LightRoom 2.3 Hangs Randomly in Develope Module
I'm running Windows XP with patching up to date. At random intervals in the Develop module when I click on something, nothing happens. The next time I click on something I get an hour glass that never goes away. Hard disk activity starts and then subsides after a few minutes, but the window cannot be closed without rebooting. System will not shutdown as LightRoom is not killable at that point. I usually have to reboot the system at that point using the power button to turn it off and then let it start up again. The file system is left in a clean state as the first few dozen times I performed a chkdsk after it and didn't get any errors.
Has occurred with JPG files from my 20D and 50D Canon cameras.

Lightroom closes after I open the development module

I downloaded Speedfan and discovered that the graphics card is indeed under some stress at the time of the crashes.
I've also found out that if I close all running programs, it causes less heat so doesn't crash and close.
When I come to upgrading this pc, I'll definitely be making sure a better cooling system is on the list lol.

Does anyone know how to reactivate the develop module in Lightroom 5- I've just reinstalled it, restarted computer, signed in but keep getting the message - Develop module is disabled - Renew membership - although my CC membership is all up to date. Lightroom 5: Basic panel missing in Develop module
I have installed lightroom 5 (upgrade from lightroom 3) on my MacBookPro. Everything seems to work perfectly, except that "Basic" in the Development model does no longer appear in Lightroom 5. I believe that "Basic" was there in the first place. Can anyone help me to get it back. I have reinstalled the upgrade version of Lightroom 5, but this does not help.

Lightroom 4.3 moving slow in Develop module
After i updated from LR4 to LR4.3 ,,, i have been using LR 4.3 for a couple hrs now only to find out i am having same issues as before:
1) when i select an image in the film strips, it shows it in Navigation panel but takes forever to change in my develop/ working photo window
2) If i do Edits like brush strokes,, same issue LR takes forever to update my Edits.

I had a purchased an upgrade to lightroom 5 back in Dec and last week it disabled my use of develop module saying my trial has expired. On my account it says I purchased the upgrade and have a serial number. It is not giving me an option to enter serial number anywhere.

Inactivation develop module lightroom5
Having purchased and downloaded Adobe Lightroom5(Mac) which was working very well, I registered on creative cloud to find out more about it. I then found the Develop module of Lightroom was disabled with a message
PLease renew your membership to reactivate the Develop module.
I do not want to pay a subscription when I have bought the lightroom5 program independantly.

It has been working fine but it suddenly says that develop module has been disabled. I have looked for solutions on the internet and could not find the SLS cache or SLS store folders where they were supposed to be. It asks for the licence number every time I log in so it might be to do with that. I have uninstalled and re-installed but this made no difference. I don't understand what the problem is and not having the files I mentioned means that I can't find a solution. I also had a look at where the registration document should be and there isn't one. I think files are missing that shouldn't be but have no idea how to change that. I'm working on Windows 8 PC.
Your statements contradict one-another. Did you subscribe with an annual program or did you buy a boxed/downloaded product?

Lightroom 3.3 hangs in develop module.
Hi,
I've been a long-time user of lightroom. I've recently replaced my graphics card (from 9500GT to 450GTS) and I'm starting to see quite frequent apphangs. I never saw these before the change in graphics card, but I did change it a couple of weeks ago and I only started seeing these crashes on 31/3. Having said that, I haven't used LR for a few weeks, so this still might be consistent. As far as I can tell, it only happens when LR is in the develop module and most of the time it's when LR is loading an image, the spinning disk freezes and the program hangs requiring a kill/reboot. I've also seen it today with a sharpen operation though. The hang is random - I can do exactly the same sequence of operations on the reboot and they work fine. The symptoms are very similar to the ones a lot of people reported a few years ago with LR 2 although thge suggested fix there (switch to develop->quit->restart) doesn't seem to improve stability. I have the latest Nvidia drivers, and the machine is rock solid apart from this problem. I've tried LR 3.4 beta and that still exhibits the problem.
Anyone else seen this? Anyone know of any workarounds - it's pretty frustrating - it can be anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes before it happens?

