Lightroom 2 can find the missing catalog
Lightroom operated flawlesly until it crashed so I deleted and
re-installed Lightroom 2 but that did not remove the question mark ("?") on the right corner of every file.
When I point Lightroom to the correct file the following message appears:
"THE FILE IS ASSOCIATED WITH ANOTHER FILE IN THE CATALOG. Each file can only be associated with one photo"
I do not understand how that is possible or how to correct it. Any Suggestions?
Lightroom is a Miracle when it works and useless when it does not. This is my third frustrating day trying to correct the problem.
I am very disappointed that no one from Adobe Lightroom who monitors this forum can solve the "?" problem.
I will have to purchase another software program to convert the RAW files and that sucks.
Lightroom performed perfectly before it crashed and now it is absolutely worthless as it can not see any of my RAW files.

well...I guess just writing to you gave me the 'courage' to try it myself...and it worked. I added back (not meaning to) a couple of discarded images but that was easy to find as the ? remained.
Oh, LR had placed a lot of images in the trash....so I removed them into a separate folder...and then I copied them into the 'copy' of my raw images.
Let me know if that works for you.

I want to use basetext font, but some of the glyphs are missing in it, and are highlighted with pink boxes. common font [stix, etc.] have much more glyphs than basetext font. I can apply common font [stix, etc.]manually for each of the missing glyphs or insert two character and use kerning set it up, but it is tedious.

I am using Firefox version 3.6.13
You can find the last time a web page was visited by using the Library.
In the History menu select "Show All History" to open the Library. You can use the Library to view the history, and by default it will show the last date & time the site was visited. If the Visit Date column is not visible, within the Library select Views, then Show Columns, then Visit date to display that column. -
iPhoto frustrating error..The volume for "Df23.JPG" cannot be found. It prompts for all photos with this issue rather than offering an option to ignore. I can find the images in spotlight but not in Find Photo. Does anyone have a solution?
Unless you have the source files that were on the TC or Windows machine you will have to start over with a new library as follows:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.
Click to view full size
3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects. Your original library will remain intact for further attempts at fixes is so desired.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -

I have a 27 inch iMac with maverick os. my current version of iMovie (10.0.6) will not open older projects i created in iMovie 9.0.9. I can find the projects and they have a ".rcproject" file extension

I have moved the Event and Project Folders to the "top-layer of the drive" as the instructions state, right alongside the System Folder, Users Folder and Applications Folders.
When I open iMovie 10.0.8, the Events and Projects Folders are empty:
When I select File/Update Projects and Events, I get an alert box that says iMovie couldn't find any:
Not knowing exactly what is meant by the "top layer" in the instructions, I moved the Events and Project folders back inside the "Movies" folder where I found them (but then not where I would call the "top" layer, but rather "iMac/Users/Home/Movies/iMovieProjects". Then I tried to "Update Projects and Events" and received the same alert: "iMovie could not find any projects or events to update."
Then I tried to update iMovie 9.0 (iMovie '11 version 9.0 (1073)) to version 9.0.9 .
[As an aside, the nomenclature of iMovie drives me nuts. The latest version is 10.0.8, which us newer than iMovie '11.]
Back to the update of version 9.0 to 9.0.9.
Presumably because I have version 10.0.8 installed, I got this alert box:
So, I cannot update version 9.0
and I cannot "Update" the Events and Projects created in version 9.0. -
I've just migrated my Logic Pro 9.1.8 to a new Mac because my old computer crashed. They are asking for a serial number, but I don't have the install disks anymore. Is there someplace in the software itself that I can find the serial number?
