but I have not found what I'm looking for.
I have purchased a new Canon 5D Mark II camera which will arrive Wednesday.  As far as software on my Mac Pro, I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, which includes (obviously) Photoshop CS3.  I am also running Lightroom 2.4.  I am under the understanding that in order to open RAW files from the 5D Mark II, you need to have Adobe Camera Raw 5.X, which is not supported by Photoshop CS3.  I also understand that Lightroom 2.4 CAN open the 5D Mark II RAW files.  First off, are both of my statements to this point accurate?  If so, can I use Lightroom to open the RAW files, do whatever adjusting I would like in Lightroom, then export the modified file (in TIFF, for example) to Photoshop CS3, and go on my way?  Or will this not work?
If the answer is no, what are my options for using the software that I have with my Canon 5D Mark II?  Am I REQUIRED, now, to upgrade to Photoshop CS4?  If so, can I buy the CS4 Upgrade for Design Premium, if my CS3 Design Premium is the Education version?
Thanks for any help on this...I'm hoping to avoid spending any more money than I need to in software just to be able to process images from my new camera.  I'm sure I could always use the Canon supplied software to open the RAW files, but I'd prefer to do so in the Adobe family of programs.

    cabasner,
I upgraded to CS4 when I got my 5D2, and I can't stress enough how much better CS4 is. It's worth the upgrade even if you didn't get the 5D2. It's more stable that CS3, and ACR is insanely better (as is the Bridge... that's actually usable now!). ACR in CS4 has Adjustment brushes for Exposure... that's right, touch-up areas in ACR and it's totally non-destructive. Vibrance has been added also. In PS, your Dodge & Burn tools have a totally new algorithm which works so much better it's nuts. You even have a Legacy checkbox to see the difference. With the insane amount of image data in the 5D2, those tools work very well. You also have OpenGL support in CS4 now, which means you can view the image at any percentage and it looks like 25/50/75/100. And since your graphics card is now used, Photoshop CS4 is FASTER. And with the Clone Tool you can see what will be put down on the image inside the tool's circle, BEFORE you press the mouse. Talk about an easy way to line up the edit! Oh, then there's all the Adjustment layers... man, talk about a non-destructive time-saving edit! And the panels now stay off to the side, not covering up the image anymore. There's more, I'm, not even remembering everything. Adobe got PS right with this version. I would spring for CS4 in a New York minute, it's the perfect partner for our 5D2s.

  • How do I use lightroom with a Canon EOS 7d mark ii

I use Lightroom for everything and love it.  It is fantastic with all of my Canon cameras.   However, I just bought the new Canon 7D mark ii and Lightroom doesn't read the raw files.   I don't see Adobe having any updates for the new Raw file.   In their defense I couldn't find the new camera on the Canon website to register it.   Any solutions.

    Hi,
This pic will demonstrate why we wait for Lightroom or other RAW Processors to provide camera support. In fact things like Topaz products as well as PPS 9 will open RAW files but nothing except true RAW processors provide the conversions and lens corrections we strive for. And that will come after the camera is released and in the case of the 7D Mark II it was released after a ACR RC came out but Adobe have said they are still working on getting the 7D Mk II support in the production release of that update.
As for Perfect Photo Suite being a Lightroom replacement ... the Browse Preview and the Layers Converted says it all ...
I have had to wait for two updates to Camera RAW to support cameras I have bought and I am glad that Adobe had the sense to wait for the release and the production RAW before releasing camera RAW support ... and then Canon still managed to stuff the 7D with errors in the RAW files that had to be fixed by firmware updates ... rotation was one issue. All I do as an interim is use the camera manufacturers RAW converter to batch convert (with lens correction) to TIF and use that as a temporary solution until the RAW support comes.

