Why can I not import pictures any more?

Technical informations:
PC with Windows 7 64-bit, Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit installed.
What I have done:
I downloaded the newest LR 5.71 and installed it again - mode repair; without success
I checked my PC with Norton 360: full scanning and optimizing registry
I restarted the PC and than I installed the LR 5.7 again - repair
Trouble 1:
Two days ago I could work with my LR 5 and to import pictures from a SD was no problem. Now I can start LR 5 and I can watch/modify pictures, but as soon as I try to import new pictures LR 5 stops and gives the message "your LR 5 64-bit does not work correctly - searching for solution". I have not changed anything in my computer since lasttime LR 5 worked properly, only the registry was optimized by Norton 360.
Trouble 2:
I live in Switzerland and my language ist German. I dit not find a place where I can present my problem in German, e.g. a phone number oder email-address oder german-chat. My English is to week for a discussion for computer problems and do understand it.
Help:
I would very appreciate if anybody can help me, either to trouble 1 or to trouble 2. Thanks.

Lightroom 4.4 Tethering does not work with Nikon D7100

A week ago i bought my new Nikon D7100. Yesterday i wanted to try the thetering of Lightroom 4.4.
It worked with my Nikon D5100 but it does not work with the new camera.
Is it a problem with my camera or with Lightroom?
Another question does tethering work with Lightroom 5?

New Lightroom 4 mail feature does not work with Hotmail

Hi,
I have tested the new mail feature today. Unfortunatelly, it does not work well with my hotmail account.
The mail is send by lightroom and received in my hotmail mailbox, but the photo is not visible. The tekst in the messages is readable, but instead of the downloaded photoI only see a red cross.
Anyone an idea what the reason is ?

Thanks for answering.
I do not see any error message and the received mail contains a correct text message, only the picture is not visible in the mail. I tried to send a Photo with the email preset on small and normal but without success.

I have tried to send a photo to the hotmail email adress of a friend and it works, text and photo are visible. Conclusion is that the reason for not showing the photo is not a Lightroom 4 problem. The reason should be something on my own computer, any suggestions are welcome.

Lightroom CC 2015 HDR does not work!

I have tested the HDR merge feature in Lightroom CC 2015 using photos taken inside rooms with windows that provide a view of a sunny outdoor area. Both HDR Efex Pro and Photomatix render the rooms interior and the details of the exterior as seen through the window. Using LR HDR the window is just one big blown out highlight. Other problems include:
1) No ability to adjust the amount of tone compression
2) Limited ability to adjust the HDR output in the develop module because the Highlights slider is at zero and the Shadows slider is around 70%.
3) If you click the reset button in the Develop module you get an image with both the highlights and shadows completely blown out instead of the tone mapped image you would see in HDR Efex Pro or Photomatix.
I am stunned that Adobe would provide a feature that works so poorly. With the images I have tried it really does not work at all. What's the story?

Here is a +/- 3 EV HDR that both LR6/ACR9 and PS-HDR Pro do a reasonable job with, where the only adjustments are clicking Auto in LR:
Here are the three images, EV+0, EV-3, EV+3, where to get a reasonable view out the windows, the interior was nearly black and to get a reasonable view of the interior, the windows are nearly white.
Here is a side-by-side of the EV+0 shot with various adjustments applied vs the LR6/ACR9 HDR result with Auto clicked. Tonally they look similar. What is better with the LR6/ACR9 version is the view out the windows has more detail and less clipped, and the noise in the darker areas is much better, meaning LR6/ACR9 used more of the brighter image for the floor and more of the darkest image for the view out the windows, which is exactly what HDR is supposed to do:

I swift to play games but since upgrade does not work anyone else having these issues?

I downloaded a App iswifter to play games on Facebook. However since the upgrade I cannot get on to play games. I have spoken to iswifter who says the games are fully upgraded with them and no problem but lies with Apple. Has anyone had this problem please ?

No, not the tabs "x", but for example, just now I tried to respond to your post by pressing the REPLY link on my ipad and it doesn't work. It also happens on EBAY when you click on tracking numbers and the pop-up window has a close button that will not work. Also on EBAY if you make an offer, a window comes up to review your offer and submit. the submit button does not work. If you hold on one of these link buttons you get a notice to open and the info says javascript. I think ios 8 has issues with JavaScript.

Lightroom 6 standalone upgrade does not install - does not validate the serial number

I have bought (Adobe store) yesterday and downloaded Lightroom 6 standalone upgrade (I own lightroom 4).
During the installation in Windows PC I get the following message: "We are unable to validate this serial number for Adobe Lightroom. Please contact the support"
- the Internetconnection is fine
- checked etc/host
- double checked both serial numbers
It is just impossible to install the LR6 upgrade on my Windows PC. There were no problems installing and running LR4...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Please check your hosts file entries once as sometimes due to no connection to the serialization server adobe doesn't verify the activtion.
See the steps here-

Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OS
Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.

Lightroom 6 serial number does not work.

After buying the upgrade from Lightroom 5 to 6 and after installing I am asked for the serial number. When using the serial number received from the e-mail confirmation I receive the message that it cannot be validated?

I'm having the same issue. When I enter the serial number I get an error that says that it cannot be validated.
The solution posted is also confusing.. I originally bought Lightroom stand alone.. I don't think I have a Creative Cloud membership plan, at least I know for sure I don't pay on a monthly basis and the account page is not very clear at telling me if I do have a free one or I can try a free one...

Iphoto upgraded does not work

I purchased iphoto for MAC yesterday when I launch Iphoto it tells me that I have have to prepare using the upgrader. I have dowloaded the upgrader and installed it successfully but it has done nothing and I am still getting the same message about using the upgrader every time I click on iphoto. I was on the old version (7) of Iphoto and I am attempting to upgrade to the current version. Can anyone guide me through what I need to do?

I launched the Upgrader by going to the Utilities folder and Iphoto is now working. Thanks pallywoo.

Snow Leopard upgrade does not work

I'm trying to upgrade to Snow Leopard from Leopard 10.5.8 on my mac book pro.
I only have one volume on my hard drive, but the installation program claims that I cannot install to this volume because it is not a "start volume" (though 10.5.8 boots from this volume). The icon has an exclamation mark on a yellow triangle.
I've used the service program to check my hard drive and all seams well.
Any ideas?

Application upgrade does not work

Ever since I upgraded to 2.0.2, I have had nothing but problems. The latest is that now, I can't download any applications, or application upgrades directly from my phone. It says that I need to connect to my computer in order for the upgrade to download. But even when I connect to Itunes Store on my computer, the message on my phone still says "Unable to download application. It will be available for download when you log in to the iTunes store on your computer." But I'm already connected and logged on

DO NOT UPDATE ON THE PHONE ITSELF! Never do this! You risk bricking your iPhone and seeing the Silver Apple Logo of Death due to incomplete downloads and/or crashing! This has happened to me on my old iPhone as well as thousands of others. Use iTunes and iTunes only to update Apps!
