Lightroom 3.2 RC issue with cropped preview on load

I'm running 3.2 RC on a Macbook Pro 10.6.4 with the Snow Leopard Graphics update. I've found a problem where I begin to load an image in the develop module using "fit" and it suddenly switches to a randomly tightly cropped view. If I zoom in and zoom out, it reverts to normal behavior.
Anyone else notice this?

I'm running the same software and haven't noticed this behavior. I have a 17" MBP.

Lightroom 5 auto import issues with nikon d90

Hoping someone can help answer my question - I am wondering if Lightroom 5 has any issues with the auto import or tethering feature using a Nikon d90? I was using Lightroom 2 and the auto import feature has no issues with my d90. After I installed Lightroom 5 (Cloud App) and ran it for the first time, the first thing I used was the tethering feature and it worked great for 4 shots. I turned my camera off and then back on again and LR would not recognize my camera any longer for tethering. What's strange is that it will detect it for "Importing from Device" option. So, I went to plan two which was to auto import and that wasn't working at all. I am at a loss. I have a shoot coming up this weekend and need for one of these options to work. Any help is appreciated!!!

I use a D90, but I have never tried tethered shooting with it. Other users might have some suggestions for you, but looking at the list of supported cameras for tethered shooting the D90 is not "officially" supported in Lightroom. So you're probably on your own to find solutions. I know this isn't a lot of help.

Issue with Cropping

Hi All -
I have a bit of an issue with Photoshop CS6 in the cloud. When running the crop tool on a basic image, it seems that it goes to "Processing" and simply stays there for some time. The image is not very high res and the computer is brand new 4GB ram, plenty of disk space, etc.
Any suggestions on what might cause this?

PS CS6 issue with crop tool: graphic glitches

I am using Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 and I'm experiencing an issue with the crop tool. Whenever I use the crop tool, move the frame around and then zoom in on the image, the image becomes noisy, pixelated or has other 'graphic glitches'. I changed the PS preferences to not use the GPU and then rebooted the computer. Still the same issue without the GPU.
Running on Mac OS 10.8.3, iMac 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6970M.
Is there another workaround to use this tool until it might get fixed? Thank you.

I've seen the same issue from time to time on windows 13.01.1 usually only on rather large pixel dimension documents.
Does it make a difference if you flatten the image before using the crop tool?
Also, using the classic mode for the crop tool doesn't seem to have that glitch.

Issues with Render Preview (Translating to Export)

I've had this reoccuring issue with various media I have captured using Dxtory with the x264 codec. The time at which the video decides to contort/mix never varies even with different settings in Adobe Premiere. The original footage does not have this error.
NOTE: The raw footage does not have this issue as shown in the "Original Video". This is a straight upload to You-Tube rather than putting it through Adobe Premiere CS5.5

This premiere is giving us problems all the time I don't know why I'm still using it, I thing that is time to make a change if this people don't open their doors a little bit more. I think that we not gonna fix this. But if you do let me know.

Aperture 2.1.4 issue with Image preview (Browser Only)

I'm using Aperture from some time, from past few days I'm facing issue with my aperture image browser only.
i have few projects created. In some projects I'm unable to see the images in view browser only mode. If I select some other view option it works fine except view Browser only has issue.
any idea how can i fix it.

I can see the blanks dashes square instead of thumbnails. and it affected to all the images in a project.
(In one of the other modes, you could select all the images (or just the ones affected) and reprocess the thumbnails). how would i do this...

Issues with Apple's Application Loader

I have been having some issues delivering my ePub to iBooks through Apple's Application Loader device. I've contacted Adobe, who says my file is fine. Then Apple, who says there is an issue with my file. Then back to Adobe, who says their help ends with inDesign. Then back to Apple, who says I have to talk to Adobe.
Ever since kicking us publishers off Adobe DPS, I have been having unanswered issues with producing iBooks, which is the way that we have to produce inDesign files now. Namely, I get an issue saying an image, that isn't in my inDesign file, is too big to upload to Application Loader.
Has anyone had similar issues? Please help?

