Lightroom 2.7 custom photo package printing

When I try to  print a custom photo package (multiple 4x6 images) on 16x20 photo paper, the individual prints come out slilghtly different in size relative to the 4x6 format.  I am using bordereless printing on a 16" roll (epson 7800) and I snap each pic to pic on the layout. The interior pics print  1/16"oversized of the 4x6 size, the edge pics print undersize by 1/8".  When I reduce the number of pics on the layout and leave a gap between each pic on the layout the pics print all oversize by about an 1/8".  The lightroom print controls;  Photo Border is not checked, Inner Stroke is not checked, Zoom to fill is checked.
My question is- Can lightroom 2.7 print actual 4x6 prints using the custom photo package w/borderless printing?  If I layout four 4x6 pics side by side so that the entire width of the 16" paper is used, can I get lightroom and my printer (epson7800) to actually print each borderless photo exactly 4" instead of oversizing the two inner pics and thus shortening the two edge pics due to the oversizing of the two inner pics?  Am I missing an adjustment I need to make on the printer properties or the lightroom page setup?  Thanks for any help.

You may need to download the package again.

  • Using Lightroom for Windows 8.1 with Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer.

Using Lightroom for Windows 8.1 with Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer.  From PRINT section, if I click either "Page Setup" or "Printer" I get the Epson printer dialog box, drill down, change settings- so far so good.  When I'm finished with the settings and close the dialog box (hit OK) the print job starts immediately; I never get a chance to hit the Lightroom "Print" button.  Question: does this bypass any Lightroom processing or control of the print job?

Even if I just click the Printer button to verify my settings I should then return to Lightroom, and then click Print to start the job.  This does not happen, the job starts as soon as I close the properties dialog box.  Again, is any Lightroom processing or control being bypassed because of this?

  • Customer CD for printing

I have Lightroom 5 on a Windows machine.
I want to make a customer CD with high quality prints. The customer will be printing different sizes of prints, some possibly quite large - 24x36. What settings do I need to choose in the File Settings, Image Sizing, and Output Sharpening? I have been choosing JPEG, quality 100, sRGB, 300 pixels per inch, not checking resize to fit, and standard sharpen for matte paper. My customer tried to print a 24x36 canvas and was unable to do so (through the Artscow website). I changed my setting to Resize to fit, width and height, 24x36 and was able to place the order for the canvas. But I don't want to set all my pictures to resize to fit 24x36 do I? Or do I? I've thought about this so much I've confused myself! Help!

You simply need to send the images at their maximum (original) resolution.
Until the images are actually printed onto paper, PPI has no real meaning. Digital files aren't measured in inches, but the header (EXIF) information in the file can contain a PPI value which is used as a guide by software such as InDesign or Photoshop when you ask for an image to be placed or printed at "actual size". When you specify PPI in the Lightroom export dialog all you're doing is setting that header data, the pixels in the image itself are not changing in any way. The print service provider's job is to always scale your images to fit their paper, they should not care what the EXIF data says.
If the service provider in this case is rejecting images you need to find out why; but if they're demanding an image with so many pixels that it fills  the poster at 300ppi, they're being silly. Unless you own a top-end medium format camera or assemble mega-panoramas you can't possibly take photos with that many pixels.

  • Is it possible to create a custom photo layout when creating a photo book in iphoto?

Is it possible to create a custom photo layout when creating a photobook in iphoto? How about adding text boxes?

    Yes and no
You can not make a custom template nor can you modify one
You can do a page in other software and then print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto option and place the resulting image as a full page photo - See Old Toad's tutorial No.19 for more information.

  • Trying to layout a photo for printing in iPhoto '09

I'm fairly new to a Mac and iPhoto and have been trying to get a photo to print half-size on an A4 sheet of paper and can't seem to do it. I'm using A4 photo paper and just want to re-size and layout a photo so it only takes up half the A4 sheet (i.e. A5) and then put another beside it to take up the other half. Previously on a PC and with PaintShopPro I could just resize and rotate photos so they were laid out on a page just the way I wanted them. Is this possible in iPhoto '09 or do I need to buy Aperture, Photoshop elements or PaintShopPro in order to do this?
    Thanks

You want to print two photos on an A4 page, right?
1 - select the two photos and click on Print.
2 - set Page size to A4 borderless
3 - set Print size to Custom
    4 - enter a width of A4's width less .25" and length to A4/2 less .25".
That should give you 2 photos per page with a minimal white border. If you try to set the width to exactly the width of the A4 page and exactly half the length it will revert to 1 photo per page. You can experiment with the .25" dimension a bit and might be able to get it a bit larger.

