Lightroom 2 and PS Elements 11 on macbook

Can anyine help
I have moved from PC to macbook pro
I have installed lightroom 2 - working OK
I have installed Photochop Elements 11 - working OK
all working as it should except the interface between the two
Lightroom did not recognise PS elements as photoshop in the preferences option to choose external editor and it cant be added
I therefore added Photoshop Elements in the Lightroom preferences as an additional external editor
Within lightroom I can selece to open in external editor and it gives the option to edit original or edit copy etc
all works as it should
but no image is passed into elements to edit
I assume the file name and path are not being passed
would it have worked if Lightroom had recognised PS Elements 11 as photoshop
any help / advice appreciated

Looks like I have found answer to my own question
for reference its here

"Here’s the fix. Instead of choosing the Elements icon in the main application folder, you need to go to Applications > Adobe Photoshop 11 > Support Files and choose the Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor.app file"

  • Installing photoshop elements and premiere elements on a MacBook Air without disk drive.

I recently purchased a computer bundle form my school and I receive the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Premiere Elements 12 with the bundle.  It came with two DVD-ROMs and activation codes, however my MacBook Air does not have a disk drive.  Is there another way to download the program with only the activation codes instead of using the DVDs.

Yes, download and install the trial version.
Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 | Adobe
Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Premiere Elements 12 | Adobe
Enter your serial number when prompted and the software will be fully licensed on your MacBook Air. The 30 day time limited trial restriction will be removed.

  • Transfer photoshop and premiere elements to new macbook pro?

how can I transfer my online purchase of photoshop elements and premiere elements from my old macbook to my new macbook pro

You will need the backup of the original download package. If you purchased from Adobe, less than three years ago, another download may be possible. Click on the red Adobe logo (top left of this forum page) and log-in to My Adobe and then explore your purchase history.

  • Lightroom 2 and Photoshop Elements 6 Organiser

    Hi:-)
I have had a look at a friend's set up with Lightroom and CS3, and I have decided to use Lightroom myself.
However, at present I do not use, (and do not intend to use!) CS3, and instead use Photoshop Elements 6.0. My editing skills are limited, and Elements offers what I need for my RAW files. I prefer the workflow and categorising facilities of Lightroom, which is why I am buying it.
My question is, can I easily convert my existing PSE 6.0 catalog into Lightroom, or perhaps it will automatically subsume it? I would prefer to discontinue the PSE Organiser, but retain the Editor function. I think they are 2 separate programs, but would welcome anybody's opinion as to whether this is likely to cause me problems.
    Many thanks
    Alan

You can migrate the PSE6 catalog into Lightroom 2. Here's the help

  • Lightroom 5 and premier elements 12 how well are they integrated?

Trying to decide whether I should buy premier elements 12 or pro to go with my lightroom 5.  Any advice would be appreciated.@

    Ned,
Thanx so much for pointing me in that direction.  It definately says, " and in 64-bit or 32-bit mode on Windows 7 and Windows 8 & 8.1;" which means it should be able to run in 64- mode but I'm not sure how to make that happen.  I work for a software company and our software has two different versions that are installed.  So do you know if I have the wrong version or do they have some kind of switch that I missed setting on installation?
    Thanx

  • Lightroom 4 and Premier Elements 11

I discovered an amazing to me feature.
Lightroom 4 added some video tools aimed at DSLR owners, but compared to PrE the editing is really weak.  However....
By accident I discovered that AVCHD video thumbnails in Lightroom move!  It takes a few moments for all the previews to load, but then you can scrub the mouse pointer across the thumbnail and see the entire contents of the clip.  There is no need to play it in a monitor window and you can make the thumbnails big or small  You can mark the clips as Picked or Rejected.
Since I like working a project in its own folder with clip copies, the next step is to select the Picks and Export as Original to a new folder for the project.  Open a new project in PrE and add all the media in the new folder.
If you want to save disk space you can select all the rejects and delete them in a batch.
This will save me hours, if not days, finding video clips I want to use from various trips.  Nowhere else have I seen "motion" thumbnail previews.
Granted, Lightroom is $125 and PrE about $80, but getting to the fun stuff quickly makes my day!

Not really necessary. You can do this if you like:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html
but really all you need to do is to deactivate PSE (editor>help>sign out) on your computers and give the discs to your SIL. Most people don't bother with the license transfer in a family situation.

  • Lightroom and Photoshop Elements 12 transfer/sharing problem'

I'm new to Adobe Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 12.   I open a Lightroom image in Photoshop Elements 12 by using Photo-->Edit In--> PSE12.  I make a change in PSE12, and then "save."  I understand that I'm supposed to overwrite the default file name.  But, when I go back to LR, my PSE changes are not saved.  What am I doing wrong?

