Lightroom 2015 won't run on my PC

Installation of Lr 2015 (CC) was flawless, but it won't open on my PC

Won't open on my Mac either. Photoshop CC is ok.
I have tried uninstalled both the new lightroom and the old lightroom, reinstall the new lightroom, reboot. Still will not run.
Now, where can I get the stand alone version of Lightroom again to get up and running?

A lot of people, including myself, have found it necessary to sign out of the creative cloud application manager and then sign back in. Here are the instructions on how to do that.

Lightroom 3 won't run on my Macbook Pro

I just installed Lightroom3 on my Macbook Pro. Lightroom asked me to download 3.6 in the process, which I did. My operating system is OS10.7.5 Lion. When I tried to import photos from IPhoto, Lightroom does not recognize the application! I also tried importing from an SD card. Although Lightroom recognized the SD card, it would not import any of the photos. Obviously I can't use Lightroom if it won't import any photos. Help!

My files are jpegs. Lightroom recognizes by SD card and a desktop folder into which I have exported photos from IPhoto. BUT Lightroom will not import the files whether from IPhoto, SD card or desktop folders. I have not tried attaching camera because Lightroom recognizes my SD card as a "Canon..."

"Installing Lightroom 5" won't run

Downloaded beta Lightroom 5p1 ( Vista/sp1/Chrome) to "Downloads" folder. Ran Install to extract the files , also to the "Downloads" folder. I see "Install Lightroom 5.exe" but it will not run, either under my authority or the RUN AS ADMIN. No error messages generated; just will not produce results. How do I get the Install utility running?? Thanks!

I am having the same issue, but I'm running Windows 7. I even right-click and choose "run as an Administrator" and still nothing happens. No error messages, no pop-ups... nothing....

Lightroom 5.5 and Photoshop CC 14 won't run after installing

I tried installing the Lightroom and PS upgrades through the Creative Cloud installers - they install but won't run. Lightroom won't start at all now and PS starts, gets to the main window and immediately shuts down. I've restored, reinstalled, uninstalled all old versions, run CC cleaner multiple times sucessfully - nothing has worked.
Help is appreciated.

Lightroom 5.5 update file downloads just fine, but it won't run. Any solutions out there?

Lightroom 5.6 won't run on Win 7 6 after upgrade through CC

Upgrading Lightroom to 5.5 stopped it from running. I found a fix on the net and moved on.
Now. Lightroom 5.6 has just upgraded and now it won't run. Also, I cannot find a fix - new or old.
This is very frustating..

Installing the standalone version just postpones the problem until you install the cloud version, again.
The SLCache folder has bad data in it that confused LR 5.5 and again LR 5.6 until it was cleared, via Solution 4 on this page. Of course there could be other issues, so trying each of the solutions in order could be useful, but Solution 4 is the one that finally worked for me, with LR 5.5 on my home computer, and LR 5.6 on my work computer, where I'd installed the standalone 5.5 to bypass the issue and it came back with LR 5.6:

Once you remove the contents of the SLCache folder other Adobe programs will ask to be relicensed like Elements via a serial number or the cloud programs by logging in, but that is just once after you clear it not each time.

Try signing out and signing in back on Creative Cloud desktop App once
Sign in, Sign out | Creative Cloud desktop app
Then check if you can launch Lightroom CC 2015 version.

Lightroom 5 doesn't run on Snow Leopard

I'm sure this is well know amongst readers here but I had no idea until after I purchased and tried to install. Now waiting for a refund. How did I miss this? I've used Lightroom for over 4 years. I read all the reviews of the beta and now the release of Lightroom 5. Somehow I failed to notice that the program won't run on Snow Leopard on the Mac. Amazing! I haven't wanted to upgrade my Mac OS for multiple reasons. Now I'm on a dead end road with Lightroom. I'll have to figure that out. My oversight but I wish that Adobe and the reviewers had made this fact more obvious. Maybe they did. I'm disappointed.

There’s usually a System Requirements section on the LR purchase pages.
Trying out the beta and trying out LR in Trial mode are the ways to avoid such issues.

Lightroom 2 won't install at all

Hi, folks--
Could anyone suggest why my new version of Lightroom 2 won't install at all on my system? At first I thought that it was because my comp didn't meet the minimum requirements, but I believe it does, so I'm stumped. I received a Windows Installer error message stating, "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." I'm trying to install from a brand-new CD purchase made through Amazon, so I trust the retailer. I have a valid serial number and all that.
I'm running Win XP Pro, SP3.

My suggestion is to download the trial (which is the full version) and try that. You can then add the serial number on the one you purchased.

Executable won't run

I have a main application calling a sub VI 'Sub Al getest2.VI" into a sub panel. When I include a 'display message to user' from the functions palette in de sub VI, the whole program runs fine in developer mode. After building an application, the sub VI opens in the main applications sub panel, but it won't run. The same if I add another custom VI to the "Sub Al getest2 VI" it also won't run after building the full application.
The fun part is: If I create a new project with the sub Al getest2.VI as the main program (and including embedded sub VI's) I can build an executable and it will run fine on it's own.
In the main application build I include all project files as 'Always included'.
Do you have a suggestion what could be wrong?

Putting a VI in a subpanel is not the same thing as calling it. If you want the VI that you're going to put in the subpanel to start running after you open the reference to it, you have to tell it to run by using something like the Run VI method an asynchronous call node.

