Lightroom 2.5 startup Vista

I also have the same problem as liquidsoftware for LR2.5 but I have Windows Vista. I installed the Cd and it worked fine. Only after the updates 2.4 & 2.5 the problems started.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks

For Vista, it's the file located at:
C:\Users\[Username]f\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Lightroom 2.0 Registration.lrreg
that's probably corrupt. You can delete it and a new one will be created, and then your registration should stick.
For the registration problem on Macs, the file is on this path:
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Lightroom 2 Registration file.

  • Problems printing smaller sizes in Lightroom 1.4 Windows Vista-64bit, R800

    Hi All,
I am having problems printing smaller sizes in Lightroom v1.4, WIndows Vista-64 bit, on an Epson R800 (driver version 6.5cAs, the latest one) . When I try to set the printer settings in both the page set up and the printer setup, it displays as 5X7, but somehow when it actually goes to print, the print dialogue box reverts back to 8.5 X11. I can print 5X7 in CS3 with no problems on the same machine. The prints coming from light room look ok, they are just the wrong size for the page. Some how it appears that lightroom is not able to change the printing size defaults from 8.5X11. The prints in lightroom are fine as long as I use 8.5X11 or print in CS3. Any help to fix this would be great.

make sure your ventilation ducts are clean from dirt, Vista put lot more strain on every component of your laptop, so the temperature increase should be normal. Xp is lot less demanding on computer compoents, however it does sound like your heat ventilation fan and fins are clogged with dusts. So open up the laptop to clean away any dusts that maybe there.

  • I missed the system requirments for lightroom 5, i have vista, do i get a refund or can i download lightroom 4 and ps 4?

i missed the system requirments for lightroom 5, i have vista, do i get a refund or can i download lightroom 4 and ps 4?

You can download LR4 from Adobe but you will need a serial number for V4 as the serial number for V5 will not work.
If you are still on Vista you really should look at upgrading to Windows 8 64bit as you will experience similar problems with other software.  Vista was released in Jan 2007 which is 7 years ago, a long time in computer terms and was never very popular.  Its current share of the windows OS is around 3% and going down so not much incentive for developing specific software support.

  • How can I install lightroom 5 into windows vista?

I can download it with Adobe Application manager, but when I am doing an installation, it says me that there is error!!!
Help me please, how i can istall lightroom into my laptop, i have windows vista business (service pack 2).
    Thank you very much!

"Windows Vista is not an officially supported operating system for the release version of Lightroom 5, and it doesn't run on Windows Vista."
Lightroom 5 requires Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Unofficial workarounds exist online to get Lightroom 5 running on Vista but try them at your own risk. There will be no support if anything goes wrong.

It is happening on both of my Retina MacBook Pros.

  • Trying my hardest to download lightroom with no luck no matter what i update. Will Lightroom 5 run on Vista?

I currently have Windows Vista. I know its an old system but bare with me. I am trying to download the trial of lightroom to see if its what im looking for as I dont want to spend the money but be let down. Every time i try it says i am running an operation system thats no longer supported by Adobe. These are my computer specs.Windows vista home premium 2007.
    Service Pack 2
    AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X 2 Core processor 4800+ 2.50 Ghz
    Memory (RAM) 2.0GB
    32 bit operating sytem.
Now i dont know if any of that matters, i dont know that much about computers except how to use them. But i really need a decent editing program ASAP, i literally have a matter of days left for editing 50 photo's, so am in desperate need of any advice. I have updated my computer so many times to try meet the requirements. What can I do to fix this??? Any help PLEASE

At the moment yes, I am unable to upgrade for the time being. I managed to download lightroom 4.4 but figured out quickly it doesn't have a lot of the features I need for editing portraits. Do you by any chance know a photoshop equivalent version trial I could download? I am going to buy whichever one works best after trying for a day, but I just don't want to spend the money and be let down really. I need to know which one will work best for what I'm doing. So body reshaping is a huge part of that.

  • Is Lightroom compatible with Windows Vista?

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 will install and run on Windows Vista; however, Adobe cannot guarantee the quality of the software experience until Adobe fully certifies Photoshop Lightroom for use on Windows Vista...

    No.
Lightroom 5 requires Windows 7 or Windows 8

It will not run on Vista.

  • Lightroom 5 and  Windows Vista 72 bit O.S.