Image Ultra Builder 3.x issue with T61 Network Driver load

Hello,
I am having issues with a Network deployment of an image on a T61 (7659-12U) During the intial boot up phase with the Network Boot disk that was created from IUB, I receive and error 1231 - The Network Location cannot be reached.. I am currently using IUB for deployment of A31, T40/42 as well as the T60 model line. None of these loads are having the problem.
Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

IUB 4.01 is using WINPE 2.0<Vista based> and IUB 3.1 was using WINPE 1.0/1.1<XP Based>.
This has nothing to do with the actual image deployment. It's just that the WINPE looks more like
Vista. And this is why the method changed after you updated from 3.0/3.1 to 4.00/4.01.
To answer your questions from before:
1) Does updating IUB to version 4.01 still allow me to deploy Windows XP ?
Yes, it's still supported and possible.
2) Where on the boot CD should the new driver files be located. I took this to be PREBOOT\DRIVERS ?
As the new IUB is using WINPE 2.0, the best location for the NIC drivers is the file :
tvtos\winpe.wim
However, this is my advice.!
For my Image deployment I'm no longer using the CD for network deployment. I'm using USB key which gives me more options for the image deployment and the automatization of the deployment process.
However, if you want to use CD for network deployment, then you can do it in following way.
!!!NOTE: this is not the offical way, nor the supported way, but trust me, that it's working like charm !!!
- go to your repository location %repositorylocation%\modules
- find the file called "Z633003A.TVT" and open it using your fav zip application
- after you open this file, go to following location: tvtos\
- extract the "winpe.wim" and using WAIK unmount this file and add the NIC drivers into this .wim file
- after all the drivers are in the winpe.wim file, just copy it back to the "Z633003A.TVT" file and create a new Deployment CD
How to add NIC driver using WAIK:

As I described earlier, I'm using USB key for Network image deployment, so I have not done it this way, but I have done it a bit simplier.
Here are my steps:
- created a Distribution USB key <suing the same method, that you are using when you create a Network deployment CD, but instead of a CD I select my USB key>
- once the USB key was created successfully I unmount the "tvtos\winpe.wim" file and add all the NIC dirvers into it
This is all that I have done.
Yes, of course there are couple other steps, that I do, like modifying the BCD file, adding other WINPE files, diagnostics and other deployment tools, however, this is not realy a part of IUB, I'm using it for my WDS server and other deployment tools, that I need to use. If you know, what I mean, then you surely understand, that it's a live safer to have everything on one USB key, then on multiple CD where I need to search throught all of then to find the correct CD.
Let me know, whether this method is more suitable for you.
As described above, this is not the realy official/supported way, but it's working for sure.

Issue with cropping my PiP

Well, I got the Muvipix book. But I dont think im finding a solution to my problem within the book.
After inserting a Picture in Picture I need to crop out some of the new Video.
So I crop it up just right. But when I save it and open to view it, it seems as though my crop area has been moved up about a half inch.
Any tips on this one? Seems like it should have been pretty cut and dry?

I tried to make the crop its own project then add it to the final but the black top and bottom is maintained. As if you crop something in PS and dont save with a transparent backround.
However, I saved my original project (the crop PiP issue) as an AVI with the DV preset and found that my cropped PiP is the way I wanted, but only when choosing DV widescreen, then I can convert it to MP4 with another program. It also works with the Mpeg - NTS DVD Widescreen.
So, I believe the issue lies with making sure the output file is widescreen to maintain my desired crop area.

Lightroom 5 & lightroom iphone app import issues with iOS8

hi guys,
recently i am having problems with importing iphone pics thru the lightroom app. for reasons i dont understand the images comes to lr in small resolution (640x852). if i work on the pic in the app- and save it to the camera roll the images in the app its full resolution. ideas?