  • Camera Raw CC and CS6 and Lightroom 5 Support for Canon SX60 Canon 7D Mark II

I have just bought my wife Canon SX60 and loaded pictures into Bridge and saw that Camera Raw does not recognize Canon SX60 CR2s. I checked the supported cameras and saw SX60 is not in the list. I will be purchasing a Canon 7D Mark II on Tuesday and see that it is also not supported. I saw in a forum post that the 7D is not in the current Camera 8.7 but will be part of the Camera Raw 8.7 "production release". I currently have Photoshop CC, Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 will both cameras be supported in the next "production version" of Camera Raw and Lightroom 5 and when is it scheduled for release (I saw some thoughts that it would be by the end of year but was hopefully we can get a more definitive date).
    Thanks

It has been indicated that both of those cameras will be supported in the final release of Camera Raw 8.7. But there is no announced release date. There never is. I assume it will be before December 31. But that is only my guess based on the fact that the release candidate expires then.

  • Canon 5D Mark III -- Lightroom 4.1 - Edit in Adobe Photoshop not working

Hello, I appoligize if this has already been answered, I couldn't find a solution.  I have the new Canon 5D Mark III, and I updated to Lightroom 4.1 so I can import the 5D3 RAW image into LR.  But when I go to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5" or "Merge to HDR Pro in PhotoShop", PS starts, but it doesn't load any files. I was assuming this is because the PS Camera Raw is out of date. So I downloaded the cameraraw6-7_r1_win_030612, but when try to install it, I get "Some updates failed to install. Update is not applicable".
    What am I missing here?

    Hi Tim,
Please refer to the link below which says:

  • Any idea when Lightroom 4 will have support for the new Canon 5D Mark III?

I have a new Canon 5D Mark III.  When can we expect support for this camera in Lightroom 4?

It's already in the DNG converter that's posted along with ACR 6.7 Beta.  That indicates probably the next version.

I need Camera RAW support for Lightroom 4.4 and Canon 7D Mark ii.  Is there a Camera RAW version for me?

Thanks for your help.  I checked out DNG on YouTube and understand more
about it.  I downloaded the DNG converter and transferred in files from my
camera.  Then I imported into Lightroom.  It works!   Thanks again.

  • I have Lightroom 3.6 and it does not recognize the raw images from my Canon 7d mark II, suggestions?

I have Lightroom 3.6 and it does not recognize the raw images from my canon 7d mark II, suggestions, do I need to upgrade?

Yes, you need an upgrade for native support in Lightroom. You need version 5.70 or higher; current version is 5.71.
Alternatively, you could use the most recent DNG converter and convert the raw files to DNG files before importing into Lightroom.

  • Lightroom 4.2 will not import from Canon 5D Mark III

When trying to import photos from my Canon 5D Mark III into Lightroom 4.2, the import usually freezes up at some arbitrary point.  It will either crash lightroom altogether, or it will have a message saying "could not import all files, files could not be read."  (something along those lines.)
I am using a 1 year old iMac with a 1 TB HD.  I import directly onto that hard drive.  Lightroom has never had an issue importing.  My previous camera was a Canon EOS T1i.  The problems started when I purchased my 5D Mark III.  Images from my T1i, in fact, still import fine with no issues.  I am running OS X version 10.7.5.  My compact flash card is brand new, a Lexar 1000x.  This question/issue may have been answered elsewhere, and if so I apologize, for i could not locate it.  I have seen some suggesting it may be a hard drive issue, however, the evidence points to the 5D Mark III not playing well with LR 4.2.  (T1i images still import fine.)

Here's a post concerning 5D MKIII file corruption, which may also be due to a camera malfucntion. Yes, there could be something wrong with your camera.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4882852#4882852
    SUGGESTION:
Install the Canon EOS Utility that came with your camera. Also check for an updated version of the EOS Utility after the install. You need to install from the CD first before you can install any updates.
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_5d_mark_iii#Driver sAndSoftware
If the EOS Utility can download the CR2 files to your hard drive, then your camera is not defective.