Lightroom 2 won't launch after install

After installing onto an XP 32-bit machine that already had Lightroom 2 Beta running, Lightroom 2 now refuses to launch. It is an upgrade version loaded from disc but has killed off all the other versions, too.
I have un-installed and re-installed repeatedly - rebooting every time - to no avail. Even a new install of Lightroom 1 won't launch - which makes me wonder if there is a rogue file from the Beta version that needs a serious talking to.
The computer shows the application as correctly installed but it simply won't launch.
What to do?

Version 2 and Beta preference files no longer exist after uninstalling and V1.0 still refuses to launch even after removing its preferences.
Could there be something in the registry that needs a kick?

Lightroom 2015

The LR 2015 is installed and shows up to date in Creative cloud window. But it does not open.

I have it work! ( I have Windows 7 64bit system.)
1. I removed LR 2015 from Creative Cloud window.
2. I went to Control Panel - Programs and Feature tab and select stil showing Adobe Lightroom 6 and select uninstalle.
The reply was that program is already deleted and the line showing the program was cleared.
3. I disable Firewall (I have Vipre.
4. I went to web page of Adobe.com and Sign in; I select Desktop Apps and then select download of Lightroom 2015
5. The downloaded program name was "CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe"
6. I run this exe file. And all went nice and perfect
7. When LR 2015 open I select to open another catalog file ( not the ones suggested) from my current LR 5.7.

CS3 installs but won't run

Ok - not sure if this goes in this section or not.. but it's a technical question.
My b/f bought me a Dell Laptop last week. It has the recommended minimum of everything adobe says it needs for photoshop CS3 (see below for 1721 specs)
When I installed it on the laptop - it was slow, but said it installed. But when I go to open up Photoshop, it opens the screen - and then just hangs. After about 5 minutes it says not responding and I close it. Any of the other programs that came with won't even get that far. I click on them and it gives the little "thinking" circle (as I call it.. lol) and then nothing.
I have read that CS3 has issues with Vista - but their site says the home premium should work. I've also read about 64 bit issues.. but the OS is 32 bit - so it's capable of running 32bit systems... I guess.
I called adobe yesterday after installing and reinstalling CS3 15+ times... with the same issue. I was on the phone for about 2 hours with them. Basically - they have NO CLUE what it would be since it installs fine and opens with no error messages. I checked the log files and there is nothing in there I see that says any kind of error.
I have disable windows defender, uninstalled McAfee and google desktop (all are known to cause issues with CS3), I have ALL non MS startup services turned off.. I have turned off the MS users control.. all suggested by the adobe tech.
I have installed using the run as administrator. Nothing. Created a new admin account and installed on that user and opened on reg admin account. Nothing. (again typical things that correct cs3 install issues)
The last thing the guy said was that it might be a video issue. I checked and there aren't any issues mentioned and no driver updates listed.
We tryed installing this on my b/f's laptop. He bought the exact one I have (except his is red.. mine blue.. lol) and it does the EXACT same thing...
So today we called dell. they say it's a software issue and won't answer any questions for free. Apparently only hardware support is free... But they won't accept this is a hardware conflict with the software..

I have tried installing from the DVD and also from the zip file. the zip file was extracted to the hard drive brfore I ran it - and I ran it as administrator.
And when it stalls - it gives the (NOT RESPONDING) tag on the window - which usually means that even if I leave it (and I have for up to 20 minutes) - still nothing.
Here's the update from my dealings with DEll today...
Dell tech support guy told me that it was a know issue that CS3 WON'T run on Vista and that Adobe is working the issue
Told them that I knew others that were running it on Vista and it worked fine. They had no answer.
Then I waited for the Technical support manger to call. This is after expressing my displeasure to the technical supervisor about them trying to pawn this issue off on anyone else but themselves. Why can't they go grab a 1721 off the shelf and replicate the issue and try to figure it out from there?!?!?!
I used to work on a network helpdesk.. if I tried to pull that crap answer without trying to replicate the issue and AT LEAST try to find an answer.. I wouldn't have lasted very long at all!!!!
The Tech manager told me to call customer support and ask for an OS swap (from vista to XP) because they don't know what the problem is and so it muct be a Vista compatibility issue
I call customer support. They say that they no longer will give out XP since it is a step backwards. And to install XP on the machine ourselves (even a liscensed copy) would void the warranty. They suggest I talk to sales about swapping the laptop out with a "more compatible" one. Which isn't a totally bad idea since I really do think it is an AMD/ATI conflict.
They transfer me to Sales.. ohh - you used the Employee Purchase program.. you need to talk to them.. and they transfer me.
The EPP people tell me.. ohhhh you didn't actually go through us since you bought it off the Dell Outlet store. So they transfer me.
The dell outlet store says they will be more than happy to swap me out to an Intel based machine.
Only catch is the Intels are more expensive. They don't have any for the price we paid for the amd's. Fot about $40 more I can get one with a slower processer, a gig less ram, no dvd writer, but with a 160gb hd. To get compatible to mine - would be about $150 more.
And they only have silver in the low end, and black or brown in the higher. Not that I really give a s@!t what the color is.. but it brings up the main reason I am sooo pissed abput all of this....
Why should I have to pay more money, settle on doing without option/features want/need.. just because THEY don't want to take the time to figure out what the real issue is?!?!?! Why isn't it them doing these calls and doing all this troubleshooting.. Why am I being peanilzed for THEM not wanting to do their jobs....
Told the B/F that I am done with Dell. That I don't want the laptop anymore and I don't want any other one from them. He says he'll pay the extra and get me the other one.. but that isn't the point....
Not sure what my next move is.