I purchased and downloaded Adobe Lightroom 5.  During its installation, I learned that it is not compatable with my Windows Vista 72 bit operating system.  The product package indicated "Microsoft Windows XP not supported."  No mention was made regarding Vista. It is a fair assumption that Vista would suffice, since it is later than the operating system mentioned. Is there a work-around for this?  If not, what will Adobe do to resolve this dilemma? I would be satisfied to exchange for Lightroom 4.

  • Lightroom crashes at startup after 2014 update

I installed the new 2014 Lightroom Update along with PS CC 2014 and Bridge. PS and Bridge are working fine, but LR crashes right at startup. I briefly see the splash screen and the logo and then it's gone.
I tried to erase and reinstall LR, but the problem persists. What should I do?

  • Lightroom bugs with Windows Vista

I'm having difficulties with one of the file navigation controls in LR running under Windows Vista. The control that pops up with the import (choose files) function works fine, but the control that pops up with the add folder or create new library function misbehaves and causes LR to hang.
I've logged a ticket with Adobe, tried all the standard workarounds (run as administrator, re-create preferences etc.), but to no avail. I think it is a bug.
Has anyone experienced this? Any solutions out there?

What I've seen is that if you try to import from a card reader using the LR downloader, you get a list of files on the card and a message saying that they could not be imported. This also apparently damages the LR database because you cannot import even from a folder on the computer until you delete the database and create a new one. It happens in XP compatibility mode for me too. Otherwise, I have had no troubles using LR on my Vista machine. I can import from a card using another program's downloader and then import the folder into LR for editing.

  • Transferring Lightroom 4.4 from Vista to Win 8.1 on New Computer

I was running LR 4.4 on a Vista OS.  I purchased a Win 8.1 computer.  Per an online tutorial, I transferred my photo folder to the new computer then installed LR 4.4, then transferred over the .lrcat folder.  The catalog cannot find the photos.  Is there something I am missing or a different way to accomplish this?  I intend to upgrade to LR5.7 but thought that it would be simple to work with the same version between computers and operating systems.  Any step-by-steps or advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

It's my understanding the upgrade does not modify any other partitions while upgrading Windows itself. Seems likely something else is wrong.

  • Problems Installing trial Lightroom on laptop w/Vista

    Hello,
I just purchased a new laptop and I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom.  I saved the exe file to my desktop.  I am now attempting to extract it.  I am trying to extract to c:Program Files, but receive the following message:
" A problem occured while extracting some files.  Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder."
Does anyone know if it cannot go in this file, where it should be put?  I know I have available space on my hard drive - I checked - available space is 250GB.  Any help you can give is very appreciated!  Thanks

You should never extract to "C:\Program Files". Ideally, you extract
to a temporary directory, and then run the extracted installer from
    there.

Ah, but have you checked the write privileges of the destination
folder (the other half of the message)?
Try again, but extract to a temp directory, and run the installer from there.

  • Lightroom 5 in Windows Vista

I recently purchased LR5 but have Windows Vista. Is there/will there be a patch for Windows Vista? I have run CS5 and Elements in the past with no problems.

I agree with Paige - best option is upgrade OS.
Still, if you insist, here is how to install on Vista:
    http://www.doerg.es/doku.php?id=start:computer:lightroom5vista
Beware: Lr5.2 may be ok, but Lr5.3 is not  - so your days for Lr5 on Vista are coming to an end, even with the hack..
PS - Biggest problem with Lr5.2 is it still has the publish-service/selection bug, which means you might edit or delete the wrong photos if selecting via publish collection grid.
PPS - It's usually quite painless to upgrade Vista to 7 (you won't have to re-install apps and you shouldn't lose any data...) - get the OEM version of you want to save some $.

  • NVidia video card- Lightroom freezes at startup, stalls, crashes when switching modules [Windows]

Issue: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom freezes when you start, crashes when you switch between modules, displays blank screens in Slideshows, stalls frequently or runs extremely slowly.
Solution: The nVIDIA nView Multi-Display Technology software (also known as nView Desktop Manager) is known to cause these symptoms. If you have this software installed, please see following  Technote for resolution of problem.

Okay, I ended up replacing nouveau with the nvidia proprietary drivers.  I did a full update of my system, which I hadn't been able to do in over a month because of catalyst's conflict with xorg, and managed to get X working (sort of).  The only issue is that once X starts, and brings me to slim, the keyboard ceases to respond.  If I turn the numlock on before X starts, it turns off as soon as X starts.  Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't do anything either.  Not really sure where to go from here other than to switch to vesa or something
EDIT: I tried installing the beta driver as well, but nothing changed.