OK, so now I'm confused... I have removed the profiles for the monitors (one for each) and now use the manufacturer supplied one and haven't been able to get a crash since yesterday when I did the change. I'm not 100% confident the bug has gone, but it's passed my "it should happen by now" criteria. I'm wondering if the size of the .icc profiles could have an influence. When I calibrate my monitors, I always do a full calibration which stores the data as a full LUT iccview.de lists it as:

This seems to be a new issue that has developed over the past few days. I have been using Lightroom for multiple years without too many issues. Within the last 90 days I have upgraded to Lightroom 5. Today, upon loading up Lightroom (either 3.6 or 5.2) they both crash upon switching over to the develop module. I have upgraded 5.2 to 5.4, uninstalled 3.6, restarted my computer; still crashes with error message: "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Which upon clicking "Close Program" it simply closes the program. Any ideas as to why this is happening and a possible fix? This is greatly impacting workflow. Following is a copy of my System info from Lightroom.

Lightroom 2.2 Develop Module Lockup Problems
I have a Windows XP SP2 system with the following specs:
AMD 64 X2 4400+ processor
2GB of Ram

Norton Internet Security 2009 with Lightroom, cache and image file types excluded from scans
The problem that I am experiencing is as follows:
When I am editing an image in the develop module, the Lightroom application will randomly freeze. When the application freezes, the title bar of the Lightroom application window will revert to the blue bar that is the default for the active window within Windows and the cursor symbol will switch to the hourglass and the Lightroom will be completely unresponsive. Sometimes, the problem will clear itself in 30 60 seconds time and the program will become operational again. But, on other occasions it will remain completely locked up and will require a forced shutdown and restart of Lightroom using Control-Alt-Delete.
This problem started with Lightroom 2.0 but occurred infrequently. With Lightroom 2.1 and 2.2, the lockups occur much more often. Also, I have had one instance where the computer completely locked and I had to do a forced shutdown of the entire computer with the power button. When I attempted to restart Lightroom, it complained about not being able to read the database and shut itself down. I started the application again and it came up but appeared to have reverted to an older database backup as I lost all of the edits that I had made during this working session.
I havent been able to determine any specific task that triggers the lock up but I am using the develop module and am doing tasks like selecting another image on the filmstrip, making an adjustment or selecting another tab in the develop pane.
I have updated my nVidia driver to the latest released version as I thought that this might help but I didnt see any changes following the update.
This problem never occurred with Lightroom versions 1.x and my system is very stable otherwise. I treated the temporary lockups as an annoyance but having the database not be readable after the forced shut down of the computer is extremely concerning to me.
I love the idea of Lightroom and plan to stay with it but I need help in resolving this issues. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Except I moved images to sub-folders and renamed them, from within Lightroom.
After it locked up, it did not show sub-folders in Library and all the images have question marks on them. If I show it where the file is in Explorer, it does not show any changes.
I Imported one folder and it could see the images in the folder.
Some were without any changes.
Some were the final edited configuration, but not change history shows in Develop. It is if it kept an Exported fersion.

LR2 hang in develop module with graduated filter
I was in the Develop module and had just used the graduated filter to draw up from the bottom of the image. When I let go of the pen, the hourglass appeared and LR stopped responding. Many minutes later, I finally gave up and clicked on the window's close button. I got the usual Windows "app is not responding" dialog and told Windows to kill lightroom.
While LR was in the hung state, I started Procmon to see if anything interesting was visible there. While I saw no activity in lightroom.exe, I did see an endless series of operations in csrss.exe. These two operations were repeated endlessly:

After killing lightroom, I no longer saw that pair of operations.
I have no idea whether this could be related to the lightroom hang or not, but thought I would pass it on in case it provided a clue.
Running Windows XP SP2 with all updates (except SP3) applied, nVidia 7600 GT, E6700 Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM (3.2 GB available), plentiful hard drive space free. Catalog is new with LR2 by re-importing all images; catalog was not converted from 1.4.1.I'm having the same issue with graduated filter and adjustment brush and also one othe the predefined settings, I forgto which one, but it would lock up LR ervery time.