I noticed the same problem when I upgraded to elements 12 in december. Also using LR 5.3 on mac running 10.8.5. When using the save command in PSE usually the saved file was not visible in LR. I posted in the forum then without any positive responses. As I worked the problem myself  I noticed that when saving from PSE if I used the "save as" command instead of the "save" command and then answered in the affirmative to overwrite the existing file the edits would save back to LR without fail. I have been using this technique for the last 6 weeks or so and haven't had any edits fail to return to LR. I have no idea why this would fix the problem as all the instructional material says not to use the save as command. I suspect it is a bug in PSE12 but because it's "only" elements no one at adobe is paying any attention. Anyway, try that and see if it solves your problem. It worked for me although I can't explain why.

  • Need help installing Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements on MacBook Pro.

I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements on my MacBook Pro. The disc is appearing on my desktop, but when I go to use the installation system, it's telling me the program is not supported. Here is what I'm seeing when I open the disc:
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Which version of mac os x are you using?
That looks like the install files for a windows operating system.
You would need the photoshop elements 6 disk for a mac operating system.

  • Catalog sharing between Lightroom and Photoshop Elements

Can the catalog be shared between Lightroom 2 and Photoshop Elements 10?

Lightroom and PSE cannot share catalogs (although the same image can be in both)
PSE catalogs can be upgraded to Lightroom catalogs, but then changes made in Lightroom are not reflected in PSE. You cannot go the other way, Lightroom catalogs cannot be converted to PSE catalogs.
Lastly, I strongly recommend that you use only a single "organizing" application. The idea of using two (or more) different "organizing" applications will lead to confusion and errors and lack of synchronization.

  • How to install Photoshop Elements 8 in Macbook Air if I have DVD?

Hello, I have a DVD that I purchased of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 that I'd like to install in my new Macbook Air. There is no DVD drive in this machine. How can I install it?

You can download from the link below. But note that you need to be signed-in to the trials server with your Adobe ID otherwise the link for the Mac download will be denied. Follow the directions under "Very Important Instructions" before starting the download. When you complete the installation you can validate with your 24 digit serial number from you disk packaging.

  • Windows XP and Photoshop Elements

I want to re-download Photoshop Elements due to a computer hard drive crash.  My computer runs XP.  I see that he versions available require Windows 7 min.  Is there any way that I can use XP.  I cannot upgrade to Windows 7?   Can I get the older verison of Adobe Photoshop elements.  I believe  I purchased in in 2007.   Thank you
    TJ Kes

If you know which older version that is you can likely download the trial version from its link below and use your serial number to activate it....
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Installation for Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 and Premiere Elements 8

    Hey guys,
I was hoping to see if anyone could help me out with this. I recently bought a new laptop, and obviously, I was stuck a few days moving everything from my old one to my new one. So when it came to install the Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 in the new computer, I noticed that the installer here at the Adobe Web Page is not accepting my serial number for that product. And additionally, I don't see the installer for the Premiere Elements 8 and I don't know if the Photoshop Elements 8 installer in the web page is gonna do the same thing like the Acrobat Standard 9. Hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

    Hi DJRicky7,
You can download Premiere Elements 8 from the direct download links available at: Direct Download Links for Lightroom 3 and Photoshop Elements 8 | ProDesignTools
Please make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.
For Acrobat 9 Std. you can click on the link: https://sendnow.acrobat.com/m/g.ashx?i=rol7pInCLAR6FfBXHhVUfA&x=qPtk3SqdJjawgwvDY49b3A

  • HOw do I open XMP files I have light room 5 and photoshop elements 12?

How do I open XMP files??? windows 8, lightroom 5 and photshop elements 12...

You don't need to. As long as the XMP file is in the same folder as the corresponding image file, LR or Adobe Camera Raw will automatically read it and recognize your last completed edit when you open the file or go to Develop module (reads from catalog).

  • Re - instating Photoshop Elements 7 and Premier Elements 7

I have had to replace my hard drive and have lost  Photoshop Elements 7 and Premier Elements 7 how can I re instate them. I have contacted Adobe Technical Support but they said that they can only help with the latest version and I should ask on the Forum. Can anybody help the products are registered with Adobe?

You can download v7 from the links in the comments at http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.h tml/comment-page-1. You must follow the download instructions EXACTLY (for some strange reason many people think it is OK to ignore instructions 0, 1 & 2) or you will get access / authorisation errors.

  • Why can't I edit Lightroom pictures in Photoshop Elements?

I'm on a Windows PC running Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 12.  Why can't I get Elements as an option when I am in Lightroom and select Photo - Edit In??  Elements is not an option there.  Can I change that??
    [email protected]

This blog will explain how to install Elements as an external editor in lightroom.  The main thing to remember it to point Lightroom to the EDITOR and not the Elements Startup screen where you can choose Organizer or Editor.  If you don't point to the EDITOR the photo will not show up in Elements
