Lightroom 2.5 / Windows 7 Sprunglisten

Hallo zusammen.
Ich überlege mir Adobe Lightroom anzuschaffen und habe mir deswegen gestern die 30 Tage Trial heruntergeladen.
Installiert habe ich es in einem "Standartbenutzerkonto" und habe mir dafür die Adminrechte gegeben (vor der Installation wurde ich gebeten das Adminpasswort einzugeben).
Ich habe anschließend zwei Kataloge angelegt um nach Themen (bzw. Jahren) zu unterscheiden. Das Programm liegt bei mir in der Taskleiste festgepinnt. Klicke ich nun mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Lightroomlogo werden in den Sprunglisten die beiden Kataloge aufgelistet. Klicke ich dann auf einen der Kataloge will Lightroom etwas installieren - nur das funktioniert nicht... Siehe Bilder im Anhang.
Melde ich mich als Admin am System an kann ich zwar Lightroom benutzen aber es werden keine Sprunglisten angezeigt...
Meine Frage ist nun - funktionieren die Sprunglisten mit Lightroom oder nicht? Liegt es eventuell an dieser Testversion???
Bevor ich das Geld investiere möchte ich das schon geklärt haben.

Ach ja - ich nutze Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. Sollte zwar keine Rolle spielen aber wer weiß...

Wo Dein Problem genau liegt kann ich leider auch nicht sagen. Diese Meldungen habe ich noch nie gesehen und auch ich arbeite Win 7 64-bit und der 64-bit Version on LR, allerdings verwende ich mit LR die Sprunglisten nicht.
Allerdings gab es bei anderen schon Probleme wenn man nicht 'Owner' des Katalogs ist. Nur alle Rechte zu besitzen schien da nicht immer auszureichen.Das würde ich sicher mal überprüfen.
Mehrere Kataloge würde ich auch nur einsetzen wenn Du beispielsweise pro Kundenauftrag oder so separat arbeiten/sichern willst. Meiner Meinung nach lässt sich aber eigentlich wirklich alles mir einem Katalog erschlagen. Ich habe da auch bezüglich der Performance keine wirklichen bedenken.

I can't open Lightroom 5 in Windows 7. I keep getting a window titled "Confirm" and it notes an "Unexpected error opening catalog" and "The catalog could not be opened due to an unextected error".
3 choices come up:
Try Again Choose A Different Cataog Exit
I pick Try Again and it keeps cycling back
I pick choose a different Catalog and I get another window with my last Catalog and nothing else. I get 4 options:
Choose A Different Catalog Create A New Catalog Open Quit
The last catalog is the only one that is in this Window and is thus the only one selected. I try to Open it and it cycles again. I try to choose a different one and I can select older Catalogs but nothing happens. I try to create a new Catalog and I can do so but when I create one it's as though it was never created as I can't find it anywhere. Please help!

I see that this was a while ago, and that you never received a reply....but did you figure out a solution? I'm experiencing the same thing.

You have to pay for major version upgrades, like LR 3 to LR 5.
You can purchase the upgrade from Adobe for 79 US Dollars from Products, make sure you have your Lightroom 3 serial number available (and maybe cheaper from other sellers)

Problems printing smaller sizes in Lightroom 1.4 Windows Vista-64bit, R800

Hi All,
I am having problems printing smaller sizes in Lightroom v1.4, WIndows Vista-64 bit, on an Epson R800 (driver version 6.5cAs, the latest one) . When I try to set the printer settings in both the page set up and the printer setup, it displays as 5X7, but somehow when it actually goes to print, the print dialogue box reverts back to 8.5 X11. I can print 5X7 in CS3 with no problems on the same machine. The prints coming from light room look ok, they are just the wrong size for the page. Some how it appears that lightroom is not able to change the printing size defaults from 8.5X11. The prints in lightroom are fine as long as I use 8.5X11 or print in CS3. Any help to fix this would be great.

make sure your ventilation ducts are clean from dirt, Vista put lot more strain on every component of your laptop, so the temperature increase should be normal. Xp is lot less demanding on computer compoents, however it does sound like your heat ventilation fan and fins are clogged with dusts. So open up the laptop to clean away any dusts that maybe there.

Yes, Photoshop runs on all editions of Windows 7 as far as I know.
And the Photoshop EULA does give you the option to install and activate the software on a second machine. Once you no longer need the XP system, assuming it's still functional, just deactivate the Adobe software on it and you'll be able to have the same flexibility again in the future.

A side note: Windows Home Premium may do all you need for now, but keep in mind there is a Windows Anytime Upgrade you can buy in the future that will allow you to move up to a higher edition of Windows 7 later if you should feel you need more features.

I can download it with Adobe Application manager, but when I am doing an installation, it says me that there is error!!!

Unofficial workarounds exist online to get Lightroom 5 running on Vista but try them at your own risk. There will be no support if anything goes wrong.

To delete the preview cache, do this:
1. Quit Lightroom.
2. In your Operating System, locate your Lightroom catalog. Typically catalogs are in /Pictures/Lightroom on Mac and My Pictures\Lightroom on Windows.
3. Find the folder whose name ends with "Previews.lrdata" and delete it. (note, you may also have a folder whose name ends with "Smart Previews.lrdata." You shouldn't need to delete that one.)

Can I run Lightroom 4 under Windows XP

The version of Lightroom I have is 4.0 (working w/Windows 7) This computer and all media files are kept off-line After doing more research, I downloaded DNG Converter 7.1This loaded into a .zip folder, which I am planning to install into the off-line computer andrun. Where does this folder go?
And will this set up work with my version of Lightroom?

Not so far, only for Apple, although there has been a statement about it being available for Android devices at some point in the future.

Working with Lightroom between a Windows desktop and laptop

Please forgive me if there appears to be an obvious answer to this question. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with work flows.
I have both a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit desktop and laptop both with Adobe CC (Photoshop CC 2014 & Lightroom 5.6) installed.
I always treat my desktop as my "Main" machine as it holds ALL of my 10,000 odd images all stor ed in a folder structure.
As a very new Lightroom user, I'm slowly starting to bring all these images into a LR catalogue folder by folder, but this will take some time.
My actual question is how can I edit a photo on my laptop in LR but ensure that the edited image is stored back in my Lightroom Catalogue on my desktop? I hope this question makes sense.
I don't store all my images up onto the cloud seeing we're talking just over 100GB. It's not like LR Mobile where one can select an image or collection to Sync and my understanding is that it appears on your Lightroom Mobile; I'm an android person and so yes, am STILL waiting for an android version of Lightroom Mobile

Do the editing on the laptop, then use the Lightroom command File->Export as Catalog, transfer the resulting files to the desktop, use the Lightroom command File->Import from Another Catalog

Lightroom 4 on Windows 7 no longer opens

My installation of lightroom 4.2 on Windows OS7 has been working fine until Saturday November 3. Now it generates this error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).Click OK to close the application."
I have uninstalled iLivid as suggested in the user Forum. I uninstalled Lightroom 4 and reinstalled. It said it installed successfully, yet I still get the same error.
I'm dead in the water here...is there a solution out there?