  • Epson Photo R2400 printing problems

I'm new to Mac, and I'm having problems printing from Photoshop CS2 for Mac to a brand new Epson Photo R2400 printer attached to my MacPro via the front panel firewire connection. The problem seems to occur with larger files (91mbyte or greater). The printing is interrupted my a "Printer Communication Error" which gives me no other choice but to shut down the print job, which results in my expensive, partially printed photo being ejected from the printer...this is getting expensive, folks...anybody with a solution to this problem? BTW, I downloaded the latest drivers for Mac from the Epson website and installed them, so I don't think it's a driver issue.
    Thanks

Wow. I haven't seen that one. I have a 2200 on FireWire on my Mac Pro. But the biggest file I remember printing was 71MB.
Are you by any chance using custom paper sizes? I had a communications problem when I set up a custom paper size that didn't use the printer's margins, a problem I found through Google.
You may also want to inquire on the forums of some high-end printer websites. Here is one forum:

  • Importing photos to print

I am using Lightroom 2. I want to import photos to print from an external hard drive , but am doing so one by one. Is there a way to do this more quickly? Thanks in advance for any help.

It's not clear whether you're asking about Import or Print. However, I assume you are referring to printing. If so then simply select all of the images you want to print  (Library grid or Print module filmstrip). All should appear as a print page (see screenshot below). Once slected in this way you need only ensure that sufficient paper is loaded before hitting print button.

  • Selecting more than one photo to print at a time

Im using a Dell laptop, 2GB, Windows XP PROF, Epson Stylus Photo RX620.
How can I select more than one photo to print without having to print one at a time when I select photos from a folder?

Keep the Ctrl key pressed while you click on the images that you have to select.

  • How do Lightroom users manage sharing photos with family?

I'm just looking for some best practices about how to handle the workflow of sharing photos.  Obviously the Lightroom user doesn't want family members to start messing around with the photos outside of Lightroom, and if the photos are not JPGs family members might not be able to view them anyway.  One solution I can think of is to shoot all photos in JPG and in Camera Raw at the same time and save the JPGs to a folder available to everyone and only import the Camera Raw ones into Lightroom.

This is a possible solution, but by doing this, family members will not be able to see changes you applied to the photos from within LR.
Another option would be to export your LR inventory (or parts of it) regularely to a specific folder, where others can access the JPEGs/TIFFs.
In LR 3, this can be somewhat automated by using the Publish Services to harddisk, where only changed photos are exported again a second or successive time.
A different approach could also be LRViewer, which lets you view images in a LR catalog from the previews without accessing the originals and without being able to change anything on them.

  • HP C6380 photo tray prints only green

The problem started when I installed my new computer with Windows 7. The photo tray prints only in green. I tried to print from the photo tray from various programs with the same result, so the printer must be the problem. I downloaded and installed the 2009-10-20 software and driver version 13.1.0 which did not correct the problem. I also ran the HP printer problem detection tool and got no help there. Please help me. I use this feature often. By the way, I posted this same question a short time again and it has disappeared. Thanks for any help you can give me.

How can I get my photos to print as they look on iphoto? Have tried my personal printer and Walgreens.

Im not exactly sure what you mean by color profile..can you specify? So i have a dslr canon and take great portraits and tune them to exactly how I want them to look, they dont print at all like the colors presented on my screen. If i antique them then they print yellowish. Ive even tried printing them at walgreens because i thought it was my new printer. Hp hasnt let me doown til now. Is ot a printer setting? Ive never had this kind of printing issue.

  • Getting the photos I print to match what they look like on my screen.

I'm having a hard time getting the photos I print to match what they look like on my screen.  I even bought a monitor calibrator and tried changing  my color settings in Photoshop and it hasn't seemed to help.  The pictures even look different when I pull them up in The ROES program I use to order prints from.  The pictures come out really dull compared to what they look like in Photoshop.  Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

There are a couple of things to note here right away.
To get a good screen to print match the first consideration is the monitor brightness and white point temperature. The goal is a visual match to paper white.
The calibrator will help you set this up. Spend some time to find the right settings, because it will depend on the ambient light and your whole working environment. That includes the Photoshop UI - if you use the now default dark UI, images will appear brighter than in the old light UI.
The second thing to note is that you don't change any Photoshop color settings. The calibration and profiling is all handled automatically, once you found the right settings for white point. Just let the calibration software run through and do its thing, done. The display profile is set up as system default and Photoshop finds it there.
Once you have a correct display of the file, you then need a correctly color managed print pipeline. If both are accurate, they will match.