You did not mention if it always were the same images that were not being synced in your original post.
Hence the question.
Even though it might seem silly for you - those questions being answered can make us understand where the problem lies.
The problem can be that you have an app that shoots pictures that are causing the issue, etc.
Best way to help us and yourself would be:
letting us know if it always only happens to a specific set of images
if only specific set of images causes this - where did they come from, had they been edited somewhere else or where they untouched when you imported them to Lr mobile
be very specific in your posts, things like "if i work on the pic in the app- and save it to the camera roll the images in the app its full resolution. " Doesn't really help us to understand where you are seeing the full resolution image, leaving us to assumptions that can be wrong.
If your workaround is to edit the images that's good but it still doesn't solve your problem right?
What you can do is - next time you have this issue - go to the settings in Lr mobile (Lr icon inside the app) and once the settings are open, press the Lr icon again for a couple of seconds to get a diagnostics log.
Then send it to me privately, do not post here directly, and we can see if it lets us know whats going on.

Loaded Creative Cloud 8 days ago. Bought photoshop and lightroom. Downloaded no issues with Lightroom, photoshop errors out each time I open it. Installed on Windows 7

I have been running Photoshop 8 for years. Upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 just so I could get Lightroom. I am paying the 9.99/mth for Lightroom and photoshop. I downloaded and am already using Lightroom. When I try to open photshop it will open, but when I go to file to try and select a photo, it errors out and says looking for solution and to close program. Totally frustrated

Holy cow. Victoria, if I could reach through the internet and give you a cupcake I would! That worked!
It's amazing -- I sat on chat with customer support for 3 hours, and they weren't able to come up with the solution. He had me creating new accounts, wiping out various directories, changing read and write permissions here and there, searching for non-existant files, and yes, repeatedly installing from disc and from download, and nothing worked. I've been searching the internet up and down, and there are some really involved "solutions" out there for this problem.

Wireless mouse issues with technical preview

I installed the technical preview with no problem on my laptop running windows 7 - except now the wireless mouse (Microsoft 4000) does not work and is not found when I try to trouble shoot. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regarding current information, I recommend to check the setupapi.dev.log under %windir%\inf, locate the device (wireless mouse) and find the line under this device name as below:
dvi: Rank - 0x00000000
Then, corresponds the score in this link:

The value 0x00003000 is the best identifier score and the value 0x00003FFF is the worst identifier score.
The score near 0x00003FFF means that the driver and device may not compatible with current system.
Since Windows 10 tech preview is the newest released version and still in test, we may need to wait for the menufacturer’s driver update to compatible with Windows 10.

Issues with "crop" effect; GPU accel

I turned on GPU acceleration on my iMac with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB card. I realize it is not "certified." Odd that you buy the fastest thing possible to get best performance and...
In any case, if I use software accel only, I have no problem. But this crops up with the crop effect: a light line at the border of the clip. Nothing I do -- changing parameters and so on -- changes this.
Here's a pic: it's the same clip superimposed over itself, one with color correct, one without. Any suggestions (other than turning off GPU accel...)

If I remove CC the line remains.
But: I figured out the cause, or rather the suspect effect. There was also a motion effect applied --change in scale and position over time. If I turn the motion effects off on each clip, the line disappears.
Blown up to 400 percent the line appears one pixel wide with a one pixel line on either side that seems to be the same color but at about 50 percent of the central line's brightness.

Anyone having issues with IBM HMC's loading the mainuiFrameset.jsp correctly?

When I try to load the mainuiFrameset.jsp it doesn't load all of the objects in the center page. It worked fine in Firefox 3.x. Still works in ie7.

Yah, have seen the artwork not matching the song or the wrong play list come up, What I have found if you switch the display it will clear and go back to the correct order of content, (like doing a refresh). Haven't experienced the pause issues, then again I tend to just let the music play. Have you tried to reset? Nothing will be lost on your iPod. push the power and home buttons at the same time and hold a few seconds until the Apple logo appears. See if that resolves your issues. If all else fails, you could do a full restore from your computer with iTunes and restore as a new iPod, you need to backup all your stuff first, (music, pictures, etc) or you'll lose some stuff. After the restore is complete put your music, pictures, apps back on. I have made the jump to 7.0.4. I'm not seeing many issues now, things so far are running quit well. Hope this helps, Good luck!

Issues with some pages not loading

I'm using a note 3 N900W8 running 4.4.2
Using regular firefox or firefox beta for android.
Some sites load but don't render anything. Opera, chrome, stock browser have no issues
If I select to display desktop mode only the mobile site loads but nothing displays. The examples I have are major retailers in canada
